Hi,
I've been using dashwire to sync my stuff over the interweb, but the autosync seems overly aggresssive. I noticed a significant delay anytime I got a phonecall, sent a message, etc, because it was syncing. I turned it to manual sync, but surely the autosync can't be this buggy?
Anyone else have this issue?
In case you don't know what dashwire is, check it out; good stuff.

Ive noticed in the past few days my GMail has been delayed for about 3-4 hours from the time it way received, till it is pushed over to my device, anyone else experiencing this?
Check your sync settings.
also check settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks>enable always-on mobile data.
if it's off push gmail can be substantially delayed.

I've noticed this as well. I've double checked all my settings and mine are correct. I'm guessing maybe it could be something on gmail's side of things and hopefully they will get it worked out.
Also make sure you're not using an auto task killer and killing the google talk app. You don't need to be signed into it, but killing it does delay google voice and gmail. BTW I'm not having any issue with my gmail, or google apps account. All coming through just as fast or faster than the websites.
Hey,
When I have checked background data and unchecked auto sync, k9 syncs every 30 min as it should. But htc widgets like friends stream and news do not sync although they are set to do this every hour.
Is there a workaround for this (except activating auto sync, cause obviously I wanna have this disabled)?
Thx dom

K9 doesn't use system polling for synching - it has its own mechanism. Things like the standard widgets for facebook and twitter etc. use auto-sync which is why they don't work.
Why are you trying to turn off auto-sync, yet still wanting things to sync?
I noticed that the widgets sync all the time and not as they supposed to do only once an hour. I don't care about the data send, but I think the constant syncing drains the battery.
I'm going to sync em manually now, no big deal. I'm not a big twitter/facebook junkie anyway.

Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone else have this problem also.
When i'm syncing my phone, my entire phone would slow down (kinda like slow to response or hang for awhile..)
Is this normal for others too?
Things i'm syncing
1. Google Mail
2. contacts
3. Calendars
4. Facebook
5. Some other small misc stuff
I don't have a very large group of contacts.. just about 300-400.. facebook friends is even smaller.. but i'm quite surprise that sync causes my phone to slow down significantly.

Absolutely, its been a well documented problem for most of the builds. Not sure if there is a work around for this. I tend to keep my auto sync off and all others at 2h interval sync. Works for saving battery life too.
The default gallery shows your synced photos from Picasa/Google+ etc and I don't want them to as I don't need them for the mobile what so ever, so clear the data/cache for the gallery then turn the sync off and that's fine photos gone, problem solved.
Hours later checking back the phone has turned the sync on by itself and put the photos back.
This was happening since the day I got the phone so from full stock to stock, unlocked with franco kernel (but I doubt this matters).
Anyone else having these problems? know any solutions?
EDIT: In fact all the apps keep turning the sync back on after a while, I use most of the google apps on my phone, now and again, but don't want any of them except g-mail and google keep on auto sync.
I'm sure there's a noob solution but I fail to see it
Bump

exactly same issue. it is freaking disgustingly annoying. big FAIL on google. their google plus, hangouts, new desktop maps - are epic FAILures
same issue here... any fix?
Hey guys, I have been having a problem with Google Sync for some time now and wondered if anyone else
has the same problem. For me the auto-sync no longer works for any of the Google services, most noticeably gmail. On my old DHD and the N4 when I just got it, emails would appear on my device almost instantaneously after being sent no matter if I was on 3G or Wi-Fi or if phone was asleep. For last couple months the phone would sync emails about 1nce a day and since I need to know when new emails arrive, I'm forced to force sync from either Google sync in settings, or by clicking refresh from GMail itself.
I googled this issue many times and there seems to be a lot of people with the same problems and many different suggestions, I tried the ones listed below, but nothing works and if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!
I have 3 Gmail accounts and my auto sync is turned on from both the quick toggles in notification bar, the power widget (don't use it just wanted to see if it would help) and from data usage settings. I'm running AOKP ROM milestone 1 but this problem as far as I remember happened on other ROMs too. I also do not have any power saving apps installed. I also have about 1GB of free memory. I also disabled browser sync under someone's advice.
Doing a clean flash of a ROM does help for couple of days, maybe a week, but then always the same thing happens. Clearing app data for Google apps might work, but I'm not sure if it will last and prefer a more permanent solution.
So does anyone have similar problem and/or knows a fix?
