I was just wondering... are there any hardware mods for the wing? For example, for the psp you can hook up dual analog sticks to the curict board and use them in games. I wanted to know if theres any cool mods like that for the wing.
Probably not but its worth the shot. Like, maybe a better camera, flash/spotlight, more/better speakers, etc... That would be pretty cool. espacially for ppl who like taking pictures and listening to music.
If anyone have valuable information about this, as to what mods are available and/or where i can find them, please feel free to email me @: herbjr [at] t mail [dot] com
Thanks.

Would it be possible and within an XDA II's hardware limitations to run a fullscreen video with multiple sprites overlaid? Possibly with transparency and other little effects?
Again, thinking of a game...
Is it a waste of time making games for the ppc?
I mean, I've worked on games before and I'll bet with some help I could make some nice ones, but when selling at $5-$10ea will it generate enough sales to be worthwhile?
if you need inspriration look at games like the
quake1 and 2 and dukeNukeEm3d ports
and warcraft2 and others as to whats possible
if you can make money on it i have no idear
there are tons of good free ones
though many people feel that playing on pda's is a hassel
I don't need inspiration, I've plenty of ideas and I think they'd be alot less hassle than playing something like doom on a ppc. But what are my chances of finding some programmers to write the game for next to nothing, since that's probably the kind of revenue ppc games make.
i were not speaking of inspirations as to what the game would be about
but about what would be expected of the speed and abilities of the platform

hi guys...
just opening this thread to get some advice. i love my hero alot but other than flashing the phone for new roms i can find any thing to do with. well i was thinking going back to iphone because with it i can stream movies(via unlimvideos) and also games on iphone looks great. i really love my hero but i can't either stream music or play cool games. should i wait for upcoming games or should i change? you have to admit rockband, fifa, fast and furiost. is killing me not to do any thing with the phone games in android market are lame an worst 2d i have ever seen.
help me decide or show me the true power of my hero
I guess you'll have to go back to the iPhone then
There are many things I like about Android, but it doesn't have as many good games and high quality apps as there are for the iPhone. I use it "professionally" as a smart phone, so i don't really need games ... apart from a little bit of SNES emulation if I find the time I use it to study vocabulary, to write emails, to remote control my music/video server, take notes, plan meetings and so on.
The iPhone is more of an entertainment system than a smartphone (although it can be both) and I avoid it not only for technical reasons (Hero is smaller, Android has multitasking which I find quite handy with the apps I use, I can develop own apps for it more easily, etc.) but also because I don't want to support Apple right now. They are behaving like rampant douchebags and though I admit that they have superior hardware to some extent, that fact doesn't outweigh their dickish behavior recently.

Hello AGAIN Poorboy,
You must be a troll, i'd better stop handing out cookies.
Hey bartolo777,
Try flashing one of the new desire-dump based 2.1 roms on it (i run behero).
It'll give you google nav, the new market, google goggles, etc.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,
I really don't know where I should post this, but I really need some first hand advice about the Nexus One/Desire from people who own and use the device.
I am a newcomer to Android, and have used a T-Mobile G1 in the past, and I was never too overtly enthused by its multimedia capabilites, and some other things like battery life. I currently use an iPhone 3GS and I want to change my phone.
My main requirements (except telephony) are:
1) Music Playback (I travel a lot and use my phone as a dedicated music player)
2) A really fluid and fast interface
3) Wi Fi
As you can see, the iphone sufficed for all the above functions, but its getting a bit old, and I'm thinking of something else to get this time.
How good is the Nexus One as a music player, qualitywise (I've been using an iPhone so a comparison would be helpful). I use middle range in-ears (V-Moda Vibe).
How fluid is the interface?
How good is it as an all round device?
I would really appreciate it if anyone helps me out on my queries, as I don't intend to splurge a whole lot of cash on a disappointing device.
Thanks in advance
Music is music, it sounds the same.
Android on a snapdragon processor is very fast.
Wifi is fine. Unless the radio is just terrible, I don't really know how a device could be "Good" or "Bad" at wifi.
I don't mean to sound condescending or anything, but if you want a phone to "Just work", I would get an iPhone. If you like customizing your phone, messing around with gadgets in general, "hacking" stuff, etc, you will be very happy with an N1.
This topic has been beaten to death No need to start a new one, just check the existing threads with a search, and continue posting there.
Also this thread should have been in the Q&A section.
Hello,
I am currently looking for a programmer who is fairly skilled in game development and android system to collaborate with. The idea is to create a small yet expandable game through updates. Maybe even a interactive wall paper with gameplay mechanics.
I myself am an amateur 2D artist. I had been working on a project, creating sprite sheets for a xbox 360 project. However I feel that it would possibly do much better in the android market. By no means do I consider myself a professional, but I would dedicate a large amount of time, working daily to tweak and create sprite sheets to make them look as fluid as possible. I would hope the programmer also has the right amount of dedication and time to invest in this type of project.

Thanks again, and I hope to hear from somebody soon.
Hello,
I got in contact with IK Multimedia, to ask them if they will port there IPAD app AMPLITUBE to Android...
They said they can't because there is "latency" issue in Android, not allowing them to have real time effects applied to a signal coming through the microphone input.
Do you know if there is a way to reduce this latency in Android?
Here is a link for you to see what they do with IPAD and what could be fun to have on an Android tablet: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Main.html?iphone/index.php&fenderiphone

There are plenty of guitar apps on android market, both free and paid. I don't know if they have the fancy graphics, but sure they will work well. I don't understand what android latency problem is
There's also some music composer utils that you can grab, i tested uLoop and it works great on Folio.
Android not like iOS from Apple is opensourced so it have nothing to hide. Still I kind of agree that there's some lack of fancy apps on Android. We couldn't forget that app store is older and bigger than android market, and just a few months ago there were just a few phones running it. This days it's rather different, I won't say that android will rule the World, it depends greatly on Marketing, but it sure will continue to grow stronger. By the way, how do you connect the guitar to you ipad, i will also play to play a litle on my acoustic guitar (which also has a connector to an amplifier) ?

Plug your guitar...
On iphone / Ipad, you have a very good "connection" kit called Irig form IK, or one from Peavey (don't remember the name).
Cost is around 30€...
Cheers,
Al
Thanks,
I got an ipod 4gen i guess it will work there to. I guess I will give it a try as soon i get some spare bucks.
