hello!
hope this makes sense!
at the top of the today page there is the display for the date.......
it normally reads "Friday 01 July 2005"
but on my device (qtek s100 1.12 rom) it only displays "01 July 2005" the day has gone???
this only seems to happen after installing some programs, but its dosnt seem to be a specific one?
hope someone can help
many thanks
Mark
I have the same thing here. But if I put my regional settings back to Dutch it does display the date thing the right way, but in Dutch. (And that doesn't make sense if evertything else is in English) I have the regional settings on English and it doesn't say which day of the week it is.
If your regional settings are US then it displays the Day, but UK doesn't.
Sucks
You can customise the date display on the today screen. You need a registry editor and need to add a new registry key.
Browse to:
\HKLM\nls\overrides
and add a new STRING value called SLDte
Its value can be a combination of:
d - One/two digit day number
dd - Two digit day number
ddd - Abbreviated weekday name
dddd - Full weekday name
M - One/two digit month number
MM - Two digit month number
MMM - Abbreviated month name
MMMM - Full month name
y - One/two digit year number
yy - Two digit year number
yyy - Full year number
On mine, my SLDte key is set to
dddd, d MMMM yyyy
so today it displays "Friday, 1 July 2005"
Hope that helps...

Wow! Thank you PDAMerlin
Yeaah.. that did the trick. Thanks man.
Register strings

many thanks
kev
Qtek s100
thank you now have the day back!
Many thanks for that tip. Do you know if there any simple way to put the time on the same line too, there's probably space and it would work well there. No worries if not, it's on the bar above anyway.

Hi all. I suppose this may be a WM5 regional setting issue but I searched all over with no luck. I want to change the format of the Date item in the Today screen. Currently it displays the date with a line feed (wrap) between the day name and the date, and it has the current time right-aligned on the same line. I don't want the time shown here - it's already on the top bar. I only want the date (and possibly a slight larger font size) here with no wrapping. Is there a hack for this, or do I need to get a additional Today plugin for this?
this is the thread for a TodayTimeCab plug-in that can replace the default date/time display, where you can opt not to show the time (can also select the font size).

thanks raymonds!
no problem.
Hi everyone
this is a digital clock (& date) plugin for today screen that i found on this website:
http://www.nakka.com/soft/ptools/index_eng.html
I changed the background to black & the numbers to white & i use it now like the iphone on top of my today screen
its nice & small in size.. you can also customize the location, font size, and colors
the date is cousomizable (by prog options & through registry) but the problem is that the clock is only 24 hour format
i was hoping that someone here can look and try to get it to do 12 hour format (9:00 pm instead of 21:00)
if you can tweak to make that adjustable though its own options that would be great (eg. 09:00 - 9:00 - 9:00 pm ..etc) but even a registry tweak would be great for now as i hate the 24 hour format
2 files attached (installation & source)
thanks
iPhone look alike today clock & date
No programers here that can look at the source & develop a new CAB that makes the clock in 12 hour format???
I am disappointed... over 170 people looked but no responses...
this clock sets at the top of my today screen & it shows the date too...the font size is nice & it looks like iPhone or Slide2Unlock size & look after i changed it & reversed the colors
its very small in size & if you use the navigation it will jump over it to the next lower today plugin, which means that you get to the important items that you want to click
please can someone figure how to customize to 12 hour format?????
it seems thats the only thing missing now & with the source & original CAB provided i thought it would be easy for Xda-pros
Thanks
Have you looked at "rlToday"? it does the samething
smaller & centered
i checked rlToday
i still think tdClock is smaller in size & better ceneterd in the screen specially when the hour changes from 9:00 to 10:00 for example with an added digit (always centered)
if someone can just figure out how to do 12 hour format
Thanks

the formats of Time and Date are 100% customiz-able!
detail discussion (in Chinese) >> http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=129&t=413779&last=3911609
by the way, the font size, position and even the font itself can be customized.
how to do: (take the attached screenshot as an example
1. install the cab
2. tap the time/date display on the screen >> tap Settings
Settings page
3. set the format of date to : dddd. dd. MM. yyyy (means weekday, date, month, and year)
4. set the format of time to : h:mm:ss tt (means hour(12hr), minute, second, and am/pm)
5. set the height of module to : 55 (to layout the module's height)
6. set both left space and right space to : 10
7. click "show icon clock"
Font page
8. choose whatever font you like, Tahoma in my case (you can change it to your content by copying new fonts to the windows font folder)
9. set the height of date: 11
10. height of time: 25
11. Vertical align (date) to "top"
12 Vertical align (time) to "Bottom"
13. Bold to "Black"
Colors page
14. tap text and background color and choose whatever colors you like
Note: "/", ",", "-"or whatever can be added to the format of time and date to seperate items. however, "\" means word wrapping. it is used only if you want to wrap the format of time or date to two or more lines.

WOOT! Thank you so much for this little gem, just what the wife was bugging me about, a clock with seconds!!! I even went so far as to make it into an OEM package for cooking, pls find attached.
Ok, I've tried BUT
Can't get the line wrap to work.
Where does the \ go?
ALso, is this the latest version? I can see mention of AlDate 1.12 on the web but can't read Russian or Chinese ;-)
WordWrap
well actually its \n that is used, normal imbeded notation
so this "ddd,\nMMM dd" would display as this
Wednesday,
Oct 24
Hope this helps.
That's fine but
Ah, I see. the example above works as well for putting the clock underneath the date.
thanks a lot
Thanks... & Font Request

How did you make the morning/afternoon show as AM or PM all mine does is a.m. or p.m.? It takes up much more room and I want my font as large as possible.
I have tried various combinations of the time format - tt, t, TT, T, but they don’t work. Am I just being to blind to see something really obvious?

Hi there
I'm looking for someone who can help me with adjusting the regional settings on my phone.
I've got the region set to the right one, English (South Africa) where I am, but I would like to have more options with regards to date display...
the only options I have are either "yy/mm/dd" or "yy-mm-dd"
and I'd really like to change it to "ddd, dd mmm, yyyy"
From Modaco:
Change the Short Date Format
Applications may call upon the system to provide a 'short date format'. One such application is the Date/Time display in the taskbar, if set to show the date. To change the Short Date Format to show "Mon/2" (example):
HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte = "ddd/d " (REGSZ string, no quotes)Note 1: For more information on date/time formatting strings, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...vbenlr98/html/vafmtuserdefineddateformats.asp
Note 2: All applications using the short date format will be affected by this change. Choose wisely
Aaaaahhhh THANK you very much... there's not enough space on the line to show it all, but at least I can change it... thanks :-D
Hello,
Is it possible to get the information about the day (Sun, Mon etc) in M2D Home Tab?
I tried changing the date on the left side top of M2D Home Tab, by changing the regional settings(or HKLM\nls\overrides) but to no avail.
This link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446406) tells me its not possible.
Now is there an possibility to customize M2D (customizing HTCHomeSettings.xml) to display the day of the week anywhere else on the screen?

No you cant change, unless you use the newer M2D versions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
Success!!
I did manage to change the date and to display the day of the week on M2D.
I got this information while browsing another forum (Jade). The thing missing was the "HKCU\MUI\Curlang" registry edit.
Thanks nikmaster74 and azahidi.
For your reference:
8) Change Date Format on TF2D Home Tab - Credit to nikmaster74 for pointing this reg edit.
Check registry HKCU\MUI\Curlang - if value is 1033 (decimal), most likely the date format will be american format (mmm dd, yy). Changing registry <SSdte> at this state will not change the date format at Home Tab.
How to change ?
Go to registry HKCU\MUI\Curlang - change value 1033 to 409 (decimal) - Save - Soft Reset >>> date on Home Tab will change to format dd/mm/yy (depending on what's at <SSDte>).
Now, if you want to change to other formats, go to HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte and put whatever format you wish.
e.g. ddd dd/MM/yy will return a date Thu 29/01/09. Note: doing this will also change date format at other tabs like emails, messages, file folders, etc.
