So, I have my MDA, and when it rings, it rings nice and loud for about 2 seconds, then goes really quiet, has anyone else had this? How do I fix this?
Well I figured this out..................It was because voice command was trying to announce the incoming call as well. I disabled this feature, and all is well.

Installed Voice Command 1.5 and all is well.
Apart from the fact that the voice is really quiet when announcing the callerID for an incoming call.
It is fine when announcing other stuff.
My laymans diagnosis is that the voice seems to be coming through on the same channel as the ringtone and so when voice command automatically lowers the volume for the ringer, it has the knockon effect of making itself really quiet too. Tried using WAV and MP3 ringtones... all the same
This is really annoying as callerID is so useful for answering calls with the screen closed
Anyone else got or fixed this?
Same problem - Any Solutions yet
Stu
Nope, no solution yet.
Could anyone let us know if they have voice command working fully on any flavour of the HTC Universal.
Let us know if when you get an incoming call the ringer volume is lowered but the voice announcement remains at proper volume? If so it means it is working and there is something duff on mine and Pegasus626's devices
There's also an issue with the "SHOW CONTACTNAME" command as on mine it comes up blank and you have to try to edit the notes to see the details!!! odd
I am beginnning to think we may have to wait till voice command 2.0!

setup ringtone to vibration only and you can hear the voice announcement very well
U.d.o, thanks for that. that's the closest i've got so far
still bloomin quiet though.
odd that if you set vibrate on from the today screen it turns off the volume to the pda too. Can only do it by setting both volumes full then going into settings > phone > vibrate only
On your device U.d.o, is it still much quieter than other announcements such as battery level?
I really enjoy using Microsoft Voice Command especially for announcing the name of the incoming call. The problem i am having is that the volume is very low and i cannot hear it sometimes even with the system and phone volume set to the highest. I noticed that the incoming voice is actually lower then when it repeats things back to me like looking up contacts. anyone know how to fix this?

On my 8125, when ever I answer an incoming call with the button on my bluetooth headset, the caller gets a brief loud noise. I have tried several different bluetooth headsets and received the same issue. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any ideas on fixing this? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Wow, I've been having the same problem. My wife always complains because whenever I answer with my BT headset she gets the loud noise in her ear. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let us know.
Bump- I have the same issue...is it the BT stack- does anyone have some advice on what to check?
Thanks.

People get REALLY upset when it happens, they say its VERY loud. So I've been having to answer on the phone.. THEN activate the BT. NOT very safe while driving!!
Well....interesting. I hear the SAME thing from people that call me on my 8125. I am obviously not alone.
Curious - is everyone using Voice Command? Could this be the culprit?
OK- I found out what the problem was with MY phone...it was the vibrate option.
My phone was set to "vibrate AND ring"- this caused the noise when answering calls only (to the calling party).
Setting it to "Ring" or "Vibrate THEN ring" and waiting for the vibrate to complete prior to answering the call stopped all the noise...
Hope that this helps!
Thanaks for the input it works for me.
Ken
Cool. My wife and coworkers are going to be very happy about this. I've had people refuse to call me due to that loud noise when I answer (they send me an SMS asking me to call them )
When I answer my phone or dial someone, I hear my reminder sound three times. (Not through the back speaker though)
Very annoying, because then I don't hear what the other person is saying.
Also sometimes my phone gives a vibrate for no reason.
Is anybody experiencing the same?
Is there a fix for this issue?
Anyone else having this issue? My phone is stock. All volumes are at max, nothing on vibrate. When I receive a call, I see the phone say incoming call but no sound and its incredibly frustrating. I keep missing phone calls. A google search reveals nothing for the 6p but results for the Nexus 5 having the issue. Is there a fix for this?
