Hi all
I´m having a severe problem with SnapVue hanging up after 1-2 hours of being restarted.
It doesn´t matter in which state is Vista (or any other OS), if the screen is on or off, the state of "auto turn off" or the advanced network functionality setting mentioned in another thread.
It happened with the original ROM and is happening with PLIROM. No soft or hard reset will help. After 1-2 hours running, it hangs up.
To use recover from this state, I have to restart it from Vista´s ShiftControl or remove the battery.
The only way to keep it running without problems is turning the modem off. It took me a long time to find this!
My Shift is Spanish, from Orange (has no simlock tough) with the following device information:
ROM Version: 1.22.405.0 WWE
ROM Date: 12/08/07
Radio version: 1.58.21.23
Protocol version: 25.65.30.04H
Can you check the device info of your Shift for differences?
Any idea where the problem might be?
TIA
Daniel

Did you remove the battery and let it without power for few minutes and started again on both the sides? If not I will strongly suggest that.

when i first got my mda II it worked fine, but after an hour of so, after i turned it off, it wouldnt turn on again. after fiddling with it, i got it to turn on again by pressing the call button, then really quick after pressing the on button, but that only works sometimes. the only sure bet to turning it on again is a soft reset, which is VERY inconvenient... it anyone has any idea whats going on, PLEASE help me
thanks alot
Power on problem!! MDA II after upgrade to wm2003se
Hi,
I've got the same problem. I bought MDA II with wm2003. Fiew days after I installed wm2005 but it was unstable and many programs didn't working correctly so I downgraded it to wm2003se. Everything looks quite ok except the problem with power on with no activity (sometimes it srarts with power_on+red_call pressed at the same time but after that green led no blinking).
Now this is:
ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM date: 06/14/04
Radio version: 1.18.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.72.165
Is there any idea to resolve this problem?
Best regards,
Slawek
Hello! First time poster here.
I have a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard G3) that was stuck at the bootloader screen (red green and blue bars).
I was able to get the Button ROM (IPL & SPL 1.05) loaded onto device and it was working. I was able to place calls, send messages, etc.
Well, I was following the guides here on this site for unlocking and ran through the unlocking procedure, at which point I attempted to load the T-Mobile ROM (2.60 is what hte IPL and SPL shows).
However, while loading the ROM it failed at 85% giving an Error 302. The device started to reboot over and over again, never getting past the bootloader screen.
I am able to get it to a stable bootloader screen by powering the device off and then connecting it to a wall charger for awhile (i have varied the times, usually I let it sit for more than 10 minutes). I will then connect it back to the PC and try to flash the rom back to the button rom, but it has started doing it on the button rom as well!
Does anyone have any ideas? I have been scouring the forums and haven't found anything yet. I do have the Multi-port/USB TTY program, but I can't seem to find any commands to help me out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Update:
I was able to access the device from the TTY (while it was at the bootloader).
I entered in the password (BsaD5SeoA) then entered in the command: ruurun 0 followed by ResetDevice.
The device rebooted at the Button Rom came up! However, it is currently stuck on a customization program....installing Signed_DiscoButton8.sa.CAB
Ok, at this point I'd try the following things. First, hard reset. On reboot, go thru the whole screen alignment. Don't worry about setting date/time, you won't need it. When the screen gets to where it says Customization In 3 Seconds IMMEDIATLY SOFT RESET. You don't want it to customise. Now, it should work normally. Try to flash tmo rom. It will hang at 85% for a while. If that doesn't work, flash from the bootloader screen. Just go into bootlader, (hold camera, stylus into reset hole), after plugging up usb make sure you theres a usb at bottm of screen, and flash your rom.
Thanks for the reply witch.
I tried what you suggested, and I'm still having problems. Whenever the device attempts to flash, the screen will go blank and start endlessly cycling through the bootloader.
I was able to repeat what i did earlier, and got it back to working w/ the button rom. At least I am assuming its button rom. The numbers aren't really matching what button rom was originally. Button was 1.05 IPL and SPL, but the device still shows 2.26.
I checked the version screen to get some numbers, just in case.
ROM Version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
ROM Date: 6/7/06
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
Any thoughts on why it won't let me flash? I'm a little leary about attempting any ROM upgrades now that I have it a (hopefully) working state. I am going to let the battery charge overnight (was dead after trying everything) and try making some phone calls w/ it tomorrow and test other functionalities.
My SPV3100 had the No GSM message and got stuck on the Windows Mobile screen a few weeks ago. Tried HR, levaing the battery out etc etc etc but nothing worked.
I was ready to chuck it away, but after about a month of reading as much as I could about the Hermes on this forum I managed to get the phone working again by loading a different radio.
I then loaded HardSPL v7, and flashed the rom/radio using the current version on the Orange UK website.
It worked fine for a while, but now some strange things are happening;
- Call doesn't appear to end when I press the red hang-up button (although the call is actually disconnected)
- Phone freezes and buttons/touch screen will not respond
- Occasionally hangs on the Windows Mobile screen
- Occasionally get No GSM message
- Occasionally get Radio: None, GSM: None messages
- Outgoing call fails on first attempt, then phone loses network, searches, finds it and then call connects (in an area where I know reception is usually great)
- Battery dies in about 12hrs, even when sitting in standy and not being used.
These things happen at different times and independently of each other
Current stats of the phone:
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.Olipro
ROM version 2.11.61.3
Radio Version 1.38.00.01
Protocol version 32.71.7020.12H
Apart from updating the rom, I have also tried HR and the Activesync tip
Is there a better rom/radio version that I could try (I'm on Orange UK) or is this sounding more like a hardware issue?
Thanks in advance
If no-one can help with the problems i have listed, then could someone point me in the right direction of a decent radio/rom version?
Thanks
update with an official orange rom, then flash any cooked rom. I had a similar problem on one of my hermes and found if you use the official upgrade to flash first it solves the problem also state what the rom was that you flashed
Hi,
I did flash the official Orange rom already (downloaded it from the Orange website), and am having the problems listed
Current stats of the phone:
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.Olipro
ROM version 2.11.61.3
Radio Version 1.38.00.01
Protocol version 32.71.7020.12H
Do you think it didn't flash properly (bad sectors etc)?
Only way to find out is to check.....
If you're not sure, re-install the ROM.
I am using a Sprint Mogul

======
I Installed v1.1 Heavy for Cricket WM6.1
I installed Olipro-240 and then loaded the rom. I had no problem everything worked. Then I decided to upgrade the radio to that new one 3.42.50.
I attempted to flash to the rom using formatted 1GB Kingston FAT32 and the bootloader would flash loading and would do nothing. So then I used Windows 7 when I was flashing this rom [via usb] however I had left advanced networking on or maybe didnt establish an activesync so whenever I was installing from bootloader it would stop at 8 or 9% and reboot. "Unknown command" I think it said. This is where the problem started. I tried it on my XP SP3 machine it would also stop at the same percent and reboot.
I installed nuespl 2.47 and then installed the radio[3.42.50] and v1.1 heavy rom w/ no problem[via MicroSD]. However during calls my phone will reset randomly. Even when I flash back to the sprint factory rom it still reboots during calls.
Another issue I have is that when my phone goes into hibernation after 2m. It will not power on with the power button. I have to do a soft reset. I have to disable the power feature that turns off the monitor on my device. I have oxios so I dont believe its a memory issue. Can you share some advice on how to fix my phone or if it is bricked and i need to get another one.
I've spent about a 4 days straight trying to fix it and my GF is getting fed up w/ me on my phone so any help from anyone who knows what they are talking about is much appreciated
PS - the phone not turning on after hibernation was a problem my phone developed before flashing.

I downgraded my radio after all of this to 3.42.02. I am still having the same issue. I've reinstalled the radio, rom and did hard resets and pulled battery. The phone works fine on the internet/txt/mms but while on a phone it just resets at different times.. When it comes back on it sometimes has to search for a signal, this takes anywhere from 2-10minutes.
plz assist
I have read some threads about it. Some people had the power button stuck (in that case the screen 'do you want to proceed yes - no' would appear)...some other people had problems while listening to the radio.
I have never listened to the radio...
Some days ago the problem started, the phone always reboots on its own while lying on the table or in the pocket...no applications in background, no wifi on, no bluetooth on...just the original rom (german one), the original radio version, no software running : it reboots (different from shutting down, it turns on again on its own, like a soft reset).
The problem didn't begin with the installation of some application...I have not installed applications for ages, but the problem began only in the last 2-3 days.
ROM-Version : 1.56.407.2 (43972) GER
ROM-Date : 04.03.2009
Radio: 1.12.25.16DE
Protocol: 52.60.25.33U
The battery is clean, the SIM card is clean.
Try flashing another stock rom on there. It could save you weeks of heartache
