Has anyone managed to upgrade or change rom?

Has anyone managed to successfully upgrade or change rom?
If yes, what rom did you start from and what steps for the upgrade/transition?

I'd like to know the same thing. My Orbit came loaded with TMo MDA Compact III ROM instead of O2 ROM. Needless to say I'm a bit peeved. The vendor is trying to fix but I really need the UK or WWE English ROM for O2. Has anyone dumped this ROM?

well,
on the wiki you will find the tmobile uk wwe rom. this is flashable if your machine is cid unlocked-in case it is not(standard) you will get kicked out off the installation by a comment named "wrong ID model" at about 3% of the running routine.
to unlock cid and flash the named rom, afaik the only way is to pay imeicheck.co.uk.
afaik there is no other vendour rom available yet, meaning no chance to fully switch to e.g. O2 etc.
alternatively you can exit the installation prior to extrom installation via a softreset at the 3second count. this not installing your provider cabs, you can then download the various available extrom cabs from the wiki and install them manually by copy and double-tap on your device.

This is helpful info. Can you help me with this question: I have a greek htc p3300 rom but I would be happy to have the English version. Should I simply prevent ext rom from installing or do I need to change rom? If I need to change rom will I be able to do so or could it be locked to the Greek rom?

language is purely locked to the rom version and has simply nothing whatsover to do with the extrom version cabs you install!!!
in order to change language to english then you have to use a rom stating...."wwe" somewhere in its declaration.wwe=worldwideenglish.
now your machine "htc p3300" is with wireless lan, right? afaik, the tmouk rom has not implemented wlan on my german hero(without wlan!). the community here still isnt sure where the wlan comes from, the chip or the rom. so if i remember correctly and the tmouk rom not having wlan support, but your machine needing it, then once u unlocked cid and install the tmouk rom should end you up not having a functional wlan! in case we suppose wrongly...you are the guinnea-pig...you should have wlan. confusing? well i simply dont know off by heart any more about the uk machines having or not having wlan.

The Greek version does have wlan so I will wait to see if somenoe manages to find a wwe rom that is wlan enabled before experimenting.

Need help

Hi everyone, i'm a very satisfactied italian herald user, but i need some tips..
i got the original rom from htc with Wm6, 4.17.408.2 ita
1) i've, of course, some ram problems, should i change rom? is that safe? I use herald mainly for business, what about all my files, contacts, etc. if i change rom?
2) i'm trying to use my pc lan connection to surf on my herald, but i can't find out how....any tips?

You can upgrade your rom and still use it for business. I would suggest using a stable Herald rom such as one of these:
HERALD.ASerg.WM6.1.WWE
Touch-IT v4.4 and 4.41 WWE P4350

SPV m650 GPS / GPRS problem

Hi, I have Orange France SPV m650, after upgrade to any rom except the Orange original rom, GPS not connecting, I installed the Kulbut0r_GPS_Quick_and_Dirty_Fix_for_SPV_M650_WM6.cab, its works, but only when the gprs connection is open. Please help to fix gps connection and disable automatically gprs starting. Will be looking forward for the updates.

I use the AJE_FR 2.0 rom with a SPV650 from orange, a tool in this rom configure windows for a spv650, you must to select "spv650-agps", the GPS driver isn't the same for a spv650 than for a P3300.
after windows ugrade, the radio rom is 3.07.90 version, it's better if you downgrade to a 2.98.90, there are some GPRS troubles with 3.07.90.

unlock htc magician - s100 problem

howdy ... i want to unlock my s100 and i`ve found some free solutions that....
HTC Unlock 1.2 doesn`t support Magician platform (it ain`t in the menu ) ...... i`ve tried also with xdadev_all_unlock but it says "unknown deviece type HTC Magician"... here is the log :
"xdadev_all_unlock started
device=HTC Magician
could not find security key for device type HTC Magician"
if there is any help i`ve installed on it rom v 3.03 wwe by cotulla, radio version 1.12...
do i have to have installed another official rom for this to work?.... thank you

Sim Unlock Iolite

did anyone now how can I unlock a Iolite.
I´ve flashed an new rom 6.5 german on my device.
but when I take my sim-card into this device then I don´t can register in my provider network (no reception)
what can I do?

the iolite is running with any sim-card. after my flashing to wm 6.5, the iolite must be switch off by the telephone function and switch on.
then he is running really good..
