Storage Card not appearing! Help please - Wing, P4350 General

My 2gb Sd Card appeared corrupted this morning(Random characters in file explorer, cant access any programs that was installed on the storage card etc.) I tried soft resetting and taking out the storage card then putting it back in and still no luck. So I searched the forums and downloaded HTC's fix for the corrupt card issue(http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/guides/ArtemisSDEnhancement.CAB)
and it automatically reboot my phone. When it started back up I couldnt not access Wi-Fi connection and in file explorer my storage card wasnt there. Again I tried soft resetting and reinserting the card again but it didnt work. I tried using active sync and the storage card wasnt there on my computer. I then tried hard resetting and I had the same problems even when reinstalling the fix again after . Is there any way to fix this?

Sounds like you might be in for a reformat of that memory card. The only draw back is that you will loose everything that's in it.

Thats ok with me I have the files saved on my computer to back it up. How would I be able to reformat the memory card?

Ok I looked it up on youtube and I put the card into my pc and it says its on FAT and theres another option that says FAT32. I dont know what to do from there.

I prefer FAT32 myself as it's required to flash from the SD.

Hermes not reading microsd

The storage card doesn't show in memory section of settings area. When I try to navigate to my device with file explorer there is no storage folder there. The micro sd was working fine until now, When I insert it into the phone the backlight goes on so it knows something is there. I tried soft and hard resets but that didn't work.

First, try ejecting and reinserting the card in another device.
Try connecting in Disk Drive mode to save data.
Try using the card in a card reader to save data.
Try using the card in a camera to save data.
If all fails, try to format the card using HD2, card reader or camera.
did you install sd tuneup, speed or whatever its called?
if so uninstall it, cause it makes the storage card dissapear in file explorer among others...
So, I've tried to connect via DISK DRIVE and i succeeded. Ive done backup on my PC and than format the card from PC. But this isn't solving the problem. No way to see the card in the phone except the DISK DRIVE mode.
EDIT: The only one application that see the memory card is FORMAT SD CARD, I formatted the card for second time, this time with that app, but also that didnt helped. The phone says that there is not installed sd card...
I dont want to hard reset the phone, because I've installed so much applications and so much registry optimizations...

Maybe one of those is the culprit.
Hmm, I dont know, it was working, until I went to eat, and when I backed, the card disappeared. :/
someone?
very weird...
Seems like I have a somewhat similar problem but in my case, the storage card is "only" disappearing until I switch off/on or reset my HD2.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Did you change these registry keys?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585729
This might be a silly question but...
...you don't have it plugged into a PC do you?
This problem happens to me only when i scroll to music and photos in Sense tabs.. The application tries to read photos or music from the SD that's when the sdcard disappears after that..
Any suggestions?
Just flashed to 1.48.xxx.x this morning and i still have the same problem..
the missing storage card is a symptom of a problem on your card. What happens is that the Windows Mobile would poll/query the card as it tries to access the file, if the card doesn't respond within the threshold window, the system will assume the card is no longer there, and therefore will 'hide' the storage card in the file explorer.
If your card has a bad memory location, the above will happen. Sometimes a reformat might help, but in my case, I have this problem reoccuring after awhile after a format, so I went on to have it replaced by the dealer.
I hope this is not another bug! The same happened with my 16 GB card. I tried it in another device and it no longer worked in that one either. I just thought it was the sd card faulty.

I've been using it on my HD and it was fine, it was fine on my HD2 too the first 4 days then after that it happened, keeps disappearing...
I'll check another SD card for a day, but until then i'm hoping to get a solution for my 16GB disappearing card..
The only way to get your card working is to hard reset your HD2, very, very weird... :/

im going to by a new one but before that i will try it in my sd card reader on my laptop.

Right now I'm trying to use my 8GB now and see if the issue should occur this time..

same problem here... hmmmm.. please htc.. do something
try a soft reset.
are you on a VF uk phone?
Got the same problem last week.
I find out the memory card got corrupted. dont know why.
XP didnt seen the card in reader at all.
Vista helped me to format the card, but i lost all my data, as i have to do full format to get the card live again.
Yes tried that. Yes on Vodafone but using laurentius26's Ultimate Rom which I believe is based on a T-Moile rom. I have been using this for some months without issue.
How do you format a memory card that can't be seen?
when you open file explorer can you see it there
or has it dissapeared from that too?
File Explorer will not open so soft reset now it opens but whole startup process now quite slow.Storage card indicated ...tap on it get inbox .mstxxx so email I guess and Temp folder containing cookies, History and temp int files. Thats my lot.
This is a common problem. Try removing the memory card, soft resetting then delete the folder "Storage Card" or "Storage Card2" if it exists. Reset again and insert memory card.
This problem occurs when the storage card is mounted on a PC (Disk Drive mode) and an application such as email tries to write to it. Windows decides the folder (as the storage card is mounted as a folder) has been deleted, so re-creates it. When the memory card is unmounted from the PC, windows has to call it something other than "Storage Card" as that name has now been allocated to a folder.
If that is not the problem, put the card into a PC and see if it recognizes it. It might say "this card is not formatted" etc. in which case you need to reformat and lose all of the data on it
the_sikko is quite correct the same thing happened to me last week. I simply re-connected to the pc and deleted the newly created 'storage card' and that resolved my problem.
I did notice a folder called Storage card earlier on now after numerous resets it's gone. I have also reset back to factory settings. Each time I reinsert the card Windows Mobile Device centre shows me the memory card (although my phone indicates no sd card loaded etc.) but when I try to access it, it disappears!
Try increasing the timeout that allows your storage card to be detected when the device is booting or coming out from suspension.
These registry edits worked for me:
[HKLM\System\StorageManager]
“PNPUnloadDelay“=dword:8196
[HKLM\System\StorageManager]
“PNPWaitIODelay“=dword:8196
Also, you may want to disable the power management on your storage card with:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD\ClientDrivers\Class\SDMemory_Class]
“DisablePowerManagement“=dword:00000001
Hope this helps
Ok now I will have to learn wo to edit my registry
So without having to edit my registry I managed to grab the file that said Storage card but when I tried to delete (with the card still inserted) it I'm told Access is denied and I should check the card is not write -protected or currently in use. When I try to open it it simply disappears. If I try to delete it with the card removed I get Cannot delete "mxip_notify":There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use.
Any suggestions?
Could really do with some help here cos I'm well and truelly lost in terms of what my options are.

I literally just had this issue. I have two Kingston 4GB cards and one of them simply stopped working. I wasn't able to copy anything from the mSD card to my laptop, so have simply formatted the card and now it no longer shows up in Windows Explorer (Windows 7).
Now i'm using the other card. I can tell by the way this card is responding in the HD2 that the other card became corrupt. I have just ordered two Transcend 8GB mSD cards from eBay for about £30.
I downloaded a tiny piece of software which is supposed to bypass Windows Explorer limitations and force format SD cards...but it won't work because the card just doesn't show to the laptop.
Well in the end I put the SD card into the card slot of a PC and after a very very long time I managed to format the card. All is well now.
my card got corrupted too
maybe i know the answer..
sorry for my bad english..
I've the same problem. But searching from all forums, finally i get the answer. just find n download EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Proffessional 4.3.6 (for 5 MB). Insert the mmc in card reader, use this software to recovery all the missing file (choose Complete Recovery Option). After recovery process done, use software LLFTool (for 600kb, just doing some browsing at google) to Low Level Format the mmc (this LLFTool can recognize the mmc). After all done, Windows can recognize again the mmc at windows explorer. Just right click and choose quick format (format FAT32). Done.
Had to Hard Reset
Just to add my two pennies worth.
None of the above worked for me. In the end I had to Hard Reset. Harrumph!

[Q] Can't access SD card from Wildfire ?

Morning good people.
Just got a nice sim free Wildfire for my daughter and I'm trying to install a few apps.
I've got Astro installed but when I try to access the SD card from it it says there's nothing on the card even through when I view it from the pc (either as mounting the phone as a drive or just putting the card in the reader) I can see the dir's and files ?
I've tried formatting the card as fat and fat 32 and I've tried 2 cards, nothing.
The Wildfire can write to the cards as its creating .footprints and LOST.DIR when it's given a new card. Also when I going in to settings/SD phone storage both unmount and format are greyed out.
Am I missing something here ? or is there a problem with the phone ??
Thanks...

Is your home directory(In settings) set to "/sdcard"?
Also try another filemanager for reference.
I highly doubt that there is something physically wrong with the phone.

I've tried 2 other file managers. Just the same issue. They say they see the card(s) but report nothing on them !
Did you try rebooting the phone or Hard resetting it?

Blank SD Card error. Need Help!

My phone is showing blank sd card and it asks to format it. Nothing happens.
It all started when i removed sd card to insert sim card and when i booted my phone, this happened.
My phone is N9000 Exynos (Indian Firmware)
Things i tried doing -
Flashed Indian firmware using odin (Odin said pass but phone remained the same)
Flashed UAE Firmware(as it was originally bought from UAE)
Did a factory reset using settings
Did a factory reset using Stock Recovery.
Tried this SD Card in another phone
Tried this SD Card in PC using card reader
Used another SD Card in this phone
Update 1 : I installed CWM and tried to mount SD Card through it . When i go in mounts and formats and remove my sd card and put it back , recovery detects it but its unable to mount it. Its not even formatting saying "unable to mount" "idle-unmounted"
I have tried all this but nothing happened.Same error is being shown. Then i finally rooted the device thinking there might be a fix. Please try to help me fixing this problem as i store all my data in SD Card. See the photo below for referrence and also ive uploaded a video . Please watch it.View attachment 3029411

Have you tried reformatting the SDcard through either Settings > Storage or on a PC? Make sure you select FAT32 or exFAT if you use a PC.

If the card (formatted as FAT32) is not visible on PC then the card is broken.
If the card is OK on PC but you have problems in the phone you need to test with another (good) card - if that is also not detected you have a problem with the phone (since you said the problem was also 100% stock ROM then it is not software, possibly some pins in the connector).

I have tried this card on pc . It works fine . I have tried another card on my phone and its not getting detected (same issue) also the same card works on pc too. Samsung service center said its not hardware issue but a software. and just because my phone is not bought from my country they refused to touch it without a condition that there is a possibility that phone might get bricked if they touch software and its fully my responsibility if it happens so.

well I am going to try to update it, doesn't seem like it could be a hardware fault, haven't seen such a hardware fault ever. hopefully it will work. if it doesn't then will have to try something else

Hi there. I have a 9005 and no luck on making sd to work, already gave up, just living on 32 gb internal...
Iv had something like this happen once. use software to unpartition the whole thing and then reformat it to fat32 or exFAT. there might be a problem with it not being a logical drive. does computer management pick it up when u plug it into the computer?
