Hi,
An email synchronization application (Intellisync) has replaced my password screen with its own which has small buttons, difficult to press
Is there a way to reset the password screen to the initial or to something else ?
Thanks,
Cristian

Hi,
I have XDA Exec, and after a bit of hard work the machine has been working fine for about a month. However, today for no apparant reason one of my soft keys has broken.
The particular key, is the "New" email softkey in "Messaging". Funnily enough its broken in any of my email accounts (including if I add a new one) but SMS account and Activesync email accounts still work ok. When I say broken, I mean that the left key on screen to start a new message doesn't do anything. The right hand key which brings up other menu options is still fine.
Has anyone else come across this - and if so is there any alternative to hard reset (which is where I'm thinking this will all end up!), since any number of soft resets makes absolutely no difference at all.
Thanks
Sorry - should have confirmed. Soft resetting the machine, makes absolutely no difference at all.
Hi guys,
I hope I can put my question here
My problem is after I synchronized my TyTn with my computer at work, there's automaticly a password lock set for 5 minutes. So If I don't do anything after 5 minutes my screen will lock and he'll ask my password. I have also TomTom on my TyTn and if I'm running it, the screen will also lock after 5 min and when I'm driving my car and want to see the directions on my display and not the password screen
I can't turn off the password in the settings/lock screen. Is there some other way to disable the password screen or change the time from 5 min to 30 min? Maybe through changes in the registry?
Hope anyone can help me!

You need to have a higher security policy than exchnage does to alter the password. I belive that the keys are protected in the metabase by the manager role...
You could always write an app which mimics the touch being touched every 4:30?
This is EXASPERATING !
The password screen pop up always after 1 mn without touching screen.
This is independant of the settings.
Is there a possibility to modify this behaviour ?
Thanks in advance.
do you use exchange push mail? policies can invoke password screen.
I spoke about the Universal password.
It appears even if you do nothing after 1 mn and even if you do anything except touching the screen.
If you watch TV it appears, if you watch video it appears, if you phone it appears...
Exasperating !
My previous XDA IIs didn't do that.

are you sure that you don't use the "password protect" in the settings???
You could always remove the password.....
Maybe it's something to do with both screen blanking and keyboard timeout settings. Not just one but 2 different settings.
Yes, I use the "password settings" and I want it, but I don't want the password screen which appear itself after one minute.
The setting is "0 minute".
I want it if I switch off the PDA but I don't want it itself as a "screensaver" after one minute !

Me too
Hi all, this is happening to me too. I've just installed 'Jwrightmcps Crossbow ROM Update 2.02.02 WWE', and the Universal asked me for a password when I configured push email (like it did under WM5).
However, unlike WM5, it now comes on after just a moment of inactivity - it also demands a password when the machine's been woken up by a phone call, meaning so far I've missed every call I've had, while I'm entering my PIN (infact, I'm worried that this PIN entering process is causing the call to hang up).
Any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance.
Finally figured out how to bypass that annoying email/password screen, i think this could help many peoples who do not want to Hard reset their gphone :
- Make a call to your gphone and respond.
- Just after closing the call, push repeatedely on "Home" button and there you are,
it works ... but it's not the case, we have some other things to do ...
- First, go to settings and disable that buggy Unlock Pattern feature.
- The problem is not yet solved, the buggy login/pass screen is still here hidden
somewhere, and will go back if you put your phone on sleep mode (disable screen
autoshutdown to keep your phone awake and your time with next tricks.
- Go to the gmail website and reset your password with a new one.
- After few seconds (you could also force a mail sync) Android will show you a small
triangle on the top status bar to warn you that you have to re-enter the new password
you have setup on gmail. After entering the new password, sync with google will be ok.
You can after that push the power to go back to that crappy email/password screen and
enter your email and new password, but that time the authentication will be
successful and your Android will be completely unlocked.
Hope this helped a lot of users like me.... give me feedback if it worked...
And sorry for my crappy English..
can we give password to messages (inbox)
what i do is set my phone to lock after 1min. Also useful if phone getx stolen, as they have to hard reset to use it.
Start-settings-lock i think.
