With OS Contacts Manager, you can easily choose several contacts and change their Category, Ringtone, and Oist SMS tone, or delete them simultaneously.
Note: If you have a large collection of contacts, it will take some time for the application to load.

Oist SMS tone..? That the same thing as texting? Is this saying that I can apply a specific text tone to individuals like I can ring tones?

I've installed a trial version of Panoramic Contacts Genius
(http://www.panoramicsoft.com/mobileapps/phonegenius/PhoneGenius.php), it's very nice, but call history doesn't work... it seems, like it's not working on xperia. Do you have any working version, because i like this.. or maybe do you know any nice program with fine call history and contacts (except Inesoft Phone Ex... bleh..)

yes, that's fine, but how to make resco my default call history?
There is an option to "handle all incoming calls". If I click on the green phonebutton RCM show me the Call History for "All / Incoming / Missed / Outgoing" calls.
after installing this application x1bc doesn't work. when i set on today settings, that i don't want resco, then spb pocket plus goes crazy

ABout how many messages (roughly) have you got for this contact and how many messages (roughly) have you got in you device in total? I have something like your problem and i have about 4000 text messages in total in my device. when I try to check messages through the contact tabs, it takes ages for the messages to show. Know this doesnt solve your problem, sorry but might help to know you arent alone!
Hi, i have a small problem on my HD2.
I have TMo HD2 (problem was also on TP2) with Energy ROM.
If i will send message using Windows Messaging system i can get delivery notifications.
But if I will send message from “contact card” (recent calls, tap on contact icon and choose send message, or from contact sense panel->view contact card->send SMS, or I will tap on message on the messages tab) it will get my to app which doest have delivery notification. Is there any way how to disable it? I really want my delivery notification for all SMSs.

How to set ur own sms tone on froyo 2.2
on froyo 2.2 we only can set our ringtone but not sms tone.
sms tone only can be set by system sound .Meanwhile the system sound is really bad n not interesting at all
this is my guide on how to set ur sms tone.
1.go to market
2.search pansi sms
3.download and install.
4.Run Pansi Sms

5.Click on ur XperiaX8 menu button.
6.Click on setting tab
7.click on setting
8.Scroll down until u find 'select ringtone' at notification setting column.
9.Choose mp3 ringtone and click OK.

The sms ringtone I hear now is the S Whistle.
I've changed it in settings but even so it still plays the Whistle sound.
What's more weird is that I've gone into system/media/notifications and removed s_whistle but it still won't change and plays only this sound whenever I get an sms.
Do I have poltergeist in my phone?

Solved.
For some reason I had to go in Sounds & Notifications and change app specific notification ringtone for the Messaging app, It was set to use the main notification sound, which was my own custom one. Looked like this "Default Sound (MYCUSTOMTONE)" and I had to change it to "MYCUSTOMSOUND" for it to actually work. Otherwise it would just play "S Whistle" with each SMS/MMS.. Lollipop bug or Joeldroid bug? Oh well..
