Maybe later if people really like it and the project continues it could be
a user setting environment
Work great, just one thing : could be great if the app auto unlock when the phone receive a call (coz the diamond have a nice "slide to answer") and re-lock after the call...

...but the main idea is to prevent users from pressing accidentally the answer/ignore button when an incoming call arrived!
Anyway various ideas comes in mind for new versions
Yes, I know, but it is also very usefull for *just* lock the phone : I play a game, I read my mail, or anything, then I just turn off the phone and *hop* it's locked.
I don't worry if a reminder occur, if the on/off button is push accidentaly, or anything else, because I know that the phone is lock until I do a 45% vertical slide
And cherry on the cake, when I ask myself "what time is it ?", I just have to push a button (otherwise, I need to back to home screen with TF3D)
So if you plan to add a user config system to your app, please put a little "manage incomming call ?" box
getting better and better. after a few days i got unsatisfied with all the oter lock apps. but this is killer.
ps. is there a way to auto unlock for incoming calls? in most of the roms there is the phone canvas slider. that would do the job in that case, too.

Can't see a reason why...
Have you install the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 ?
Try a soft reset and execute it again!
i reinstalled netcf and now it works great. thanks.
installed it, runs very nice but unfortunately it makes the reminder and the alarm unusuable when an alarm comes up, the lock screen appears like it should. when you unlock, the message of the alarm or reminder is gone and you have to tap on the top-line icon to get it back also the funktion to let the alarms sound even in vibrate or silence mode won't work no mor... the device only vibrates.....

The last part has nothing to do with the LmL. Maybe some other setting to try ?!?
This is simply fantastic.
I too would like to be able to answer the phone without unlocking it. I would be quite happy with just using the hardware keys on the Diamond which seem to be locked for an incoming call.
Personally, I dont need or want other options - its simplicity is perfect. Something small and light.
perhaps its possible to implement the ability to assign some exceptions for lockmelite, i.e. that it should not lock normal homescreen (when you turn on the device consciously you don't need to have it locked i guess) or even for an upcoming alarm... THEN it really would be a perfect app!
New Release
version 1.2 released!
Enjoy
Hey man, great job!!! I love it
Now we just need an autostart function, hehe
Hello!
GSuspend simple tool which put device to suspend (standby) mode when HTC Diamand is facedown.
To unload start it again.
To install , just extract folder to Program Files, and copy .lnk to Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
After new ROM has issued, GSEN stop worked stabily, and i started to search my favourity ability of gsen - facedown suspend. But i can't find replacement of GSEN in this ability.
Finally fight win my desire against my laziness and done this application.
In the base of this app was SensorLock thanks surfsmurf.
I hope somebody also find it usefull.
Thanks
P.S. Improved power management.
Still looking sample to catch event of incoming call, if somebody can share C++
Tnx, I'll try it right now!
[EDIT] Works perfect! Very small and light application btw.
One thing I noticed; my phone is not locked with PocketShield after turning back on.
Thanks

Thank you for what must've cost you time & valued effort.
Is it possible for you to modify this in a way that it would automatically Silence the device when facedown, and back to normal volume settings on all other positions? I find it VERY useful to have that -instead of having to turn it face up & down everytime a call comes in". Everybody else apparently misses the point that a phone vibrating on wooden desks is just as terribley impolite as having it spitting jams left & right.
Do consider it...
changeScreen has a feature built into it that can suspend the phone when it's flipped face down

thats exactly what I want
but I think "upside down" or "Portrait 180" is more reliable for this job
and a small vibrate in the hand to confirm the suspend is good too
1KB MEM . . . thats awesome
thanks,
Sorry , i noticed battery drain, will work on that , sorry
is this app only turn off scren on face down or it is suspend device, because changescreen only tunr off screen??
"upside down" or "Portrait 180" excellent idea
but i dont need vibrate(i hate it)
I'm a little confused now . I'm reading about an app that turns the device on silent when faced down. This is what I'm looking for, so I can easily mute during a meeting. Vibrate on 'siwtch' is also perfectly. But my confusion is: which app do I need (or doe'sn't it exist for now )

If you receive a call during a meeting, the function to turn your phone face-down to mute the call is already build in. (maybe you have to activate it using Advanced Configuration)
GSuspend it a tool to put your device in standby on face-down.

TouchLockPro can do the same (configurable), is also small and is at the same time a lock/unlock program. Beside the GSensor, it also can couple commands to capacitive swipes, e.g. to suspend the device.

The 'turn-to-mute' function is working oké, but what I'm looking for is an app that turns my device on 'silent' when my device ís faceddown and 'normal' faced-up. So when I'm in a meeting I don't have to switch profile or flip my phone

Right on, +1 here. In meetings, if you're unprepared, you'd have to flip over & over & over, etc..., everytime you get a call. It gets irritating until you actually start pushing buttons and adjusting it manually...
If you have that meeting scheduled in your calendar, you could try G-Profile for example.
Based on your calendar, G-Profile can adjust your notification settings.

hi,
Have you try with this soft : MobilMagic
very powerfull and customized tool, it can do what you want.... but don't know if it drain battery a lot or not.
GSuspend is very cool, simple and do exactly what i want but, when i switch on the screen, it switch off again (only 1 time but....) i don't know why, need to switch on 2 times.

I'm using Miri WM 6.5 Manila 2.5 REV 6.
If I go to Start -> Lock, it works fine. But for Auto Lock (Settings -> Lock) it requires specifying PIN.
Is there a way to use Auto Lock in WM 6.5 without entering PIN/password to unlock?

Did you try HDTweak yet? It has a setting for autolocking.
I have tested it and it works however, on mine there was a strange issue with the backlight where it wouldn't turn on after unlocking. I had to turn off the screen and then turn it on, then the backlight would come back. It's only a minor issue, but if you can live with it it'll be fine.

Many thanks. But I did not use HDTweak AutoLock option because of that very issue .
Don't understand why MS doesn't implement this simple functionality.

Hmm... give Slide2Unlock a try. It supports autolock, but it's also a separate app which means using it will cost you more memory than the built in lock. But if you are in desperate need for this functionality, give it a try and it might just work for you.
I believe the newest version is S2U2.
Hallo,
I use this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542482
May be it works with WM 6.5 as well

Its not the best solution, but a way round this is to stop your phone light going to dim in the power settings. Just have the screen turn off after 2 mins or so instead. This way the screen never goes dim therfore never stays dim!
Use this app. It overcomes the dim light issue. First go back to HD Tweak and DISABLE the lock on screen dim.
Install the cab and then go to Settings\System\Smartlock and tick the Dim lock or Suspend lock options. The screen will then autolock on dim or on pressing power and there are no problems with the light on unlocking.
Thanks everybody. I'll try.

Unfortunately the Incall lock (presuming it is for incoming calls, because there is Outcall lock that should be for outgoing calls) does not work. The hardware buttons still answer/reject the calls which can be a problem while pulling the phone out of the pouch .

Take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556801
Have a look at phonealarm
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.html
For me, it handles locking and unlocking, supporting the stylus, profiles, location based functions and many more.
Another alternative is S2U2
http://www.ac-s2.com/
Is there any way to lock outgoing calls??
Because I made calls without I knew I had pressed some keys.
So, I would like to make calls after pressing of special keys.
(Incoming calls are no problem, because of some good auto lock solutions.)
Thank you!
i have wondered this too but best to lock the screen or get a app that auto locks after a certain amount of time. i cant rememer the one that i used but now i just make sure the screen is off before i put it in me pocket. when i first got the phone though it was a nightmare
As per above post you can use various apps to autolock screen. I use Smart Lock, though you can also use HD Tweak & LockMeLite.
To use Smart Lock, once installed go to settings > system > smartlock and ensure wm6.5 lock & suspend lock are both ticked, then reset device. Now everytime you turn screen off device will autolock
There is also the Slide 2 Unlock program created by an XDA member. Do a search on S2U2 and you should find it. Or go directly to his site at http://ac-s2.com/
Since a lot of people suggest disabling the g-sensor to prevent the screen freezes I thought I'd try something.
I don't want to have my rotation disabled as it's very handy to have. So what I do is use an app called Tasker. It's not free, but there is a 7-day trial available.
Basically I have it set to disable screen rotation every time the screen is off..and so far I haven't had any screen freezes. It may be coincidence, it may not be. I'm not exactly sure if the app does disable the g-sensor or does something else, but so far so good.
For those that don't know about Tasker...it's probably the best app that will ever be made for Android. You can make your phone do almost anything.
For example, I use it to:
When I get home, Wifi turns on and 3G is turned off. When I leave home, Wifi turns off and 3G turns on....same for work.
I have it disable wifi, 3g and screen rotation at night when I'm in bed.
It enables GPS when I launch maps or navigation, and disables GPS when I close the app.
And those are very basic ones...
The Tasker wiki has many more advanced "profiles" you can use:
Code:
Lock An Application
Start the Day with a Particular Application
Battery Full Alert
Launch Music App When Headset Inserted
Launch Menu of Music Apps When Headset Inserted
Keep screen awake when using the keyboard
Speaking Clock for Android 1.5
Control Keyguard (scroll to unlock) when Power is Connected/Disconnected
Keep Multiple Backups of Tasker Config
Change Ringtone on Every New Call
Mute in Meetings
Hold Ringer Volume Down
Auto-Respond To SMSs At Night
Change Volume Levels during Different Times of the Day
Check Data/SMS/Minute Usage With Carrier While Sleeping
Temporarily max brightness of screen during Incoming Call
Auto (Silent) Sleep Mode with Exceptions
Intermediate
Power Plug In - Choose Car/Home/Night Mode
Generic Toggle Widget
Open the keyboard and start texting
Set volume then Launch menu of music apps
Alarmclock without Snooze
Alarms with Snooze and Vibrate
Geburtstagserinnerung (German)
Car Locator
Notification Reminder Pulse
Locate your phone using SMS and google maps
Lock your phone and locate it by SMS and sound
A full talking clock
Act like a docking station when plugged into USB
Auto answer calls when your bluetooth headset is connected
Extended phone profile changer with Notification and Widget
Turn your cell phone into a Voip phone
Advanced
Periodic Data Check (Juicedefender Replacement)
Creates profiles similar to S60 devices and changes them depending on variety of factors
U.S. Navy Ships Bells (Using Tasker's OR '/' feature) * Pattern Matching *
Changing background image depending on current weather (Using HTTPGet)
Or you can simply create your own...there is a learning curve, but once you get a feel for it, it's VERY powerful! It can control almost every part of your Android phone.
There's a decent thread with more examples on xda in this thread.
I realise this is a software post, but it's main aim was to point out a way of disabling rotation to help with screen freezes

@the_scotsman
Thanks for the suggestion, I've seen a few people mention this app before but now I finally downloaded it. I'll play around a bit to figure out some combos, but one quick question..
Is this going to be something running in the background sucking up battery and memory or is it just like running scripts? What do you think? I'll run current widget once I get some tasks going to see happens, just wondering if you've found anything out yet.

It depends on what profiles you set up...if they involve wireless, it will enable wireless every so often to check access points etc....or if you are using a location profile, it will enable gps every so often to check your location. You can change how often everything polls in the settings.
I have mine as per the first post, so it does scan for wireless every so often, and I havent seen any change in battery usage.

Even you disable display rotation, the sensor is still active, just use Gscript and disable sensor, you won't get any more freeze.

I was just about to write exactly the same words!
Scotsman - can you tell if Tasker can run a custom written script, upon some event? Then we can use it to turn off the gsensor!
Finally seems to be workin!!I made 2 changes:
1) Upgraded my radio from 2.08 to 2.12 (I recommend this one)
2) Stopped GSensor with Gscript
Another issue,
After I restart the sensor via script, photos in album wont rotate anymore!!
I did a `ps -ef|grep akmd` and the process is running, any thoughts??
edit: it works after restart!!
did you use the free gscript? cause mine says needs su:true
Your solution is great thanks... i did something slightly different : using tasker, autorotation is enabled only for apps that I want too, like gallery. Rest of the time, its off and working great that way too.
