Hi, i have quite a strange problem. On my MDA vario the touch screen only registers touch when the phone is closed. As soon as i start to slide it open (before the screen turns to landscape) the touch registration already stops working.
I've already tried different roms, and currently use Windows Mobile 6.1, but it doesn't really seem to help.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks,
Steven
The ribbon touchscreen ribbon cable could be damaged or has partially came of the board.
you will need to dismantle the phone and check the cable, note that its soldered and can be tricky to resolder.

I have serious problem with my o2 xda mini s pda.
After I buy this pda touch screen work perfectly but after few uses touch screen stop work or work sporadically in landscape. I started to seatch for a sollution. I found that the flex cable can be damaged for long time use but in addiotion the all screen can stop work correctly after dagmage this flex cable (my screen work good - no trail or something).
Now the touch screen stop response for any touch (potrair or landscape).
My question is what can i do ? Can anybody tell me what is the faulty part (flex cable or touch layer) ? Maybe there is other option...
Sorry for my english
Hi,
My touchscreen stops working when I slide it open. does anyone know what the problem could be?
could it be in the slider? the LCD? or the touchscreen part?
everything works in vertical mode.
thanks
I know the cable for the keyboard can come loose, maybe the cable for the touch screen is loose also?
This is possibly a common thing, but the screen on my dopod has stopped being a touchscreen. Seemed to work sometimes, then stop, then start working again if i left it in the sun for a few minutes to warm up.. Have striped it down to see if it was a loose connector, but everything seems fine. D-pad and all the other front-cover buttons work. Is this more likely to be a screen issue or a ribbon cable issue?
Yesterday I was working on my HTC HD2, flashed WP7 Mango on it, and opened it again to align the plastic keys with the hardware keys undeneath. It didn’t really work out, so I carefully seperated the digitizer from the display to realign theglass abovethe keys. Now The keys work perfectly, but the screen doesn’t react anymore. I have no clue what could’ve went wrong, the digitzer flex cable is still perfect, aswell are the others which connect the screen to the motherboard. Anyone have a clue what could’ve went wrong? I hope it can get fixed easily
I’ll try to hold the ‘end call key’ while using the display. Seems like that will help to entight the connection.
Fix: So I took the Display out again and checked the connection of the digitizer at the back of the screen. It was loose. So i've put it in place and fixed the connection with some extra tape.
Hello!
Yesterday, my LG G2 D800 had a backlight issue. I was able to use my phone in direct light and utilize the touch screen in its entirety at the time.
I took off the back cover and reconnected the Backlight cable to the motherboard, and that solved my issue regarding that. However, after the fix, my touch screen no longer recognizes inputs, even in Recovery Mode (TWRP, so it needs touch functionality).
I tried to disconnect & reconnect all cables on my motherboard, but my touch screen still does not recognize inputs at all.
What could have caused this? I took off the back cover gently with a plastic spudge, and only removed the bottom motherboard cover that had the backlight cable attached.
tldr
1) Backlight stopped working, but touch worked
2) Re-connected backlight cable. Backlight works, touch does not work
3) Reconnected all motherboard cables. Backlight works, touch does not work
Any help would be appreciated!
