can anyone help me with this..
i dont know which forum to go..
my phone is o2 xda2 mini
im confused of the pic of charmer and magician..which one is my phone?its almost the same pic as mine...
i want to upgrade or update my software to wm6..or wm5 any one can help me with that?
this is my device information
ROM version: 1.13.00 WWE
ROM date: 08\18\05
radio version 1.12.00
protocol version 1337.42
extrom version 1.12.550 wwe
amy hardware
CPU intel (R) PXA272
speed 416mhz
ram size 64mb
flash size 64mb
flash chip size 28F256L18
data bus 32bits
identity model no. PM10A
IMEI 354819002040033
You definately have a Magician
There is no such thing as WM5/6 for Magician. The closest look-alike is the 2.03ROM from Taxist (which actually causes problems for some people)
tnx!!anyway to enhance my magician?just to make it more fun to use
It doesn't make sense you go try experimenting with new ROMs, then end up with a 'bricked' Magicain. If you are good with JTAGs, then by all means...
i know what will happen..i already flashed some sony ericson phones..i wanna try some for o2 xda2 mini
I think it'd be better just sticking with original ROMs.
If you want something new, why now use a 'kitchen' to cook up your own custom ROM?
ahh ok..how about chnging the software?
Related
Have been to the kitchen and done some cooking the last night.
Facts:Using SD card for all upgrades
Never cook anything but the Base ROM itself (e.g. no extras)
The upgrade works perfect every time, meaning it ends successfully so that I can do a cold boot to start the "new" ROM image.
ROM version org: 3.16
Current ROM: 3.20.06 ENG
Radio version: 3.19.01
Protocol version: 32S54
Model No: PW10A1
RAM: 32MB
Flash size: 32MB
SD Card size: 64MB
I have been able to switch back and forth between different 2002 ROM's
but every time I upgrade to 2003 ROM the unit hangs on the introductions screen. I see the splash for instans 4.01.19: s "Welcome to T-Mobile"
In the bottom right corner I can see the Protocol version, ROM version and Radio version numbers. BUT there it is and it does not respond to any buttons or even magic words like pretty please with suger on top.
I have tried the following versions:
4.00.33 GER, 4.01.00 ENG, 4.01.16 ENG and A.30.09 ENG
I have no problem getting back to a working unit with almost any 2002 ROM but hey I wanna try it out with a 2003 ROM.
Any ideas anyone? I have been looking around quit a bit but cant see that anyone posted something that helps me out here.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this great forum!

not sure but maybe the 32MB ram is too little for 2003
these devices are pretty rare i think
maybe you should try doing a search for people with 32MB devices
and their exp with 2003 ?

The 32 MB shouldn't be the problem. Using myself a device with only 32 MB without any problems with WM2003 .....
Maybe it's a problem with the Radio Stack...
Nearly all the providers of a WM2003 Release included a Radio Stack Update. Myself i've tested it with the 4.21 and the 3.23. Maybe yours 3.19. is just too old.....
Stefan
Ok, here we go again,
found the Radio Stack Upgrade from O2 uk (V421)
and upgraded witout problem to this one.
No I tried to upgrade with 2003 ROM 4.01.16 ENG but still same thing.
It hangs on boot screen even though it now in the lower right corner says:
G32S54
R4.21.00
4.01.16
I will try to load ROM A.30.09 ENG now.
I let you know how it goes.
/Jonas
Still no luck
Ok I have now tried will all known 2003 ROMs from the kitchen with the same sad result. (hang on boot screen as before)
I now downloaded the official O2 uk release of upgrade for XDAII (Xda_II_Upgrade_v16050.exe) when I unpack this one I find the following files that might be useful ms_.nbf, NK.nbf, Radio_.nbf.
When I try to write the NK.nbf to my SD card XDATools tells me that it does not recognize the file format.
I think I have seen something about this error but I cant find it now.
Im not even sure if this ROM will work. I can not see that this ROM is uploaded in the kitchen either but perhaps it will be?
So Im still stuck so any tips would be great and I keep testing new ways ahead.

hi. as LumpiStefan commended, you need to upgrade the latest radio stack. I think the radio stack 6.24 will work for you. check my posted for the radio stack.
Secondly, the radio stack will work it its specific OS rom image. for example, the radio stack for Tmoble , must match the Tmobile OS. you can not use radio stack built for O2 for Tmobile OS.
Therefore, try to upgrade with matching OS and its Radio Stack. I tried one night with all OS from Tmobile, ATT and OS to come with these solutions.

That´s wrong. 6.24 is for PW10B Models with 900/1900 MHz GSM. Do not use it on your device

That´s wrong too. Already used some T-Mobile ROMS with O2 Radiostack....

hi LumpiStefan,
Okay. I am wrong. this radio stack use in USA.
Also, I don't know but I had tried to swap the radio stack O2 to run on Tmobile or ATT, the radio stack never turn On.
Also can you help me to have a radio stack version 4.20 or lower. ther repair.zip contain version 4.21. Thanks for correcting me.
I hope this is the correct forum.
I have access forthcoming 8125 and was wondering if a rom dump was needed and what tool I should use to do it. I have one that I used for the Apache but I wasn't sure if there was a better tool to copy the everything and if it was needed.
does anyone know a release date for the 8125? I read on some other forum that its delayed till feb 1st. Also is it really 802.11b? the k-jam is 802.11g/b why would they downgrad it?
And yes i would be interested in the rom because i'm gonna get the k-jam till the 8125 is released so i'd like to have the cingular provided rom.
I think it's worth trying. I did it and I have no experience at all .
Grab the aWizard tools in the forum and try dumping it and the extended ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
I'm curious the final specs on it, because I heard it was going to be improved over the Qtek 9100/K-Jam (better CPU, camera...?) Any chance to post those as well?
Also, can you post the current ROM informatoin from Settings...System...Device Information?
(BTW aWizard only dumps the OS ROM and Extended ROM, so if you have a custom tool that pulls also Radio firmware, etc., it might be better)
if you do end up dumping the rom, do you think it will work well with the k-jam?
I have no idea if it will work on other phones. I am not an expert on what to do with the ROM. I was just wondering if someone would be interested and hoping for links to the tools. I will pull the rom tonight when I get home.
once again i'm interested, because i'm getting the k-jam in a couple of days and then i'm going back to texas and would like the cingular rom for compatibility issues.
also i read somewhere that there are some hardware differences between the k-jam and the cingular 8125 so i dont know if it will work. but i'll give it a try.
did you ever end up dumping the rom? I got my kjam yesterday and going back to texas in 2 days and i'd like to have that rom on my device.
Have to ROM. Who can I send it to?
Here is the information from the Settings->Verison

Uploaded it to the FTP
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Roms/Cingular/cing-8125.zip
I just installed the Cingular 8125 Rom on my Qtek 9100. So far I don't see any differences from the 1.6.7.1 ROM
Old Rom
ROM Verision 1.6.7.1 WWE
ROM date 11/28/05

ROM date 11/1/05
Radio Version 01.13.10

All the Cingular customizations must be in the Extended Rom. Could someone please upload the Cingular Extended Rom to the FTP site?
so the Cingular ROM is 1.6.11.1 with a 11/1/05 date and the QTEK ROM 1.6.7.1 has a 11/28/05 date...seems strange that a higher ROM would have an older date. oh well...time to flash AGAIN!
Installing .nba File?

I have a MDA Vario that I flashed iMate ROM onto while I've been waiting for Cingular's 8125. I joined Cingular last week and would like to flash over to their 8125 ROM. How did you install the .nba file to your unit?
Thanks, Craig
Sorry to high-jack your thread...
So I have the SX-66 from Cingluar, is it worth to upgrade [buy this new phone]?
Have you tried the bluetooth yet?

I have used both a Motorola HS820 BT headset and GlobalSat BT-338 GPS receiver with my HTC Wizard (MDA Vario) without problems. I have flashed the iMate ROM/Radio combo onto my unit though replacing the Qtek ROM/Radio. I also paired a friends Jabra BT250 without a problem and answered/called to confirm.
supposedly the 8125 is... if nooneelse does first, i'll dump mine when it gets here in 2 days, so i can flash my kjam up to speed and then post it...
rom: 1.8.11.1
DATE: 11/24
had a guy look but he has no clue how to dump it...
@brunoflipper: you can dump your ROM [OS only] and Extended ROM [cab files] using aWizard here is the link to the thread for instructions and downloads. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37386
Hi,
I'm a new (and already happy) owner of this fantastic device.
I've bought the VODEFONE 1640 ITA and suddenly upgraded with latest italian I-MATE ROM image.
The new ROM image works well but I find out that the RADIO IMAGE installed (1.9.0.0) it's older than the original (1.14.0.0).
Right now those are the version of my ROM:
Radio Version: 1.09.00
Protocol Version : 42.42.P8
ExtROM Version: 1.30.81 ITA
Considering I'm a dummy, what are the main differences on those versions?
Moreorer anytime I start the phone I get the error message: "I-MATE CONFIGURATOR application is compatibile only with I-MATE devices. It's suggested to disinstall this apps from the device"
Did I do something wrong or it's a common error after a ROM upgrade?
Thank you for your support and long life to the HTC!!!
Pablo

It is 1.09.00, not 1.9.0.0. Radio 1.09.00 is not too bad a Radio, but again it depend on your network in your area. So the only way to find out which is the best, you have to try it out, because different version works for different person.
HTC products seems to be not getting any better as more competitors are coming up with equal and better devices. Although now Universal is still in its own class, but next year there should be some or at least 1 of such product to give us more choice. Anyway read more in this forum and also my 1 year experience using this device and you will find that the mechanical & battery of Universal by HTC really sucks!
Hi all,
First post here after discovering this wonderful resource!
I am in the UK and have an O2 XDA Mini S, it was one of the first ones released I think.
I took off all of the O2 stuff as soon as I got it as it was extremely slow!
While it is ok most of the time, the performance can get pretty bad sometimes, seems like theres a memory leak somewhere.
Once rebooted its ok again for a few days.
The IPL and SPL version are both 1.05. I take it this is a very old (First?) version, and was wondering if upgrading it to a newer ROM would help the performance at all?
Other specs are as follows...
Rom Version - 1.5.4.2 WWE
ROM Date - 11/08/05
Radio version - 01.09.10
Protocol Version - 4.0.13.20
Ext ROM version - 1.5.4.102
Thanks...

Can't say I've used a 1.x rom version on my Wizard, but I have used a couple of official 2.1x roms, as well as Faria's WM5 rom and now I use Zoki's NBD WM6 rom. I can definitely say that I've seen performance improvements as I upgraded along this path. I've also found memory mgmt seem to be better on WM6 and I actually see memory reclaimed often, where this never happened before WM6.
Another thing to do is use batterystatus or omap to (slightly) overclock. I overclock to 260MHz using batterystatus.
Thanks for that Titus666,
Bit of a newbie with these things so excuse the question...
Does the ROM contain the OS then? eg. I have WM5 on mine. If I updated to another ROM would it update the OS to WM6 too?
Think I'll have to try a ROM update or 3 then, and try not to break it!

Yes, a ROM would contain the OS as well as the supporting apps and drivers like Bluetooth and Wifi etc. So there are many ROMs that are all WM5 but are all different, and similarly there are lots of ROMs that are WM6 but are all different as well.
So yes, if you want WM6, you will need to upgrade the rom. There are a number of sticky threads in the Wizard forums that spells out what needs to be done and what the traps are (and there are lots of traps), so read read read is my advice.
By virtue of my 2 x XDAII's failing for whatever reasons (abuse, long-life, etc.), I had to shift to one of my XDAII's (BA) with base OS:
=======================================
WM2003 SE
Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0)
Processor: Intel(R) PXA263
Memory: 125.77 MB
ROM v.: 1.40.00 WWE
ROM date: 03/10/05
Radio: 1.12.00
Protocol: 1337.42
ExtROM v: 1.40.923 WWE
Model No.: PH20B
=================================
I have found that this phone is WAY SLOWER than the XDAII - it's really incredibly slow! (And I had my XDAII with less RAM available!)
I have had problems connecting in Mumbai (India) with Vodafone (this happens with other units (EDGE modem/XDAII) too, but this is *extreme*!
I have to shut off the radio (put into flight mode) then back on, in order to connect to GPRS, or it simply will not connect!
I have tried flashing the ROM for the radio to 1.15, but I have to edit the file on the unit, else I get the error - it's really very time-consuming!
I'm afraid that all my time that I put into this unit will go to waste if I do not have a stable unit that I can rely on....
Any feedback on this?
Thanks!
Try the T-Mobile's rom or PDA2K's rom in Blue Angel Upgrading section.
The O2 rom bugs me too much.
Also install O2 Asia upgrade (I guess u r running a non asian one thats why BA isnt showing compatibility with ur network. Try upgrading to WM5/6 and see if u have luck on GSM/GPRS since majority of asian networks phail with BA WM5/6/6.1/6.5

Which is the best upgrade (simplest) to do, stable, with almost no bugs, with a similar to original config/options?
TIA!
well first of all if you want less bugs do not install the OEM crapware (the extrom software) you may even resize the extrom partition to 128 k to use the space as storage
http://alevri.atspace.com/ - updated Shipped roms list and mirrors which i will keep online
My advice is to flash the latest t-mobile 1.42 rom delete radio and extrom update files and flash rom only

Wow - thanks for the tips - wonderful to have the gurus of the BA helping us!
So, how does one delete the radio files?
I unzipped and extracted, then ran the .exe file, which started the RUU update.

Why can't you? Keep in mind that you can only do this only in 2003. So, from what I have read in your other posts you are either in 6.1 or in 6.5 (going back to 6.1). You have to use the Repart_doc and the ExtRom Unlocker tools in order to do so.
Aside from everything, I have been using xplode's version of 6.5 and I am pretty happy with it (both stability and usability)-wise.
If you are absolutely disgusted by it, you should try sun_dream's 20578. Best 6.1 that I have had...
Hope this helps.
