Hi all!
Could anybody advise me the handy case for this PDA? That one which was in the box, hasn't got a clip!
very uncomfortable!
Yeah the one I got with mine was just a slide in case similar to the one the PSP comes with.... there are loads of differnet types online (I know no help) but found that the case for my old Toshiba e830 pda fits it perfectly.
Just gives you more of an option if searching for a case.

I have an xda exec, which i have had for over a year now and i have been very happy with it... until a couple of weeks ago the mini usb port detached itself from the mainboard :-( Ive read about it happening before on here... but i have no warranty now so im looking for anyone who can help. The mini USB port is also now damaged. I looked at re-soldering it back on but im not good enough to do that... I guess ideally im after another universal with a broken screen or something so as i can make one good one from 2 bad... and then save up a little more towards an athena...
Pocketpctechs will repaire it for $60(including parts &larbor)
Check out the links bellow

Thanks for the link - really useful... im contacting them to see if they can supply a replacement mainboard to the UK as that is where im based, if not i can look at posting it over i guess... Many Thanks - Dave
i brought a stand alone charger that you pop your battery in! pain in the ass but if you have two batterys its all good then use bluetooth to sync and install your apps and files im in the UK too
Yeah, thats exactly what i have done in the short term... but after upgrading my old XDA IIs yesterday to Windows Mobile 6 i fancy seeing what sort of improvements are available for my Universal.
On a side question can you sync over wifi?
you used to be able to but there was security concerns so they removed it from activesync if you have an old copy of active syncc then yes...
Hi,
My mini-B usb female connector (for charging and usb connectivity etc) is broken...
I need to find a replacement,
but I don't know what model it's exactly..
I don't what to end up ordering something I can't use :]
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
What is the Make/Model of your phone. Either you can send it to the original manufacturer/vendor if still under warranty or you can order from ebay.First know the maker and model No # of your phone like T-mobile,cingular,i-mate or At&tt etc and model like T-mobile MDA,vario, etc etc,ok
Cheers !
I have mine from www.techcenter.fr
It's an HTC Wizard, Wiza200. (Qtek in fact)

My USB connector is broken as well. Have you replaced one yourself? I want to know how hard it would be to do, because I'm thinking of ordering the part and attempting it.
what about ppc techs. they repair and sell that part.
I've done it a bunch of times...it definitely takes a few trys before u get it right...if ur familiar w/ soldering then it should be fairly easy, but if not...it might be worth paying some one to do it for u...if the pads are ripped from the motherboard then they have to be retraced...that is even harder...then it is worth paying to have it fixed for sure...otherwise, there is always the upgrade
upgrade? i wish. bought mine off the streets. thanks

I knew I'd be able to get this part from DigiKey/Mouser, but I was just never sure which was the right one so I never bothered.
Thanks!
I still haven't decided on the purchase of the shift as of yet... I really want it, but I'm not sure if I'm going to carry this & a pocketpc...
I have sold my htc 7501, and was looking for something similar; I love the form of the shift, I am disappointed that it doesn't support voice calling...
My question is do you still carry a pocket pc? If so, what do you reccomend?
I can't get used to a regular cellphone...
Sum suggestions or input on what i should do would be appreciated.
Hi
The fact is that our shift can't make calls. That means for me that I need a mobile. I can't get along with a tiny display and/or a crappy OS like s60 (just my point of view) and the shift isn't really a pocket pc for me.That's why I carry my shift on my back and my Kaiser in my pocket.
The real problem with Shift is that it can't make voice call (at least not yet), as mentioned before.
But, anyway, I bought the Shift "as it was" and not for what "it could become someday".
So, I'm carrying my Shift in my suitcase and a LG KS20 (WM 6) in my pocket.
In order to keep synced everything I use an Exchange server.
Hope this answered to your question.
Thanks for the input, that really helps.
I had planned on getting the shift & the htc touch pro.
i was thinking if there was a way to simplify my load by just getting a standard cell, but i can't live w/o a pocketpc, LOL!!
i now know i'm not the only one carrying a umpc & a pocketpc.
I've ditched the pocket PC (well kinda...use either an Omnia i900 or N95 - both capable PIM devices)...the Shift fills the gap nicely. I use the SnapVue side all the time...email, quick check on the web for something basic...it really is great to have that instant on and no need for an external modem (phone)...the Shift isn't going anywhere far from me in the short term.
Hi,
For now, I carry my Shift and my Kaiser.
IF The phone function AND the SD acces get working, I might leave it at home.
For now, my Kaiser is my agenda, phone & actually my external memory.

Hey I was wondering if anyone had seen any decent examples of organizer cases for the Touch Pro (fuze). I used to have HTC TYTN II (8525) and had a case that had a small zipper pouch behind the phone holster that I could put earphones, headphone adapter, memory cards and even a small flash drive. I loved the case, problme is that now I have the touch pro and its dimensions are different so I can't really use my old case. I have been looking for something similar and haven't been able to find it. Any hints/pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi all,
I'm just curious. If you guys still have Windows Mobile phone, what are you using it for?
I have one but I don't have any ideas how to invest/use it other than collecting dust.
Can you please share what's your main use of your WM phone in your daily life/work?
Thanks!

HTC TyTN II (Kayser) here...
Trying to use it as a wireless IP cam to install over my apartment's door peephole, but can't find an app that does this. Preferably accesible via internal webserver, VLC playable stream or as an input to a Zoneminder server.
Also thinking of using it as a permanent GPS for my old (1998) car, maybe with a cheap chinese android tablet as a front end via bluetooth.
I used my htc hd mini just until a few days ago, when i dropped it and the screen cracked pretty bad. since it is an old phone and i tend to crack the screen every 1.5-2 years, i always bought a used one on ebay to replace the previous (at least 3 devices by now i think).
This time maybe I try to revive an old hd2 which lies around here for quite some time now...
i liked to cook my own ROM for hd mini and i will probably do so with the hd2, including co0kies home tab and so on.
I like tweaking my devices, and no other OS is that good and that controllable as WM 6. and it doesn't collect my data.
When that one breaks i'll go back to hd mini i think, hd2 little too big for my taste
cheers!
