How to do an nbh install? - Wing, P4350 General

I'm trying to figure out how to install a ROM from a .nbh file. In the noob guide the video link to this information is broken and I cant find any solid guide by searching. Can someone point me to this info? My SD card is SDHC so (from what I have read) I assume I cannot install from it and thus need info for installing over USB. The ROM I plan on installing is 'Touch IT for Wing - Full' (unless there is some reason I should not use this version) so if there is any other info you can think of specific to this ROM I would appreciate you sharing it.
Thanks,
Alex

the rom you are planning to install is a bit dated.
you should have better performance using one of the latest custom roms, but they do not all work perfectly
for all kinds of information, this link

is a good source.
for information relevant to your current problem, i suggest this link

Well im an idiot and this ROM had instructions in the rar file. The others I grabbed didnt so you can disregard this unless you have any experience or helpful advice.

Installing version 1.2

Can someone please help me I am trying to upgrade to version1.2 ROM and have absolutely no idea how to do it, and am a little nervous of trying, but it looks so good I have to try. Thanks
The first thing I suggest is that you do a backup to sd card, you will learn how to do that by looking at the info in the drop down menu beneath xda developers.com banner and looking at the subjects in the different forums. You will see just how much work these guys have put into this when you see the added capability in 1.2, I think the developers suggest you cook your own rom in the kitchen now, info on that can also be found on the site.

Origignal German Tmobile rom needed or way to backup it.

Hey guys you really need to help me on this.
I wanted to update my athena to wm6. Unfortunatly i didnt run the unlocker before and now i can´t even do a hard resest.
But i can go in booloader mode. People adviced me run the unlocker but the athena isent recogniced by the unlocker. So i cant do this either. Except you can say to me what went wrong?
So i think the only thing to rescue my ameo is to get the original tmobile german rom so that i dont get the wrong vender id error.
If somebody of you can supply me with that it would be awesome. If not is there a way to make an installer or backup of the german rom. Because i have a friend who has a working ameo. But he is no geek. So the complex cant be to complex.
Plz help me my ameo is not running for days and i want to use it again.
You're going in the right direction by starting a new thread here. However, people with the skills may not be reading this forum. May I suggest that you post this question also on a forum more likely to be read by people who knows how to do this as well?
I was thinking maybe here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=259 since your question is relevant to all phones, not just Ameo.
Also, all the ROM cooks must know. May be PM them will give you better chance of getting help?
There is this very clever guy by the name of dark simpson who started this thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311909
I also suggest that you read this thread to get a feel of his area of expertise. I read only a few posts in the thread so far not think he definitely knows a tool that you can use to extract your ROM. Read this thread to see if your question is already answered. Else may be you could PM him to give you pointers on how to solve your problem.
Good luck, and I hope you get it working soon.
thank you that helps i will check the thread.
See the next post
This article is more directly relevant for your problem.
http://www.modaco.com/content/Daily...p-rebuilding-and-restoring-your-SPV-M700-ROM/
He outlined 9 steps there. The first step could be ignored as it deals with installing Olipro's unlocker.
Step 2 to 8 deals with backing up the ROM. Some steps pertains to optimizing the size of the bin file and is not really needed, but I guess there is no harm still. All the tools you need are there too. Step 9 is to flash the WM5 rom created by step 2 to 8.
After that, you could install Olipro's unlocker then flash to PK 3.0.
The author of this thread, Paul, looks like a nice and helpful guy. I suggest that you read his articleon how to back up ROM carefully. It's on a different device, but I think the principle is the same. Once you have understood the step, get him to help you to adapt the procedure for Ameo.
Hope that helps you.

thank you that looks quit complicated, i dont know if i can convice the friend to install a lot of apps on his device, he is more like a bussines partner but perhaps i find somebody on the net, who will do it for me and i can supply them with the guide.
What do you think in which forum im most likly to find somebody with the original german tmobile rom?
If you read the link carefully, you'll see that there is no need to install anything on your friend's unit. It will only do a read. Not write involved. Anyway, the most likely forum where people have that ROM is here.
Anyone still on Tmobile WM5 (german) able to help?
hey i carefully read the thread and even i don´t understand it fully. Its not that easy to do. I don´t think he can do it. This is procedure for experts. Anybody must have the original rom here.
ok thanks for your help. I found the solution in a german forum. For everybody needing the german rom go to http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/showthread.php?p=964813#post964813

Want to flash ROMeOS v4.21 onto 8525, need some help

I'm a noob when it comes to flashing Roms. I've never flashed a custom ROM before, only AT&T's WM6.0 upgrade when that first came out.
I have an 8525 and want to flash ROMeOS v4.21 onto it. I know I need Hard SPL which I downloaded (Hard-SPL-V7.zip). I downloaded this file http://rapidshare.com/files/136228827/_ROMEOS_421_ROM.ZIP, but now I'm not 100% sure what to do here. Do I need to download anything else? Did I even download the right thing? I downloaded it from here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411692
Could somebody hold my hand and help me out a bit? What exactly is the next step. How do I flash this ROM onto my 8525 now w/o bricking my phone?
I appreciate all the help, and plan on paypaling the creator of this rom, and hopefully somebody who helps me out w/ flashing the rom as well.
It's always good to start at the beginning, especially when it comes to flashing ROMS. Start HERE; this is a page I created for newcomers that has most everything you need to know about your phone. Especially important for ROM flashing would be MrVanx Upgrade Guide.
Best wishes,

want to unlock my titan and flash a custom w6.5 rom...its my 1st time

You said you need a step by step?
Here you go. There is three different ones. The first one and last are the same author just different locations.
1. Need to unlock with spl first. version 2.40 or 2.47 Here is the spls
2. Flash radio HERE is 3.42.50
3. Flash the rom of choice. There are three different links in my signature. 6.5 roms
Don't hesitate to post. there are plenty of people here that know what to do. Good Luck. You can Pm me if need be.
Updated post above with the files needed to unlock and the most current radio.
Rom choice is yours.
Going to try 6.5 tonight for the first time. Thanks for the links
can I use those files, even if I am on Telus in Canada? or do I need different radio and rom?
For most ROMs (Ryan's are the main exception that I am aware of), you will simply need to install the appropriate carrier cab and you will be fine.

sweet - thought I saw that somewhere. This thread is going sticky for me!!!
another question - do I have to enable GPS everytime I hard reset now?
or are the ROM's already have the info for the GPS instead of having to QPST and put in the values?
it would be nice to have to just sync contacts then load the apps I want off of a sd card, and that's it. Could almost do that on the go.......sweet

You will not need to re-do any QPST settings unless you flash a stock ROM. You will need to re-do your registry settings each time, though. You can import those easily, though, so it's no big deal. Using an auto-install program such as UC (if the chef supports it) or SASHIMI (if they don't - and this one is my personal preference) makes reflashing a snap. It won't take you very much time at all to have all of your cabs and most of your settings automatically get set up for you.

Could somebody adopt a greenhorn and help me with my first Android install?

I know a lot of people will be coming into this thread to berate me, telling me to read the stickies and search the forum.
I have read the stickies and searched the forum, but the tutorials all assume a level of knowledge I don't have. Please don't get angry at me.
I've recently purchased a European-spec HTC HD2 in order to run Rafpigna's latest DHD build, Rafdroid HD 4.0.1. I've read multiple guides and tutorials and I still don't quite grasp the fundamentals of what I'm supposed to be doing - I've never rooted an Android device before or flashed a custom ROM, and I'm worried I'll mess something up.
With that said, I was wondering if anybody who was experienced at flashing Android to the HD2 could help me out doing it my first time? Specifically, I don't understand the SD Card partitioning process and what ClockworkMod is or how to use it. I haven't actually found explanations for these things, as everything I've read assumes you already know what they are.
Could somebody help a brother out?
Again, if you feel the need to have a go at me for not being able to do this myself, consider this - not everybody on XDA is as tech savvy as you. I come here to talk mobile devices and see what developers are up to, but I am not myself very experienced under the hood.
Thanks for reading,
zuka
Look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11097380
It's really easy and very detailed, step by step guide of all steps you need to do in order to get Android running on your HD2
Rafdroid in his topic also details all steps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908528
As to the sd partitioning part - look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10654666#post10654666
ROMs that are based on Desire HD ones are just too big to fit in HD2 International - so they use ext partition on SD card to keep data (after partitioning you'll have two partitions on SD card - first one in FAT32 format and second one in ext3 format).
I understand that not everyone is techsavy, but I really don't think how gunjahman's guide could be any simpler. I can try - according to my knowledge - help you, but please, read two threads I've mentioned above, try to follow them and ask questions, when you have more detailed problems.
No no, that's been really helpful, thanks. I now understand the SD partitioning, which is one of the things I was really struggling with.
One of the things I don't get after reading those tutorials (which I didn't find on my first search, thankyou for those) is what radio I need to flash? I can't find a mention of it in Rafpigna's thread and I'm not sure what to do in regards to that.
Same goes with kernel. I can't figure out at what stage or how I'm supposed to apply to kernel whilst installing the ROM.
Thanks for your reply though, muchos gracias
@ Radio - In first thread:
"B: Install Custom Radio ROM
Prerequisites
* HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL
In order to flash custom radio ROM, you need to have HSPL3 installed on your HTC HD2. Follow this guide ~ How to Install HSPL3 on HTC HD2? (Video) to install. By the way, I used Radio Leo 2.15.50.14 on my guide. You can use it or any other HTC HD2 Radio ROM version."
As to the kernel, then I do not think, that you should change the one provided with ROM - at least, if there's no specific need for it. Just flash the ROM - http://hotfile.com/dl/109228969/a4b154a/full_rafdroid_hd_ext_4r0f1.zip.html
I admit that you CAN apply another kernel, but you DO NOT HAVE TO do it in order to have fully functional Android on your HD2
Thanks mate, that's all I needed to know. Appreciate your help, sorry for being a simpleton. Cheers!
Glad, I could help
I'm glad you did without saying "you're an idiot, google is your friend"
