keyboard layout wrong.... - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

i just realoded my 8525 with Black 3.01 and everything is working great but some of the symbols are mapped to the buttons wrong. has anybody else has this problem or know a fix?

This has been covered several times. You need to get the keyboard fix or use Schap's Advance Config to put the layout to ATT (assuming you have ATT since you have an 8525).

press start -settings-advanced config, press misc tab u will see keyboard layout in dropdown select cingular & press done u shld be good .i had same problem this is they way i got it fixed.....

Experienced it last time using Kin0kin masterpiece, several times confusing, but then everything brighter when i found keyboard mapping setup on great Schap's creation.
Now, no worry, just flash them all

preciate it guys. after i did a search for "keyboard fix" i found other threads about it. i knew there had to be something that changed the mapping. i found Schaps Advanced Config prog and the cab to fix it. Working Great. I upgraded my radio to 1.56.70.11 and running starbase's TouchFlo2D ROM.

hmm can u post the link here? ^^ maybe it would be helpful to someone else (such like me ;DD)

Sideways swipe in Messaging, WM6.1??

This question was posted in the Elf forum, but didn't get any answers, so I figured I'd post it here, maybe someone can help me out.
With my original Rogers ROM, I was able to swipe sideways in Messaging to go from SMS to Hotmail to Gmail, or to see next/previous message when in a message.
Since I have flashed my phone to WM6.1 (I've tried Blue Elves V5.0, kokotas Clean ROM Black Edition and AB's Clean ROM), none of these seem to support the sideways swipe in Messaging.
Is this something that is not included in WM6.1? Or is there a reg setting that I didn't see to enable this? I am able to do the same thing with the D-Pad left and right, but I'd like to get the swipe back... That's why we have touch screens, isn't it?
Hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance...
Damn, my apologies! I meant to post this in the General forum! If a mod wants to move this thread, please do... Sorry!!
That is an HTC feature seen on the Vogue/Elf/etc. Not related to WM. It's part of Touchflo/biotouch/whatever it is called. You need to have that built into your ROM. I think FTouchSL will allow this functionality as well.
Thanks for the quick reply!
I've tried FtouchSL, and I find it doesn't work anywhere near as well as the original "biotouch", also, I has many options that I'll never use, so I'd rather stick to the built in biotouch.exe.
On that note, I had a copy of my original Rogers biotouch.exe from when I disabled the cube on my Elfin, I copied that into the \Windows folder with Resco explorer and overwrote the old one, soft reset, still doesn't seem to work.
I think there's a registry setting that I'm missing perhaps, I'm gonna look around for it, but if anyone else has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them.
Thanks again...
Do you have the original HTC Cube? If the ROM you're using have a disabled cube, you won't have that feature. (some cooks actually disables the cube since it's pretty much useless now)
Damn, yeah, the roms I'm using all have had the cube disabled. Well, thanks for the help, I guess I'll have to try something else...

"Diamond" Digital Clock Install Program?

It seems they are just little number files but they won''t overwrite the existing files that are in the Windows directory.
Anyway I really like the look and wonder if there is a CAB type file that will install and voila, you have the Diamond look digital clock?
Anybody know of such a program?
Or a really simple set of instructions.
I followed the instructions and I can't get it to work.
Or how about a way to get the "Diamond" Digital Clock in to S2U2?
Help... help... help...
Hi Jim,
I was actually looking for quite some time and found a diamond digital clock cab. It was here in XDA but I cant find the thread I found it in (It was in the main hacking and development thread)
I'll just repost the cab file and hope I dont get reemed out. I take NO credit for makng this file what so ever.
I had tried installing it before on my vogue and it wasnt working then I upgraded my rom to 6.1 and figured Id give it a shot and it worked. I dont know if that had anything to do with it. it SHOULD still work in WM6 I just wasnt able to get it to work for some reason.
I think you have to disable HTC home as well too before you install the cab.
Nice find!
When I try to install on 6.1 it says "Installation unsuccessful". Any thoughts?
...Nevermind. For some reason it was copying itself when I put it on the sd card and one of the files was broken.
when you have it running is the clock in h:mm:ss tt format (ie 8:04 pm) or is it in hh:mm:ss tt (08:04 pm) I cant for the life of me get the zero infront of the single digit time (anywhere from 1-9 am or pm). just really erking me thats all. I had only installed this myself last night when I saw this thread asking for it so sort of a coincidence.
Anyway.. yeah let me know how your clock works and if you had to do something to fix it. I went into the regional settings and what not and changed the time format but still didnt change anything even after a reset.
For anyone who's installed the cab I posted and had the same issues I had (the 0 infront of the time (08:43 pm) then heres a quick fix I found in the hacking/development thread in the main forum.
Just copy the file in the zip file to your new HTC Home folder on your phone. Should be /HTCHome, sp right in the phones main directory alone with my documents and program files etc. If when you copy it over to replace the exsiting HH_Home_off. png in the folder it wont work go and disable the HTC Home plugin then copy it. That worked for me. Now I finally have a normal looking clock without always having to have 4 numbers showing.

Installed great! thanx a lot.
Since I installed this I can only select Bakersfield for my weather.
Anyone know a workaround?
Also this plugin severly lags my touch, anyone else?
Thanks.
diamond clock
So does anyone know of a diamond clock that actually flips like the real diamond clock?? All the skins for HTC HC are great but i would love to find something closer to the real deal.
Actually it doesn't lag anymore, but my weather is ONLY Bakersfield.
IS that with everyone else?

I had this same issue... What I had to do was uninstall it.. use the normal HTC home and reselect my city then reload on this updated version. Aparently all you have to do is add the XML of your city somewhere in the registy... I have no idea how so if anyone knows how feel free to let us know.
Since I did the steps above I havnt gone in to "Change city" anymore and it updates my city fine

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked as you said it did. However, when I changed it from Fahrenheit to Celcius thats when it updated to Bakersfield.
I can sort of understand Fahr, but Celcius would be much nicer. I think the benefit outweighs the cost so i'll use canada + fahr . Unless you know how to fix this.

MOD EDIT - Moved to General Discussion as not related to rom development

Please help me to Fix Hardware Keyboard keys A,S,D,F...

Hi Communiteee...
I have just started tweaking my TP2 and for some reason the above mentioned keys die on me...
I initially thought it was the "Classic Word Completion" cab but I do not have this installed and this AM it died again
If I hard reset with the internal storage it does not fix the problem BUT when HR with the Hardware keys it Does
Is there a way to check in the registry if these are still mapped correctly please.
The path would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

If you loaded on a new rom then you probably have to find and install the keyboard fix for whatever version of your phone you have. Look in the thread you downloaded the rom from and you'll likely find it in there.
That said.. if you havnt installed a rom and your keys randomly stopped working I would still try a keyboard fix. You can do a search in the rom subforum for them.
Good luck

Thank you Aaron,
I have only loaded the stock 6.5 ROM upgrade - will try to re-flash that and if that does not work I will try the Keyboard Editor I found on the Must have Apps Thread...
Will let ya know If I could get this resolved...
I am in the US and use AT&T. I have to install a cab every time I install a ROM or my keys are all screwed up. Maybe that is your issue. Good luck.

Hi There kimtyson,
Please advise which .cab that would be which you have to use?
I reflashed the Stock ROM and the keys worked for a while and then they decide to stop I have no idea why - I downloaded Energy ROM last night - will flash that at work and see if this resolves my problem...
HTC have replaced my Hardware Keyboard so it has to be something to do with the software
Thnx!
Bad Boi,
You mentioned your keyboard was replaced by htc already. I would send it back. If a hard reset doesnt fix the prob then I would say its a hardware prob. Maybe I missunderstood you but a hard reset puts the registry back to stock. You may have a bad flash and need to try to reflash the upgrade. Also, every cab or reg edits I did to get back the good old predictive text/word completion, it would always mess up my soft keyboard not the hard one. I have found that if you install HDTweak and enable the T9 option it will give you the predictive text back. You can even adjust how many words it suggests. Dont forget to turn off xt9 on your device. It works like a charm. If you need a good keyboard remapper I use Tarkim keyboard controller. I have to do almost my entire keyboard cause there isnt a 100 % fix for the Tilt 2. Here are links for the programs I mentioned. I hope this helps.

Thank you thebigrhinoone,
I have reflased stock upgraded ROM and the problem still pops up now and then - with or without tweaks added...
I have the Clasic Word Completion from PPC Geeks (Similar to Vogue Stock) for my TP2 and that works without any problems and no remapping required...
For the time being the ASDF is working - I will Flash the new ROM if the keys lock up again just to make sure if its hardware or not...
FYI
The way I get the predictive text working doesnt require any key mapping. The key remapper was for you to reassign the keys that arent working to see if that solves the problem. Sorry if I wasnt clear about that. If your problem persists try using the hd tweak method to see if that takes care of it. There are a lot off options in that program that you might like as well to tweak your phone. Take care and good luck.
