need to change "Outgoing mail" address by program

SKTools now has registry editing in SKscheMa, so I can change my wifi network cards IP addrees and config using a script. But I also need to change the Outgoing mail gateway address as I go from work to home.
Does anyone know of a way to do this as this info is not in the registry but in the email.vol.
many thanks for any help, cjb

Fix for "Unable to obtain server assigned IP address." problem

Alright dudes, thought I'd post this up as it seems to be the most optimal solution for fixing most instances of the "Unable to obtain server assigned IP address." and it doesn't seem to be widely publicised. I chose a new thread as there seems to be so many instances of this issue. Might be an idea to put this in a stickie, or the WiKi.
Change the "EnableDHCP" registry key to "0", its located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\RNDISFN1\Parms\TcpIp
Then do a soft-reset.
Basically, the problem is caused by the DHCP IP address assignment timing out, causing the connection to be sometimes dropped (even though an IP address may have originally been acquired without a problem) and hence the error message. Disabling DHCP forces the immediate assignment of the default IP address which doesn't timeout (this has already been detailed on this forum).
Note: This fix retains the internet pass-thru ability of ActiveSync, unlike the other reported solution of disabling "advance network functionality".
I hope this helps some of you out there with this issue.
Or if you dont want to do a registry hack when you can do this:
Settings wireless networks -> network adapters -> Remote-NDIS Host -> use specific IP address:
IP address: 169.254.2.1 <-use these addresses
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default GW: 169.254.2.2
Hit OK and that will do it.
ok, so what am I doing wrong?
I have checked my registry, and and value as in post 1 is 0
and I have set the IP address etc as in post 2 and I am still getting this stupid message.
What else can I try?
Any ideas?
thanks
Thanks man!!!
thank you very much....
Nice!
This is awesome. Frustin, I did it without the regedit and the error appears not to be returning. Just go to Settings, R-NDIS on your PPC and put in those numbers. I've been having this error for well over a year!
thanks!!!!!!
you're wonderfull!!!!

Click to collapse
I'm using WMDC (Vistax64) and I had same problem with my TouchDiamond.
I solve this after change registry value :
"EnableDHCP" registry key to "0", its located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\RNDISFN1\Parms\TcpIp
Then do a soft-reset.
Many thank's

Where are the DNS settings in the Reg

Hi all, some help if possible please.
I am creating a build for the Sedna which requires the APN connection to have a DNS server set. I add this IP address to the DNS settings and then extract the Reg but cannot find where it adds the IP address. No item in either decimal or hex can be found for the IP address I have entered.
What I want to do is then create a reg key with the DNS value and pop it into a CAB file.
Does anyone have any idea where WM6.1 keeps the DNS settings please?
Thanks

when you connect to the ap,there is a option.
settings wireless&networks wifi settings wifi networks
a little button appears when you hit the name of the network.
it s a option of the ipsetting ,
i am not sure whether you can find what i said, cause i am a chinese .
maybe there are something wrong with my words.
but,yes,you can set a static ip on a 500.
great!! thxx a lot, that was a hidden scroll menu in fact!
i gonna give it a try!
i see that menu before, but my router has opened dhcp.
so i never try to use it.
i guess it can work.
just have a try, good luck for you.

what are u supposed to put in the field bdtween gatwy and 1st dns?
i left it blank.
thx for ur help
rv
you need check your computer to find out the gate and dns .
everyone has a different dns, cause we have different isp.
Hi
the prob are not gtwy n dns, between these 2 fields there is another one, seems to be “network length“ dunno what to put in.
can u try pls?
thxx
sorry,i don t know ....
i never use static ip with a500.
on computer , it just need set the ip gateway dns ,there is no length....
you have to fill the dns1 ,dns2 is a backup.
i will do some search about the network prefix length ,just wait.
well,i search it.
if your gateway is 255.0.0.0 the length is 8
255.255.0.0 16
255.255.255.0 24
you can try.
Thxx firdt time i see that kind of field in an ipconf
thxx
hi,
thxx a lot,
works with 24 .
quite weird, why not simply ask for network mask as usual...
here are some info about prefix length
http://www.gadgetwiz.com/network/netmask.html
thxx folks!
well,i made a mistake.
it depends on the mask ,not gateway.
