I bought my Touch Cruise from UK. It had ROM version 1.28.405.3 and Radio Rom 1.58.21.23. I installed HardSPL, and I did the Polaris Unlock. At the last stage of the unlock (where you click Unlock), it said my Polaris was already unlocked. This was after it put the patch radio on.
Since my wifi reception was never that good, I later upgraded radio to 1.68. The rom flashed ok, but ever since then, my wifi didn't get much better, and my GSM got worse! Now I get maximum 2 bars reception. Most of the time, it's one bar, or no service!
Was the unlocker the problem? Or the 1.68 radio rom? I've seen several threads on here that say the unlocker patch radio caused it, while some other threads say the 1.68 radio rom doesn't always work properly.
I hard-reset, but the problem is still there. I downloaded the WM6 Rom from the HTC website and I flashed it onto my Touch Cruise (even tho it's 1.25 and my Touch Cruise came with 1.28), but the problem is still there. I get max 2 bars, or many times no service.
I restored the original SPL, but again, that didn't fix it.
Any ideas?
All fixed got a new rom with murata built-in and the GSM reception is fine so far.

Hello, yesterday I finally flashed my ROM after a long wait and a lot of frustrations with the old, standard, ROM. But now I have a problem with it...
I can't call or being called if i have a 3G connection! If I sellect GSM in network type instead of Auto, then calling is no problem anymore.
But this mean that I lost the high speed internet...
Did I do something wrong?!
I have upgraded to WM 6.1 by Bepe and Radio 1.64.08.21. I also tried out Radio 1.58.21.23. But that didn't changed anything.

Hi Fabian, you can try the Murata Radio version.
I have the same problem. I tried Murta Radio and all other available Radio ROMs with no help. Also I tried to go back to Original ROM but still the problem exist. Any help?

I tried all kinds of radio but no luck! Read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391741 After restoring original rom and radio I send to HTC for repair and after ten days my polaris come back full working. After two days another time this problem on 3g H band! This time an hard reset worked to restore 3g-H functionality.
Now my polaris have radio 1.58.25.28 and p 25.69.30.05H and d 1.40.00.00. Reflecting well on the situation that create the problem I remember before the two crashes I used gps skinner. I think if you have used same soft or another soft gps related, the gps or the soft could be the guilty! Sorry for my english...
is 1.58.25.28 the newest official radio rom for cruise?

Polaris Radio ROM 1.58.25.28 is reported to be available with some TIM (Italy) devices shipped. Can anyone give some feedback on this radio ROM version ? Has anyone dumped and uploaded it already ?
Didn't work for me.
My assistance-returned Polaris came with this radio installed and I experienced nothing but lockups, reboots and drops on each and every incoming call.
A real nightmare (btw, my provider is TIM). I reverted to Murata 1.58.21.23 and suddenly the phone started to work flawlessly.
Also, my rom *was* 1.40.408.1 ITA; I stupidly did not save it when I switched to bepe. If anyone less stupid than me can post it somewhere... you never know...
i flashed my artemis with official htc wm6 rom one night then with yue 11.1 wm6 wwe
everthing seems to be fine but i noticed that there is no change in
splash screen that appears first and even radio remains same after yue rom upgrade
then one more shocking thing i found out that i can't call and i m not reachable when somebody else tried to call me.
i tried upgrading the radio to 3.21 then also no improvement
flashed again with artemis 4.01 no use. no change in splash screen and radio also.
now i m with yue 11.3 rom everything is working but phone is searching for signals.
also tried another sim card also

and for the YuE.. all Yue ROMS seems that don't have splash screen and radio .. so nothing change in these.. and you can try to flash another radio.
Ok, I just picked up this phone and am having major problems with the Radio reception.
Peoples phone calls either go straight into my voicemail, or I receive the call put reception is broken, I can hear a word or two every few seconds, and the other person cannot hear anything.
I'm on Rogers in Canada, anyone using this phone in Canada or on Rogers can advise which radio rom to use? I have flashed at least 6 already, even the Murata one and still no success... any help or suggestions would be great.
Just flashed the original back WWE_3.13.405.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe and its a tiny bit better, where it doesnt go straight to voice mail, but reception is horrid still, inaudible.
try flashing radio 1.59.44.02... then hard reset see if that helps

Your signature does not give an idea of which ROM you are using. However how's the reception on your other phone (elfin)? Are you using it on the same network? Since you have already used 1.59.44.02; try going back to 1.60 ROM and a Murata Radio.
Hi 02xda2, well I'm using the PDAVIET Rom, which is 3.18.457.46, which I thought I had in my signature. The reception on my Elfin is 100% and have never had a problem, but when using the same sim card in the Polaris I'm having those major issues. The Polaris is CID/SIM unlocked already using Oli's HardSPL. I'll try flashing the 1.60 right now with the Murata and reply with results.

That's actually the first Radio I had installed, and had no luck at all with it.
UPDATE #1: Just tried the with PDAVIET V30 CE OS 5.2.20748 (Build 20748.1.4.0) along with the Murata 1.58.21.23 Radio, same problems as mentioned before. I'm also going through Settings>Phone>Band and changing it to GSM, but still the problems remain.. any suggestions?
UPDATE #2: I'v flashed the RUU_Polaris_HTC_RUS_1.25.411.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_polaris_murata_Ship.exe rom as suggested in another thread, and managed to get perfect sound received, and decent sent. Unfortunately I can't read Russian, so I managed to get the RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30.04_1.58.21.23_Ship.exe which is the WWE counterpart to the RUS version, tried it with the stock Radio and no luck, flashed the Murato Radio onto the WWE and it was back to horrible.
UPDATE #3: So the only solution right now is the RUS rom, but I can't function with that as I don't read Russian. So running the HTC RUS update with radio, then flashing a new WWE rom without radio on top will work. Also atl4ntys's suggestions (below) most likely is worthy of a shot as well .
This phone being a bit aged and maybe out of warranty, how is HTC with their warranties/repairs?
hey Lokosis, have u tried c_shekhar's rom? its extremely stable, its wwe and also includes radio. u find the link in my signature. if the radio that comes with it doesn't do the job 4u then upgrade to the latest 1.58 available: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479306
If still bad signal then the only thing I can say is to falsh the original spl rom and radio and send it in for repair.
PS: Make sure u flash without the micro sd card in it and hard reset as soon as u see the config screen after u flash. good luck!
I've been using the phone for about half a year without 3G or HSDPA because I was out of coverage area
recently they launched 3G in my area and it could be picked up in my old TouchCruise but not on TouchDiamond2
I tried swapping the SIM Card but still got same results, it worked on the old phone but not on this one.
I was wondering if there is anything I could do to get the 3G to work as I want to make vdo calls

I have had the same problem since beginning and have it resolved last moth.
Basically it should be radio firmware issue. I've tried flashing all ROM available in the Radio ROM thread, but didn't help. Lastly I reflashed my TD2 with the latest stock ROM for my area (Asia) downloaded directly from HTC website. To my supprise - although Radio version was same as my previous one (got from Radio only thread) - 3G started working!!!
Now I reflashed the phone using OS only modded ROM but 3G still OK.
ok so I have to flash the original ROM (stock rom from the htc site)
to get the 3G to work
but I dont really like the stock roms (especially not the Thai one)
would I be able to flash something else on top of it later?
Sure you can, like I did.
If your phone is un-locked with HSPL - you cannot flash the stock ROM as per HTC guideline. You need to extract the downloaded one to get the ROM .nbh file and use it for flashing like with other customized ROM. Then later you can update you phone with any customized ROM with no Radio part inside.
