I've started to have a lot of SMS problems. Sometimes it works fine. Other times, I somebody can receive mine, but I won't get a reply.Other times, they won't receive a sms, but I'll receive theirs. Finally, it won't work both ways sometimes. Both of our phones both say the message was sent, but I guess the SMS gateway isn't working right?
Is this a network issue, or localized issue?
try a hard rest and check if it still persists.
I would consider this a Network issue but its also possible that it might be a issue in the ROM your using i would prefer you change the ROM and then try.

Whats wrong with the phone settings when MMS messages stays in the outbox. MMS's were working earlier but not anymore.
SMS messages can be sent out without problems.
How to solve the problem?
Perhaps the send process is just timing out due to bad GPRS / 3G signal. Try restarting the phone or looking for better signal and then sending again. Worked for me.

The MMS problem has been active over two weeks now, so it's should not be a signal issue.
Get tired of this problem, so I reinstalled the device... Now MMS messages works without problems .
2.3.4 HKTW - Rooted
It seems I can't view/download MMS attachments. I can send and receive normal SMS just fine. However, when I receive a MMS, the download button is there, but it just times out and doesn't receive anything.
I've messed with APN's, double checked SMSC. Tried using a different SMS/MMS client (GoSMS), just can't get it to work.
Is anyone else having this issue or have any ideas?
(I'm aware there are multiple threads about people not being able to SEND mms, this problem is not the same)

which flash method did you use to install 2.3.4. there seems to be alot more bugs associated with the cwm method, than flashing via fastboot. I have not experienced any problems with mms on 2.3.4.
Is your mobile data on? You must have mobile data on, NOT wifi or anything. You probably do, but this happened to me once and I realized I had a widget that turned data off haha. Hope this helps! If it doesn't, maybe try looking around to do the cleanest install possible of 2.3.4 and see if it helps that (and any other bugs you might have)
Also, you didn't mention, can you send MMS? You just said you can send/receive SMS and can't receive MMS, but what about your sending?
I originally tried the CWM flash, but got nothing but boot loops. So, I then flashed a fresh 1.8.3 SBF and flashed 2.3.4 via fastboot.

Mobile data is on. I can use data via 3G. And, it doesn't appear that I can send MMS either.

I see, sorry that didn't help. I'm not sure what else could be the problem so I'm no longer able to help much...just to cover the basics, have you tried rebooting? Are you using the stock app (other than when you tried GoSMS to test the problem)? Even if data is on, are you actually in a 3G area (i.e. can you use the browser, download apps, etc.)?

I also have the same problem. To solve it, I kill sms program, change network to 2G if you are using 3G or to 3G if you are using 2G and send again every time.
I have sm-n900s the same problem ,I tried to solve it by change language to English and delete messages date, It work fine right now
Hello,
I have bought a Leeco Coolpad for my mother and everything works fine except one annoying thing. Receiving SMS does not always work while the same sim card in another device works just fine.
It's like the phone is not listening for SMS at some point and you can send as many SMS to the phone as you want, no of them ever reaches the phone while sometimes everything is working fine.
Have you experienced the same issue and if yes, do you know how to solve it? My mother uses SMS a lot so if this doesn't work, I'll have no other option than returning the phone
Thanks
Laurent
Check the APN, make sure it's configured correctly.
Check the phone manage settings. The text are probably setup to block the incoming texts.
Thanks! I sometimes receive SMS which would mean that the configuration is ok otherwise I would never receive any. It's like the default application for SMS is sometimes not listening to incoming SMS anymore. I have tried other SMS applications and it's exactly the same issue, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't for some reason.
I have the same problem on Lineage (android 9) firmware 30s (the problem also persists on 20s). The problem does not come from my provider and the APN settings are correct. Have you found a solution? I think it comes from the radio settings. Thanks!
Me and my wife both have OnePlus 8 Pros - but with different carriers (In Denmark). Non of them are rooted.
After updating to Android 11 we started receiving (and apparently sometimes sending) the same text messages over and over... Up to 5 or 6 times. It's not all messages and not all senders that's affected. But most.
Does anyone have the same problem? Anyone know of a fix for this?
I had this. Turned out it was my carrier, didn't happen on other carriers.
Sometimes happened when I was going in and out of signal strength, like a lift, it tried to send over and over and then it would send them all at once.
Change your SMS client and see if the same thing occurs.

Reception is fine when it happens. I have tried both stock sms client and Google's.
But glad to hear that we are not alone.
Will try to contact my carrier.

Mine had no idea what I meant, hadn't seen if before.
Try a different messaging client like Google messages or there are others on the play store disable stock messages..
Check APN, Message centre number, dual connection in network settings (turn that off)
