Hello XDA users....
I think you know it all, that the ROMkitchen is a fine application to get our device nearly perfect.
But the ROMkitchen is out of date. This means many applications aren´t not in the actual version. Therefore Auburnham and I thought to update the applications.
The problem is, that the amount of added applications to the kitchen is to big to make this happen by us two. Because of this problem I´m searching for some people, which wants to help.
Another problem is, that you need for this a device that haven´t got installed that piece of software. This means that when you want to help me with Phonext for example, you must have a device without any version of Phonext installed.
So, if you are going to help me make a snapshot of your device with the ssnap - Application.
Install the software.
Make again an Snapshot of your device with the ssnap - Application.
Send these two files to [email protected] with inforamtion about the program you have installed and the exact Version you have installed.
When I´ve got analyzed the two files i will reply to you with a wishlist of files that have been created on your device. After sending me the files, i can update the kitchen....
IF there are any quesions or anything else, feel free to contact me....
Regards
Stefan
Good Idea :
I'd be happy to contribute.
Tell me which application you want me to install and I'll do it provided that I find the procedure (that I've seen being posted elsewere in this forum).
NB : I'm using XDA I with a Frenchy 3.16 and be stuck with it  ; so there is no chance for me to re-build a new a geniun 3.16 Rom again.
My XDA is all up and running.
I've overcome my Language FRA error message after purchasing a SD card reader and loading the ROM through the bootloader. 8)
Now, I'm about to install ttn 3 on my XDA. Do you want list it in your kitchen ?
What do you need exactly ?
I would be happpy to help. I am a regular user of your site and appreciate the effort that has been put into it.
I understand the effort needed to keep things working and up to date.
Pierre
I'm in!!
Just let me know what you need and when and I will maker every endevour to help.
Thanks for all you do

I've sent these snapshots off to Stefan, along with the files that I thought might be necessary for these programs. This is going to be great for all of us, but a lot of work for Stefan. We all owe him a great deal, so take him out for a nice meal the next time you see him.

I don't want to make this any more complicated than it is, but for some programs, it just doesn't make any sense to install to the XDA memory. Most of the media players and "Misc" programs just take up too much unnecessary device memory when they would work just as well on the SD Card (if that's available).
The problem is that those huge programs require just a few small files to be placed on the device itself. So after installing a few of these types of programs, you've used up a lot of device memory from these small files, even though you installed the program to your SD Card.
Is there a way to alter the kitchen a bit to allow cooking of the necessary device files only, and allow the user to later install the program to the SD Card (being careful not to overwrite the files in ROM with files in RAM)?
For instance, with the TomTom program, if you start with a clean ROM and SD card, take a snapshot, then install the program to your SD card, then take another snapshot, you could determine what files need to be on the device, and what files don't need to be on the device, and allow users to either cook the entire program or just the necessary files in the ROM. (Note: This is a good example of a run-on sentence). Would this be a difficult feature to add to the kitchen?

Maybe the esiest Option is adding a new Select Point for the kitchen like "misc", "System Tools", "Phone" ....
This means having the programs double in the kitchen, but how cares.
I don't know exactly, but when you install a program to the SD-Card, could you select the part where to place it?
If yes, this could be a big problem. Many of the programs store the path in the registry.
If no, i could also provide a ZIP-file, where the rest of the programfiles are in, hust to unzip to the Storagecard.....

I believe this really depends on (1) how well the program was written, and (2) if you can install the program with CabInst (i.e. has a cab installation).
For example, I try to keep my SD Card organized and tidy so if I use CabInst I install the program to an appropriate folder on the SD Card. If I have to install the program from the desktop, I install the program to the SD Card root, then try to move the program to an appropriate folder and update the shortcut. Most of the time this works without even changing any registry entries, but sometimes it doesn't. Two examples from the above list of applications are AOL Instant Messenger 2.0 and Pocketmind PocketMusic 3.0. To function correctly, they both need to be in their original installation folders on the SD Card.
But perhaps the best solution would be to have an associated .zip file to go on the SD Card, as you suggested.
Shawn
Now the kitchen should be up 2 date again.
Only missing is PocketConsole and the Part "Software that needs to register"
So happy cooking and again Thx a lot to all users that helped me.....
Stefan
A Windows-way for cooking a ROM would be great for two reasons: 1) Don't hassle your server with lots of traffic and 2) Practical. Advanced users could cook a ROM without having a PC with Unix.
For example I tried cooking the Spanish version of the ROM and not all the programs I chose were installed and the worst thing is that the boot logo was just garbage, it was showing program code on the screen as a logo

Marton

Ok. Fixed the problem with the bootscreen.....
Tried also adding as much application, and all have been installed.
Can you tell me, what files / programs are missing?
No one else told me that there have been a problem wirth this ROM. I think it's because of the situation that most of the useres are using WM2003 ROMS....
You can also use the kitchen under "Windows" just have to set up a Cyguin environment on your system....
Also i didn't know how many Kitchen's are implemented by other users, but mine one is the only "official". You can't believe that everyone would be able to set it up.......
Stefan
Thanks Stefan!!!!!!
Now it seems to work but if EzWAP is selected, it throws a Log error when trying to cook...
Cheers,
Marton
P.S.: Do you know if a Spanish WM2003 exists?
Edit: This is the error:
Cannot fit files in given sections
Error splitting files
Just cooked a ROM... I selected the "Windows Mobile XDA" Boot Screen and now it is not garbage anymore but now it shows mirrored and upside down...
Any ideas?

Hello Marton.
I relaised that this is a problem with the Image.
This Image have been sent to me, and i ithink it's created wih the wrong parameters....
Stefan
Happy New year to all
I've been following with this site for quite sometime until i decide to switch from HP 6365 to o2 Mini/Magician.
I've successfully mod my Mini to BS with TMob 1.13 rom & 1.13 Radio. I'm just wondering if there's any possibilities to hack the default My Documents which resides in RAM to Storage. After all I still have 17MB free Storage after BS even having all my apps install in it.
I've tried few apps with registry editor but can't find anything that relates to My Documents location. What i mean is like Windows XP where you can change the default My Doc's from \Doc..& Settings..\User...etc to the folder that you want . eg: D:\My Documents
This will actually save a little time to backup the My Documents contents in the event you get a corrupted or format your C:\ in Windows Xp or Hard Reset in the case of PPC. Simply do a restore & I have the last state that i wanted or backup.
My intention is to configure my PPC with alll the customize apps, settings & etc and do a backup. In the event i need to do a Hard Reset, i'll just need to restore my OS from backup without the needs to backup or lose anything especially the My Documents. Like i said, restore & i have the last state of OS & cofig of the last state that i wanted to.
Been searching this forum but the search functions doesn't find me any results that relate to this. Anyone have such a wild idea?
Here's my apps in storage.
SPB Pocket Plus 3
Sprite Backup 3
PocketX Photo Contact Pro 4
Cab Installer
Vcard Receiver
Flexwallet 2006
Resco Explorer
Sk Tools
Tweaks2K
Ampda Camera

Wild Idea: Leave your "My Documents" folder where it is. Use Sprite Backup to do regular (scheduled, automatically running) backups of your device and save this backup to storage as an compressed exe. That way, after a hard reset you only have to launch File Explorer, start the backup file, restore, reset, takes less than 2 minutes. Depending on how many programs are stored in RAM (non-BS) and how many/how large documents are on your device it should work flawlessly.
Thanks for the info & kind attentions. I do practice a good backup.
I'm just looking at the hack/mod as a "bonus" if it is possible.
Cheers!
kanryu: since you suggested it, try to test this out.
I suggest you do this before installing any other app, because My Documents is a system setting used in many installations and they may get confused.
HKLM > Explorer > Shell Folders > My Documents
The storage card isn't always available at boot up, so again, it might cause problems. Storage might be a better idea then storage card. But this can already be configured in the options menu in Notes, at least.
V
Perhaps you can move all of the stuff to the storage ( not the card) and then put a shortcut from main memory to the storage card directory?
with some registry modifications as well. Some software only default the storage of data to \My Documents folder so merely moving everything to Storage and creating a shortcut won't do.
O2mini_noob: which registry mods did you use?
Have you guys tried the registry keys above?
V
I have tried this hack long time ago, wishing I counld change BT dir, but it did not work.. Storage Card & Storage, both failed...
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Explorer\Shell Folders]
"Templates"="\\Storage\\My Documents\\Templates"
"Windows"="\\Windows"
"StartUp"="\\Windows\\StartUp"
"Recent"="\\Windows\\Recent"
"Programs"="\\Windows\\Programs"
"Program Files"="\\Program Files"
"My Documents"="\\My Documents"
"Fonts"="\\Windows\\Fonts"
"Favorites"="\\Windows\\Favorites"
"Desktop"="\\Windows\\Desktop"
"Application Data"="\\Application Data"
as you can see.. only templates works ( since it's not related to the OS it self )... I tried changing Fonts dir as well, did not work either
I guess this has to do with the OS it self... so it is impossible to change it..
sorry Vijay, I was merely adding to stevedebi's quote of moving the entire \My Documents to storage. Obviously you have to do some registry changes to make it happen but wouldn't be as easy as that.
To OP.
I *think* I have a similar problem to you.
Basically I want to sync my files to/from my PC/PDA but the ram on my blueangel is way to small where as my 1 gig SD ram has vastly more than I need.
Now, i have managed to relocate my Sync briefcase on the PC to d:\briefcase. All well and good, this now trys to sync to the Pda's volatile ram way to much data .... so, im half way there.
Now, how can I tell the sync software or PDA's OS to sync to a folder on the SD RAM card?
I know I can put the SDcard into my PC but this is not what I want to achieve, i want it to be seemless and done in the craddle much like contacts etc are done.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I've tried this before. Everything under this tree has been rename to \storage\my documents But after a soft reset, some of the key will revert back to default. ???
Seems like only those template folder are moveable. I'm started to suspect \My Documents are not fully handled by registry.
I'm wondering how clean the system can be if you need a 3rd party software to edit the registry such as Resco, PHM & etc. I know it's best to do it with a clean system but.... unless there's a way to edit the registry out of the PPC, or there's a standalone executeable software, which I have yet to found.
I'll see what can be figured out next. Hopefully this idea is not a 'fat hope' :?
Don't you guys try to create another "My Documents" folder in the BS and link to it a shortcut (from today)?
I have put to c-launch a link to /storage card/my documents and all is well!!!
Sorry if it's already posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it and I feel sorry for the woman having to reply to so many people individually...
You'll need to log in to download the file...
If you don't have a wizard (vario, mini-s, k-jam etc) then you need to email her to ask her for the file for your device. Please post it on this thread so that other people can find it.

"You may want to find your old backup file and extract it from there, There is a file called secrep.cab if you can find it and install it.
That's the file that installs the secure components to your device with you account info. You must use you own secrep.cab file
as it is unique to your own MS account."
RESETTING THE 6 ACTIVATION LIMIT
****************************************************
UPDATE: See the following extract from http://www.microsoft.com/reader/info/support/faq/activation.aspx#5
"How many copies of Microsoft Reader can I activate?
You are entitled to activate Microsoft Reader on up to six different devices using the same Microsoft Passport account. However, certain actions such as reformatting your hard drive and performing a full reset of your Windows Mobile device will require you to reactivate your device, which may count against this initial quota. If you reach your activation limit, you can request additional activations using the activation request form provided during the activation process."
You can request extra activations legitimately from http://das.microsoft.com/activate/en-us/extraRequest.asp?ExtraQuota=Y&Language=en-us
There is also a work-around for the 6 activations limit; see:

REMOVING DRM FROM .lit FILES
****************************************************
I have today received instructions from MS technical support to say that they don't have a version of Reader for WM6 or WM6.1. I've asked if there are plans but haven't had a response yet. So...
A quick google search reveals...
There is a program called ConvertLIT GUI avaliable from http://dukelupus.pri.ee/convertlit.php which is a bit complicated to work out but can be used to remove the DRM protection from all your .lit files in about 30 seconds. That means that you won't need to activate!!! Yay!!!
I have a QTEK 9100 upgraded with the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM but I still cannot activate.
I can see the OEMInfo.xml file and it appears to be the same as attached here.
I therefore assume I need a new version but the problem is the file appears to be read-only i.e. I think it's in ROM
Any ideas how I can update/modify the file?
I have followed the message above but the file is apparently read only Therefore I cannot change it
Activation in WM6
Just a note to say that there is also a problem activating Microsoft Reader when WM6 is installed (I have a variant of the Faria ROM).
If you follow the instructions above, then go to the activation page at microsoft as before you can activate.
I am not sure what you people try but to activate Microsoft Reader you only have to login and click ACTIVATE my Pocket Computer.
Thanks
There is a problem with some versions of MS Reader that prevents the "Activate" button from working on the MS site.
This isn't a crack to make Reader think it's activated, it's a file that should be included in the install and isn't (sometimes).
If you google for the file oeminfo.xml you should find what 'us people' are on about. It took me about two days of serious thread reading to work out how to fix the problem in the first place, hence why I posted a summary here. Since only two people have replied to this thread in over a year I'd say it's not a common problem, but it is an annoying one (or people don't use reader).
I'd be interested to know:
What device do you have?
What OS do you have?
What version of IE to you have?
What Desktop OS do you have?
Also, what are the files you've uploaded? Do they activate reader in a false name? Will properly purchased and DRM protected ebooks work with them?
oeminfo.xml file
thank you soo very much for this attachment, it totally worked and now i can view my ebooks that wouldnt open prior to the placement of this file
very happy!!
Glad to Help
Glad my post has been usueful.
seems 'us people' now number 3.
cannot open premium ebooks
hi,
I noticed that this thread had some detailed solutions for MSReader, and I hope somebody can help me with my problem.
I seem to be having a MSreader problem. I cannot open any ebooks that I've ordered online on my handheld pocketpc. Let me sum it up:
Device: HTC TyTn
OS: WM6 (official release)
Ok, I have the latest versions of MSReader for both my desktop pc (2.5..) and my ppc (2.4.1 build blabla). Both have been successfully Activated. I can open the ebooks on my desktop pc. But when I try to open them on the handheld, MSReader just crashes, no error messages, nothing.
I have been trying to figure this problem out for about 2 weeks now, and nowhere have I found a solution. MS doesn't have support for this, and I'm beginning to feel as if I am the only one with this problem.
I've reinstalled and reactivated MSReader for my pocketpc many many times, to no avail. Installation and Activation both have no problems, yet I still can't open premium ebooks. I've also copied the ebooks to the pcc's main memory, but that didn't help either.
I've run out of ideas. Would greatly appreciate any help!
Thanks
And another, Thanks.

Um, I know it won't help with stuff in .LIT format, but I'm rather partial to the mobipocket reader myself. For one, MS Reader is limited to a handful of activations EVER. If you go over that, you have to get a new .NET account and presumably none of your old ebooks will work with the new one. If you flash your device and have to reactivate, that counts as another of your activations. Need to do a hard reset, guess what, that's another activation. Mobipocket reader, on the other hand, will let you deactivate some of your old devices as far as I've been able to determine.
As far as your books go, have you been able to open them on your desktop? Also was your PPC activated using the same .NET passport account that the books were purchased with (see my note above about the limited number of activations). If it wasn't, you won't be able to activate them. In that case, I would recommend that you look into some DRM removal software for them. Of course, if you are in the United States then removing the DRM on the ebooks that you purchased makes you nothing but a petty criminal thanks to the DMCA. But if you can live with the guilt then that's the route I'd take. Here's a couple of places to get you started. Link 1 Link 2 There may be others, YMMV.

oeminfo for ipaq hx2490
I have the same problem.
tried the oeminfo file posted here- does not work with my ipaq. When I read the content it does not match my machine.
I tried msreadergirl a week ago and have had no reply (can't blame her, I'd be feeling sick after two years of this....) Can anyone send the right file please?
I have the latest version of MSreaderppc downloaded last week from the MS website. The ipaq is a repaired machine now with hx2490 board and running Windows CE 5.
I have XP with all service packs and IE6 on my laptop
I also have about 40 DRM protected books in msreader format that I can no longer read on my machine.......
thanks in advance
martin = reddinouk
I went through all this crap to activate my MSReader.. took me 2 emails to Christine before I got it to work, then I started cooking my own roms, doing hard resets, etc. and said "to hell with msreader, it's not worth the hassle" and it isn't. Quit buying DRM protected works...quit supporting this evil scheme. It's absolutely ridiculous the hoops you have to jump through to use something that you've paid for. Does MS support anything they release? Not as far as I see. The rich keep getting richer and we keep getting screwed. Instead of buying DRMed lit files, donate to project Gutenberg and read some old classics...
Of all the EBook formats out there, LIT files are the worst.
Indeed...
I have to say I am also getting sick of everything. It seems nothing actually works anymore except devices I don't want. I actually found myself impressed with my mates i-Phone the other day becuase it actually works. He loaded google maps and was poncing about so I did too. His worked, mine crashed.
If only I wasn't into .Net, push email, exchange servers etc and only wanted to do what Apple/TV tell me I want to do then I could have an i-Phone too... and I could start wearing a scarf...and a Harris Tweed coat with Winklepickers, but alas, I am a free spirit with my own mind, some pride and no dress-sense [sigh].
I'm sorry that you can't get MS Reader to work. I've stopped bothering now as I think Microsoft have. It seems stupid though since you can still buy MS Reader format books from big retailers like WH Smith and it's not really that bad a format. I certainly used to enjoy having a large library of classics with me whenever I went anywhere at short notice.
Anyway, just offically posting that I can't be arsed with reader any more. After two years of having to spend a few weeks fixing the bloody thing every time I buy a new phone I have given up.
(P.S> If anyone gets it to work on an MDA Vario III please post the instrucitions here in case I get tempted).
Hi all, i just wanted to say no probs with an xda orbit running 4.01 touch, i inherited over 200MB of ebooks with this phone all in LIT format, oh no is that drm copyright infringment lol probably came from a torrent any way hehe.
I am also unable to copy the file over to my windows directory. I have a Advantage 7510 M6.1
I tried the links above but the links are not found. I get that typical MS error message..."We are sorry, the page you requested can not be found...." yadadada.
Any idea what else I can try?

Q

Try copying to device root first and then from device us your explorer and copy to windows. It will say that file is in ROM and give you a warning. This will allow the file to be overwritten, but may not solve you problem with protected ebooks.
It seems there are serious issues with WM6 and msreader. I had been able to get it to work depending on the ROM and which version of msreader I use.
You may want to find your old backup file and extract it from there, There is a file called secrep.cab if you can find it and install it. That's the file that installs the secure components to your device with you account info. You must use you own secrep.cab file as it is unique to your own MS account.
I hope this is helpful to you and that it may prompt more dialog allowing someone smarter than I to figure out how to get this working consistently.
Right now I can't access my protected ebooks-even though my msreader is activated. This is a really bad implementation by MS.
There are some programs that allow you to extract msreader files-even the protected ones and convert them to html and other formats. I have done this, but I wish the msreader worked because I actually like it when it works.

FActivation works great.
If anyones interested, I've created a FActivated CAB and OEM for MSReader.
Yes, I've tried all those things too, the only thing that worked was 'Factivation'.
Hi
I just found a piece of software that claims to backup WM5 contacts it is 'ns contacts backup' from http://www.nyxbull.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=10
Anyway, I have had to install .NET Compact Framework v2.0, another 'Microsoft Bloater' that forced me to remove programs from memory to install it as it wanted nearly 6MB of main memory.
Anyway I have it installed now, do I need to keep it on my Hard Drive? This lousy piece of software installs just "one 5MB CAB file", yet it takes 91.0MB of Hard Drive space, and demands over 130MB to install itself, all for a 5MB CAB file.
Does anyone know which CAB it actually installs, I could not make out the full name on my Phone during install?
I was just wondering, after Hard Reset can .NET Compact Framework v2.0, be reinstalled by a local CAB file on the storage card, rather than using this bloated installer again?
Thanks

It's Micro$oft - what did you expect?
Sorry I can't answer you question regarding cab name since I am avoiding .NET CF like fire.
I am sure though that if you find the cab you can use it to install after hard reset.
Try this:
Start the installer, while ActiveSync asks you if to install to default location go to ActiveSync folder on your PC (probably in program files) and look for a cab (any cab) it should be there, or at least an *.ini file that contains the path to it (maybe the cab is in temp folder).
As for backing up contacts, there is a simple and painless way that doesn't require any installation.
In the built in file explorer select "show all files" option. Then in the root of the device you will see a file named 'pim.vol'. Just copy that to your SD.
Also I read that the new version of .NET CF 2.1 lets you install most of it on SD to save memory, but like I said I didn't try it and I don't recommend it either.

Thanks for that, the contacts were the only thing stopping me Hard Resetting and reinstalling. I have spent the past few weeks installing and uninstalling trying different software and settings to get the phone the way I want it. Now I have everything, I can reset and install everything fresh, that should then be my phone finished, until something else catches my eye.
Sorry forgot to say, so what is the purpose of Outlook with relation to this phone?
As I said, it does not pick up the phone as a device or drive, and activesync says it cannot be used for backing up contacts, so what purpose does it serve?
Seems pointless to me, would have been better if Microsoft built in some proper contact management software, after all this device was designed for business use.

The fact that ActiveSync synchronizes contacts between the device and OutLook means that your contacts ARE backed up. Well that may be how they (M$) see it any way.

But I am not getting anything in Outlook. It is just sitting there doing nothing, when I look down the device list my phone is not there, so how do I use it?
Thanks
Hi again
I have been doing some more digging and I have found that the CAB required is 'NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab', this CAB is 2.13 MB (2,240,512 bytes), so Microsoft requires over 130 MB to install itself, and hogs 91.0 MB (95,473,664 bytes) of Hard Drive space for a 2.13 MB CAB.
I found this info on http://blogs.msdn.com/netcfteam/archive/2005/10/11/479793.aspx
To save everyone the trouble I had, I tried uploading the CAB but for some reason it is not being accepted on this post, all I am getting is sending request to forum, nothing is happening. If it is wanted I will try again later.
Doesn't the latest version of .NET CF allow you to install into Storage or Storage Card?

I thought so. I had over 80MB left on my storage card, I selected storage card, but it kept giving me an error message saying I did not have enough main storage. I had to remove programs to install it, all I wanted to do was backup my contacts. Thanks to flaming Microsoft again, we get a business phone where you can not manage contacts. Microsoft the company that can never get anything right and makes Bill Gates the richest man in history, you couldn't make up such a story, could you?

Why are my posts being sent twice?
I only submit once.
Little explanation about ActiveSync and Outlook:
Your device doesn't appear anywhere as a separate ... anything.
You get a folder in file explorer that lets you browse the device, but that's it.
As for Outlook, everything that is in there and you choose to sync is copied to the Outlook on the phone and viceversa.
You can choose to sync contacts, appointments, mail, notes and tasks. You can choose how far back the device will save mails and appointments to save space. You can also sync directly with an exchange server if you got one.
So just to be clear, you sync the stuff you got, there is no separation.
Windows Mobile Package Manager 0.0.2
Windows Mobile Package Manager will help you to create software bundles and install them on WM device unattended.
Currently, it's only early pre-alpha software, to ensure that concept is working. So, expect software crashes
Description:
The life of WM device, is hard. Constant ROM flashing, re-install everything, or recover from backup. Owning WM device for an year, I really hate to reinstall everything after new ROM flash, so i decided to make software that will capture the essence of "your device":
With this application you can create package, that will do those things:
Install software that you like
Restore application configuration / settings (via registry)
Copy your files to device (video / pictures / etc.)
How it works:
Every .cab file, have information about itself. What it's name, how it should be installed and where. This application WILL MODIFY .cab information, so that it will be installed to the path, that you want. This is done, to allow unattended installation. (maybe you have a better solution than wceload.exe /noaskdest /noui /nodelete)

Great Work... looking forward to see the "TODO" workin'.
good work, waiting for your next versions!
couple of suggestions:
- integration with XDAUC
- add \Internal Storage\Program Files
- auto-load last configuration
- fix the typos in: "Instalation path managment" => "Installation path management"

Registry import, is almost complete, file copy should be simple to do.
It will generate .cab file for your .reg file. This was the easy way to implement this. But there is a drawback.. it does not allow non-ASCII characters in registry section of the .cab setup.
Updated to 0.0.2
Changes:
* Added registry support.
* Added file copy support.
* Updated usage video.
Feel free to try it
One question...
I export the Reg files with SKTools, but when i import them to your aplication there's no registry file tree...
Can you explain how to backup the reg files?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

hm, can you attach your .reg file that was not parsed correctly?
did you by any chance exported the whole device registry (ie registry backup?)
Provisioning xml files support
Would you add support for parsing provisioning xml files?
Great app! Are you planning to make a mobile version (for making changes 'on the fly')? Another superb option for mobile version would be backup! For backing up current registry entries (specified in a ini file - something like in this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491175).

1. hm, to restore provisioning.xml? Could be possible.
2. For the mobile version... it defeats the purpose of this app As you can make changes on PC very quick. For the PocketPC version.. i have a doubt about it.
3. Currently you can use CERegEditor to export specific application keys. Again on PC with mouse I found this idea interesting.. but we will see how things will move

1. Great!
2. I understand you but don't agree, that it defeats the purpose of this app. I would say it extends its usage (I can imagine, that I need it, but don't have my laptop with me... and this isn't only imagination - I already use some tools to do that). No doubts, that on a PC you can make it more comfortably, but...
3. I know and I use CeRegEditor often, but when I can use just one app... Another thing I can make a real up-to-date backup (many apps have their settings in registry and settings can change from time to time). This option would be great specially for the mobile version.
4. And what about restoring PIM backup (e.g. from PPCPIMBackup)?
I am a flashing junkie and I'm searching for such app for a long time (I wish I could make my own app, but I'm not a programmer).
I hope you understand 'my' english

2. Yes, but it's not the main use-case It's just adds additional overhead for the development, as you have to sync the mobile client and the PC client. If for example mobile client is used only by 2-3 people
3. I'm already thinking for a way to do that Probably via ActiveSync. So, for example in the UI you could define, what registry keys should be backuped, save this info in some config, and re-apply to different device. Again ,when you creating package, you can attach your WM device, and get those registry keys on the fly to the app. Something like.. live migration from WM device
4. Yes, this is good idea Again, goes well with the described above
Yes, I also like to try new ROMs.. and also was searching for something like this.. or at least the automatic .cab installation Didn't find app that suits me.. so decided to make one
I got some errors by restoring (copying) folders: e.g. "Could not find file 'Storage Card\CopyApplication Data' (when I want to restore Application Data folder).
Is it a bug or is just by me?
thx
Many Thanks
Thanks for this wonderfull application
I know there are some other auto installation programmes, but I find this program very simple and usefull. Please continue to develop it.
I only try software install software, not registry nor file transfer.
Up to now, I found a small bug :
During software installation (nearly 14 items) process, the information at the info page disappeared at the middle of installation. But after the installation finished, "Installation Finished" explanation displayed.
Could you please include a SETTING Page to select which programmes will be installed. For now, it can only be used during the first full installation. According to me, Selection option will be very usefull and make your wonderfull programme better and usage
Again my thanks and hoping to see new versions.

1. you mean, that during instalation on your device, the screen of app does not refresh? This could happen, as the instalation process takes all available CPU. I was thinking about making re-draw in the high priority thread, but then.. it's only drawing pictures and not adding value.. so it was left as it is, to give more resource for application installatin.
2. yes, this could be done
