New ROM killed HTC Home Plugin - Mogul, XV6800 General

If you download and install HHC (HTC Home Customizer) it will download the proper HTC Home Plugin.

It hosed my HTC also - I installed a different HTC version and it started working but my weather update quit working
I switched to Spb Mobile and used some of greatbal's themes from this site -- I like that much better than HTC

If you don't want to install HHC you can always download the version of HTC Home that they use directly from their website

Thanks guys. I installed the HTC Home version (HTC Home Plugin v2.1 (patched by N2A)) from http://www.pocketemu.com/download8.html and it works. Weather works and brightness works.

dc13, thank you for your help, I just downloaded your cab... Sorry If I annoyed you by my request, but since the cab you posted doesn't even have a version number mentioned I assumed it was an older version of HTC Home
I did install the cab that you linked to. It installs the exact same HTCHome.dll that you can download from http://www.pocketemu.com/downloads19.html (I copied the \Windows\HTCHome.dll that was installed by the pocketemu.com cab onto my pc, uninstalled htchome, soft reset, verified that \Windows\HTCHome.dll did not exist, installed the cab that you linked to, copied the new \Windows\HTCHome.dll onto my pc and did a binary diff of the 2 files... they were binary identical)
So yeah, nothing new for me here, same HTC Home, same memory hog... I have been using both Pocket Digital Clock and cLaunch as an alternative to HTC home for a few days without problems (and I have more free memory), but then again all I wanted from HTC Home was the large clock and the easy to use finger friendly launcher so it is probably not a good alternative for everyone

X-Button and WM6.1

Does anyone else have problems getting the X button 2.0 app to run on the new Windows Mobile 6.1? The older version still works, but I would rather use the new version. Thanks.
not sure, but the htc tast manager plugin works very well, does the same thing your looking for.

And i thought i was the only one having this problem. i asked the same question in the dcd's titan rom 2.1.0 thread and everyone there seemed to have no problems with it. I'm still looking for a solution as i would like to have the newest version of x-button. DCD just upload another rom (2.2.0) which has the final build of WM6.1. I'm going to give this a try and let you know the results.
UPDATE: Just flashed to dcd's titan rom 2.2.0 and x-button 2.0 works!
i bellieve there is a newer version that has not been cabbed yet. the 2.0 on the leaked rom supposedly fixes the "ok" close button issue.
I prefer 1.5 though, much faster, and when combined with trask manager seems to work really well.
Task Manager
I updated my XV6800 to DCD's ROM's. First the 2.0, 2.1, and then 2.2 and the X-button always worked. But if you guys need the X-Button I will provide it for you. I hope it helps out.
if i have task_manager_2_0_30995 is this a old faulty version?
Or is there a better / more useable version out
I'm using 2.2.0 and x-button 2.0 still doesnt work for me. I even downloaded the cab file posted above....only difference is now I have two task manager icons...one under programs the other under settings...both do the same thing (show programs, processes, memory) Definitely not the same thing as the leaked rom.
both also do not show the comm manager. I have been sticking with 1.5 cause of that and its faster.
I had the same problem using x-Button. It kept giving me a shell execution error, and then would freeze the phone.
I ended up hard uninstalling and adding the HTC Task Manager, and BAM! no more problems.
Can someone post a link to the HTC task manager? Thanks!

See attached.
I finally got x-button 2.0 installed. It turns out I had to install 1.5 first...then reboot. After boot I installed 2.0 ontop of it. Now it works.

manila2d will not install?

Hello,
I'd like to run manila2d on my polaris, but I don't get it to work properly.
I tried downloading the .cab from this topic, but it doesn't seem to work I can't even get it installed.
I think it has something to with the cube, but I would like to know if any of you have a solution.
I'm using the official ROM and for guarantee-reasons I would like to keep that ROM.
Thanks!
ANY PHONE THAT HAS CUBE BY DEFAULT (NIKI, POLARIS, TOUCH) READ THIS BEFORE INSTALLING VERSION 20:

Is anyone else having trouble with the Microsoft Facebook app? I had the ripped 0.14 version and it was fine, but it locks up when I use the released version. I've re-downloaded, and re-installed several times, makes no difference.

Install soft keyboard onto the Rogers HTC Dream without root

So I noticed a bunch of you are having the 'issue' of the official Rogers HTC Dream not having a software keyboard like the Rogers HTC Magic.
This was posted on haykuro's blog:
http://www.droiddeveloper.com/hrbuilds/htc_ime.zip
Original Link Here: http://haykuro.theiphoneproject.org/?p=213
This is newer than the HTC TouchInput IME that is included on the HTC Magic and is compatible with the HTC Dream. All you have to do to install this keyboard is to extract the .apk file from the zip file and install it with a program such as ASTRO or AppInstaller (no need to push the libt9.so). Afterwards, you will notice that TouchInput will appear in your Locales & Text menu where you can calibrate the keyboard and change settings.
I'm not 100% sure if this works as I don't currently have a device to test with me anymore but I'm pretty sure it worked last time I tried it.
Good luck!
Worked on my currently not unrooted Rogers Dream!
Thanks!

ahhh... the double negative. hehehe.
I didn't have any issues with the htc_ime.apk is this keyboard any better, or is it just the same thing?
hey im new to the whole android thing ive tried to install the htc soft keyboard but had no luck. right now i have the t-mobile my touch 3g..any help plz
Another way I found useful
Go to the market, and find the app "any soft keyboard"
What you do is just search keyboard and keep on scrolling down until you find it, then install it. Then go to local and select any soft keboard
voila
also available in many other languages + dvorak for those interested.

New TF Theme For Mighty Rom 6.5 Rhodium

New Icons for the mighty Rom Theme. See pics. You can either disable HTC Sense before install and then enable after install, or just install the cab and then soft reset the phone.
to disable HTC sense got to start\settings\today\items\uncheck HTC Sense. Reverse the procedure after installing the cab.
If you do not like it and want to return to the normal mighty rom just disbable HTC Sense as described above and then go to
start\settings\system\remove programs\highlight the Lubbad Mighty cab and click remove.
your original mighty rom icons will return to the Touch Flo screen.
Very easy. Give me some feedback. I did a lot of development on the TP1 in the past and this is my first with the TP2. A terrific device. If you do not have the Mighty Rom, you gotta get it. It blows away the Sprint CDMA rom that I had installed from factory. 6.5 is the way to go!
Theme did not work only the slider changed. i tried both methods posted and no luck? any ideas? thanks

You are probably running one of Mighty's roms with HTC Sense 2.5.
This theme appears to be for Mighty rom with HTC Sense 2.1 only!
Normal?

It was a lot simpler when there were less manila files. Too many options with manila now. I updated my rom with the Mighty Rom from Jan 3rd, 2010.
I have a cdma sprint Touch Pro 2. These were the manila files I changed. Were you able to get it uninstalled and returned to normal?

It might not work because you're on T-Mobile. I was under the impression that Mighty ROM was CDMA only. I know that some of MobileMatt's themes only work on CDMA TP2s, because he develops them for his Verizon one.
