Version Finale 2.1.1 OFFICIELLE ( build 3507)
(from site officielle)
Thank you for beta testing this version!
A note to unofficial after-market skin users:
We fixed problems with unofficial skins that we were able to reproduce in our office (operator name and layout shifts during taps). However, there are still might be some issues with some unofficial skins since the underlying rendering engine was changed quite a bit.

Restore Settings
Until they add a backup settings/restore settings function, like they have for spb pocket plus, what's the point? We're all flashing ROMs here and, if I want to do a clean reinstall, I have to rebuild my spb mobile shell menus every time. I don't get their reluctance here. It's been an issue on their support forum since version 1.5 (maybe earlier).
Pay attention to custom skins

My Electric Blue skin for 240x240 devices has problems with this beta release. The operator display functions seems to have changed.
Can anyone try to understand what has changed, please?

While I'd like a backup/restore feature too, I simply backup Mobile Shell reg keys and restore them after a ROM upgrade. I backup: HKCU/Software/Spb Software House; HKLM/Software/Spb Software House; and HKLM/Software/Spb Software House 2. Never had a glitch after a restore. I use this same technique for software registration keys. I've located and saved individual reg keys that store unlock/registration codes for each software I have installed. I don't backup and restore the entire registry for a ROM upgrade, as this is known to create problems, just certain keys.
have bug with luiggi wm 7 skin on wm 6.1 cing 8525 device: the bottom panel won't show names of tabs. in landscape mode it looks frreacky. could you please check what is the problem?
So has the obvious need for the feature to go to the shell instead of today. And the feature to show alarms. And the feature to support FlexMail, which must have 1000 requests. And the hundred broken aspects of Weather and Traveller.
Bottom line is, SPB is showing no concern whatsoever in supporting such issues.

I guess we just have to always remember that SPB did not intend Mobile Shell to be skinnable. Otherwise they would have never encrypted the dat files with a password. They wouldn't care less if our skins around here will be compatible with their new versions.
+1 greatbal
eng:
the beta version corrects maybe bugs, but the beta version does not want to install it, just to see that no skin is compatible with this version,
Why not offer designers the opportunity to progrèss leaving more easy skinner ..
fr:

Yes, I understand that. But I think that they cannot ignore the fact that there are hundreds of different skins now, and in my opinion SPB gained many customers because of that.
I reverted to 2.1 because I got too accustomed to my skin and won't try the new beta unless someone understands what changed. I don't think I'll be the only one; this will probably lower the number of people testing this beta version, not the goal SPB people have I think...

I guess you're right. Who would want to be stuck with their default skin. Definitely not me.
Wow I'm impressed! The speed when switching pages is much faster! bravo!
Anybody who has been using this notice if it fixed the battery drain issue with enable taskbar smart gesture?

You mean they don't care about getting more money from the skinnable (whether unintentional or not) interface appeal? ;P
IMO, of course they care after seeing the big skinning community behind it now.

Wow. This looks really great! Nice job man!!!
Guess my only silly question would be, is TouchFlo included? Or would I have to install that seperately?
Yes a new rom, will French release or other languages come or just WWE? and a lite version?
Thanks great job.
You saved my day, i like the style, especially the bootscreen! Very Fast and stable! N1
Yep!
TouchFlo scrolling is enable together with Cube.

wow I Downling ...i like it ur work ...thx ...n i like connect 2 internet when active sync ..i will try it ...
I have up this ROM (very tire because there are many Roms!)
At first, i would like to say: this Rom is fast and stable (even on compare with PDAVIET v17).
Only one things: there is not same style (interface)
- Phone Pad, Audio Manager: touch style (black color)
- Windows Media, HTC Home, Conn Manager: Diamond style (white color)
Nice work. I am testing
Edit 1: In Games, all default games are gone, and Teeter does not open
Yeah, new cooker in the house
I will try it, thanks
Looks very smooth and the compilation of apps seems also great. I'll install it now and hope it doesn't have one of the usual ROM issues for me (Exchange Attachments, Bluetooth/A2DP issues, FM problems) Thanks
where can i find this "RUU utility pack"??

Hi...great rom..thanks for the great job. Few things to say : I always have the clock on the title bar despite the fact I turned it off...I'm not sure to like the fonts used...I prefer the original one, but yeah it's personnal. Then the Teeter games doesn't work, I 'v a message "the file Labyrinth cannot be opened". May be few things to ad, TCPMP, and a ...Sudoku..please !
looks good, but i have a couple of questions before i fash it, im currently using uDK Vega R1 (not R2) as i like to have the smaller start menu and small taskbar. is this working in the rom? also has anyone found any issues with tomtom with the rom as i use it a lot for navigation.
thanks
Sam
- HTC Home Customizer doesn't seem to work (crash)
- The Diamond Keyboard only has 2 of the 3 styles available ("Keyboard" and "Keypad" but not the "Qwerty" one)
- In some applications you can only enter numbers with the keyboard, no letters (i.e. Note / One Note). This seems to be a common problem and not specific to your Rom, but it's highly annoying.
Hey Taiseer!
Realized that...thanks anyway for point it out!
I'll fix!
As a public beta, the efforts at this time is really to find bugs so I can fiz them before the final release is published.
So, keep moving....

OK.
Home customizer is actually running on mine. Are you able to open it or crash prior that? I realized that although you can change settings, some of the icons like beam one is not shown. That's what I'm gonna look in...
Issues with Diamond SIPs are really annoying I confess. I had that issue in UdK also. No clues yet...but I'll try work around...

ok thats brilliant, now to find out if tomtom behaves with the rom
also, im aware that this is only a beta rom but i tend to customise my handsets hevily with third party apps
I'd like to help you out making some language generations of my ROM but have no time to do that. I started a project like this in the past but had to stop.
So, do not expect some variations at this moment specially clean ones. I want first correct bugs in 5.0 to then start thinking something new....maybe a Vanilla but I always put what I think is basic and needed in terms of our day-to-day routines!

Been waiting for this one
What about the Omnia drivers? Are they integrated in this ROM?
Thanx man
BUG in Call History
The ROM is fairly smooth and elegant
So far I came across 2 bugs:
1. Missed calls tab in HTC Home leads to all call history and not to missed calls! (udK managed to sort this out in R7)
2. Call history page lacks a [X] button to close page, instead there is a white bar on top. And if one presses red end call button majority of page disappears. To close it one must touch somewhere on screen, press Keypad softbutton and then close page. Similar bug is present in udK's!
No Cube in this release? Just checking since it's not mentioned.
Thanx man for all your hard work!

I dont have that problems.
Rom is working normal. Its fast, really responsice and i like it more than vanilla version, cause more programs and the same free program memory.
Its good looking and fast rom!!
anyone know how to fix the Radio sound problem?? Thx!
@badguy
Tochna you don't have both problems?
Well, when disabling the dialer skin the "Call History" page can be closed by either pressing [X] which is visible or the "red end call" button without problems. But then there is no soft buttons at bottom to filter call history!
So obviously it's a skin issue
And still pressing "missed calls" tab in HTC Home leads to all calls' history and not to missed calls.
Anybody else? Any bright ideas! Thanx
Cheers

Guys,
Those calls issues more regarding to skins..better than a call function! are really happening on mine too. Didn't realize that. So, I'll see what I can do about it...
I can get away from that screen by just tapping in the OK button upside right.
Cube is not installed at all.
FMRadio still no clues...
Also, a second language is something I always put in my planboard but haven't had enough time.....who knows later on!
Hope you have all fun....
Next release will come with the newest Windows Live, Opera and fixes...
Great weekend [email protected]
@epimazzo
Thanx for the prompt response man.
Well I didn't even have that "ok" up right in the skinned dialer as shown in pic!
I am sure it's nothing you can't sort out
Have a nice a weekend you too

Now after 2 days of use of professional version, i get the same problems as mentioned already on the first page of that thread with call history...
I think there is no solution as swtos said to me.
We have to reconstruct whole phone dialer removing blue*.png and using normal png files with the right canvas which is time consuming.
So, I prefer spend time with the newest build 20275 or other like 20273....
Cheers!

udK confirms this as well.
Why not just discard the dialer skin or use one (older) that doesn't have the problem? This is a suggestion for future releases
The dialer in KhanX V6 Pro works fine now with the pre-installed skin disabled!!
But the "Missed Calls" tab in HTC Home can be fixed, right?

One more thing, the SoftKey Changer creates an error when remapping Calender softkey due to wrong default path.
KeySwop works better.
If you want to add something cool you can add a different wait cursor!
Cheers
No Cube
First of all, great ROM and very responsive (i'm using the 12MB PP version) The apps included are sufficient I think. And thanks for always trying to improve the Polaris user experience!
I've got the same bug like page 1 in the thread, no "X" button on the top right corner in the call history page. The other bug is, there is no cube even when I've enabled it in Schap Adv. Any tip on this?
P.S. anyway, I've installed HTC Diamond Qwerty keyboard, but could not uninstall it after that. Anyone knows how to remove this?
Thanks in advance! Cheers mate!

Hello,
I'm following the beta's off the release from Mobillityflow Touch-Shell.
More info: http://www.touch-shell.com/beta
I'm testing this all on my HTC Kaiser (Tytn II) with WM 6.1.
It has a slide-out keyboard, so that explains the screenshots (portrait & landscape)
They release the one beta after the other but don't update what has been changed.
I posted in an other post a review how i thinked about the program with screenshots and they liked my review:
So i got a free copy!
Because off that i want to follow the beta's more. I started this new post so i can manage the first posts and it's easier to follow the updates for you guys.
For now there are my older reviews in the #2, #3 & #4 post, please tell me what i could test and what you want to see changed in the program (the developers will read it to!)
If there are enough people enjoying, giving feedback, etc. I'll update this post more and more.
It's a bit messy for now
Ow, don't forget to fill in the poll!
Tested on 2009-01-22 Version 0.0.2.28 beta
Today i tought again about this program and installed the new beta.
They don't say what the diffirent is, they just uploaded it.
2009-01-22 Version 0.0.2.28 beta:
Changes I notifced:
It corrected displayed now all the tabs when switching from portrait tot landscape (unlike in earlier versions, see post #22). I do this by sliding out my keyboard on my Kaiser.
BUT when removing to much tabs, it shows something off the last page (see what I marked red in screenshot 7 & 8)

- The music tab seems to function, i miss the buttons repeat and shuffle, but that's all. First time you press play or something else on the page it will load Windows Media Player.
- Everything seems to work smoother (switching to pages, clock animation, weather animation, etc...).
Touch Shell uses 3.3 MB memory on my Kaiser without Windows Media Player playing. With Windows Media Player it uses 3.5 MB
Everything was slowing down when playing music, but i noticed that Windows Media Playser used 33.6 MB (!), so i killed it and everything worked normal again.
I will test this more (I don't think this has anything to do with Touch-Shell).
Older beta test 1/2
1/2
I used many different Today Shells (spb, m2d, m3d, ultimatelaunch, touch-commander, etc.)
Touch-commander was great, but was to simple for me.
What I think is about Touch-Shell (tested it with M2d shutted down):
- It's a program, not a plugin.
- Nice lay-out on my Tytn II (320x240)
BUT when i turn it to landscape by sliding my keyboard out (240x320) sadly enough it doesn't re-allign.
Screenshots:
- The Weather page looks great, many chooses (accuweather & gismeteo) and great graphics.
--- Continued at next post (i may only post 4 images) ---
older beta test 2/2
2/2
- The launcher and contact page are both the same (you can add contacts and programs whatever you want). Disadvantage: one click call, so no link to the contact to choose call or sms, but 1 click calling.
- Music page is just a link to Windows Media player, nothing more!
I was playing music in the background, but you can't see it in the screenshot.
So I think (and hope) it's developing. Support for coreplayer, TCMP, etc.?
- The plugin page, is just 1 page where you can add plugins (hope there will come more support. Like plugins below the clock or something).
- The lowest "menu" where you can choose wich page you wanna go isn't as great as m2d but works fast.
- Choose to close pages you don't use (see plugin page, there i've left the close button)
- Choose the start page (after booting, wake-up)
- Much options if you compare it with m2d: Very short most off the options (hope it will be more)
-Load on Windows start
-Home page: 12/24 hours clock, blinking every 1-5 seconds on or off. Date format (dddd dd MMMM yyy for exapmle)
-Weather page: choose all the citys from AccuWeather or GisMeteo. Units. Connection, choose wich one to use, or default. Auto update interval, show or don't show connection status balloon.
-Plugins page: wich plugins and move them up and down
-Choose wich page is the start page and when to display it (device wakup, device idle for...)
-Switch page visual effect: Horizontal Slide, Page Turn, Rotation and choose a background color
I think it will be a great program, i've played a couple of hours with it.
It is to much beta to say anything really good or really bad about it.
Hope you enjoyed my review (feedback is welcome...)
You can ask questions, the program will stay a couple off days (15?) on my phone .
does it support square screen?

works with vga?
I´ve copied some post from the original post:
BUT, that was before the newer betas come out.
Before it doesn't reallign on my Kaiser (from portrait to landscape), now it does. That does mean that the application probaly is "streched" to the screen where it was before just 240x320 and nothing else.
The best thing you could do is test, make screenshots and post it back here
Answer is short: probaly it does, not sure, test it yourself please.

It doesn't fill out the 320x320 screen, keeps you from locking the screen unless you exit T-S.
Any fixes out here for these issues?

Touch Shell does not work on VGA devices which is a let down for me. Or at least it's not working on my Fuze... I did however test it out on my wifes Tilt and it only seemed to be a glorified Touch Commander.
I was highly looking forward to this so I hope future versions become more robust like TF3D. I know it's early beta so I still have high hopes.

thank you
i'm waiting for a new release
Touch-Shell v0.0.2.46 is out still not fix the animate weather on HTC Touch and little slow on respond.
I was a big fan of Touch Commander and made many skins for it. Now since getting a Fuze and having TF3D, Touch Shell seems too far behind and is no comparison. It may have taken too long to get Touch Shell going and people might have moved on. (Just my opinion with no facts to back it up)
With the popularity of the Touch Pro / Fuze / Diamond / Touch HD, all with TF3D included, can TS compete? I'll still support them and will most likely purchase when there is a full VGA release and crank out some skins..

VGA has been supported for weeks now ( not sure about official though). I used it on my Diamond but it's still not quite up to speed and is still a little buggy so I again uninstalled it.
Also, TS CAN compete in one way to TF3D. I offers something that TF3D does not: a complete Today Plugin tab within the shell that exactly mimics the traditional Today screen. That one feature sets it apart from any other shell I've used.

Yes, it is .
But You should to replace original "Skin_landscape.xml" with modiffied by me.
On my i780 works fine.
This is a clean WM6.5.5 (build 23545) ROM in several versions:
- premium: This is like the stock ROM, with Sense and with HTC Messaging.
- premium_nomess: This is like premium, but without HTC Messaging
- lite: This is without HTC Sense.
- lite_nomess: This is lite, but without HTC Messaging
- lite_WMphone: This is a lite version without the HTC phone canvas and Messaging. This is what I use, in order to have a fully landscape enabled ROM.
- barebone: almost all HTC stuff removed, this is almost pure Windows Mobile as it comes from Microsoft. Only some applications like Youtube, Opera are there.
Please read the whole post for important information. You won't regret it!
The ROMs are kept very close to stock (Leo 2.10 packages). I try to make them stable and fast, no 'bloatware'.
Sense is fully Landscape enabled!
However, you have to change one registry key to prevent the music and pictures tab from rotating. Read the 'problems and solutions' section at the bottom of this post on how to make it work in landscape without issues!

Problems and solutions:
- Manila music and pictures tab getting messed up in landscape mode: Change the registry value HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\EnableFullscreen to 0.
- Cannot change date when Manila is disabled: Enter the date manually with the keyboard.

thanks for the efforts
Looking good! Glad I'm not the only one trying 6.5.3!
Yeah WM6.5.3 is the only thing I was missing from my Blackstone
Sucks that my internet connection is so slow, I've been uploading for over 4 hours before I've been disconnected.
The ROM is already working pretty good, I'll fix some more things and ask a friend to upload it tomorrow.

Hey guys and girls
Sorry that it took so long, I could not upload the ROMs because my connection is only 64k and very unstable.
The first three versions are done:
- barebones
- without Sense, without Messaging
- without Sense, with Messaging
I will upload them soon, within the next 4 hours, hope everything goes well this time.
This is my To Do list, so that you know what's still missing:
- include a nicer theme (shadowline's)
- reorganize and customize start menu icons
- get rid of the keypad symbol in the dialer
- update some packages with newer versions
- find a landscape enabled (Rhodium) dialer
- some registry tweaks
I have not included Google Maps, you can download the newest version with compass support from www.google.com/gmm.
I also have not included RSShub, because it does not work with WM6.5.3 ROMs.
Many eyes see more than two, so please report any bugs you find!
Looking forward to this one. Hope you can upload it soon

I'll try to find a solution for this, I hope there is a way to run it without Manila.
Another thing is that the proximity sensor seemt to need the HTC phone canvas to turn the display off during a call. I don't think that there is a solution atm, but I'll keep the barebones version, because I like it
To mark the end of 2012, here is a further updated ‘operational’ edition WM6.5 ROM for those who still favour a 'traditional' interface on their TG01
It is derived from WM6.5 ROM, Original build CE OS 5.2.21876 (Build 21876.5.0.72) TG01_KPW100707.005.tsw. It builds on and refines number of previous releases. It contains a significant number of additional tweaks, including in particular:
- A heavily customised new edition of the TRITanium Weather application. This includes a ‘current weather’ icon overlayed on the Titanium home page.
- Addition of the i-nigma 3D Barcode reader application
- Adoption of Opera 10 as the default browser
- Addition of Skype
- Updated editions of a number of other embedded applications (eg. Google Maps)
- Various further Registry amendments to improve operation

I hope this may continue to be useful to users wanting a stable ROM with good base features and apps, onto which they can add own preferred choices to quickly have a fully featured phone. It is configured with a well-featured Titanium interface together with the option to toggle seamlessly between Titanium and the WM Classic Today screen.
Summary of Changes:
- Some 950 further files have been removed, together with addition of various registry changes and rationalisation of .provxml.
- All Titanium configurations for non-WVGA screen formats removed
- Titanium oriented with Carbon theme and harmonised Toshiba Keyboard / Freepad
- Titanium / WM Classic Today toggle incorporated
- Carbon-skinned Core Player included
- Custom edition of TRITanium Weather with current weather overlay. Streamlined by removal of all non-WXVGA configs and setting with Accuweather icons throughout as default.
- 3D Barcode reader added
- Screen sensitivity auto-applied during .cab load
- Full app Close with selectable options.
- Taskbar Battery Meter
Contains:
Style:
Win 7 style opening Splashscreen optimised to the TG01
Win Phone style animated Shutdown splashscreen
Colour Icon Taskbar with Windows 7 Orb [Based on GFreek’s with many own amendments and new icons]
Carbon_TG01 electric blue theme as default
System:
Custom Start Menu structure and Folder Icons
- Power sub-Menu including Power Off, Soft Reset, Screen Light, Standby, Settings and hidden Hard Reset options
- Home Screen Settings sub-Menu including Sliding Albums, Favourite People, TRITanium Weather, My Location
2 pixel full-width Battery meter at top of Taskbar
Real X to ‘Close’ functionality ‘InClose’
.net Framework 3.5 [Based on Arag0n85’s implementation in the original debranded ROM]
Audio Test (5.1 channel identifier)
Preset Registry Settings / Tweaks
- Power
- ClearType
- UK Regional
- SIP
- Wireless G active
- Screen sensitivity applied during .cab load (can be further refined if desired using usual screen.cpl)
Apps:
MS Office Mobile 2010
Google Maps
Arcsoft PhotoBase
Pictures & Videos
Camera with Muted Shutter Sound [To turn off Shutter completely use Novembre5’s .cab]
Video Editor
Skinned edition of CorePlayer
Windows Media Player
Games: Bubblebreaker, Solitaire
Titanium Plugins: TRITanium Weather + My Location; Sliding Albums; Favourite People; Application Launcher
Titanium Toggle
i-nigma 3D Barcode reader
Opera Mobile 10
Skype
Notes:
- AGPS FixMode set to to 0 instead of 2
- It was originally recommended NOT to use the 'Close' function of InClose with the Start Menu to avoid accidentally completely close it down. This could be resolved by clicking on eg. the Time bar on the Titanium home screen to open an applet and then use the X button top right to soft reset (press & hold to bring up the InClose menu).
- The current edition of the ROM overcomes this issue by 'excluding' shell32.exe in InClose settings. An additional, optional exclusion which has been found useful is fexplorer.exe. You may want to amend to include Resco or Total Commander equivalents depending on added 3rd party software.
- Beyond that, it is very much up to the individual how it is preferred to configure InClose - please refer to the settings for the variety of available options.
Memory:
Storage: In Use – 41 MB Free – 221 MB
Programe: In Use – 125 MB Free – 80 MB
Removed:
Orange everything
Video Player
Toshiba ‘Blinds’ UI
All MS Themes [All available to install to taste if desired]
MSN Money, Weather Widgets [Available here: Money.zip, Weather.zip]
Some 900 further files compared to previous ‘clean’ WM6.5 edition

Music Player is set to Core Player as default. Tap Create Lists (Left SoftKey). Albums, with cover-art will now display. Tap the plugin to activate Core Player.
Favourite People
- Use the Favourite People settings to add Contacts to the list which will then be directly accessible from the home screen.
- Set Actions (eg. which phone no. to associate) and Layout to taste
TRITanium Weather
Follow on-screen prompts to:
- Set Language
- Choose weather icon theme (Accuweather is now default but other icons can be added if desired)
- Set Units
- Choose Network connection
- Choose Sleuth’s myLocation or Google Latitude if preferred/subscribed
- Select weather feed, eg. Accuweather
- Go Display Options and select ‘Create Titanium Panel’ ; add MYLOCATION for present position (moves with you)
- Also in Display Options, toggle Titanium Weather Overlay and select the icons from \Program Files\TRITaniumWeather\Overlay\Accuweather
- Go Location Options and select ‘Create New Location’ to add specific location. Repeat as needed.
- Finally Run Weather Update and Exit
- Downloaded weather data will then appear on home screen plugin
Titanium Toggle
- Provides capability to set up both a conventional WM6x Today Screen and Titanium UI and switch between as desired while retaining all configuration.
- Before running TiToggle, set up your classic Today screen plugins as desired.. [Start | Settings | Today | items (Uncheck windows default); now select the classic plugins you want working when you switch to classic mode. Click OK. This must be done BEFORE running the script the first time, and only needs to be done once.
- Now use the TiToggle to switch seamlessly back and forth between Uis.
- In the event of issues with Classic Today items not displaying carry out the following steps:
1. Switch to classic today, enable the items you want active
2. Run NoPluginsToday (to make sure they disappear)
3. Then run NoPluginsToday again (to reenable them)
- If the reverse or something else happens you are trying to set classic items up when NoPluginsToday is set to "hide items”. In this case change state and repeat.
Further Titanium Editing
- If further editing of the Titanium UI is desired, showaco’s Titanium Editor is recommended
- Please note that in the event that eg. Iconsoft’s Phonex is installed, the People plugin would not be required and can be hidden with the editor.
- If further 3rd Party apps such as Spb Time 3 are added then, for example, the Titanium Clock plugin can be re-directed to activate Spb Time instead of the default Windows Clock by editing the Registry as follows:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCLOCK]
"1"="\"\\Program Files\\Spb Time\\SpbTime.exe\""
"3"=dword:00000000
"2"=dword:00000002
"0"="World Clock"
Reserved #2 - A Connundrum - can anyone please help ?
In attempting to extend the carbon theme into this ROM, I have sucessfully replaced the Toshiba deep magenta/black background to the Motion Sensor control panel app, but have completely failed to be able to figure out how to achieve the same effect with any other of the CPL applets.
Motion Sensor.exe unusually contains the bitmap, so a simple job to replace. An exhaustive trawl of the other .exe, .cpl, .dll and .mui files has failed to identify any other such applet containing a similar bitmap. The equivalent Toshiba wallpaper files in \windows were removed long since.
So I am stumped as to where these images are being sourced. If anyone can suggest any viable clues as to where they may be and how to replace, will be very much appreciated

Wow, nice new great ROM Kevin! But are you able to achieve to additional ROM and RAM unlock that Fepont suceeded in? Nice to see a themed ROM, keep it up man!
The skinned motion sensor ( Toshiba Settings) looked great! Well done for finding it out. Unfortunately I cannot help you here, but hopfully some else may point you in the right direction!
Cheers!

Hi @olyloh6696 .... many thanks for your kind comments. Much appreciated.
I'm afraid I don't have the expertise to replicate @Feropont's success with the ROM/RAM capacities, but in principle it would be relatively straightforward to translate the setup, if the unprotected base becomes available to work with in due course. In the meantime, I'm hoping someone will be able to resolve the mystery of the Toshiba Settings applets
Best regards,
Kevin

Hi Miro, Many thanks for the offer - it would be very good to be able to upgrade the core of the ROM to benefit from the recently released capacity. Not certain if it will work by trying to recreate via @feropont's kitchen, but I think I could do the other way round if I had the 'super clean' core ROM as a start and remixed back all the various additional files, registry changes, provxmls and so forth. I have all those components in separate files and with a bit of thought could probably reassemble. Maybe we should try approaching from both directions and see if there is any difference with the result ?
Thanks for this rom Kevin. I have re flashed your old one.
cheers

Hi @mkultr4, thanks for checking the new version out. Just out of curiosity, can you indicate why you preferred to go back to the previous edition ?
I am using your new rom. I was using your first rom and has been really good, but recently the phone would boot numerous times before I could use it. So I looked back on here for other roms and you had cooked a new one! I like the icons on the tool bar (simple I know..but its the minor details).
I will let you know if I encounter any problems, I don't think I will though.
thanks again
Ah ! My apologies - I'd misinterpreted the sense of your note. Very pleased that you like the new edition.
I'm puzzled though about the issues you were having with the original as have been using myself ever since last July and not encountered that type of problem. I'm not sure if you may have eventually developed some registry corruption which eventualy caused instability. Possibly doing a hard reset would have cured - for all practical purposes the same as a re-flash.
Do please let me have feedback as you use the new one and let me know if any glitches become apparent.
Best regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, regarding the 'issue' with your other ROM i can confirm it is not a ROM specific problem but occyrs when you mess around with the registry keys (like you said - corrupt reg keys)i was playing around with SK Tools on numerous ROMs and they have led me to the same problems and hard resets. So there is no faults with your ROMs
Thanks Oly - nice to know my initial diagnosis was on the right track !
Regards,
Kevin

It's useful for me, and I hope this table can be useful as well for other ROM fanatics as me . Not, seriously, not always is easy keep it updated (each chef has a different way to launch new ROMs) but at last , I'm just a mere notary, the merit is yours, the cooks.

This ROM
I''m currently using this ROM right now and i'm very happy with it.
Two little issues:
- Couldn't download GPS data, but after playing with my location, it worked.
- Back button (green button) of the standard phone dialer not visible.
And titaniumweather is downloading weather information twice, both for MyLocation and
the city I live currently in, but who cares...
Found an old microsoft voice command CAB and now i'm a happy TG01 user.
Keep up the good work, Kevin.

In response....
- Back button (green button) of the standard phone dialer not visible.
I have now tracked down the problem - apologies - too zealous in removing 'unneeded files' when cleaning the ROM. Turns out there were two vital images... As a temporary measure, please copy the following files to the \windows directory and correct WM6.5 stock dialler will resume. One is the Back Arrow; the other is the handset icon on the green Talk button. I will issue an update to the ROM with this corrected and also some key files compressed to improve performance in the next few days.

Not quite sure what was happening here but if you can give some more information may help understanding... Normally GPS likes to have some indication where you are to get it going, eg. by identifying rough location on the map in Garmin XT or via the AGPS in Google Maps. MyLocation does a similar thing.
And titaniumweather is downloading weather information twice, both for MyLocation and the city I live currently in,
Sounds like you have set up 2 tabs on the Titanium Homescreen - one for MyLocation and one for the named city ? In which case the behaviour you describe will happen if you are in that location. However, if you then move elsewhere, while your specified city will continue to show the data for that place, MyLocation will follow you and show data pertinent to wherever you happen to be.
Hope the above is of some help ?
Best regards,
Kevin
