sprint tv with new update still wont work....
One channel works (fantasy football)
The rest of the channels dont ... once i click on the channel a alert windows say"Loading subscription information. Please try again in a few seconds"...
I try every channel every hour and still nothing... anybody else exper. this???? does anybody know how to fix this.. i tried the old cache.zip trick with no success...

Are you on SERO? If so, basic TV is not part of the plan.

I'm on sprint wireless in California and I have the simply everything plan.

Watch Sprint POWER VISION TV on PPC 6700?

There has GOT to be some way to move the application that runs the Sprint levision services from the newer PPC model to the PPC 6700!!?.. right?
PLEASE.
HELP ME.
I spent all this money on the phone and I cant use the TV services.
I dont believe the Sprint Package will work on this one. Try going to http://mobile.k-disk.com . Most of the sprint stations are also there, for FREE
Hummm....
That website seems to NOT contain anything pertaining to the Sprint TV question. I registered on the website in hopes there would be more option.
Nada.
Any other tips?

Sprint TV working again

Install the attached CAB in zip
replace Program Files/SprintTV/Cache with the attached cache folder in zip
Worked for me, although some channels are showing unavailable. Something is better than nothing!
where do install the cache folder Do I overwrite the existing one? Thanks
Yes, if you have not installed the app before, install it and start it. It will create the folder after running the intro movie and try to load the channel list. Close the program out at this point, overwrite the folder (it takes a bit, be patient), and then restart the program. Should be good to go. That's the steps that I took anyway.
still not working for me
I am still gedtting the unauthorized user error.
it works at first for me but anytime i try to open a channel it says "this channel is currently unavailable (7000)". Ive tried pretty much every channel. anyone know why?
Sprint needs to get off it's ass and offer this to us Mogul users as well.
It's pathetic that a phone that costs half of our Mogul gets this, while we get nothing (unless you consider Sprint Music to have any value).
worked great the first time for me, now no channels load up. going to recopy cache folder, see if that does it, but i don't want to have to do that each time...

I just raised this exact issue over at Buzz About Wireless. It makes no sense that EVERY Windows Mobile phone available from Sprint includes Sprint TV except the Mogul.
The least they should do is offer it as a free download for any Mogul owners who are interested.
Doug
now check this out. 3 tried installing MobiTV and i get the same channel not available msg. so something is up. and also i installed sprint tv on my tmobile MDA and it works fine. whats up with that

if you burnt sprint tv into the rom (for 6700) or if you had it already installed (on your mogul) then you need to:
burnt into 6700 rom - either reburn w/o sprint tv or try install fresh copy of sprint tv....
already on mogul - uninstall previous installation and reinstall...go thru the necessary steps and your done
btw...i have a 6700
This is bull crap....the newest sprint phone out there dosen't do things an old boat anker can do.
The cache work around works in 2.17. I just tried it out a few min ago and also last night. Unfortunately if you happen to wonder too far and try a channel that doesn't work it says "This channel is currently unavailable (7000)" or something like that then re-checks the subscriptions. Once this happens it wont display channels anymore. The key is stopping it from rechecking/updating the cache folder/subscriptions. Perhaps it can be re-engineered to block this. Or If someone keeps developing and updating the cache folder perhaps we can have one that shows only channels that will work continuously or something.
I went back in a deleted the cache folder and replaced it again and it worked. It's a pain to have to do this after almost every time you use it heh. It was working fine until I tried some channels that weren't showing.

I second that, and, no, I don't.
is this better than handitv?
Installed last night, updated the cache after install. SprintTV loads, but on the channel selection menu, the stations just stay in a "loading" state...
Any thoughts/suggestions?
try deleting the cache folder again and copying the one with the 4 folders back over. I have to do that every other day to keep it working.

I seem to be one of the few with the inside info on this app. We have beat this topic to death on other forums, but allow me to share some info with you all here.
Channel 7000 error is similiar to a web404, meaning the channel is only temporarily unavailable (perhaps bandwith, perhaps far more users than anticipated). This is a MobiTV powered product with similiar channel issues reported as well by Mobi users.
Sprint is attempting to verify subscribers at the server level using a unique combination of handset and application info. The cache replacement is a temp fix and has to be "reset" in order to continue to use the service. Short of cloning a Touch ESN/IMEI there may not be other options at this time.
It was communicated to me that Sprint indeed intends on releasing this product with a future ROM update (no eta was clarified). Other versions of STV released on non Windows Mobile phones are supposedly java based making the Touch the first Sprint WM device.
Power Vision users have basic TV included, premium channels have additional subscription fees or users can upgrade to Vision Ultimate which includes Premium TV.

If only I had a blackberry....
Seriously though, why not take your $100 and buy an Android phone to Wifi tether with? My DInc works great for tethering with my Archos 101!
in case this doesn't work
http://www.android-hilfe.de/archos-...er-das-handy-mit-dem-tablet-ins-internet.html
it just says pair your phone with the archos, setup bluetooth tethering via DUN and enter the apn server in the archos + maybe login info (i left that emtpy since my provider doens't require it)
but if you can spare 100bucks. why dont you buy those little portable wifi hotspots.
just put in a sim card and connect it via wifi to your archos.
they are about as big as a egg.
You can email me from the site and I will help you do it. I have it working on my iPad to my Verizon Blackberry Bold. The model Blackberry and network is important to know.
Blackberry bold 9700 here! I don't mind being a test dummy for someone, just shoot me a pm.
It is a known issue that the Archos Gen 8 cannot currently tether to the Blackberry's. Tethering to Iphone and android phones seems to work in most cases but there is an issue with Blackberrys. I have a company issued Blackberry and it would be much simplier to pay the extra $15 a month for the data plan then get another phone or hot spot device and pay for and carry that around along with my Blackberry. I have a model 9000 but am due for an upgrade so I can change to a different model if need be. We utilize AT&T as the carrier. There is a developer over on ArchosFans forum who is also trying to get some other parties to chip in for him to develop this app.
Thanks
Dan
Already working on this
I have had this same offer on the archosfans forum and had been exploring getting it working on my BB 9700 before selling it. It doesn't matter what network it is on. There are things missing in the config for Archos because of the difference in the way carriers set up in Europe as opposed to the US. I was most of the way there. I'm looking for $300 to do it and have $100 already. It also gives me some people to test the code.
PM me if interested.
so to sum it all up blackberries can't tether to android at the moment correct?

Why do I bother? Yes. It doesn't freaking work! When I do get a few more things out of the way I will surely be asking myself if this is actually more than an idle curiosity for people. Before I dumped my 9700 I tried every possible option which includes several available programs. Anything on BlackBerry App world and anything I could google. No joy! Read my post again. I know it can be made to work with 100% certainty.
PDAnet is $50. Apparently an actual developer willing to make it work isn't worth a PM or a cent. I'm really starting to wonder if it is worth my time.
but you can use the demo of pdanet for blackberry right? You hit enable yada yada yada paired it and it still didn't work over pdanet's bluetooth DUN?
Ide try but I'm waiting for someone to find a solution for one of these tablets so then i'll buy one
"but you can use the demo of pdanet for blackberry right? You hit enable yada yada yada paired it and it still didn't work over pdanet's bluetooth DUN?"
Just so everyone knows. There is currently no way to tether the blackberry to the Archos, none, nada no matter what software you try to use. That is why we need a programmer to write the code. We have one willing to do this (Sequiter) if people will PM him and let him know they will pay for it.
CDMA tether working on verizon . I rooted my archos 32 then i used some of the info from this site http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=18053 I got my phone to connect and i was online .. It's a bit of a pain and it will only work in root . I am hoping now that this info works and connects someone can make a small program that will make it easy to do ... My bb connected 1st show .. My wifes e815 that i keep around for FREE internet connected but drops after 30 secs I think there needs to be a username @vzw3g.com and password when tether to the e815 . I am looking into how to add this in the chat part now
Hope this helps .. I will be up all night geting 100% working ..
If you like to root your device I used this setup .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880321
Also it makes it easy to copy of the tether stuff using ADB !
opps !! when in rooted dev side .. after you reboot it removes the files ... So I gess i will need to make something that will copy the 3 files each time i need to tether .. e815 to work also just added user [email protected] and password vzw
I will have more info soon on it ..
Thanks
Folks,
I have a BB Tour and I might have that $100 solution today. I am waiting on a device today that should allow me to turn my BB into a wifi hotspot. It is very small/portable. It is from Cradlepoint and called the PHS300 personal wifi hotspot.
I will report back today if I get it to work!
As for why not get a new phone? I plan on it, but want to wait for new Android 4gLTE phones to hit the market, which are a few months away.
Folks,
I have a US Verizon Wireless Blackberry Tour 9630 that tethered with my A70 via Bluetooth right out of the box, and continues to do so reliably. I understand that there are many issues with tethering BB's with the Gen8's, but I just wanted to inject some facts here. It's not *all* Blackberrys.
There have been many threads over on archosfans.com forums about this issue. Hopefully, if Archos is paying any attention at all, they'll recognize that this is one of the top complaints that they're getting and address it with the next firmware release. I feel like I got really lucky that mine works. If it hadn't, I'd have put the A70 right back in the box and sent it back where I got it from.
Cradlepoint also works great I have the 350 ... And you can run the Cradlepoint off 4 AA batts with a Easy DIY plug and battery case .. It says it gets 3 - 3 1/2 hours .. I ran mine on batts today for the 1st time watched some videos and lite web .. It will still working after an hour or more ..
I tested it with 3 phones
e815
vx6800
BB
all work great ..
But i can also tether BT over command line Term .. But it is a pain in the A## to redo copy the files and stuff eatch time .. I kind of like the Cradlepoint better as you can connect upto 6 ofther wifi devices at the same time ..
CompFreek,
Thanks for confirming it will work. Other than liking to tweek now and again, I am more about ease than anything else. I am stoked about getting it. I was bummed when I received my package from Amazon on Monday and they sent me the wrong item. I will have the real deal tomorrow.
Would still like to know how you manage to do it via blue tooth method. What thread has the deets or can you walk me through it?
Thanks bud!
Post #14 on this page will get you started VIA BT .. It works good just a real pain i need to make some kind of auto copy .. this way when you reboot it will recopy the 3 files need for BT to work on CDMA .. As root !! I am still trying to put something better to gether for that setup .. I have an programer working on a small program for DUN /CDMA now that I know it works . I wish I knew a way to export the software out of the nokia 810 to android it has the best setup for tether and a great wizard for the setup to any network I tested so meny wireless CO on the n810 and that all work great ..
You will still love the Cradlepoint it's nice to have .. I tether my laptop and android a32 at the same time it's great ..
Blutooth Tethering Android Client.
The problem with the craddlepoint is to have to carry an extra thing with you....I've used the Aluratek ...and it was great...but straight connection would be nice.
People have had succes with CDMA versions of BB but just not GSM Version.
Computerfreek, would GSM version work with your method?
Also, I'm asking people who have the know how ...to conisider creatin a bluetooth Tethering Android client. The equivalent of the Archos Builtin client....that would work on not just Archos but also gtab and other tablets lacking this BT Tethering feature...
I would try a lot of these tablets if I knew I can BT Tether them to my phone.
The client would also just make BB Tethering possible....
A smart guy from China wrote the ibluever app to tether iphone, ipad, ipod touch to any other phone. His first version did not have BB support. His second version does have BB support and people have been using it like crazy. Well Android lack such client. PdaNet is not the equivalent ...I wrote them to try to get them to write something similar but got only a standard response from the support person. What we need is Client to sit on Android device like, the archos BT Tethering routine. Ibluever has been selling...and I believe if someone write this for Android..not just Archos only, he will sell it well...very well...and at the same time help the Android fans.

HTC1 and Media Link - Tethering Required!

I'm having a WTF moment.
Got my preorder One last Thursday and have been having trouble getting it to connect to the Media Link HD dongle.
First, it seems to connect and pass through image to the TV but I get a message saying something like "be sure the TV is properly configured". Then, I get other messages saying that WiFi Hotspot needs to be enabled and to go to the AT&T website, or dial 611.
After over a half hour with a service rep, I was told that the Media Link requires a WiFi hotspot, which in turn requires that Tethering be provisioned on the account... for another $20 per month for a 5gig plan. Suffice to say I told the supervisor I was eventually passed along to that the practice of incentivizing customers to preorder and stay with the company by offering a free dongle only to be trapped into spending more money every month to use it is a tactic worthy of Tony Soprano.
The part that confuses the hell out of me is that if the Media Link and phone both connect through my WiFi router, why would Tethering/Hotspot to connect to the AT&T data network even be necessary?
So, anyone else have this problem and a workaround?

Like? Not even sure where to begin. The phone connects to my router just fine, so that's not it. This is a real head-scratcher.
Have you tried changing out of game mode? If its not that they are forcing you to use hotspot to spend more on monthly charges ergo why it was free. Or one more possibility its just a mistake in the software and they will fix it in a future update. I'm glad I don't have att. I hope for the best you don't have to use your own data, just to use the media link

No, you definitely do not need tethering / hotspot on your account. I use the Media Link HD with my One (AT&T version) without any issues and I don't have tethering on my account.
Make sure the firmware on your MediaLink is up to date and both it and your One are correctly connected to your WiFi hotspot. Also, be aware that any complex security settings on your hotspot could give you trouble.

The firmware version of my adapter is 5.19.103.1 with no unusual settings on my router, which is an older Liksys - the blue one with the dual antennas.
The dongle recognizes my network name and my One connects for a second until a dialog on the phone reports that hotspot is required and to go to the AT&T website or call 611.
I have never applied "unusual" settings in the router other than naming the network, broadcasting SSID and applying WEP.
Any help is appreciated.

I have tethering on my plan but I did notice that the flash wouldn't work while it was connected to my MediaLink. It gave an error message saying that flash isn't supported while hotspot is enabled.
would also like to know how to get around this hotspot error.. I've tried different security settings on my wireless router; what I haven't tried is using NO security to see if that helps. will try this now and update post!
edit: even no security on my wireless router doesn't change anything.. hrmm

Yeah, this is getting wierder by the moment.
Likewise I tried disabling security on the router with no results.
I just installed a tethering app which requires root (suggesting to me that it works around any block at&t put on the ROM), started the link and it disabled tethering in favor of WiFi.
Looks like one of us is going to be on the phone with AT&T and/or HTC this week. I already have about 45 minutes invested with an appointment for Wednesday to discuss the tethering issue. Where I'm concerned, how I use my monthly bandwidth allotment is my business and they have no right to dictate limits to what I pay for within the confines of my plan.

Have you tried putting the phone in airplane mode and then just turning on WiFi? I wonder if its just because the Media Link sees the hotspot on the device as an option, even though it isn't enabled or activated.

Have the same issue, and putting the phone in airplane enables me to connect it with my tv but only for about 20 seconds. After that, the phone will
tell me that there's something wrong with usb tethering setup thus kills the connection. So technically, connecting the media link with the phone
triggers tethering on the phone, either usb or mobile data which are somehow blocked by atnt.
With regards to gaming mode, it's a mode on my tv that draws in extra frames to smooth things out, only it had a hard time working mostly lag.
As for the media link I doubt I'll need one, as my tv is a D8000 so runs wireless anyway.

Pretty much for the moment. I tried flashing M7's ROM and it worked fine. Seems AT&T has blocked the WAP/Tethering function in either the kernel, radio, or the ROM. So, the solution would seem to be:
1) Find a ROM you can live with and flash it.
2) Find a Kernel (or radio, if that's what it is) that works with the stock AT&T ROM and flash it.
3) Wait for AT&T to get their heads out of their asses to realize that they're screwing their customers who have peripherals like the Media Link which connect via WAP and fix it in an OTA update.
Rumor has it that there's a 1.29 update out there somewhere. Let's see what happens. In the meantime, those of us who are in this boat should call AT&T's technical support and give them an earful for pushing disfunctional equipment on us. There's plenty of advertising hype from both AT&T and HTC about how cool the phone is, but nothing in the advertising literature that says how they crippled the phone.
I'm in the same boat here. There is another thread about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242737
If I can't figure out a router configuration that fixes it, I may experiment with "rooting" and then trying to kill the com.htc.tetheringguard app. I'd definately rather have it work through my wireless router like it should, but not if I've got to leave the network open/unsecured!

I am rooted, froze that app (along with all the other AT&T bloatware) with Titanium and it still doesn't work - no link action, no tethering, either.
Frankly, I'm pissed. I understand why they inhibit tethering, especially for those of us who are on unlimited data plans. There are always guys that will abuse it. But this phone came that way from the factory, which means that even those who are on 2G plans are screwed. In either case, if I'm paying for data, it's up to me to decide how fast I want to use it, the same way as if I were to pay for a tank of gas in my car, it's not up to Exxon to tell me I can't drive on the highway.
I was supposed to have received a call back today from the AT&T supervisor to discuss options, but (surprise!) no call. Looks like I'll be having a word or two with them tomorrow - and I have half a mind to demand a full credit on the purchase price of the phone for the amount of time I've spent jerking around with them about this.
