How to Cook your first ROM - P3300, MDA Compact III upgrading etc.

Wouldn't there happen to have a nice tutorial on how to cook your own ROM?
I mean, the new cooks don't know what to do exactly...I'm thinking about making Vanilla 4.01 an even better ROM, with the new radio and etc...the problem is, I know NOTHING about cooking...
Anyone could gimme a Cooking for Dummies?
This could be a sticky thread if evryone contributes to create tutorials on cooking...
Thanks a lot everyone!

There is a sticky.... I don't know how usefull it is, but it has very much info and links to tutorials.
Here's the link

Learning how to cook

I was wondering, if anyone had any links to good threads on how to learn to cook X1 ROMs. I've tried a few custom ones, but would like to combine all the best bits from them into one, and learn how to cook myself.
However, the link on the wiki about how to cook a ROM is dead.

Awesome thanks mate

I need your advice, Chiefs

please, write me, or give a links to threads, where I can do understand, how to Extract (unpack, deploy) any ready ROM? That question is only for me, as a single user of preferred ROM.. but I dislike, some absolutely unneeded things for me..
Waiting for your advices
There is no thread, link or anyway that you can extract a cooked rom and just remove some pack and repack. All cooked roms are protected. Although there is still a way search for reconstukcook something like that on xda u will get it, but again if you have some knowlege of cooking then only u can do that.

hi
I'm new with the development thing but willing to learn if anyone want to help me it would bw great.
I'm tring to make a rom that goes with my company call herbalife
thank u for reading my add and for the help.

you could start with the "chucky comes with kitchen" rom.that way you can see a pre loaded kitchen, and what happens when you tweak it and re build.
I would advise you to head over to the Chef Central fora for more help and information.

Im assuming you have a back ground in development? Cooking roms is not something you can just learn in a few days, As allready mentioned there are many threads in this forum relating to cooking roms, so it would be best to check those out if you're serious abuot doing it
I think what you are looking for is how to make a custom skin for Sense. No point in making a custom rom.

[Q] What do i need to cook a rom?

Hello,
i wondered wether i need to be a computer genius to cook my own rom. On all the roms you get tons of apps, and I want to make one with as good as no extra apps (just some basic ones like youtube and opera). I downloaded the ervius kitchen, but what do i need to start? Do i have to download a sort of 'master rom' in which you can disable things you dont want?
Thanks in advance,
Kapie
Im watching the youtube tutorial by lion75y, and i need the stock rom. I bought my device second handed, and i am not able to download it from the HTC homepage. Is the blackstone stock rom available somewhere else? I've searched around on the forums, but i couldnt find it...

To be honest mate there is plenty of guides or kitchens to help you. Try typing in "kitchen" or "cooking" into the search and see what threads appear
Also, this may be a good place to start

Cooking Rom, a Helping Hand, Please?

Dears,
I have looked into many pages about how to cook Rom, but I found none easy enough to be understood by beginners. I am also not a very familiar one with cooking Rom.
It would be great if someone take the initiative and start writing some simple straight complete guides about cooking Rom. I think we all like to learn how to do so, and to build our own Rom for our htc hd mini.
Thanks in Advance,
htc hd mini.
