Invoicing programs ? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi folks,
just wondering if anyone knows of any basic and FREE programs for invoicing on the Dopod. If not free is there any you would suggest ?

Here's one. Its pretty good IMO
http://www.lowfatsoftware.com/

Thanks, I did see that one when I did a google search and it looks fine but it's not free and there are cheaper. I was told by someone who said they used to use a free program though which is what I was hoping to find. They couldn't remember the name of it sadly. This isn't for me, a friend asked me who has a Dopod 838pro and I had suggested to them that they should use their WM phone. However after playing with theirs I have just bought myself an 838pro on ebay (still waiting for the postman lol) so I'll be lurking these forums alot in the very near future and most likely asking quite a few newbie questions.

here is a list of what i can find

Anybody,
Could someone let me know where i can buy an unlocked XDA from here in London. Also, can an XDA be used with any GPRS network? provided you have the correct software installed.
Thanks

thank you, i will have a look
i have recently (last month) bought 2 unlocked pdas from totalpda. the service etc is very good but be aware that the items are not new. they are refurbished models. my ones are fine, although you can tell they have been used. also you dont get the handsfree kit or the cd-rom that normally comes with it.
if you do get one from them, DO NOT do the OS upgrade suggested by o2 as this will greatly interfere with any other service providers settings. which is the problem i have now!
thank you kindly for that sound advice. it's definately made me think twice, especially the fact that they are not new.
Hi
Give these guys a call teleford telecom or something like that
01772 880880
gto mine from there about 3 weeks ago, £225 (32meg).
i think that the units are new, but come with charge cables instead of cradles.
get the impression that they have them in stock on a time to time basis.
worth a try though.
again thank you Mr R J Webb for the advice, i am so glad this XDA forum exits its a wealth of information. great idea by the developers. i will keep you posted on the results of my call to teleford telecom, thanks.
thank you, i called Preston Telecom (i think) they were very helpful, but as you said their stock has been deplenished. again they are not new but from the descrition they may as well be. thanks again for the advice.
Try ebay uk
Hi
I bought mine from ebay UK from a guy who has contract with upgrade with O2 but doesn't need the phone and it was new. I had to use the xda manipulator to unlock the phone for use with vodaphone which I am using. There are quite a few guys selling new xda sets for about £200 for the 32m version and £300 for the 64 mb version. I got mine for £290(in April 03) but it should be worth less now (maybe £250 to £300). You do not need to pay exorbitant price for a new one and you got to make sure the guy selling the phone is not a cheat. So far all my purchases with ebay UK is quite safe and you could use a escrow service (intermediate service for a small fee which holds your money until the goods is delivered in good order before paying the seller) for added precaution. There is also a company in ebay UK selling the new 64mb xda for £149 (previously £199 only 3/4weeks ago) with a contract with O2.
thanks for the advice i am familiar with ebay, its an ok market place, but tend to be secondhand. i think i am going to go for the option buying a new one with O2 and unlocking it myself, thanks anyway.

Where to get an XDA II in the US?

I currently have an XDA I (Siemens SX56 AT&T) and would like to get an XDA II (unlocked) as soon as they're sold by a reliable US source. FYI, I called AT&T Tech support and they said an unlocked phone should work great, just swap the SIM chip over from my XDA I.
It looked like Phone4Devs would be a good source, but they went out of business. The other sources (below) I've found are mostly overseas and pretty expensive.

I'm sure I'm like many of you who would like to pay less than the $850-1,000 + Unknown Custom Charges, that overseas sources are asking.
There are many versions of the HTC Himalaya phone out there (qTek 2020, O2 XDA II, i-mate XDA II). It looks like the i-mate and qTek are the best for the US. Any feedback?
Let's see if we can find a good supplier in the US !!!
Thanks.
www.expansys.us
Use this link for USA marketed iMate or O2 XDA II. Sales tax charged in Illinois only.
XDA II Prices before Shipping
Benshop - US$905
Compume - US$830
Club i-Mate - $850
4Cellular - US$990
Mobilefly - US$880
PPCW-net - US$846
Expansys.us - US$833
I converted to USD where necessary and all are BEFORE shipping. Compume (Australia) and Expansys (World-wide) seem interesting.
and how about eBay ???
has anyone considered that option to acquire a/m XDA II ???
regards,
monika
Ordered an iMat XDA2
Gave up on Expansys.us. Ordered a iMtae XDA2 unit from PPCW.net (Arne). On route, looking forward to it.
Still trying to sell my existing XDA1 though, pass the word

cshields1,
I understand what you mean because I am currently waiting on Expansys.us too. When you get your phone please let us know of your over all experience with PPCW.net and also how the warranty or technical support is handle for the phone. I understand Expansys.us will play the middle man if you have an issue with phone during your warranty period (which is good considering we are in the US).

Doesnt really say much hey!!!
mm Like lot of people I was expecting this price http://x.msmobiles.com/portal/images/o2/xda-exec-4-big.jpg ( £229 max ) and not £399 (I even have the catalogue in front of me it's not a fake.. and asked several without answer during the chat
Second things that I tried to get the price spec through o2.co.uk/xda has advertised ( redirection to http://www.my-xda.com/ ) and no trace of the exec and http://shop.o2.co.uk/cgi-bin/o2uk/j...set.do?pageMode=null&manufacturer=o2&x=13&y=2 doesn't have any trace of the exec too.
I participate to the chat ( and been logout during the chat by the flash application - irc would have been better for that but it worked otherwise so.. ) ;
The software should have a signature but could be installed if forced. I guess that orange UK will give the price of the same device before 3rd of October.
And TG has well played the game because he got a HTC for free lucky you
And why did you tell that USB HOST was working the 02 guy has by several times said that it wasn't active and didn't even know from where the rumor is from ...
Few questions has been asked without answer like the quality of the graphic card and such.
I think the XDA exec seems to be really good but was expecting it cheaper ( wasn't expected to have a £35-40/months contract for 12 months too ) I might wait december to get an upgraded pack or similar + cheaper (hope soo)

Vodafine VPA IV

Hi
Was searching around for info on this, but it no longer seems to exist. Nothing on vodafone.co.uk, and expansys appear to have discontinued it. Anyone know more?
http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code=125789
I am looking for an HTC exec on a data contract for reasonable money. O2 want over 600/month for 200MB!!
Nigel
If this is possible:
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=126421
Then I dont see why adding 200 quid for an HTC universal instead of the data card is not equally possible.
Nigel
I had a similar wait for the VPA to turn up but got bored and ended up going with T-Mobile web 'n' walk 400. Picked it up from http://www.buymobilephones.net/ with 400 minutes and 40MB for £55/month plus a decent initial cost and some months half-price line rental to boot.
Hi
I heard a rumour that the MDA does not have MSN messenger installed tho. This alone means that for me it aint worth considering? Can you confirm??
No 3G around here from T-Mob anyway so I am stuck with voda/O2

Jesus, why post it once when you can post it thrice!!
I kept getting an error when trying to post - did not know it had done it anyway dispite error!! Wont let me delete now...

No sign of VPA IV anywhere on vodafone business site. They have only one device VPA Mini (or whatever they call it).
Voda were never a big player in PDA phones. I get the impression from the expansys page posted above that they have just cancelled it.
Nigel
Pop into a Vodafone shop and ask to speak to the business accounts manager. The young lady in the Norwich Castle Mall store (Tamara) was very helpful and went out of her way to get me information. i.e. not just a quick call whilst I was waiting (which she did), but also coming back after a day or so to tell me what information she had gleaned when the first route offered no dates or prices. FWIW that date was 28th October and the price had not been decided then, but this was about a month or more ago.
