opera mini

Hello
i was wondering if i could run the opera mini on my xda exec?
why is opera mini termed as opera's solution for java?, what does the java language have to do with a browser?

hi, yes u can run opera mini on your device..but i would rather recomand opera 8.6 for pocket pc which is great ..i mean for me. opera mini is a java application thats why is a java solution

is opera8.6 for pocket pc also a java application, all browsers are not java applications, correct/
i guess opera would need to have the jre installed on the phone?

Just grab a copy of Opera Mobile (WM5 PPC) from here.
This will install the trial (30 day) version.
Some evil crackers/pirates (arr!) have edited the .DLL file to remove the 30 day limitation, but at least they had the decency to post it to GSM Hosting rather than this site.

I actually didn't care for the Opera browser... it was very slow compared to Opera Mini. Mini is extremely fast and does everything pretty well.

no, Opera Mini is free.
Opera browser for the PPC is not free.

is this a case of the browser with the bells and whistles is paid whereas browser-lite is free?

Hum, i'm looking for a browser for my elf, but i couldn't find any that didn't remake the page to a smartphone-type.
Anyone knows a browser that keeps the pages like a desktop pc?

try opera mini,works well for me. free and very easy to use. finger movement and zoom also can take over pie for downloads

Picsel Browser

I used picsel for a while, until i found opera mini 4. It is much faster than picsel. It keeps your page in the desktop-like layout, but also formats the text so that it is readable (without having to pan around) when zommed in.
opera mini 4 is my suggestion, with esmertec jbed as your midlet manager

thnx for the info. Does Opera mini work well on the ppc's? I was looking at Opera's website & it looked like Opera Mobile was more for wm6 (but costs money) & Opera mini was more for the smartphones (and was free). PIE just doesn't do well for me but picsel really seems slow compared to PIE.

i have a mogul (ppc6800) and opera mini works great.
just install jbed, then go to www.operamini.com on your phone's IE, navigate to the opera mini 4 page and download (by default it goes to opera mini 3, you have to select a link to get to opera mini 4).

I find new browser (shareware ) is name is ibis browser. I try it i was beautiful and on second open it bug
Now I try to reinstall it and always same problem, I can't open website.

Yes, Picsel IS slow - and has tons of other problems (low Web standards compliance, for example). I don't really recommend it. Opera Mini 4 is far better - in my opinion, of course.

Best GPRS & WIFI browser

Hi guys;
I redcently re flashed my hermes and foolishly didnt take a backup of the browser i was using. Im after a browser that I can use without a stylus and that offers iphone like full page browsing. I realise that the features I want are bandwidth heavy but I mostly use WIFI for web browsing anyway.

Make Opera Default Browser

On clicking the link, now here after the opera mini will also be in the list to open the link.

Can you please clarify what it is you made, what it is called, and clarify your post? Having some difficulty understanding.

I made an application which will allow the opera mini browser to be opened when ever you click a web link in the Android phone.
Earlier the default Opera mini does not have this feature, which is irritating!..

[Opera 9.7] Cannot access links on xHTML sites. :-(

Hello!
I still cannot access any links/buttons on XHTML sites with my opera mobile 9.7 on HD2. Opera loads the sites themselves correctly, but than, it refuses to load all continuing links on such sites, no matter if zooming in or not. The issue does not apply to other sites (HTML)...
Should I change something in the tweaks or install any additions? My opera build is 36034.1, turbo mode is off.
