Yes we all know there is another site called HTCCODE which also unlocks by code.
I left the first post mentioning htccode, but removed the others.
Now stop spamming the above mentioned site, we know it already!
But feel free to open another thread to discuss HTC code.
hey OP, does this sim unlock also security unlock? I'm already sim unlocked from the factory, all i need is a security unlock...

No. All this services provide unlock code only and it does NOT reset/read security code
Anyway all services listed here are little bit expensive. You better try my friend from www.fastgsm.com. It's cheapest and it is directly from source - not a reseller

SIM Unlock without a SIM
Hi guys I've got the unlock code for my device but problem is I do not have a SIM from a provider other than my own. Is there any way to put in the unlock code without a foreign SIM???
I think that people´s work must be paid, but 38€ for a unlocking code its abuse, but this is just a opinion.
17,50 Euros here : http://sapphire.unlock-now.com/sim-unlock-Vodafone-HTC-Magic/
I had test it and all is OK
Hello
I have unlocked my Magic witch was SIM locked to Vodaphone Spain and all i had to do was to put in my Swedish SIM-card and power on the phone to get to a screen there i put in the unlock code. If you have your SIM card pin-protected you maight want to trie to disable the PIN first.
Hope it works out for you!

Borrow a friends sim that uses a different provider. It doesn't have to be foreign, it just has to be another network.

Why can't you get an unlock code from T-Mobile? They gave me an unlock code for mine for free... http://expressunlockcode.com/htc.aspx they say that can unlock it for you.
I don't think flashing a rom unlocks it.
I got my code today. problem solved. thanks
I have the same problem. Every unlock place online says the IMEI returns a "Code Not Found"
I was able to find a guy on ebay that says he can get it even if the IMEI returns "Code Not Found" but it cost me $30
Anyone know what some IMEIs return a Code Not Found error?
Do you just call up tmo support for the unlock code? Are the specific criteria or questions that you need to meet or answer for it?
None of the websites at the moment can provide the unlock code for mytouch 3g.
The phones are new in the market.
All their databases are obsolete.

Hi. There are loads of sites selling unlocking codes, but be carefull, most are scams. I spent ages researching this and found these guys.

You will need a paypal account. They say they email you, but didnt, however on their tracking system i found my code waiting for me. Worked a treat. Now i'm on the 3 network.

Do I require specific software to unlock the phone or can it be done without it?

The phone works fine with a Orange SIM, though.

Dear all,
I was faced by an unexpected problem and I will try to relate this to you in this thread. I will also update this thread if i find a solution on how to resolve this issue so maybe I can avoid some head-scratching out there......
- I got an HD2 on T mobile UK was very happy to see it safe and sound home
- I didn't have a sim card in it ....
- booted it ......
- checked out the IMEI number
- Sent it to an IMEI unlock service from Ebay (one of the best)
- The day after, I received an email from the unlock service and guess what?
- NO unlock code! It's unavailable!
- Reason given ..... can't unlock because phone's IMEI is too new so we
so they don't have it in their database
- Didn't discourage myself and tried at least 5 different ones INCLUDING some really prominent sites out there (if you p.m. me will send you the address but I don't want to sound like I am doing some advert cos I am not...)
- 7 unlock services later...... I gave up..... The code is literally unknown and no sim unlock code seems to exist....
- T-Mobile simple told me that I need a 3 month contract to get the unlock code from them .... but the problem is I am outside the UK so that is not an option. Also 3 months not using this HD2 will simply make me go crazy.....
- Tried also HTC, quick reply (very quick indeed). To cut the long story shor I was told that their "universal unlock code" for all worldwide models WON't work on T mobile UK because the codes are changed by this carrier (grrrrrrrr... why?)
So I have to give up using an IMEI type of unlock. THERE MUST be some alternative way of doing it .....
Anyone could guide me on this please? Do I have to use HSPL2 to get rid of the sim lock (and the warranty?)
Thanks to all of you who contribute to this great community a better place......
Regards
Alcatraz
sorry to hear that mate
tmobile uk here aswell
how comes you need it unlocked? if its just to flash ROMs then HSPL2 can do the job for you and it won't invalidate your warranty as the new version provided two options
for example 1.42HSPL (unlocked) and 1.42SPL (original)
so you can change backwards and forwards in case you ever need to use your warranty.
if however you want it so that you can use it with a different operator maybe someone else here can help you

I had to wait a couple of weeks before buying the code as T-Mobile hadn't released the database (something like that).

WHICH service from Ebay? I USED like 7 of them I tried unlockology and also htc-unlocker which apparently are an authority when it comes to providing "unlock codes in minutes". I repeat that the main problem is that it is a 2010 model.

Correct, HSPL has nothing to do with unlocking the phone. It will allow you to flash another ROM with another CID.
Doing so will not remove your sim lock, what you need to do is get an unlock code (which you have been trying to do)
Quite a few of the noobs seem to think that CID lock and SIM lock are the same thing!

I never implied that ...... I KNOW that they are different .... I was being sarcastic in my reply....
The thing I am not sure about is the CID locks. I know that SIM locks lock you onto a particular carrier... But am not too sure about CID locks. What I was led to understand from the various readings which I bumped into is that a CID lock restricts you onto some particular region. So for example people in Egypt encounter regional-related issues due to CID locks (for e.g GPS not working etc...)

HTC's reply... RE generic unlock codes (factory ones)
Dear all
The fellow people at HTC told me the following RE "generic factory unlock codes......". They basically "DON'T exist" according to HTC Uk. They claim that when the network operator gets hold of the phones, they put in there own sim lock encryption... They do some other disastrous things as well .....such as mucking up the OS and removing apps.....
Dear Sir,
Thank you for contacting us. In regards to Unlocking, I can help you with that. Unfortunately HTC does not have unlocking codes as we supply to different networks, the devices we supply are customised by the network providers accordingly. Hence only the network provider can give you an unlocking code. Thank you for contacting HTC. Best regards, Herald B HTC

I think it gets unlocked if you install the Unofficial/Official firmware updates such as the latest one I9000XWJM2.

I am not 100% sure, however, I am sure that you won't breat your mobile if you follow the correct steps, it's worth a try.
ok..i'll wait for new replies if no viable solution appears i will go to a gsm service.
I cannot test it, but flashing Generic Firmwares may unlock your phone. You could first root the device, do a backup with ROM Manager/ClockworkMod then flash the JM2 Firmware and see if it's unlocked.
If not, restore the backup with ROM Manager and unroot your device.
I don't think is a big deal and better then going to a "gsm service"
Good Luck.
I think that your first action should be to contact your service provider, Orange, and ask if they will provide an unlocking code. Most providers will provide an unlock code for about £15 or £20, although some insist that you have had the phone for a specified time.
I'm pretty sure flashing a generic firmware will not unlock the phone. I would definitely try orange first, though when my dad got a phone unlocked in the past they made him wait 3 months first and charged him £15.
you can obtain an unlock code there http://cellunlocker.net/
its 25$ i am sure orange will cash much more for this...
tried all solutions..soft related...i called orange too and they didn't gave me the code in the end i went to a service and unlocked it there (50$) kinda pricey for a unlock code but i had no remaining solutions, thanks for your replies guys
Cheers
It's too late for you, but someone in another forum reported that his simlock went away after flashing JP3 on his phone.
Orange do SIM-unlock handsets, but they require that you're at least 3 months into your contract with a new handset before they will do so.
They charge £20 for the privilege, which is applied to your bill. If you have a pre-paid handset, you need to have this amount as credit on your bill before they'll order the code.
It can take some time - a couple of weeks - for them to send the code to you. I think this varies by handset.
In my experience with HTC handsets, so this is obviously may differ for Samsung, flashing a new ROM will NOT SIM-unlock your device.
I had a new HTC Desire from Orange and was going abroad immediately on a business trip. They refused to SIM-unlock it for me, so I found someone on eBay offering unlock codes, and for the princely sum of US$9, had an unlocked phone that I was able to use with a local SIM card within 5 hours.
(Side note: Orange lied and screwed me over the contractual terms, so I cancelled the contract on them and returned the handset, switched to Vodafone, and now have the SGS!)

Go here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form
Fill in your IMEI number and submit, they will respond to you within 24 hours, but with this bank holiday, it will only be sometime next week. They will send you an email with a 16-digit unlock code.
Be vary careful not to piss about with the unlock code on that screen that appears when you insert another sim card as after 3 failed attempts it locks your phone permanently and then you are screwed. ...like I did. ;-)
Instructions once you have the code is as follows:
- Power on device with a non O2 UK SIM card
- The device shows: "SIM network unlock PIN"
- Enter the unlock code (NCK) for the network lock and press "Unlock"
- Device will pop up a message "Network unlock successful"
If you have already entered a wrong code too many times the phone gets locked permanently. Then again, you are part of the xda community so help is always at hand. You can have your bootloader setpoint-unlocked by a guy here on the forums for 15 quid. Just drop Jinx13 http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4002805 a pm and scope out his website. I made use of his services and can vouch for him.
http://phoneunlockserver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/7-guide-all-xperia-bootloader-unlock-unlock-sim-enable-fastboot/
Hope this helps! ;-)
PS. Even though your sim will then be unlocked to all networks your bootloader will not be, which will limit your future options, so go for it, you know you want to....

The guy said no problem and that a code would be sent within a few days and it was free. The code came the next day in a text message and now the phone is sim free. Hope this helps. Lee
