VJDeviceLock
Guys,
This is a small app in response to a request to this request:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45007
I'm not sure what it's compatible with, but if you've got the new Universal rom (and maybe the Wizard?), you should have the "Device Lock" plugin installed by the ROM.
This app can be used to instantly lock the device using that plugin.
NOTE - it only works with that plugin, it's not a standalone lock. I may write my own device lock one day, but this is just for that plugin.
So assign it to a hardware key to lock your phone instantly. Or put it in your notification queue to lock the device every time it wakes up. Use your imagination!
Let me know if it works.
Available on my website!
V
PS - if it does or doesn't work, can you please post your hardware and ROM details so people can know if it's compatible. I've only tested it on my Universal with the Imate ROM.
Release Info:
2006.08.29 - Version 0.3: updated to not require today plugin to be loaded. Also shrunk down!
2006.09.04 - Version 0.4: added display off & lock (for when listening to music etc), go to Today & lock, and control to toggle the screen on and off (just in case!)
Thanks for the app as usual!
Question..is it possible to use the app w/o having the Device Lock plugin on the today screen? I got an error msg asking if it's installed when I unselect it from the Today Items. Maybe next version?
Thanks again!
You do not disappoint, Vijay.
Quick question... what about those who don't have the Device Lock Today plug-in... can you include it/force it into a device such as my HTC Apache? The Sprint PPC-6700 in the new ROM update supposedly has it, but not the darn Verizon xV6700 ROM yet...
Guys, as I've said, that app interacts with the plugin included in the new rom, and uses that for the lock.
Thus, using it without that plugin would make no sense - it uses that plugin to do the locking. As I've said, one day I might make my own lock, but for now, if if you use that plugin, I hope this app helps.
BeyondtheTech: I know this is a question that's been asked for a while, whether the plugin can be extracted. I've not really paid any attention because I only just upgraded to the new rom, and thought I might as well make this app because it was requested a while back and I can see that it would be useful. But I guess the plugin hasn't been extracted as a standalone yet then?
If not, I'll try to have a look into it
Did it work ok for anyone so far? It's using a technique I'm going to put back into VJToggleToday II, so need to know if it functions correctly for those who do have the plugin. Is it locking ok?
V
Works like a charm here! Great app! Thanks a lot!
This works VERY GOOD!
This program works fantastic... I used memmaid to put a task in the notification que to run at startup. This way I power off the system as normal, and everytime it "wakes" up it will lock. Only other item on this that would be nice is the option not to use memmaid but to put itself in the notification que by itself.

Hi VJ, it works great with the Sprint Apache. What I meant was if it's possible to use this app w/o the Device Lock plugin being active on the today screen? The app would still interact with the plugin but somehow have it interact while it's not selected Start > Settings > Today > Items. I much rather use the extra space for another plugin. Hope this makes a little more sense.
Looks like you beat me to it I was about to release the same application this morning. It's a good thing I checked this thread I'm assuming you are doing the same thing I am by enumerating the windows looking for "LockPlugin" then posting a WM_KEYDOWN message to the window.
I added a few extra options to mine such as suspending the device after locking it and the ability to run a program after locking so you can see your task list, contacts, etc.. without having to unlock the phone.
Perhaps I gave away too much in my thread from yesterday: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45626
armstrom: hey, release yours too! I didn't see your post, but it was the obvious way to do it, to enumerate the plugins and then lockdevice.
One question - how are you differentiating the two worker children (the tray and the plugins)? PM me to discuss. I'm not sure if my way is fullproof, which is why it's out for test..
I programmed this yesterday because it's been a busy week at work, and I wanted to program something simple to relax. I spent more time thinking of a name and an icon! In the end, VJDeviceLock was just easy. I wanted VJAnulus, but it looks too much like anus
Your version sounds much better though. I'd be interested to see it!
I have to say though - I still have concerns about the Today plugin itself, because it doesn't entirely block the screen; eg I use SmallMenu and it's still usable Quite silly. But, it's better then nothing. I'll try to write my own lock someday. Bruce from PocketMax has one out as well, but I've not tested it on WM5.
hamsup1o: I think there might be a way to lock the device without showing the plugin. If I get time to implement it, I'll try to. That way it won't take any space on the screen. But no guarantees
V
Yeah, I didn't think you had seen it, just having some fun Sure, I'll upload a CAB in a few minutes. I might as well release it since I went through all the trouble of creating a control panel applet for it and all. I'll PM to share my technique with you. I can supply source code if you're interested.

Tested on 818pro / Prophet. I need to put the Device Lock on Today Plugin in order to get it work.

Sounds good VJ!
Will this allow voice dial to work via bluetooth with the new sprint ROM?
Currently, after upgrading my ROM, when I use the default lock on the Today screen, if I press voice dial on my Plantronics 600, it will light up the screen, but the voice dial app will not display/load.
Will this fix that issue?
Thanks!
Ok, finally released mine. I don't want to clutter up your thread so here's the new one I started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45953
Enjoy!

Uhhh lock your device buttons? On WM5 that is.
tweakradje: The program I've posted interacts with the Lock Device plugin to allow you to lock it from a shorcut, hardware key, or automatically when you switch the Phone on.
If this can already be done without the program, no problem, nothing to see here...

What you posted simply adds the today item to lock the device (this is required for both of the programs described here).
However, it does not allow you to lock the device with a hardware button. You have to go back to your today screen and click that little icon.
Both my software and this one allow you to map a hardware button to this device lock capability. Thus allowing you to lock the device while in another application, or without using the sylus. Yes, I know it's possible to hit the little today item with a finger, but it's tough on the smaller devices.
In addition, my software allows you to suspend the device after locking it (same as hitting the power button) and even launch an application after locking. This is useful for launching things like your calendar, task list, or other applications that you may want to glance at without having to unlock the phone. I will probably develop a full-screen clock application to launch every time I lock the phone. That way I can see the time quickly without having to unlock the phone.

On my xda2i i had a one press icon on the today screen for enabling/disabling wifi or bluetooth. Is there anyway i can do this on the wizard ? I hate going thru the comm manager screen.

This program could be what you're looking for: http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJVolubilis
It's developed by vijay555 of this XDA-forum!
It creates shortcuts in the start > programs menu, to toggle BlueTooth, WiFi, IrdA and in the latest version it even toggles Phone Radio. You can put the shortcut tot Bluetooth toggle and wifi toggle as an icon on the todayscreen usining any program launcher or you can put them in the system tray using PHM traylaunch as i have done. Only nag is that you have to switch wifi on from the Commmanager only once before the shortcut works. Then no problem until the next soft-reset.

thank you i'll give that a shot now
I use this tool to turn/off Bluetooth for my headset in the car. Its a really usefully little helper!
You can even edit the .ink files so that you do NOT get a status message on the screen ( which I would have to click away to see my today screen again ).
i installed the cab and have found the shortcuts, however i get an error when i tap any of them- any ideas ? Also how do i intergrate your cool icons to the shortcuts ?
thanks,
malty
maltloaf: you may be getting errors because you installed to a non default location. There are warnings I hope on my site, but I've been too busy to write a custom installer, so the provided shortcuts are hard coded for English default installation. If you change location, they don't work. But just edit them and you should be able to change the location so they point to the right place.
I've (hopefully) added GPRS control as well, as of yesterday, so can finally re-visit Wizard wifi and get it fixed as a next step to global domination, bwaa haa haa...
The status messages will also be tarted up as an upcoming update.
To change icons - search my username for the word "completeness" for various posts.
V
ok can see the link working now i installed it on the device rather than the storage card. I'm having a little trouble getting a working link to your ready made shortcuts in phm traylaunch.

how to change the icons:
step 1:
Find the icons you would like to use. My bluetooth icon comes from a program called CicleBT, which is also a Bluetooth switcher but has an annoying confirmed-message. i got it here: http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/cbt/cbt.aspx
My wifi-icon comes from the wifitray.exe file in the \windows diretory.
Step 2:
Modify the shortcuts (also to redirect them to the locationwhere you installed Vijay's VJVolubilis program.
The shortcuts are placed in the folder:
\windows\startmenu\programs\vijay555\VJVolubilis\
I changed the BT-toggle shortcut from:
73#"\Program Files\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VjVolubilis.exe" -status -bluetoggle
to: (i have a Dutch rom so my Program Files folder is called Programmabestanden)
73#"\Programmabestanden\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VjVolubilis.exe" -status -bluetoggle?\programmabestanden\CicleBT\CicleBT.exe,-101
(where after the questionmark is the location of the icon)
and changed the wifi-toggle shortcut from:
73#"\Program Files\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VjVolubilis.exe" -status -wifitoggle
to:
73#"\Programmabestanden\vijay555\VJVolubilis\VjVolubilis.exe" -status -wifitoggle?\windows\wifitray.exe,-105
(You could also remove "-status" from the above strings so that you don;t get a confirmation message.)
you are a star, i just go my wifi icon working perfectly using your instructions. Thank you.
maltloaf: what are you using for your wifi control app?
V
PS anyone tried the GPRS yet? It's untested AFAIK... I'd like to know if it works
@ vijay555
Hi! I'm also using VJVolubilis and i like it very much! I have 2 shortcuts in my bottomtray to toggle Bluetooth and Wifi. (see above screenshot)
I tested the GPRS toggle and this also works like a charm!
But i'm having some problems with the radio toggle: when radio is on and i click on a shortcut to switch it off (- radiotoggle) it switches perfectly to flightmode. But when i then click again on the shortcut (- radiotoggle) it tries to switch the radio back on again but i get an antenna-symbol with a explanationmark, No Service! This problem also accures when using the command -radioon, but does does not appear when using the build in (clicking the network icon an selecting flightmode off) way.
Furthermore i tried -AGon and -AGoff commands and they also work fine!!! I have paired my bluetooth headset to my device a couple weeks ago. When i now click a shortcut -AGon it turns on Bluetooth and i get instandly the sound over my (mono) headset (I do not have to push any further buttons to make it work). Soundquality is not so good but that surely has to do with my lowbudget headset! Also -AGoff works just fine! My question: does this mean that when i buy a stereo bluetooth headset the sound would be much better?
So the only problem i ran into was to switch the radio back on, that doesn't work for me!
My configuration:
- T-Mobile MDA Vario
- Latest version VJVolubilis (downloaded today april 12th at 09.00 am)
- ROM version: Qtek 2.18.7.6 NLD
- ROM date: 2/22/2006
- Radioversion: 02.07.10
- Protocolversion: 413.1.03
- Windows Mobile 5.1.195 (build 14847.2.0.0)
- Headset: Cellink Mini Bluetooth Headset BTHS 6023-F
- Not using Voice Command
1-2tje: I'll look into it. I have the same headset as you, I think it's a generic - mine was branded "Medion", but I know other shops that sell it
Not sure why the radio on off wouldn't work. I'll look into it. You're not using a sim switcher or anything are you?
Has anyone else tried this on WM5? I've only tried radio switching on WM2003 and the WM5 Emulator.
Regarding the stereo bluetooth, the sound works in a different way and is a much higher quality. Read some reviews though, some apps don't work well with the limited bluetooth bandwidth, but it will certainly sound better then the little headset

vijay555, or anyone, I'm using your VjVolubilis and VJDevicelock to turn off my wifi, turn on my bluetooth, and lock my device before I ride my motorcycle. I'm using two links, one for VjVolubilis and one for VJDevicelock but would like to do it all with one button. Is there a way to execute 2 programs in one lnk file or some other method to accomplish this?
Thanks,
Mike
P.S. VjVolubilis will not turn my wifi on for the first time ater a reset but works fine for on, off and toggle after I use the connection manager to turn it on. I have a cingular 8125 with the new Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE rom.
holmanm: I only have a Universal (and Magician), not a Wizard, so I'm stuck when it comes to testing on that hardware. But I'm trying to work on a more generic solution, not hardware specific.
To execute more then one app, use mortscript, or if your Japanese is slightly more fluent then mine, ExecMulti. No, I can't tell you how to use it
1-2tje - that's a great solution! Looks cool - any chance of a bigger screenshot though, for context?
V
Just to clarify re: the GPRS function, does this totally disable GPRS? At the moment I have a dummy GPRS connection set up as my default (to stop GPRS accidentally being used when I'm surfing over a wifi connection), and switch back to the 'real' GPRS connection when I need to use it. Obviously, though, it's a bit of a PITA and having a 'disable GPRS' option (without disabling the phone) would be really handy....
large image with my custom made icons:
I'm not happy yet with the GPRS and Radio icons. I 'borrowed' the Bluetooth and Wifi icons from other programs but the GPRS and Radio i have to create myself and that's not so easy. I would really like to have "interactive" icons such as Comm Manager icon. Where you see a red cross when disabled en the icon turns green when enabeld! Any idea how to do this? Is it for a part programming or is it just a maater of putting different icons in a dll file? I suppose there is a programming aspect because the program has to know wich icon to use. Do you have any ideas about this?
Webreaper: no, hopefully it's just the same as tapping the GPRS icon and perssing connect/disconnect. It should use your default GPRS connection. I haven't made it disable GPRS (yet).
1-2tje: Nice shot, thanks.
Just an idea - you can rip the original icons from the OS, they're in shellapp.96.dll or something like that. I've got some posts on the issue somewhere.
What you're suggesting would be fairly tough to implement. I could make VJVolubilis return a return/error value to indicate if a particular function is enabled/disabled (eg Wifi is on = 1, off = 0). However, returning several values (eg bluetooth, wifi etc) would be confusing. But either way, you would then need a tray launcher app able to respond to this error value and update the tray icon accordingly. I don't know of any app that can do this.
Theoretically I could build tray icons into VJVolubilis, but I think for now it goes against the idea of what the app is to me (a tool to be used with other launchers). I may consider building in an interface and other interface options later.
This is a confusing possiblity, but you could, I think, use something like mortscript. This would work thus:
Make a mortscript to:
1. Launch VJVolubilis -wifion.
2. Use a taskkiller to kill a VJTrayLaunch icon.
3. Launch VJTrayLaunch to ANOTHER mortscript to launch VJVolublis -wifioff.
Also making a matching companion for the OFF version.
So the idea: launch VJTrayLaunch shortcut to mortscript for ON version. The ON version would do wifion, and remove the old icon, and launch a new icon. So clicking the icon removes old icon and adds a new one.
Complicated, and might not work, but could work!

GPRS Toggle
Hi,
My question might be
But how do you toggle the GPRS connection with VJVolubilis ?
What is the command line or how do you do this ?
Thanks

moGo beta v.0.4
moGo is now independent
The new version of moGo no longer needs the freestyl server. At the moment this most likely will not mean to much to you guys but it means moGo is no longer restricted to the freestyl features. The new server pushes data to moGo to save on power as previously moGo had to ask the server to see if there where changes at regular intervals.

Features:
Finger friendly application launcher
Quick dial of favourite friends
Highly configurable menus and menu items
Missed call/sms/email notifications
Slide to quick launch(needs to be set in sets.txt)
Vibrate on touch(needs to be set in sets.txt, also probably not recommended)
Requirements:
.net compact 2.0
flashlite 2.1
How to use:
download and unzip the .CAB file
Transfer moGoInstall.CAB file to phone then click file to install.
INSTALL ONTO DEVICE!
Look in programs and run mogo.
Config:
There is still no easy config app but you can delve into the settings by editing the sets.txt file. In this file are a lot of setting values where you can change the wallpaper, icons and the menu items. After editing the sets.txt file you will need to re launch moGo.
Change wallpaper
wall=wallpapers/01.jpg -- after the = sign put the location of your own wallpaper
Change icons
menuIcon1=Phone.png -- change Phone.png to the icon you want to use. You can find icons in the icons folder.
Change menu Items
m1_iName1=Contacts -- This is the menu item title
m1_iDesc1=See a list of your conacts -- A small description
m1_iIcon1=Contacts.png -- The icon of the menu item
m1_iType1=launch -- Launch type. Can be: launch,web,call
m1_iAction1=\Windows\addrbook.lnk -- Depending on the launch type. Either location of app, web address or phone number
Multiple menus
It is possible to add your own menu. You can currently have up to 4 menus per button.
m1_Menus=3 -- This needs to be set to the correct number of menus you want.
The following would create a third menu for the phone button. Having m111 means it is the 3rd menu. m1111 would be the forth.
&m111_Style=big&m111_Ani=fromB&
&m111_iName1=Friend 5&m111_iDesc1=Ring 01234567890&m111_iIcon1=Contacts.png&m111_iType1=call&m111_iAction1=01234567890&
&m111_iName2=Friend 6&m111_iDesc2=Ring 01234567890&m111_iIcon2=Contacts.png&m111_iType2=call&m111_iAction2=01234567890&
&m111_iName3=Friend 7&m111_iDesc3=Ring 01234567890&m111_iIcon3=Contacts.png&m111_iType3=call&m111_iAction3=01234567890&
&m111_iName4=Friend 8&m111_iDesc4=Ring 01234567890&m111_iIcon4=Contacts.png&m111_iType4=call&m111_iAction4=01234567890&
&m111_Style=big -- means it is using the 4 big menu items style. Setting it to grid would make it use a 9 item grid menu. If using the grid you will need to add more items to the menu.
&m111_Ani=fromB -- This means the menu animation will slide from the bottom. Other options are "fromU" is slide from the top, "fromL", slide in from the left and "fromR", slide in from the right.
Slide to quick launch
&slideLeft_iType=none&slideLeft_iAction=\Windows\fexplore.exe&slideLeft_iIcon=FileExplorer.png&
&slideLeft_iType=none -- This means the slide to launch is off. Set it to "launch" and add the correct location to launch an application like a locker program for example. You can set an icon for it. You could also set it to ring someone by using the iType=call setting.
Possible problems:
I have built a brand new moGoServer instead of using freestyl and I have found the xmlsocket class in flashlite a little flaky. I do believe that I have found a good work around to make it stable though. See if you have any problems and let me know.
I only see a black window titled moGoServer...
You either do not have flashlite 2.1 installed or flashlite is not associating .swf files. If you have flashlite installed run it and open a swf file manually by clicking open. You can find a swf file in the flashlite folder or moGo folder. Now it wil associate swf files and you never ned to do it again. Restart moGo.
Download moGo v.0.4
Hope you like it
Steve
very nice and clean

Have you got FlashLite 2.1 installed?
If you have flashlite installed and you still get the black screen open a swf file manually with flashlite by running flashlite, clicking open and finding a .swf file. There's one in the flashlite folder or moGo folder. After thats done close it and run moGo again. Flashlite would have associated swf files with it now so you will never need to do that again.
I'll edit the first post so it has this info in it now.
thks for this very nice log; the "call history" don't work ...
Very nice!! Working on some customization now.
Fantastic first release. Great work! I love how quick and clean it is.
Suggestions for future releases:
Weather
RSS Reader
include # of voicemails along with SMS, email, and missed calls.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks.
kinda cool, but it would be nice if it auto saw all your applications. still testing it some though.
@ monamibouli
Have you got the tCallHistory.exe file. It should be in your windows folder by default really. Sometimes yet rarely I have found windows mobile wouldn't launch my call history at all until I restarted.
@ mfrost67
Nice. I would love to see some screen shots when your finished. Same with anyone else who may be adding their own skin. In the following versions I will increase the skinning ability of moGo too.
@ bigevs
Personaly I dont use weather apps but you're the second person to ask for it so I guess I should do it. RSS reader would be cool and I totally agree with the voice notification which will defiantly be in the next version.

Yeah I have already thought about that. I think the way I will do it is still have a favourites menu type thing but then have a show all programs button that will launch a list view.
I've had some time to tinker around with this program and I am still loving it. I've used itask animated, freestyl, and several other set-ups and I like this one the best. It works great for my fat fingers and it seems to be very stable. A few thoughts on how to make it even better...
*Ability to include today plug-ins on a page
*Next appointment on today screen
*Bluetooth icon on home page
*More customization options such as:
*Option to remove curtain under the clock on the homepage
*Ability to change background on every page
*Time and date format
I can't wait for the next release. This program is fantastic.
Thanks bigevs,
A lot of your suggestions are being worked on for the next release. What do you mean by "Ability to include today plug-ins on a page" suggestion.
this is working for my dopod 818 pro??
thanks...

Sorry. I meant embedding today plug-ins into moGo so that you could cycle between them. I've seen other programs that do this (i.e. Throttlelauncher)
I use Today Agenda, and it would be nice to incorporate that into moGo so I don't have to close moGo to see it on the today screen. I would rather have them integrated together. Or, you could build your own calender/tasks app.
I also seem to be having a little trouble with the SMS notifier updating in a timely manner. Did I mess somethihg up, or is this a known issue?
EDIT: It works fine if I hit the Outlook icon and then SMS inbox, but doesn't work if I tap the Blue SMS notifier.
Once again, great job! Keep up the good work.

Have you got the tCallHistory.exe file. It should be in your windows folder by default really. Sometimes yet rarely I have found windows mobile wouldn't launch my call history at all until I restarted.

No question: there is no tCallHistory.exe on kaiser. Nor can I find anything obviously related to call history in .inks as well.
So far I like this very much after configuration and personalization, fave apps, quick dials, and https's

I second this request I have been looking for a launcher like moGo that would also incorporate today plugins. I've been trying to get the iFonz developer to do it, but I think he has too manu requests as it is . Having a page for today plugins would be great, then I could have phonealarm and my schedule(schedule = most important to me), on a single page with easy access to moGo. Just a suggestion .
I will have to look into incorporating the today plugins. Any ideas on how you would like this to work? I think I will have to install a plugin to test this out.
@ bigevs
The blue SMS notifier button is linked to the same lnk file as the menu item labelled SMS Inbox. If you are having trouble with one you should be having trouble with the other. So i'm not sure what is happening there. The notification is hard coded to use the lnk file too so you couldn't of messed anything up in the sets.txt file.

What’s new in 1.1?
- 1.1 can be used with Smartphones as well
- Battery power consumption reduced
- Improved interface
- additional parameters for A2DP.exe
- speakerphone support
Installation
Visit http://www.teksoftco.com section Freeware and download A2DPToggle CAB file. To learn how to install a CAB file on your device, see http://www.teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3714#3714
Configuration
After A2DPToggle is installed, you will need to pair your A2DP Wireless Stereo Device (Headset, Loudspeaker) to your Windows Mobile device.
The A2DP Device must support the service called "wireless stereo" or "audio/video". Make sure you select one of these services when pairing.
The Interface
This software comes with a sophisticated “alphablended” interface that will integrate perfectly in your today screen.
For the Pocket PC version, there are two layouts that can be used, a big fingerfriendly one, and a small layout, to save today space.
With the A2DP device paired, you can use the Play and the Stop buttons in the plugin interface. Only one of these two buttons will be visible at a time, stop, if A2DP is enabled and start if A2DP is disabled. This change comes to save some interface space.
Next to the Start/Stop button there is a Speakerphone button that you can use to enable/disable the speakerphone while in a phone call.
The third button opens the Settings Panel. signal indicator that will show your bluetooth link status.
There are two indicators as well, one for the status of the A2DP device: OK (when the pairing is correctly completed and the headset is connected to the device), Err (when the headset is not yet paired) and Off (when the headset is out of the device's Bluetooth coverage radius, or when the headset is turned off/disconnected). To be able to use "Start/Stop", this status indicator must show OK.
The second indicator shows the Bluetooth status.
The Settings Panel:
"Handle Bluetooth automatically" would turn bluetooth on when you press start (play), and off when you press stop.
"Execute file after start" would run the specified application when you press "Start/Play", by default this is set to Media Player.
"Fingerfriendly GUI" allows you to switch between the two layouts presented above.
Tested on Imate Ultimate 8150/wm6.0, HTC Universal WM5.0, eten m600+/wm5.0.
Smartphone support
From this version, A2DP Toggle can be installed on Smartphones as well (no touchscreen).
To toggle the A2DP mode on and off use the Icon in Programs. Tap on it to enable A2DP then tap again to disable it.
A2DP.exe Parameters
You can execute this module directly. The supported parameters are:
A2dp.exe –bluetooth: on|off [-a2dp: on|off] [-spk] [-switch]
Parameters:
Bluetooth enables/disables the Bluetooth radio
A2dp enables/disables voice routing to headset
Spk enables/disables speakerphone
Switch enables/disables A2DP
Using A2dp.exe without parameters is the same as using the –switch parameter.
Details regarding internal functionality
The devices that support A2DP (most wm6.0 bluetooth devices), come with 2 audio drivers installed:
1) The "Audio Output" Driver (supported since ppc 2002)
2) The "Bluetooth Advanced Audio Output" Driver, that is responsible of sending audio data over a L2CAP Bluetooth connection, as per A2DP protocol
When the user connects a Stereo A2DP headset, and selects the "Wireless Stereo" profile, the Bluetooth Adv. Audio Output becomes the nr. 1 audio output route, and is indexed as the First audio driver. Any application will output sound by using that driver.
The problem is that sometimes we are already listening to audio in the device's speakers, and then suddenly we want to switch the output to our a2dp headsets - this is sometimes problematic, as the First audio driver changes from "Audio Output" to "Bluetooth Adv. Audio Output" and the applications currently playing audio need to be restarted.
For such issues, we've provided a tool, as freeware, that will install as a today plugin and offer the user the possibility of instantly switching the audio between Device Speaker and A2DP Stereo Headset.
It is designed for WM5.0/WM6.0 and above, Microsoft Bluetooth stack, please download it and let us know how it works for you.

Any feedback on this?
I really like this tool, but I need to put Broadcom/Widcom Stack on my device to work with my headset.. So can you please make a version compatible with broadcom stack? Thank you
I have been previous version for long time and I really really like it. Very handy program for those have a BT headphone for music.
Now, for this verison. The finger friendly version is good but takes more today space hence your compress version
For suggestion for the small version.
Buttons are too small. Maybe just widen the buttons like previous versions? (there are still space on the far right hand side.)
Thank you.
I love the idea, only with this today plugin your are competing with manilla. For that, and those users, i advice standard icons for switching all the options. So i can add those to the programs tab
Edit:
I see a shortcut added directly to the start menu, my bad. Though i opt not for the start menu only, it should be at least also in the programs folder and maybe even a sub folder with all possible switches per icon.

This is a very good idea, next version will create a Shortcut Group, as you said, for all the available switches. Thanks!
I've heard that skype is working only with the speaker of the device.. with this app it's possible to swap the conversation to the speakerphone?
This is a great tool, since I can use this with M2D. If you add icons to the Programs group then the tool is even better, but I just decomposed the install and added my shortcuts to get this functionality...not hard at all.
One other question. In your registry setup you have a reg entry called ExecPath, which points to WMP. What is the use for this reg entry, and can it be changed to my media player of choice instead?
Steve
Thanks......
Have you fixed the bug which crashes my Touch Pro when used with TouchFlo3D running?

the speakerphone button can be used while talking on the phone.
skype output goes to the speakerphone by default, phone conversations go to the earpiece speaker.

Thanks. Shortcuts should be added soon, but I'm waiting for more ideas before making a new release.
ExecPath is used by the a2dptoggle today plugin, if option "Execute file after Start" is enabled, after pressing Start the path in ExecPath is executed, and yes you can change this to your fav player.

Not yet. I need to search this forum and see if TouchFlo3D can be installed on other devices then intended.
BTW: you can enable DebugMode from the registry, by settings the key :
HKLM\Software\Teksoft\A2DPToggle\EnableDebug to 1. Then reset the device and notice the log files in the root of the device. Run a few tests then send me the files.

Anyone else tested this together with touchflo?
I'm using Widcomm/Broadcom Stack 1.7.1 Build 3400 you can download here.
I installed your programm and it shows [Err] on the Headset Icon and [Off] on the BT Icon, but BT is on!
I really love your programm but I have to use this stack, cause with MS Stack I can't hear music..

Revamp panel UI as a navigation dashboard, instead of Garmin or TomTom navigation screen. Garmin/TomTom will be activated/displayed on demand.
I have posted something related to the topic in another thread, but thought I would now create a thread separately to discuss this topic, given that there's some progress being made over the weekends.
Of course, this panel was developed as a prototype, based on a personal need, as well as for me to examine what panel SDK has to offer. so it may not necessary be suitable/useful for others (different spin for different people!). But I do welcome feedbacks/ideas, if it helps to bring the panel development to a new height
After I owned the Xperia, and read about the concept behind the panel, I thought it was a very innovative idea. The point about panel, in my own interpretation, is that different people has different primary usage of the pda phone, and for each individual, the primary usage also changes based on a certain event or time of the day. For e.g, when I'm in the office/meeting, I uses the phone PIM software to ensure that I don't miss the next meeting. Once I'm taking my break, or having some personal entertainment time, I would be either watching a movie or listening to mp3. Each panel indicates the primary "theme" of the moment, and so I thought I could create something similiar when I'm in my car.
So there comes the idea of Navigation panel, since I always switch on my Garmin Mobile XT, while making sure that the volume is set to the maximum while my car's handsfree carkit is connected to my pda phone.
The prototype has shaped very well over the long weekend.
1. Garmin Mobile XT is the background application for the panel (could extend to other navigation applications such as TomTom or Mapking)
2. Automatically set the volume to maximum, turn on bluetooth (so that I can connect to my car's handsfree carkit), rotate the screen to landscape mode
3. Toggling panel (i.e. pressing of the panel button) will quit the Garmin application automatically. Quitting Garmin (i.e. pressing the 'X' button in the UI) will switch back to the panel list page (finally found the way to call the panel manager, but would be checking with nelsh to see if there's a better way to manage this)
4. Will automatically revert back to the original volume level, bluetooth mode and orientation once the panel is unloaded.
5. Could have turn on the display brightness to maximum and disable pin-lock, but at this point, I have not done anything since I don't need them yet grin.gif
here's the video clip of the prototype in action

yes, that's the plan, but it means I have to start working on the configuration UI, which I have not done so yet. However, I do need the executable path of Tomtom, and the window name of Tomtom, so if you can provision these information, I can work on it later.

I hope I can release the alpha version this weekend for limited testing. The current panel is alittle flakey, so that's what I'm hoping to resolve in the next few days.

Probably more for my own requirements. I don't need to use bluetooth unless I'm in my car (so that the phone can connect to my BT car kit) In anycase, it doesn't turn off once the panel exits, it merely reset back to the last bluetooth mode prior to the navigation panel activation.
Would be looking at TomTom as well. If you could disable all notifications (maybe allow incoming calls) from poping up, and then return them back to the previous state on exit that would be REALLY useful.
well I'm just suggesting here, but perhaps it will be better if panels are for things that DON'T NEED to be able for multitasking ---> that is multi'panels', like TF3D and others UIs out there; because IMO it is useless if an important application had to be stopped just because we need to see our real today screen regardless what application is that.
so tomtom normaly installs here on german rom:
\programme\navigator\tomtom navigator.exe
window name should be "Tomtom Navigator"
Zenkinz, could you tell me where you got that System Status tweak for Xperia?
I found something called HTC Enlarge Title Bar in an old Kaiser post, but it doesn't seem to do anything on my phone.

Get the HTC Enlarge Title bar for HTC HD
The panel does nothing here
I installed the cab, softrested the phone and chose the panel. Then I just see the Panel picture and the phone freezes. Not even the power button works, had to remove the battery.
Are there any programs that need to be installed for using the panel?
I use the TomTom Navigator which is installed on the Memory Card.
Update:
Okay, after a few more restarts the panel doesn't cause a crash anymore. But it does not seem to find the TomTom software, so everytime it starts it turns the screen as I wanted and then puts me back to the Today-Panel.

did you guys run the option setting UI? Go to panel manager, select the tool button (at the bottom right corner), then select the nav panel, and click on the 'tool' icon.
Tried this out and the panel loads and the reverts back to my original panel. Does garmin need to be in a specific location for this to work? If so where? and what is the file name the panel is looking for?
