hp6828 wm5 IE wont get webpages from my local webserver or the net

Hi Everyone well this has me stumped; : my hp ipaq 6828 connects to my access point ok I can ping locally and to the net and get replies but IE wont display web pages either from my local web server or the net. The error I get is "the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost" . My AP works ok as my wife has a jasjam with the latest roms and wm6 - "thanks guys" and has no problems. However when I use GPRS on the ipaq, IE works fine. The roms are the latest according to HP 1.00.03 wwe and 1.00.01 bl. I am using the HP IPAQ wifi Wireless adapter, DHCP is enabled and I can see the mac address in the wireless table on the AP. did you change it in settings->connections under advantage to use my network rather then my isp ?

Hi Rudegar Thanks Ive found the problem , IT was the proxy setup in the GPRS setting dont know why it wanted to go the the GPRS when using WiFi anyway thanks

GPRS (E/3G/H) Internet connection strange behaviour

Hi all!
I'm having a very strange issue with my Internet connection on the niki.
I have configured the default Internet connection (the one without VPN and Proxy config) to use the ISP parameters to connect to GPRS.
It connects but it's not working (I tried to navigate with IE but got error opening page).
So I created a new connection (in this case I could set up a proxy, but I left empty), with the same ISP config, selected it as the network to be use automatically to connect to internet, and it works very well.
Any idea about this strange behaviour?

Solved!
I needed to configure a Work connecion (not used) with a Proxy (HTTP and SOCKS). In this way the Internet connection works fine.

I have done the same thing, but nothing solved :-( I am able to use IE and Opera via wifi but not via GPRS

GPRS configuration
hi somehow i try to configure gprs settings on wm5 & wm6 i know the proxy,apn,user name and password for my service provider but somehow it shows connecting the error- unable to connect due to some unknow error ( how strange) can any say how they got they windows mobile phone to connect using gprs models i tried - htc 8925, tmobile wing, htc touch, htc s620 help please

Internet Explorer can't open any pages.

I'm a new user on this forum so don't be hard on me.
I have Att 8525 it has Faria-R32 WM 6.1 rom, HardSPL7, and 1.54 radio. Any time I'm connected to the wifi network and try to access any internet pages I'm getting same error:
"The page cannot be displayed or or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check th connection settings and try again later."
I'm not using gprs data connection since I have a second phone (BlackBerry) and it has unlimited BlackBerry data plan so I only need wifi access from 8525 sometimes. Also is there any way to connect 8525 to the BlackBerry so it can use Blackberry internet connection?
I tried it on different networks tried it with proxy and without.
Any Help would much appreciated. Thanks

is it just ie or all internet connections?
as in other browsers and messenger or stuff like that

I have no other browsers or messengers so it is Just internet explorer. Should I try to install different browser?

I managed to get my cell phone On-line by reflashing official Att rom, but it still can't save proxy settings and go online with proxy

you cant use a proxy server unless it's your isp's

the modem connects to the isp over the network and get access to the internet that way
do you mean that you wish to get internet using wifi or general activesync
or do you really want to somehow get access to a proxy after you get out on the internet

IE does not connect to internet. Gprs or wlan -- all the same. Same probs with resco radio and msn messi.
Opera and net front dont have problems. Thank god i installed them

How to configure the WiFi Router application?

Please assist.
1. My PC identifies the HD2 as Ad-Hoc and not as Infrastructure. Is it the case?
2. The WiFi router application registers only the WAP APN in the internet connections. I usually use the Internet APN, why is it not chosen?
3. On my PC, should I enter the 10 digits WEP key for all four WEP key slots, or just into the first slot?
4. When I try to connect, the HD2 prompts me to enter a Static IP address (no DHCP support). Where should I enter it? what mask and gateway addresses?

I tried, but I can't. Unlike the original poster, it tries to connect to my MMS access point, of course there's no internet access there. I haven't been able to figure out how to make it work yet.

Mine works perfectly but only if the HD2 is right next to the computer. For some reason the range is ridiculously minimal.

Battery drain, if the range was increased it would kill the battery.

I have the same problem as the first poster : I can't choose the correct 3G connection. Only one connection is displayed in HTC Wifi Router with one single radio button on its right and it's not the right internet connection for unlimited internet.

in order to choose the right APN, please choose SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>CONNECTIONS>ADVANCED>SELECT NETWORKS and enter the right APN (Internet) in both tabs.
That will do the trick.

still, although HD2 is discoverable by my PC (in wifi Find networks), with a good reception level, my PC insists that it is an Ad-Hoc connection (no DHCP) and when I try to use Infrastucture (with the wep key), my PC cannot establish association (get IP address from the HD2) and it shows no signal level.

Zolom, thanks? I did that and it improved a bit the situation: now email clients work (pop) but web surfing still doesn't work. I didn't try yet other internet connections.

not working anymore
before i installed 1.48 everything worked perfect but after the upgrade it doesnt work anymore. now my computer can connect but the phone also connects to its own network.... very strange behavior.... tried to turn off wifi but that also turns off router. any suggestions anyone?

Voila I finally got rid of the "HTTP 403 Forbidden" error with a (partial?) solution.
I have installed user agent switcher (http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/installed/07/) for Mozilla on Windows Vista, and I entered the user agent of my ISP on my HTC HD2 . It works!
Questions:
- Is it possible to set the user agent on other browsers such as IE or Opera?
- I noticed the user agent is not necessary for pop3 email clients. Is user agent mandatory for other internet services, like Messenger, SIP, Skype, software updates, etc?
