Hello everybody,
For some reason, I lost all sound on my phone yesterday. The funny thing is, I didnt install anything new on the phone. The sound was bit scratched/distorted right before it all went off. I tried Soft Rest but no luck. Anyone got a clue ?

all of a sudden i am gettin no sound, wen i get call it rings but they cant hear me and i cant hear them. there is no other sound coming out of the device. ive flashed with firmware same problem. to make it worse the warranty just run out a few days ago!
any ideas?

No **** the same thing happened to me today..Flashed the ROM again and my warranty just ran out too but i have a Magician any one got answers??
i fixed it thank godddddddd lol
i read another thread with something simliar that mentioned works with headset, tried it and it does you just have to unplug quickly the fone thought it was still in!

Been dealing with the same problem for a few days, now, and tried to plug/unplug quickly a few times, the sound came back magically!!!

I, confirm this problem, with the jack of the handsfree, ni sound ( gosh ! ) i plug and unplug, and the sound come back ! ît's problably a mystere from wyzard ! loll
hello i receive my g1 yesterday. very happy so far. only problem i notice. is that my speaker stops working. what i mean is that one moment the speaker works and after some second i hear a little noise and stops works. after some seconds is working again. and this is happening all the time. does any body had this problem before

the info he means is did you root it? what rom are you on?
I have the same problem. It's happened twice on me now after the phone has been booted up for about 70 hours both times. Pretty much this is what happens for me...
Out of no where I notice that my Loud Speaker volume just weakens tremendously and becomes slightly crackly (very feint) as if it can't play at that volume anymore. After a reboot it works like normal. Although I don't know whats causing the problem. I'm on stock cupcake firmware right now.
Yea addiosamigos was right. I was asking about if your phone is rooted? What rom are you using? Did you do any audio hacks? And anything else helpfull that you might have done to your phone.
Hello sorry for the delay. Yes my phone is rooted and iuse acyanogen 4.01 rom now I didn't do any audio hacks. The problems existed before I rooted the phone. And two day ago my earpiece speaker died also. Don't know what's happening with my g1. Does anybody know where I can find spare parts for my g1

If it has happened on the stock rom and custom roms and wipes or different roms don't solve the problem then most likely a hardware issue. I would contact T-Mobile or HTC for a warranty replacement before trying to fix it yourself. The phone is still under a year old so its still covered.
unfortunately in my country there is no t-mobile and the phone i bought it from ebay

You can still contact HTC and see if they will cover it. The phone is still under a year old.
During a phone call today the microphone on my HTC HD2 stopped working - I can hear conversations fine but callers cannot hear me anymore - or only very faint. It works fine if I use a Bluetooth headset. By now I tried soft resets as well as also a hardware reset back to factory defaults with no success...I don't have a functional microphone on the unit itself. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas? Emailed HTC support with no response yet...

Try testing it with the voice recoder program, just to confirm its definately the mic..
Same thing - it does not record anything. What a a bummer...TC

Yeah, it is a great phone and I love the screen and resolution and responsiveness. But being able to make a phone call is still kind of important on a phone...
Now I get to ship this thing around the globe and hope to get something which last more then 10 days the next go around :-(

If you are in the USA there is usually a 14 day period (30 days in California). I highly suggest you run down to a tmobile store and have it replaced.
Tried rebooting (or even hard resetting) your device? Maybe its a driver or radio problem...
i heared installing fring or skype gives problem like this...is there any fix for that..

I used to have this problem with my Hermes when I installed WOW HD settings... try a hard reset and/or Task 29 and then use the same stock ROM or a cooked one... (do a backup first)
Did someone solve this problem and how?I`ve sent my phone 3 times for guaratntee repair and nothing.
I`m wondering if only people in this post had this problem?!?

Has anyone found a solution for this problem? My problems started yesterday, the person on the other side can't hear me, while i'm still able to hear them. It started outta the blue, it was fine and just stopped working, without any changes at all.
I have tried 4 different radios and 3 different roms and still the same. Also tried using voice recorder with every change made and nothing happened.
i Bought the phone while on a trip and do not have any warranty or proof of purchase.

I think i have just found a solution (kinda).
As is said i was getting desperate, so i got a toothpick and stuck into the microphone hole and voila, it worked!!!! well i don't know if i might have damaged anything or this probably won't do any good for the phone or the microphone but it worked for me. please try at your own risk.

I have a TMOUS 1024mb version of the HD2. The problem I'm having is, When I got the phone, the external speaker wasn't working. I used it for a few weeks, then after a hard reset, the speaker works!! Then after it freezes up, another hard reset, and no more speaker!! So I tryed installing Oz's ROM yesterday, and it works great, but no external speaker. Any ideas ?
Wow, no replys to this? I know theres a million people that have the same issue? Surely someone has found the software issue that's causing it! Any rom's that fix it? or any way to tweak anything ot get sound out of it? Been stuck with mine with no external speaker for almost 2 months now!! And no, I bought it second hand off a friend, so theres no sending it back for a new one. The speaker sound did come back for a short week or so, but after it froze up again, and reboot, it's gone! sad face! so any info would be great!

no havent heard anything like that in my case the ear speaker is so low that i have to use the external speaker...

My story here....
I was very happy with my Glacier MT4G since I used to come over XDA every time to learn how to root and stuff. Life was happy and colorful with all the things I was able to do with my phone..... until that day my phone just went bad...
it started with the headphone hole, I plugged my headphone and then nothing happened when ever it usually started to play music... Minutes later, as I was trying to realize what was the problem, the touchscreen just stoped working too...
A couple of months before it was having issues with the ear-speaker so I had to change it (not me, the repairman)... so instantly I thought the boy who fixed it could let something wrong inside but before I had to make some tests to discard possibilities
And then I flashed it first... it worked but after some time (an hour or less) it stoped again.... changed rom, and same....
So I thought it could be the digitizer, so took it to the technician and changed it.... same stuff... sometimes works, sometimes doesn't...
if i turn it on and works it takes some minutes to stop working and if I turn it on and doesn't work it just doesn't work
I know, boys... this could be some hardware issue... but if you know it isn't, it would be great if you let me know... or if you know which kind of hardware issue it is and you let me know that's even greater...
