my mistake. please delete.

So our dialers don't work with Verizon Touch? I would think it would be the same as Sprint Touch. Didn't hear any complaints from our threads concerning Verizon Touch.

it would be nice if you ask our permission first if you are using our graphics before starting your own thread.

It works, think he just redid a few graphics. Definitely should have asked though.

sorry for starting a new thread. i did not want to confuse everyone. when i used your CDMA dialers i get the progress button label overlaid over your buttons. the verizon dialer uses blank buttons and dynamically places the button titles over them. i did not post this to take any credit away from you guys. i just thought a separate thread would be better since from the dialers seem to be different at least they are on my 6900 and the other that i tested this on.
feel free to have this taken down. just thought i would share this. i am not asking for praise or donations.
thanx again,
-Tom

the sprint touch is the same way, and so are all "touch" dialres. My cab has registry changes that removes the labels. It works for most people but there are a select few that also reports the label still present. My theory is that with registry changes, if it doesn't ask you to soft reset, it takes a while for registry changes to take place and most people don't wait long enough and do a physical soft reset, thus the registry changes did not take place. Do me a favor, i'm sure you are happy with your dialer, but can you uninstall yours and install one of my v3 dialers again and wait at least 4 minutes before you "soft reset" and tell me if the labels persists (let me know in my thread). The 6900 verizon and sprint phones should have pretty much the same core dialers.
This is one of the reason why I would want these sort of post to be on the same thread, so the similar discussion that follows is in the same thread. But it is up to you if you want this separate thread going. You are always welcome to post this dialer in our thread. I will link it from the first post.

tom108,
I do hope you will repost your work in our thread. Others may like it.

W I N D L Es To Do List

I'm on a mission! These are the things that I want to change on my x1. If you know of a way to fix any of these then please please please let me know how.
Here they are in no particular order
1) Auto Que text messages
By this I mean.... if I try to send a text message with no signal I get a big nasty red message saying something along the lines of Message Was Not Sent. Try again? and a loud annoying beep to follow
What I want...... Is to be able to hit send, jam the phone back in my pocket and get back to what I was doing. Happy in the knowledge that if I didn't have signal when I sent the message, it will automatically re-send as soon as I walk into signal.
2) Find a free way of making video calls (I can only get skype to make voice calls)
3) Skin the text messages or find a text message panel to make it easier to use and less ugly
4) Add a storage card shortcut to my start menu
5) Stretch the landscape pin entry to full screen
6) Get the OK button to actually cancel and close things
PROBLEM SOLVED With WkTASK I can hit the x button then select "close" or "close all"
7) Stretch the landscape keyboard to the full length of the screen
PROBLEM SOLVED With Finger Keyboard 2 the keyboard is stretched across the full length of the landscape screen. Plus I no longer have to sharpen my thumb nail to a point to be able to send a text message
8) Totally Remove today screen lines (not just change the color)
9) Play Game Boy Advance Roms in full screen landscape mode
10) Remove "today" and recent programs icons from the start menu.
11) Stretch the top right cross button
I have installed gtrabs SEX1 "F" series Task bar icons and I love them. id also like to stretch the x at the top right of my screen to twice its width. To make it easier to press.
PROBLEM SOLVED With WkTASK I have skinned the x button its not allot bigger but it dose make it easier to press.
12) Make it easier to change tracks whilst driving
I have a sat nav style phone holder that sticks my x1 to my car windscreen in landscape mode, with the buttons out. I connect my x1 to my car stereo and pump out the tunes via my car speakers. But with the media experience panel its so hard to change tracks without looking, the button is so small its dangerous
PROBLEM SOLVED The driving panel is more than what I was looking for it has mph, track shuffle, sat nav button, and perfectly sized volume, track skip, and pause buttons, Xuanlong got it to me 10 days before it was released!
13) Stop the experience panel changing color I want it to stay ocean blue

Where did you get the on the road panel from??
(Pre Release) On The Road Panel
(Pobierz = Download) right click, save target as. some people have problems downloading I managed to get it to work on Internet Explore. Other new panels here but are reported to be a bit buggy.
On the Road Panel looks great, but the navigation button/config does not work
Where can I get my TT maped to the button?
now, that's just lame... this problem fixed by someone @ sonyericssonx1.proboards.com... it sort of sounds like:
'the xda community has once again proven to be unfriendly and unhelpful but thanks god someone at proboards helped me out there, so why don't you guys and gals all come along and let's help ourselves by posting links to stuff that's on xda'
come on dude, you could have just read through topics on this forum to see what's out there that might be useful or used the search option, most of the issues you had and wanted resolved were quick hits
To make the reply box larger in messaging you can use Total Commander to search for and edit the file thread_sms.htm in the windows directory. It's a hidden file so make sure you have 'show all files' checked when you search for it
Look for this line:
<inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBECT" width="98%" height=35 spell focus count .. .. ..
Change height (in this case 35) to 70 and you get 3 lines for text replies. Just change the numbers and see what works for you and soft reset after editing the file...
Still an ugly interface but much easier to use. Mine is set at 140.
Sorry, but I had to post this. I saw the other shameless plug for your site on another thread as well and didn't bother to comment. I hate people who say "this looks like an ad" and "you should use search"... but this looks like an ad and you should use search.
I personally don't really care if you want to share your website with others, my only issue is that you should give credit where credit is due.
Might want to change your post to read "problem solved thanks to X @sonyericssonx1.proboards.com WITH solutions that could have easily been solved by using the search function from XDA developers" since most of those tools came from here anyway (apart from the driving panel. wktask is a japanese program, but it was adapted into english on these boards).
But to be honest, if you cant use the search function here, it's probably best to post elsewhere anyways.
PS most of your other points can be found here as well. Just use search.

Classic QFT.
Like I said before, I have no problem with you and your board, but don't rub it in our faces every chance you get.
Again, most of these questions can be answered fairly easily using XDA search.
As I imagine it can be hard to do the storage card shortcut, I'll give you a hint on it. On your phone, navigate to \windows\start menu. There you'll find a whole lot of shortcuts. Copy and rename the extension one of them to .txt and open it. You'll see a nice and comprehensable path there. Adjust it, save and rename back to .lnk. You're all set!
For the shortcut problem (storage card): why don't you try the easiest way "copy"->"paste as shortcut" in File Explorer. That's the most standard way to create shortcut.

Damn you dudes are harsh. He has an awesome site. It's like XDA-dedicated to the X1. Give him a break?? He doesn't get paid for anything, and spends alot of time on that site; only to contribute to the X1 family.
And the comments of [email protected], come on?? No one here knows who some1 is if he just like posts 'xuanlong' or so, but he refers to one of the members of his site. I can tell you now that you wont find all of the contributors and be able to pm them if he just gives their nicknames?
Place yourself in his position before posting your 'comments'.

very very debatable... um, actually, very not true
Jeese, some of you guys are like spoilt little kids,
All this guy has done is to take some of his time to make a site dedicated to the X1 and simply gives you links to other websites that have some cool programs on them. It is actually very useful for people who dont have the time to go searching through all of the XDA site.
XDA is a good site but can be difficult to find things relating to the X1 specifically through the search when you only have 5 mins.
You guys are just slating someones hard work for no reason, if you dont like it then don't go to it and dont comment on it.
RESPECT!!!

Ah wow dude, thanx. Someone actually understands and realises this dude's work. It's so much simpler to get around on his site.
I admit, nothing will beat XDA, but this site is dedicated to the X1, much more userfriendly and easier to find things.
All we need is more members and contributions, and that site might become the number 1 Xperia site.
Just take a look at his site. If you don't like it, your loss. And keep your comments for yourself. If you do like it, help out a bit!

As for you other lads who feel like being windle's knight in shining armor, you're behaving just as bad by "bashing" those who oppose his website. Not everyone has to like it, but they have just as much right to post they don't as windle has right to post about it in the first place. Basically, I'm pulling a "right back at ya" here - if you don't like their posts, ignore them!
Besides, he's still advertising his own site, with links to this site, on this site! Doesn't that strike you the least bit as odd?

Resco Contacts. It'll reskin the dialer, the call registry, your contacts and messaging.
PointUI Pro (unreleased).
Touch-IT v4.5 - The new Touchflo pretty much covers over the Winmo interface entirely.
There the ones i've used, others might have other solutions. Touch-IT is the best, but of dubious legality. PointUI will be great eventually, but it's still in early stages. Resco is OK, needs work but it's perfectly useable and better than the standard Windows Mobile stuff.

Gee, how could anyone find XDA unfriendly and unhelpful? I wonder... do you think... it could be posts like that?
Again, I love XDA, it's got good stuff, but all too often, on receives replies that are not friendly or helpful. My opinion is, if you dont have something worth while to contribute, dont bother replying, if it's just to tell them to search, or complain, etc.
And there's nothing wrong with giving a little credit where credit is due. I've seen plenty of links on other sites and blogs, crediting users at XDA in a similar manner.
Since you've already acknowledged some of XDA's perceived flaws, perhaps we could try to improve that image, rather than just taking shots at another site?

help

can blue angel run this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469865
you can install it, i had a previous version installed with sun_dream's wm6.1 rom and i thought i had an improvement. another thing is: i just checked the registry and the values mentioned in the thread do not exist on my xplode 21202 rom, so i don't know whether it would change anything to install it, it wouldn't do any harm, but then don't expect any improvements, if you do, please respond here and write azharsunny, that his tweak works for the ba too so he can add it to the list of compatible devices
Also, could you Edit the tittle of first post to something more like " iTouch Tweek" for BA ???? So others would be more interested in reading.
I would also suggest to test it and let us know.
Edit: Also, are you looking for better sensitivity with your finger or with the stylus? I've found that when you do the Screen Setting, if you do it with your finger, and gently touch the crosses, it give you more sensitivity when using finger.
Ive tryd this reg change my self there's no difference what so ever, on our BA's that is.
It could be that since this reg tweak was meant for other devices, the values are elsewhere. I remember changing the screen sensitivity a while back in WM6 and it does work. I'll try to see if I can remember the entry, but it does work. I don't know if this "program" works or not, but I guess trying it wouldn't hurt.
@Nev2Star
markanthonypr is absolutely right. Please refrain from opening a thread with a title like that. Whenever you create a thread, please make sure that the following conditions are met:
[highlight]* You are posting it in the right section of the forum:[/highlight]
This is clearly a specific program compatibility issue and it sure does not deserve a new thread for it. You could have just created a post in the thread where you found the program or you could have asked in the "Questions and Answers" section of the forum. Remember, this is only for WM6+ development, testing, etc. and not for specific programs. This is not the first thread that you have opened with similar purposes in the BA section and I am simply asking you to open them in the right section (which is not this one).
[highlight]* Make a title for your thread that is specific for your problem:[/highlight]
Again, if you want someone to look at your question seriously (or even look at it at all), put a title that clearly explains what you are looking for. A title of "help", doesn't say anything. What happened? Did your BA crash? Are you trapped in a coal mine? You need help with math homework? What does "help" tell the other members looking into possibly helping you out? Absolutely nothing.
[highlight]* That the thread doesn't already exist / the question hasn't been asked before:[/highlight]
In this case, there is a full thread in the Dev & Hacking section solely dedicated to this program. There is no need for a new thread talking about compatibility of this.

Alphabetizing Icons

I've been searching for days now, and can't seem to figure out why the icons are all mixed up...
Is there anyway to alphabetize the icons in the start menu?
I have a bunch of games loaded in a games folder and it's all mixed up, any ideas?
I tried searching the site and even googled it and all I came up with was a registry edit, but I don't have the key they say to edit.
I even tried deleting the folder and putting the icons back one at a time, in alphabetical order, but they still end up mixxed. ??

You seem to be new to the forums. Thank you for joining XDA-Developers.
Please take a minute to go over the Rules and Regulations of the forum.
Also, it seems that you are a Blue Angel owner, in which case I will encourage you to go over the BA forum regulations here
For questions, please use the search function in the site or simply Google for an answer. More than likely, your question has probably been answered before and the answer is floating around somewhere in the site. That being said, unless you are contributing to the site with either skins, roms, ports, new applications, programs, games, etc., please [highlight]do not[/highlight] open new threads. However, if you do have questions, you can post them either in the BA Q&A section or in the General Q&A section.
Thanks.
I did search the forum, and I googled it... I'm new to this forum, but not computers or the internet, I know how to search, been doing it since 1988.
I posted this question in the Q&A thread, but it was ignored, so I posted in the general forum.
Sorry If I offended you, but I never received a response to my question, I figured somebody else here was experiencing the same problem, maybe not.

It isn't a matter of me being offended, I am (as well as others) trying to keep some order in the forums. I do know that sometimes questions in the Q&A don't get answered right away, but if someone from the Q&A team (or other members out there) know the answer, they will reply. Maybe the reason why your question wasn't answered is because no one really knows the answer (or has bothered looking into it). You getting annoyed at the way the forums are handled does not give you the right to say "screw it, I'm opening a thread(s) anyways". On top of that, remember that not a single member in this site is forced to give you an answer. We all do it out of trying to help each other out since we are a community.
All of us have to abide by the site's rules.
Last but not least, this is a General Question (like you stated earlier) and not a device specific question. All I am saying in my previous post is "please follow the rules". If you searched earlier and posted the right questions in the right places, then either be patient or pm someone. Most of us are happy to help.
Anyways, now to your question. The way in which WM is designed, the application icons normally get a "first come, first serve" position. In other words, they are placed in chronological order of installation (at least in "Program Files"). I do not know if there is a way to organize the WM menus so that they will show apps in alphabetical order.
What you can do is look for a launcher or a replacement for the Program Folders (look in the Dev and Hacking sections for these). These normally organize the icons alphabetically and they are shown in a list format rather than a grid. I do agree with you though, it is pretty disorganized.... but then again M$ doesn't really care about the alphabet
Hope this helps...

I recently had this issue with the new AT&T Fuze ROM. Check around in your PROVXML files for anything similar to the code below. Note: This example code is from an AT&T ROM, but you may find something similar. If you do, delete it, and everything will return to standard Alphabetical order.
Code:

I figured that was the case, so I deleted all the icons in the folder, then copied them back from my PC, in alphabetical order, and they still ended up scrambled, M$ blows.
egzthunder1, you are f*cking idiot :/ i hate people like you :/ look. how loong it takes you to write that kind of sh*t? If you don't know the answer, don't write anything. If you want to make some new posts, there is off-topic thread. Everyone, at the beggining, is a begginer! It's not his guilt, so help him if u can, but don't do that sh*t :/ what a stupid country :/ & what a f*cking pommy :/ i'm proud i'm from PL
In WM6.5, you have option "move to the top" in start menu, if u tap and hold on icon, so u can sort all your icons, one by one.
Also you can use other launchers, which are more configure able.
btw sorry for bad english
MOD EDIT: The profanity is not needed. First warning... next step is a 3 day vacation.
I fugured it out...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\Games
That's the folder I put all the games in, and inside that registry key was a bunch of .lnk entries corresponding to the games I had installed, each key had a rank, so I took the largest number of the key, and put that on the first icon, then in alphabetical order I changed the rank of each of the .lnk keys, decreasing by one as I went down the list, soft boot, now the folder is exactly how I wanted it.
Thanks

Let's watch the personal attacks. Regardless of how you feel about egzthunder1 reply, there is no place for your post either. It serves no purpose other then to incite a fight.
While egzthunder1 could have said what he did in a couple different ways, he is not wrong in pointing members (new OR old) to the rules of XDA-Developers. He did not berate the OP in any way; he simply informed him of the policies in place here that require a member (again, new OR old) to search prior to posting in an existing thread, or creating a new one.
Q&A sections are popping up in just about every forum because of an experiment done in the Raphael section that was a complete success. In case you may have missed it, the forum rules have recently been updated. I quote:
Flar said:
1. Search before posting
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.
2. Be polite and respect your fellow xda-dev user.
There is no need for cursing, flaming, racism or personal attacks. There are a lot of different nationalities on this forum all with different cultures, this means that no matter what you're like, you'll have to adjust to people that are most definitely not like you. It will gain you a lot of respect if you help to keep the peace. It's disrespectful and therefore not permitted to create Alias Member names in an attempt to deceive others.

While I don't necessarily appreciate the insults, particularly considering that I have not offended you (or even talked to you), I will say that if I have spoken badly in any manner, then point me at it and I will gladly apologize to the OP for my mistake. However, if I didn't, then why do you insult me?
I am not going to start a discussion with you (or a flame war). While it is true that I don't always know all the answers, at least I try to help or point people in the right direction to solve their problems. I do this because I love this community and its members and I have been helped countless times, so really it is my way of giving back.
@NATF,
Since the OP seems to have solved his issue, do you think that you could close this thread to keep it from growing needlessly? Thanks for your words
Issue resolved, closing thread.

"Delete" soft button in Pocket Outlook? I want "New"!

Ok, I've searched, and I can't find a thread about this specifically, so I'll ask (please move this if its in the wrong place).
I don't like Manila, so I have it switched off. When using the application for sending SMS (which I am assuming is pocket outlook?), there are two soft buttons onscreen. The Right hand one is "Menu". the left hand one is "Delete". Is there any way to change this "Delete" button to "New"? I have recently swapped over from an XDA 2i and this had a "New" button, which makes more sense to me than a delete button.
Assuming that there is no way to adjust this button, I would consider DOWNGRADING my pocket outlook to the one used on my XDA. What is the probability of that working out for me?
Apologies if this seems like a dumb question....
No-one? No response at all? That's three threads I've posted so far with no response to any of them.
Great.
Maybe no one knows an answer to ypur question or, othher possibility, the ones who might have an answer are busy. Have patience and chek your posts regularly.

no response. great
Yes. You waited 4 whole hours for me to reply to your comment telling me to be patient wait for a worthwhile response. If you think giving it 4 hours before complaining about a lack of response is a long time, I suggest you check the datetime on my first two posts. Thats two days between comments, coupled with the fact nobody responded to my other threads either.
But thanks for undermining the point, you little twit. I understand that people here are here to help, and they do it for free. But a simple "Can't be done mate" comment wouldn't take 10 seconds, and I'd have my answer, instead of your really really poor interpretation of sarcasm.
I'm told that its the lowest form of wit.
please stay polite, I was just kidding on my "great" post. Sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention
It would of been great to be able to customise any button on our mobile like Excel 2003, drag and drop, replace actions etc but perhaps in future devices.
For now, the only way is Menu/New, but as a business phone I can see why "delete" has more preference, and one being due to receiving too many grouped/news emails that are usually deleted instantly.
You can see another examply where "Reply All" has higher priority then reply itself.
Have you tried to search for any 3rd party applications to see if you are able to reassign, perhaps through registry?

Default WinMo keyboard gone on T-Mobile TouchPro2 with 6.5 download

I just installed Windows Mobile 6.5 onto my T-Mobile TouchPro2. Now, the old, default windows mobile on-screen keyboard is gone. I know I'm probably one of the last people in the world who still uses it, but I use it because it doesn't take up a lot of screen room and I use the stylus a lot anyway for a lot of my applications.
Does anyone know how to get this keyboard back? Is there a cab file somewhere of the default windows mobile 6.1 keyboard I can download? If it's not possible, does anyone know of another option for a keyboard that is meant to be used for the stylus and is relatively small?

google "tmobile touch pro 2 screen keyboard sip" search search search before u post
I did the search you suggested to dshersze --"tmobile touch pro 2 screen keyboard sip" and all that came up is this page. I can confirm that the standard windows mobile keyboard has been removed from T-Mobile's latest ROM, and I've done a good bit of searching online without finding a .CAB for that ol' standard keyboard, or a way to tweak T-Mobile's new WM 6.5 ROM to activate it. So dshersze's questions seems reasonable, and not deserving of a "search before u post" admonition. akademik_acheeba, if you know where there's a page that explains how to fix this issue, could you post a link to it?
Thanks, Alan
so after 2 mins of searching for an onscreen keyboard for TP2 or WVGA in general, these are your options:

p.s. what ROM are you using? is it the official TMo that came out today(not the leaked) or are you using one of the xda chefs? if it is from xda then this question belongs in that ROMs thread.
I am not missing my onscreen keyboard in the 6.5 TMOUS ROM, it is there as it has always been, maybe you shoudl reflash
I can confirm that the default WM Keyboard(the one that looks like a full keyboard and is really only suitable for stylus input or for people with microscopic fingers) is absent from the new 6.5 update (both leaked and official). To check this, pull up your SIP and enter the input options menu.
Here is what I use along with my options...
Thanks for the screenshots- they show that you do not have the SIP in question either. My guess is that someone decided that it wasn't a popular input method, however, I can see where this might be a preferred keyboard for stylus intensive input or for access to keys not found in most SIPs.
The T-Mobile 6.1 *Official* ROM called this SIP "Keyboard", and on the 6.5 *Official* ROM it has been replaced by "Transcriber" which on 6.1 was found under "Other Input Methods".
I wish people wouldn't be so eager to attack a legitimate posting without a clear understanding of what is being addressed. I think that most of us make a genuine attempt at searching for answers prior to creating a thread, but it seems like there are some that are just waiting to pounce without hesitation to accuse someone of not following forum rules. Give me a break, I know that not everyone here is an adult, but attacking someone with the insinuation that they did not do a proper search seems to have become far too common and does nothing to help anyone. Why not assume that a thorough search has already been attempted and rather than providing an admonishment and a slew of links (that I doubt had anything to do with the issue at hand) provide a reasonable explanation or solution along with those links? In my opinion, this is what these forums are for: a valuable resource of information and advice.

Score one for civility. We must remember that not everyone speaks English as a first language. In addition you can't search for something if you don't know the key words to look for. Everyone describes his/her issue differently. Just look at how akademik changed the terms he suggested when he posted his links. It seems that it would have been easier and better for the forum, if someone had simply posted a link to the solution. On another note, it is a great idea to use tags when creating new threads.

I agree with Treo, points for civility. Especially because the other guy who attacked the OP didn't even post any links relevant to what the OP was looking for. All I saw in those links were Finger Keyboards, and HTC keyboards.
OP wants the default WINMO 6.0/6.1 keyboard, with the tiny keys that, while only good for use with a stylus, is excellent for odd symbols. Like | for messing with the Manilla Weather editors.
Unfortunately I don't have information for the OP, as it seems likely that as many people have not liked that keyboard, support for it is all but gone.
The new keyboard function "Swype" has a pretty good symbol list to choose from.
Here's the thread for the TP2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597337
I guess I did have some info after all... I guess that's something.
as much as i help people on here via posts or pm's, no one knows how to use the search dropbox at the top or even google their issue to see if other wm sites have info on it. you heard about xda from tmo.com and now you come here for everyone to magically solve all your issues. all you people want is to point, click, download, install and be on your merry way...so stop being lazy, people here spend alot of time developing and perfecting things and if one lil issue goes wrong then yall complain. google what you want, and help others. as i see you guys posted here and not one of you have helped the issue but rather complained that i said search...oh well ill say it again...SEARCH
I like Swype, but anther decent SIP that I think is well worth trying is Finger Keyboard. One problem I have had is that some 3rd party SIPs will prevent my Rhodium from booting forcing hard-reset, but both Swype and Finger Keyboard work fine. One feature that I like in Finger Keyboard is the ability to assign text to a key such as an email address or password and it can switch between different languages without leaving the panel.
A way to bring back the default keyboard ...
Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4843610. It requires a registry hack, but it does work.
I'm not sure why no one likes a stylus anymore, but I prefer the precision that it buys me as well as the ability to draw on the screen. The old keyboard also has a CTRL key which allows me to cut and pasted from any application (even those without a press-and-hold context menu). I don't understand the desire to emulate the iPhone with capacitive touch screens but poor precision. If I wanted an iPhone, I would have bought one.

LOL! Spot on!
This is brilliant. You don't want to know how long I've been looking for a way to get the old keyboard back! Everyone seems to want keyboards that are bigger and can be used without a stylus - but I hate having the keyboard take over more than half my screen. This is an elegant solution! Thank you for posting it!
Edit - Rats! It says it can't initialize SIP CLSIDs for stylus status. Does the TP2 not have any way of telling whether the stylus is in or not? Grrr. So close, but I guess I have to keep on searching...

Looking for small Stylus friendly Keyboard
have an HTC Touch Diamond 2 with WM6.5. Since I have it I am not happy with the big keybord. Using the stylus very often, even with the big keyboard. But this takes so much space, even on my old Touch Cruise with QVGA I have more space thanks to the small keyboard.
How and where can i get a working CAB with the small keyboard from WM6.1 ?
Think it must be that in this picture.
