Hi, I bought one of these last year in december, but I'm tired of using vodafone spain rom and I'm trying to unlock the sim lock, Is there some rom or firmware that I can install, to remove the old rom and update it to an htc rom?????

Unbranding vodafone S300
Hi a4d2,
You just have to unlock it with SIM_CID_Unlock_V1.zip.
With it, you can also flash the ROM. After that, you can use any other SIM, from any other carrier than Vodafone, and also flash it with any other ROM, or Rom Upgrade.
I have tested it a few weeks ago, and now my vodafone S300 is working fine, with another carrier, and an upgraded ROM, as if it was buy as a free terminal.

I got Vodafone Device from Spain and flush with New ROM. Works fine with any GSM operators here in India.
SIM_CID_Unlock_V1.zip worked fine for mine, too.
My vodafone compact GPS was not locked. Using it with a O2/Alice SIM since day one after delivery and works perfect.
The branding is limited to the welcome screen and printed logo on the case. I have not yet found any other limitation.

I just bought a Touch Dual in Turkey. The WM iversion seems to be 6. the Turkish HTC website has no ROM update for the Dual but the Middle East site does have a 6.1 ROM update. Since I am in Turkey, should I upgrade to the Middle East 6.1 ROM? Will I lose something that way?

hello guys i bought my HTC magic since 3 weeks from malaysia loyat center ...any how the firmware was android 1.5....i went to the HTC website i upgrade my HTC ROM to ROM Version: 3.03.728.4 latest version available now...but what written on the rom is:-
ROM Upgrade with HTC Sense for HTC Magic (For Indonesia, Malaysia & Vietnam only)

you may unlock your htc at your country if it blocks your sim card

have u tried ur phone back there in ur home country ??does this rom have android market???.....mine is also malaysian version.I did'nt upgraded for the fear of it getting locked.

what makes me unshure is the "Vodafone" in the name, on the HTC website...

As the name says it is the ROM for the vodafone branded HD2, it is not a stock rom.
Please use next time the search function because it is approximately the 10th thread about this ROM.

i have a debraded unrooted htc legend vodafone spain, curentlly with the official stock htc rom 2.1 update1, and would like to rebrand it, downgradeing if neccesery, anyone know were can i find the stock android vodafone spain for the legend,
