Hi all,
few time i've lurked in this forum to get infos, apps etc.
Now I have a little problem to solve.
I have an VS2008 app to debug into an WM6 device. This apps talk with server through GPRS/UMTS network. How can i connect the device with activesync to the development pc and use the GPRS/UMTS connection when i debug the app with VS2008?
I've try to set the Activesync menu "connected to: work" but the device doesn't activate the GPRS too...
Just want to debug my app because it hangs with windows ad "the program xyz end to work etc etc" when the phone receive a call. No exception raised, only the app hangs.
Thank you!

Hello,
I am a Java programmer, usually on PC, lately on PDA using Jeode JVM on iPAQ, and yesterday I implemented my program on XDA (QTek 1010).
My problem is that the GPRS doesn't load automatically like it does on iPAQ with AirCard modem - you have to connect manually using Start -> settings -> connections -> connections -> connect.
Also, when you use the phone, the GPRS is disconnected, and you have to go through this long path again.
I have downloaded the SDK (60MB), but I don't know how to operate it...
I'm sure it's just a simple one line function call, so if someone has a link, wrote, or can make me a program that just connects to the GPRS and that's all, I'll be very thankful...
Alternatively, please instruct me on how to use the SDK and I'll create it myself.
Thanks in advance,

Hello all,
I've jot got an XDA Mini S and have a few questions I hope you can answer:
1. I can sync fine with Outlook on my PC but if I want to download message via wifi or GPRS I have to use a different account so message are duplicated. Is it possible to set it up so all new messages are downloaded into the same folder?
2. Does the XDA switch automatically between wifi and GPRS, i.e. if it is using GPRS and finds wifi available will it switch? Also, as I pay for 3MB/month with O2 does it matter how long I'm connected via GPRS or is it just the data I pay for?
3. How do you turn off the annoying 'clip clop' noises when you open programs from the start menu? I can't find it in the sounds settings...
Cheers,
RP
Hello.
I need your help since my Atom is lauching the GPRS connection without any instruction to do that.
I closed all the resident memory programs but still go on dialing!
How can I avoid the connection start withouth promptin it or only if I need it?
Thank You
Regards
There must be some program you have installed that's initiating it. I would suggest that you did a hard reset (after backing up your documents and contacts, of course) and then install program after program, testing a while after the installation, to see what the offenting app is.
same problem for me
Moved to proper section
Main reason
EMAIL - once an account is setup it will auto connect to internet for new email, default every 2 hours, but Windows Mobile do not disconnect GPRS after trying to get new mails.
ACTICE SYNC - if you have setup connection to EXCHANGE SERVER eg, google push server.
wil also auto connect all the time
Down side of Microsoft is that they didnt design to disconnect after trying to get email like Symbian(Nokia) do. so other manufacture will offer to design their comm manager to disable data auto connection but O2 & Quanta didnt go to the extend to offer this function back then.
Download NoData from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467813
toggle to DISABLE GPRS
this will stop auto connection to GPRS but it may stop receiving MMS as MMS also require GPRS connection.
Hi there!
I'm using a xperia X1 with the latest firmware version installed which SE released.
I also use spb mobileshell 3.0 ; active sync via exchange(over SSL, not VPN); palringo; Xperiatweak; TaskFacade; G-Alarm; Skype;WM6 Remote Desktop;.net vnc viewer;
My provider is o2 and I live in germany.
I'd like to use a pptp vpn connection to get connection to several services in my network. I already used it with my xda-mini-s and my orbit2, never had serious problems. Sometimes it took a few soft-resets until i got it working... but now...
I set up my connection as I always did,
@preferences->connections->add vpn-server ;
after adding the server i specified a couple of exeptions for my network-> reboot. -done-
But this time it won't connect automatically, it doesn't react when i type in a ip/name which is defined in the exeptions. (usually it is attempting to connect to my vpn server...)
I can navigate to the preferences->connections-> edit vpn-server and connect manually. It establishes a connection successfully and i can use e.g. rdp.
PLEASE HELP!
I can't figure out why its not connecting automatically.
I entered the exeptions like I always did.
(e.g. 192.168.14.200 or domaincontroller.domain.local -> a wildcard is added automatically to the entrys -> listed like this: 192.168.14.200/*)
I would be very happy if anybody could help!
Best regards, and have a nice day.

found out something new
Hi there!
Today I found out something new. IT DOES AUTOMATICALLY CONNECT, FOR SOME PROGRAMS...
It's just a question which Software I use.
For example, I always used rdp over vpn.
So I tested if its opening the tunnel if i try to connect to one of my desktops via remotedesktop, and its not.
(on the "old" phone, rdp was included from stock, on xperia i had to install it)
I tested connecting over a java irc app, which is also not working.
If I use e.g. Opera to connect to a website (e.g. owa) over a local ip, its successfully establishing the connection and i could log in.
DAMN!
I need it to work with, rdp, vnc and irc!
Shouldn't the phone recognize that I try to connect to a url/ip wich is located in my LAN whatever wich software is used?
PLEASE HELP
Have a nice sunday.

Win**** -- Did you ever find a solution/explanation for this?
I used to use a vpn for activesync, and activesync always automatically invoked the vpn connection...so I took that for granted...but today I've been using the WM6 Remote Desktop client, and like you, I can't believe that the recognition of url "exceptions" is useless for this app.
BTW, I would have been happy if I could just create a convenient shortcut to start the connection manually, but I've been all up and down the Web, and apparently there's no way to do that, either. mad, indeed.
i have a similar issue, my phone connets and after 20 secs it drops the VPN
I really searched hard, but couldn't find any solutions, neither in a german forum.
My TD2 can use the wlan for internet via topaz' integrated opera without a problem. But if it comes to adding mail accounts, I am not able to choose wlan as the connection to download / send mails (yes, all access data are correct, it's only that I can't choose wlan as connection). Due to obvious reasons, I don't want to use the regular networks of my phone provider. I just want to use my free wlan at home to send / receive mails. What to do?
Normally when a data connection is request, if pda has the wifi actived it first try to connect with a wlan. if it don't find an active wlan, then it connect by gprs or 3g.
if you want avoid the connection with gprs/3g it is advisable to disactivate it by the program Modaco Nodata.
Got it now, all worked well. But after I entered a complete mail account that worked, I entered a second mail account that I didn't configur till the end. Now it appears in the touchflo 3d, is not deletable and does also NOT appear in the WM Mail structure. It seems it only appears in the TouchFlo, which showed it again after deactivating/ enabling TouchFlo again. SKTools doesn't find it either. Dunno where to fin it apart from the registry, where can I delete it?
