Very well done. Nothing really new but presented in an interested way.
As a commercial I think is great for the general public, they will be very impressed. That's good because we need to create a great and large Xperia commnunity.
Hmm... couldn't find anything on which frequencies are supported. I was hoping for some sort of confirmation on whether or not 1700MHz is still supported.

Cannot develop multirouch apps to x10?
You can create apps that use multitouch but since the X10 doesn't (or does it?) have the hardware to use it, it won't work. Right now, regardless of the hardware it won't work since the X10 has 1.6 Android.

And SE has come back and said they have no idea where Engadget is getting this info, as they've stated numerous times that the hardware is MT incapable. Sorry.

And yet still I don't feel confident in the statements. They also stated "numerous times" that it would be MT capable. Every time anyone asks them what hardware is used they refuse to answer.
The guy posting to the se blog seems like a manager to me, if you read his posts. No-one really technical has actually said anything on-record.
I'm gonna reserve judgement until it's rooted. I'm sure the first thing many people will try is the G1 MT hack.

Well were coming up to to the month milestone of when Tom dropped the news of having WP7 running on his HD2.
I know I will get flamed for this, but I am niave and a part of me still despite no real proof being given, is hoping.
It would be great if we got some news/proof at the end of this month.

please people, let it go....nobody was gonna get wp7 on the hd2 before the news and so there is no difference if it was all a lie...
that said, i do belive in it, reputable people have said its true. just enjoy the damn device and when wp7 comes, it will come, and i would like to see a thread with all the non belivers apologising

But thats just it, how can you EXPECT something from somebody when they dont owe you anything? you can expect customer service from HTC, or expect an official statement from HTC about wp7 (which we got), but you cant expect news about someones personal project...you arent paying them, they are doing it out the kindness of the heart and the passion they have for this phone...
well thats my opinion for example...i fix my friend's and family's computers from time to time for no charge. nobody can expect me to fix it in any reasonable time frame, nor even even expect it to be fixed at all, even if i say i can. if they do, then its really unnappretiative and its quite hurtful. alot of people did ***** about the videos of wp7 on the hd2, if it was me, i wouldnt even bother giving it to anyone, just on the fact that so many people grinded me down about it.

I think you have mis-interpreted my use of the the word "Expected" by this I meant "Hoped" or "Thought"
I do agree with you though, they don't owe us anything, and after the slagging off that some guys gave them, I would say F off to everyone.

ah ok, well yeh one can hope for it, thats all good! even i hope for it! well actually i dunno, when they said wp6 and wm6.5 isnt interchangeable made me decide not to go with wp7. but still, id love to see it! but even if they lied (which i keep stressing i dont think they are!), i wouldnt think less of them, none of us are really gettin affected and we have got alot from them anyway with wm6.5

yeah I asked him last week in a podcast he visited on ppcgeeks...said a lot including a test rom for tg01 which also makes a lot of sense. I've said on htcpedia that I wouldn't be surprised the devices we see in the fall are very similar to devices released LAST year with minor improvements in hardware (if that)
If the htc touch hd2 and the g01 were the true test devices that wp7 was based on, then as a developer I'd just go hey why do I need to make a new device? Use the old internals and I have a wp7 device. I think for early devices that's what is going to happen but again that's just my speculation on htc and toshiba. Dell et al probably have devices built from the ground up...
I mean I want to try wp7 too and its looking better and more fluid every single day that gives me hope that microsoft has made a better "coded" os that when unlocked will actually be more open than the devices we have right now. To get to that point will take time, but that's what xda is for. I mean zune hd is hacked, I expect wp7 to be hacked too. just depends on time and devices

hoping this conversation remains civil because so far no flames no claims of it was publicity and I said on htcpedia again why does a site like that need publicity it averages in US daytime 250 members per hour! late night 125! a site like that doesn't need real advertising.
We can't say its an april fool either that's come and gone. so the only other logical outcome is that it exists there are some issues (lo and behold tom said there were graphics issues)
so I am waiting enjoying wp 6.5
Does anyone actually know Tom or Da_G or ITJE? Could they ask them for an update? Anything is better than nothing.

I just don't see the draw towards WM7. I stopped using the iPhone because the locked down environment... even after jailbreaking. WM6.5 w/ Sense is the BEST OS and GUI that I've used on a phone. It has usability elements while retaining the functionality of WM. It seems to me that M$ is moving backwards.

Sure, WP7 is locked down OS with many disadvantages, I agree with that!
BUT it brings lots of new features and its going to have full flash support etc.

and then there's the talking sirphunkee, which never shuts up.

Really? I thought everyone interested enough in tinkering with gadgets (aka nerds, JK ) knew Freeman, the famous silent protagonist armed with the mighty crowbar. Or maybe I'm just getting old and ppl don't play PC games anymore.
Anyway, hopefully a new rom will come. I still have problems mounting the SD card which sometimes causes crashes. And also missing market links.

yea i think 70 percent or more of this forum should know freeman from half life gosh i remember the pc crowbar days ... was i the only one who played demos like they was the full game if they didn't have the money at the moment lol

Did you watch the video? He never stated it was a software problem, it's a hardware problem. The behavior of the multitouch chip seems to work awfully if you cross axises.

They said the hardware is not capable and then they also said they screen is not capable.. and now they say it is possible..
Lies.. covered by lies mixed with lies that are full of lies.

I used to love Sony's work.. but the X10 has pissed me off till death.
Mainly my service provider also lied to me when i bought the phone.
When i went back to return it, i asked.. "why did you say the phone has multi touch?" where by she replied "whats multi touch?"
They would not let me return it!!
So let this be a lesson to all.
If a new phone arrives on the market..
1.wait 1 month.
2.see what ppl have to say about it first.
3.make sure what was said is true.
4.buy handset.
Now oddly just a few seconds ago.. after hearing mt will be enabled for the x10...
I heard a loud crash and found the my table fell over and the phone is now destroyed as it will not boot... life is so ironic.
