Windows Mobile 5.0 Themes???

I haven't found any info on this matter...
I have tons of WM 2003SE tsk themes, but... they don't work with WM 5.0 in my Universal...
Do you know where can I find compatible themes? I tried wisbar advance desktop, but it is still in beta... I'm looking for simple tsk themes that work in WM 5.0
Any help would be appreciated.

Someone posted this a while back, I beleive you need the Pocket PC SE VGA to work with the Universal. I have not tried it yet, so do post back if they do work.

It doesn't work. The lower two softkeys don't change their colour, and the wallpaper appears like grey, even if it has... every colour of the rainbow.
I'm really surprised that M$ hasn't announced a theme maker for WM 5.0... And more surprised that there are only 1-2 themes available for WM 5.0 devices...

guys thanks for your comments. Now, all icons I have , are RESCO TODAY PLUG-IN. it's pretty cool. and it doesn't slow the system like SPB POCKET PLUS one. The icon in the corner next to the battery is POCKET INFORMANT icon.
and regarding the software I am using, its something like McDEV Theme creator. I can't remember the axact name, coz i'm @ work, sneakely writing from my Exec ;-))

At last I made my own themes based on the ones provided here! Thanx again my friend, it works great.

i'm glad you made it. the only problem I find difficult to solve is the dimentions of the picture. no matter how I tried, the picture gets cut in landscape or in portrait modes. it's obviously not a big deal in an abstract pictures, but in something more precise, that is a great pain in the ass...

Pocket CM 0.18 - Adapted Themes

For the new version of pocket cm (o.18) i changed my following themes. You only have to copy the zip-file into program folder of pocket cm. Now you can use them also in this version.The whole wm 6-themes you can find in the links my signature and in the thread there.
Edit: I forgot Vista Steel in the DL, now it´s online.

Excellent soft CM. Would it be possible to switch the letters column on the right side of the screen ? I'm left handed and it would be easier for me to choose the tight letter.

I cannot program, i only make skins. Pleasepost it in pocket cm-forum.
The skin must only be copied into program folder of pocket cm as a zip file. In pocket cm you can choose it in the settings. Previews: Link in my signature, there are previews of all my themes incl. pocket cm.

Neo XL....You are the MAN!!!! I have been looking for themes with background PICS since the .17 CAB came out, all people seem to make since are colors. I like the look of pictures in the backgrounds (plus, (I hope you don't mind) I can backwards engineer my own theme when I have something like this to work with!!!!!

Try to edit the contact and copy the home number to the mobile phone entry.
And: I don´t know how to program... i used the new touch theme pics and edited them.

just installed the skins... very nice!
However, when I open the contact details, the contact list is still shown in the background (looks kind of messed up). Is this just one mine (Asus P525)?

I tried it on my prophet and the functions were all okay. Over 1000 users downloaded the themes...don´t know, if there were problems like this before. What´s the version of your pocket cm? Which theme of them do you use? Notice: They are qvga-themes.
Now the Paris-Theme is also online.

I tried them (except the new paris theme) with v1.8 and all had the same problem... Is this maybe a configuration issue with pocketCM?

My friends have other ppc´s...mda compact II, trinity, and all functions are well....don´t know, why you have these problems, sorry.

At this time i have hard to work in my job, so i can´t work on themes. But i hope, in the next month there will be time for a new one. Every theme takes one or two days, because i always skin wm6, pocket cm,sometimes mort player and phone in one way.
My favourite is the vista black glass skin, but i change often between the skins.

I'd like if i could have first top half of the screen with htc home plugin and second bottom half with more than one tab with inside different today plugins.

there is wisbar advance desktop (WAD for short) which can do some wondrous things and it is completely customizable and skinable:

takes a bit to get used to, but you basically lets you create today screens and add what you want to them, including other today plugins and counters, text , images etc...sorry, not the best description. Have a look at the forum on the site to see what people are using it for.

I like the good ol' HTC Home. Nice and simple.

I'm really digging on the the tried and true cLaunch lately. As I'm limited to a 240x240 screen, there are only a few viable options for the limited real estate and cLaunch is working nicely as an app launcher. In conjunction with Quickmenu, I manage my device and access my apps with minimal keying.

X2 for cLaunch. Simple, clean, multiple pages, custom icons (.bmp, exe, or dll) you can even change the size of the icons you want to make it more finger friendly. I set mine to 32 pixels, and took off all the borders and tabs. You can use lnk shortcuts.

I think OP 's original request was for something that is tabbed AS WELL as be able to include other today plugins as tab.
can cLaunch or ultimate do that?
I know SPB Pocket Plus can but there are some plugins it can't incorporate which I wish it could like the WM6 calendar and task plugins.

Anybody know how to put meter in this plugin like battery, signal, memory etc. And show running programs in a tab.

You can create your own tabbed today plugin (for FREE) by using:

That ULTIMATELAUNCHER thing seems quite nice - but I havent figured if it is possible to point it to a folder. It has super interface, but I find it a bit to difficult to configure...

Just rip the UI of the Meizu 8?

It was the year 2006 that Meizu announced their M8 (or MiniOne). Its a iPhone clone with some extra functionalities. Now, after a false rumor of showing is at the CES 2008, it will be shown at the CeBIT (March 4-9, Hannover, Germany) instead. Can't wait, because:
The UI is cloned too, which is running on WM 6. If I get this right it can be ripped (and maybe translated to English) to be used on the HTC's and others.
I hope it isn't better than the iPhone like products of A_C and others... ;-)

Well, just a glance at the site the are firmwares released, but I didn't bother downloading the firmwares. However, where did you see where it mentions its running Windows. And I can't find any specs. If it is Windows, we can extract the files but I don't think it is.
Ok, I found the specs, supposed Windows CE, but I really don't feel like looking around that forum, site is horribly slow. I did see a mention of firmware, see if you get a link.

As far as I know, current versions of Windows Mobile are based on Windows CE 5.0, not 6.0.
Doesn't look good for getting this going on any other current handsets.

i would kill for a UI like that.. and if it was achievable w/o wisbar, i would be even happier

It is running on CE6 as i know not WM6 there is a big diference in these OS-es

My today screen looks similar to this:

umm on the bottom that looks like the LG menu but what esle do u got running there? and ifs its a custom skin mind sharing cuz it really looks cool

the top bar is ultimatelaunch and i have 3 tabs as you can see, apps/main/weather. for the apps i have iphone like icons, the main tab is the s2u2 lookalike clock which i made with rltoday, the weather tab is my htc home plugin. the clear icons on the bottom to show missed call/voicemail/sms/email are made from a batterystatus theme, and yes the bottom is the lg menu. It also rotates between tabs with "cube" animation and rivals pointui in smoothness. I highly reccomend it, ultimatelaunch that is, its not free though

@spencepu3 Im sorry man im kinda dense would u mind posting a walk thru on how u made that theme and the files needed ??
and yeah i heard about ultimate launcher but i do know that your able to use it free but with limited nagging

For the top labels im using ultimatelaunch, you can google it and download it. In the "main" label I have a today plugin for rltoday. I can post the skin.xml i made to make it look like s2u2/iphone like. There are very many themes to rltoday though. The weather tab has my htchome today plugin in it. the today plugins can be put in new tabs when you make them in ultimatelaunch. Then the 4 clear buttons on the bottom are my batterystatus today plugin with a different skin. The one i have doesnt actually even showthe battery status but it shows missed calls/sms/email/voicemail . I can post the skin file for this as well. battery status can be downloaded from the owners website just google it. and the lgtoday plugin is .cab file on this forum.

and especially i would like the theme ur using for batterystatus i have been using it for a long time but never found a skin as nice as that one

alright here are the xml files. just unzip both and put in their appropriate folders. the rltoday (s2u2) skin should look how its shown but for the battery status skin you have to uncheck some indicators from the options to have just the one row of buttons like i do.

Is there a way to have exactly this bar permanently on today screen? The pic was taken from an Ifonz screenshot.
I have a Gsmart VGA WM6.0 pro.
I tried Wisbar and other stuff but no way..too heavy and not user friendly at all. The best would be a kinda tsk file or whatever... any help?

The only way to have it permanently there is to use PointUI which has the top bar. Its not quite like the iphone bar, but it has what you need and acts as a task switcher as well as a way to get back to the pointui home screen.
I have asked the developer of the today life program (xml config tool with themes) he is making if he was planning on making a permanent top bar. But he didn't seem to care... such a shame too since it is useful.

Wisbar is the easiest way.
You won't get that without additional software.

Are you sure that PointUi is VGA compatible? I tried it before but it didn't work.

Which version? I believe the latest one is (it may be a seperate cab).

Well, they did a test version in the old 1.02 version. I don't think they ever did anything for their new 1.5 version in vga.

- also the icons, text, everything is completly different. windows can´t handle this.
- so the only way to get exactly this taskbar is a net application that runnes over windows mobile.
- why should the programmer of todaylife make a new taskbar when he created a complete Gui thats above windows mobile ? funny !
- if you look at my thread (bluephone) you find a todaylife skin with a original iphone taskbar.

Why? He created a complete gui thats above WM, great! But it loses its functionality the moment you open a program and it goes back to the WM interface, top taskbar. I thought it was supposed to be "above" WM? How do you get back to the today life screen?
You even created a skin for today life and I tried it. Sadly, it doesn't feel like a gui replacement for WM when the taskbar changes to the ugly, non functional WM bar.
I don't know anything about programming. But there must be a way to keep that bar at the top. *sigh*

all apps are programmed for the big wm taskbar, even if someone could manage to let a new small iphone tasbar stay on top and hide the original bar, you would have a ugly free space between taskbar and any application. So you want nothing more than programm every available software for windows mobile new
so i can tell you just this two words: Not possible ! believe it or not.

Wisbar. It's pretty easy to make a skin like that, and it's not as heavy as you mention. Give it a second try!

I'm still not satisfied with Wisbar 3. It eats my ram and freezes the ppc. Not worth keeping it installed.
I'll keep the original WM interface as it is. Only some spb plugins will be kept in wait of some new advice or suggestion from the forum.

It 'eats' about 300K on my device. I don't find that very much. Many plugins are more hungry.

as Syd159 said. It does not eat too much and I never had freez caused by Wisbar. It is normal app in combination with Ultimate launch (or SBP Pocket plus) you got total "new phone"

yes wisbar do consume lot of RAM and slow down my phone so I did't use it anymore

Imho I think that a today plugin like Gsmart glass can be worth trying. I like the gui and it belongs to Gigabyte (like my device ).
Have you guys tried it? If so is it that good?

can someone please help me! im trying to find a tiny today plugin that shows u ur GSM carrier name/logo ...mine is ROGERS ...just so i know that i have my GSM activated on my today screen!

I'd suggest something like BatteryStatus (although it has a new name which I have forgotten!) with a skin with just GSM Status.
Also, whilst it's good not having another thread, you're more likely to get an answer in the Questions and Answers sticky.
