Hi !
I recompiled/optimized another one of my games, so it should work better on most PocketPC (and on WinCE 5 devices).
Znax is puzzle game in which you'll have to click 4 tiles of the same color and form squares as big as you can.
All the tiles inside the rectangle will be erased, and you will get points.
2 input methods are available :
- Click on the 4 corners, forming a rectangle , and it'll remove the blocks
- Drag the cursor from the top left corner to the bottom right (or any specific order, in fact)
The bigger the rectangle , the more points you get. You only have 3 minutes to have a maximum score, so you better hurry up !!!
Time is running...
Adapted from the flash game of the same name and Birslip's DS port
Complete changelog :
- No more invalid moves
- Smoother/faster changes
- New input method : simple drag
- Support for WinCE 5 systems
- Optimised CPU/battery use
- New menu with possibility to check the top scores
- Hitting quit when playing returns to menu
Download Znax
Still working hard Mollusk, I'll try it now.
Thanks
glad to see that the invalid selection bug was fixed. The new input method makes the game much more fun. Good job!

Thanks to you ! I'll add more game modes when I get more time, so if you have any crazy/wacky ideas, feel free to post
what about a Bi-Planes type game? i remember a old game where there were two biplanes with a tower in the middle, and you took off and had to shoot each other down, so much fun you could have the planes follow the stylus... just a idea
keep up the good work!

i'll have a look around, there was a flash re-make i had, i'll try and find a link.
Found one called 2D Dogfight for Linux, if you google it or google image search, you will find it. apparently it was Intellivision and Amiga who first came up with it, called 'BIP' or 'BiPlanes'.
Cheers

Thanks Fun little game !
lol tis indeed. So, what do u think about a PPC remake? should be easy enough i would have thought
I'll give it a try some day, but I already have like 5 projects pending ^^
lol awsum
is there a mobile version of the XFlib site?
Cheers
Yes !
http://ppc.xflib.net/
It's hosted on my old server, though, so the numbers aren't right as it doesn't access the database... I'll have to update that some day ^^ But it points on the correct files, so you get the latest versions anyways.
If anyone has a quick tip to autoredirect PocketPC and low resolution devices to that site, would be awesome !
Oh, and apparently sometimes IE Mobile opens the .cab as a text file instead of saving it, kind of crappy, not sure what to do about that :s
Amazingly good bunch of games. I've installed all of them, other than Soduku (I will, however, donate next paycheck), and they're just superbly done. Great for standing around at an office or waiting for the doctor, or anytime the brain needs to move.
Thanks a lot vpoet
xflib.net should now automatically redirect PocketPCs to ppc.xflib.net Can anyone confirm this ?
Hi guys
I come right to the point: has anybody found any good working snes emulators for the xperia? It is the perfect device to play on considering that u can put it in landscape mode and just use the keyboard. Unfortunately, none of the emus I ve tried seem to work - especially not in landscape mode.
is there something I have missed or is there none? are there any other good emulators for consoles u can recommend?
thx
im also searching. nothing good so far
I have pocketsnes up and running using the vga screen tweak
http://www.modaco.com/content/smartphone-software-games/237589/pocketsnes-1-53/
not working for me ... the version that u attached to your last post doesnt work on my phone .. whenever I click on load rom nothing happens .. it wont even go into the menue where I m supposed to load the rom from
but assuming that I get around this, what exactly is the vga tweak?!

I believe that in order to get the ROMs able to load, you need to have the PocketSNES.exe file in the same dir as the ROMs. It sucks for organized people, but this is the only way that I could get it to find the ROMs.
Performance still isn't the greatest, but if more ppl start to get WinMo devices, maybe we'll see a rewrite of these emulators since they're all from 2002-2003.
Hope that ROM loading info helps anyways!
pocketsnes 1.53 loads and looks well
BUT, same problem...
when I click Load ROM...
nothing happens.... I have the smc files in the same folder as the program and i've tried to do it with and without folders both in my documents and programs
too bad
The solution :
Google for
tgetfile
and install it.
It will work then

I also use Morphgear and the SNES emulation is fast, pretty and fullscreen.

Okay then, you start morphgear with the keyboard pulled out. Then you go to the Global Settings and set the Driver to "GDI" and uncheck "Disable Full Screen". Screen orientation should be North.
After that you go to the SNES settings and set the Screen Size to "Auto scale".
That works for me.

No prob,
you just have to open the SNES options and check the box "enable sound". I just tried syndicate, terranigma and mario kart and the sound works good -I wouldn't say "perfect" because it sometimes seem to be a bit slow, but with 22kHz it's okay to play in this state.
hi, can someone give me a link or send me pocketsnes as i dont really want to sign up to the forum just to download it
Holy shi- , performance with morphgear is BAAAD! Totally the opposite of my expectations.
My S.E. M600 has a 208mhz ARM9 based chipset and it plays Sega Genesis games with high quality sound without any lag at all. GBA games on the M600 was worse compared to genesis, but still beter then this POS gaming experience.
Totally not worth the time it took to download the software and bluetoothing a 16mb ROM over from the m600 to the x1.

It's definitely not the best, I agree. If someone knows a better Emulator that runs smooth and in fullscreen, he's welcome

M600? Correct me if im wrong but isnt this an X1 forum? Morphgear works 100% speed on my x1 without sound but I agree still a tiny bit laggy on the controls and room for small improvement.
"not worth the time it took to download the software" - mine is about 2meg, you mean that oh so painful 5 seconds??
"Bluetoothing a 16mb ROM" - right you might wanna check that one mate. I have 1578 SNES ROMS and the largest one is 5mb. that might be a source of your troubles
"POS Gaming experience" - I would attribute this to your totally rad & cool "208mhz ARM9 based chipset" (that being your phone is the POS not the software).
Try talking to some people in the M600 forum about this instead of just showing up on the X1 pages and throwing vicious words around where they're not wanted.
Oh thats right, there isnt one...
*Cue Flaming Me..... Now!*
Hi All,
Really interested in getting this snes emulation working ok my X1, going to be a silly question but where do you guys get the games? On the website I go to for the emulator it says "coming soon" under the games tab
Are they available freeware ? can someone point me to somewhere where i can get them freeware or purchase them?
Cheers,
Craig

No need for flame, we're in the same boat anyway . I have my Xperia X1 for about 3 weeks now and i mentioned the S.E. M600i just for comparison (overall the M600 is no match for my new X1). But what i mean is, that vBax and PicoDrive for UIQ3 on a phone with a ARM9 208mhz chipset outperforms MorphGear for WM on a phone with a ARM11 528mhz chipset.
Silly isnt it?
Oh, and i dont see myself mentioning the 16MB ROM being a SNES game , do you?
I have a need for speed game for the tp2 that works with the g sensor and is pretty damn fun. I just loaded the .cab file and it worked flawlessly. Its friggin cool. Adding some screenshots don't know if I'm allowed to post the actual game or not so I will wait till someone tells me its cool. if you want it before then pm me with your email and I'll send it to you as soon as possible. thanks to thugs dude you rock.
PM sent (= And thanks for sharing with all of us!
Many thanks Justin - works perfectly
No Problem, Will try to find more to keep us busy till the SPL is here.
I have a question about the NFS: Undercover game.
I have the game aswell on my TP2. But it plays in portrait mode native, unless you slide out the keyboard, then i goes landscape.
Now on my friends Touch HD, it plays in landscape mode natively. Any idea how i can change it so it will do that on my TP2 aswell?
Playing with the keyboard out is less effective then without, since you still have to press some buttions on the screen.
Thanks in advance.
I have tried myself. I would think that you would have to set your screen rotation so that it changes without the sliding of the keyboard. I have only had the game myself for about 3 days so if I find a definite solution I will lwt you know. Im still getting used to modding these phones as the switch from ttyn II to rapheal to rhodium was incredibly fast for me and the fact that not all are compatible when using modifications is frustrating as hell, I get to know one device and not all that well might I add when a new one comes out. Oh to have all my problems come in a sweet little package with a bright screen and keyboard.
These kinds of games don't belong on an ARM device. The Touch Pro 2 is strictly a business end pocket PC. I'm waiting to see what the HTC Superstar has in store when it comes out
The only games that should be created for the TP2 are G-sensor games, like the Teeter. Unfortunately no one ever develops decent applications for Windows Mobile at the moment, they all focus on the iPhone.
This game works with the g-sensor. Try it before you knock it man its cool being able to steer by tilting your device.
Can anyone post a CAB or download link??? I now have the version with touch control but would really like the gsensor version!!!
PM sent. Awaiting reply anxiously. Thanks a lot.
PM Sent Any one can share this game?
Pm sent, thanks

Did you manage to set it to autorotate? I tried to add the NFS_Underground.exe tot the HTC sensor whitelist in the registry but it doesn tilt. Only when I flip the keyboard it runs in landscape...
hey, please send me a link to that game too. I get my touch pro 2 this week
thanx
gyrator2 will put the game in landscape mode just fine, just be sure to not tilt the phone too far in corners or it will flip the game back to portrait for a bit
And yes, this game is a paid app normally, so spreading it would be piracy. It is however easy to find on the internets (try the name of the game and the name of a well known p2p protocol on google )

It doesn't work with Toshiba TG01. There is a information that I need to switch my resolution to VGA and game does not start...
(HTC Touch Pro [vga])
Its a good start, needs a lot of work. The buttons need to be moved down cause they are hovering over the ground so you can not see your character most of the time. The collision detection is bad (I can jump right through 90% of the turtle's body and the goombas do not work).
Also, to quit I had to restart phone.
Its a lot further than I ever made with my mario clone attempts, so keep working.

On 24th Dec 2009 Schtruck from fpsece.net released his new version of FPSEce. On the website www.fpsece.net you can download FPSE v0.10 for free or get a version for a small donation of €5,- with the ability to save whereever you are whenever you like
It bringt speed-improvement, a new core, new GUI and supports a lot of more games now.
Even a new website is launched.
It's not like v0.96 which quits on my Xperiy 28of30 times I tried to run it... and it makes games more playable, really! (but I only testes with Final Fantasy VII right now - that's what I wanted the emu for .
Hope you enjoy it and if you like it, buy the supporter-version to support the future developement of this software.
I guess it's a really good Idea to give supporters that special-feature but keep the normal version for free! So you can use the software as long as you like.
Wow cool, I'll have to give this a shot!
@Cysign thanks for posting this, I'm having a problem trying to configure the keys with the Hardware keyboard every time I put it to Landscape and the screen goes black and just shows the FPS. How do I configure the PS1 buttons with the X1 keyboard. And my last question is when you load the game you want to play, after the sony logo pops up is the game supposed to Automatically play??? I'm trying to Run DinoCrisis 2 but so far having no luck. Edit : I used pocket ISO to rip the image.

Hi to all!
I have a problem. When I set MultiFix=1 it is finally possible to bind more buttons on my I740, but it becomes impossible to use on-screen buttons and arrows.
Does anybody know how can I use both of them???
PS: sorry for my English
I start FPSE with keyboard-slided-out in portrait-mode (I use Wisbar to manually rotate screen if I need...). But you don't need this.
If you slide out keyboard, you can press the upper left corner (near the FPS-counter !!! ) to go back to portrait-mode.
Then just configute your keys and when I want to go back to landscape-view I close and open Keyboard again. When I use the screen-rotate-button FPSE leafes and I have to restart my device.
If images don't work using PocketISO try with uncompressed ISO.
I.E. Final Fantasy VIII works on my device without compression and when I use PocketISO it doesn't. But could be a setting in PocketISO - haven't figured out this right now.
If you find bugs please report them to the FPSE-forum!

sorry...PS1 games are that cheap that I only rip my own games for playing (I bought Final Fantasy VII-XII for my PS2, which has no chip inside)...I don't download games which I can buy original for less than €20,- .
But perhaps it's your ripping-tool...a wrong setting?
I have trouble getting FF VIII and IX work - tried to rip them twice, I'm currently waiting in FPSE-board for a solution... I'm sure I get the problems by ripping my CDs.
When FPSEce website is lannched completly there should be a compatibility-list which perhaps has additional information for ripping your games and there'll be a wiki. I'm sure it'll get users closer to solve their problems
holy crap i cant believe this day has finally come. i have been following this project for atleast a year.
Hmm. I downloaded it the other day and right now I'm playing Diablo 1 on it. Works very good, better than I expected it.
First my games did not load and my phone rebooted everytime I tried to play. But now I installed in ON THE DEVICE, running games from my memory card. Works flawlessly.
I have to use frameskipping for Diablo 1 though. I consider supporting the developers because it's great software!
gonna try the non delay ff7 fighting scenes thanks for the info!
I have a few bugs to report. on my symbol mc35 it crashes at startup with around 30MB free ram.
on my touch pro it works fine in portrait mode but if i open the keyboard i cant reconfigure the buttons.
@key-config
slip out keyboard, FPSE changes to landscape-mode. now press near/on the FPS-counter. FPSE turns back to portrait-mode. configure your buttons and than ! don't use the orientation-buttons (this may crash FPSE - at least on xperia!) slip keyboard in and out again to switch to portrait-mode again.
that's an already known bug... you guys should read fpse-board here it is: http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=265&p=4807&sid=533071d203f08d489360950cef119a84#p4807 (there's also another problem with omnia...but one guy postet it's solution^^)
This emulator drains battery very fast!!
I was playing FF9 without wall charger.. After 40 minutes i think, the battery ran out! Not able to save without saving point how good if i have save state feature...
