Hi, i have been reading alot about the htc touch diamond which released few days ago. i have seen 1 on ebay and the guy who is selling it, has very honestly stated in the phone description that it doesn't have GPS antena so u need a external receiver to use it as a sat nav. is that true cos if it is then i definitely won't be buying it...
I dont know why this is in the Sony Xperia forum for a start...it should be in the Diamond part of the forum.
As for it not having a GPS in it??...of course it does...if his hasnt got one then its obviously not a Diamond is it??. Every Diamond has a built in GPS chip simple as that.
thnax 4 clearing this up
hi, Thanks for ur reply, don't know why that guy on ebay was saying it then, don't think anyone will be buying his touch diamond after reading that..

No problems, if your going to buy a Diamond then buy it from a place in the UK...wouldnt touch ebay for phones unless they are dirt cheap plus the ones on there at the moment are all grey imports ie not official uk spec models.
Tommorrow most online mobile places like mobilefun.co.uk, play.com, powerupmobile.com etc etc will all have proper uk stock so your better off and safer to buy one off them. Play.com are selling them at £430 with free delivery and mobilefun, where i just ordered one today are doing them for £435 with del included.
cheers for that
thanks i will definitely not be buying it from ebay. do u know if sat nav navigation software will be included in the box or you will have to buy that separately? i bet it will cost you over £500 including car charger and cradle and navigation software? i bought xda orbit 2 for £330 two months ago if i knew diamond was coming out i would have waited a bit now orbit 2 is gone cheap, so gota sell this n then get.......

All i know is that it has GPS integrated but no sat nav software unless you buy it from O2 or tmobile, who may bundle it in etc. Otherwise it probably wont come with any.

well i got mine from ebay (hong kong) from this guy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-HTC-Touch...oryZ3312QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
service was very good, got the phone in 2 days, much cheaper than UK sellers and have had no probs with it, + the guy gives you a 12 month warranty and some nice free gifts (including a car charger for me and second screen protector, nice) i would recommend this. who cares if its a grey import, your UK warranty counts for squat once you have edited the ROM etc lol so just get it cheap, that guy is good enjoy
Also you dont get sat nav software out of the box (unless you buy it form like T-Mobile or summin), you do get google maps tho (which i got), and that uses GPS, and is pretty cool

You've been trying to sell this for the last for months it seems - stick it in the m.e.n or the loot! Or stick it on ebay - asking the same things in different threads won't necessarily get you different answers....perhaps if you posted a price that you wanted rather than asking for offers. As I guide I sold a mint one on ebay last week for £300. The sooner you sell it, the more it'll sell for - the price of new technology goes down, not up, with age.

Mine is worth more than a refurb one because I have:
iPaq HX4700 (as new boxed) With WM5 installed
Original cradle, instructions, cables, disks and box etc
3 stylus including 1 with built in pen
Spare Battery 2000mAh x 2
Spare Battery 3600mAh x 1
External standalone charger for spare batteries
Additional power/sync cable
HP emergency charger (works off 9v battery)
Clip-on Thumbpad (part no 375265-001)
GPS - Rikaline X6 High Sensitivity CF Receiver (brand new still in box unused except for testing)
I agree , E-bay is crap ! I have just tried to sell my Exec and ended up in a tricky situation with a buyer with no feedback trying to get me to send to and unverified address - Paypal state that I'll only be covered by the seller protection policy if I send to a verified address , But I mailed e-bay about the matter and they suggested I go ahead and sell to the guy anyway ! talk about contradiction !
This is the third succesive time I have tried to sell an item on ebay and had the auction end with some idiot trying to rip me off
E-bay only seem to be interested in collecting their fee
Fortunately , I found a buyer oustside of ebay , and should I be looking to sell anything in the future , I'll be doing the same
Ebay just seems to be a big headache where higher value items are concerned these days :?

Hp's have *warranty* as well, and the 'refurb' classification is a generalisation, I have it on good authority the ebay items are brand new end of line with a full 2 yr warranty. They're even selling them from hp's www.ipaqchoice.co.uk site for £250! All the accesories are cheap too....
Richard
I can't help myself...
Ipaq choice are not cheap for accessories. If you purchase the accessories from Ipaq Choice you would pay £519.48 The following prices are cut and paste directly from the Ipaq Choice website
(they exclude VAT),
Screen Protectors Covertec £9.36
Battery 1,800 mAh (hx4700 series) HP £48.51
Extended Battery 3,600mAh (hx4700) HP £82.55
iPAQ 9-Volt Emergency Power Adapter HP-Belkin £8.51
USB Power Sync Travel Kit Belkin £29.78
Stylus 3-Pack Replacement Kit HP £11.91
Thumb Keyboard HP £27.23
SD Card (512MB) HP £62.12
GPS Receiver G-Space £110.63
HP iPAQ hx4700 Pocket PC HP £295.74
You are welcome to think that the HX4700 is nowhere near as good as a HTC Universal, however I personally think both PDAs have pros and cons. The biggest con for the HX4700 is the lack of built in phone and 3G (although it wasn't orginally purchased as that type of device). While the HTC Universal is relatively big and heavy, and as good as the screen is, it's still not as good or big as the HX4700. Not everyone wants their phone built in to a PDA.
I've made a choice that I need my phone built into my PDA, and I need 3G speed so I have a HTC Universal, however it took me many months to finally accept that I could not keep using 2 PDAs. I've lived with both devices for a long time and it's not as clear cut as "the HX4700 is nowhere near as good as a universal".

If we're going brand new, full price, then a Universal / jasjar is £644.95
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=119353
I didn't say the accesories were cheap from ipaqchoice, I said ipaqchoice sell the refurb units, and that the accesories were cheap - the batteries are on ebay.

I've still got them both, and I've also run the wm2005 update for the hx4700 ( did you? It's only just out - the official version I mean  )
and do not rate it in comparison for the Universal. There is a lag opening menus despite the fast processor, and the display on the ipaq doesn't compare with my toshiba e800 or the jasjar in VGA.
Richard
I obvioulsy misunderstood about your mention of cheap accessories
There are some good registry tweaks for getting the HX4700 running smoothly, they are different to the HTC Universal ones. In my opinion I got the HX4700 running faster. I use a USA ROM and yes I've only had it installed for 3 weeks but that was long enough to get to know the performance.
My wife has my old Toshiba e800 and again in my opinion the screen is not as good as the iPaq. I'm sorry if you don't like me having a different opinion to you.
I have already said how good I think the HTC Universal is - I already own one!
I respect your opinions and I also like other PDA's!
Be happy

I got mine from amazon.de. A really nice device!
I bought mine from egadgetdepot.com and I highly recommend them. They shipped out the same day and included an extra car charger, wall charger, and screen protector. They also pricematch.
I've got it )))))
www.tele-online.dk Just picked up mine today
From Euroset, one of the largest Russian retailers.
Now it's in a service center after the screen stopped responding to taps. Don't know whether Euroset sells crap or is it just bad luck.

That was my first HTC mobile.... I like it a lot.
Hello peeps,
I am SKINT. BROKE. POOR.
My mate is also giving me his Vario 2......Now I love my Ameo, the speed and everything is great BUT....I dont think I am rich enough to own one at the moment.....
I use the hard drive....but I have a 4 GB mem stick...
I used the GPS on my motorbike....once....Worked out I need a car.
I love watching movies on this, anything I download willl play on this baby
BUT I now dont use my PSP...
I spend too much time installing Crap and finding out I will never use it......
I dont know how much this is worth, it has small mark(tiny) on keyboard at bottom and small mark above the screen on the far right where the keyboard rubs.
apart from that, its mint.
I have everything from the box: (inc box)
Charger
headset
Case thing
Spare pen
Brown leather flip case.
Also in the err...case thing:
one of those 4 in 1 adapters with USB and Svid/composit out from expansys.
An Svid cable
512 mini SD card and adapter
Screen cleaner (nicked it from blackberry)
Its obviously still on WM 5.
Its running Mytrue VGA and works pretty flawlessly.
It has TOM TOM with UK maps.
Microdrive even has some PRON on it for lucky bidder.......
This is the second one I have had from T-mobile. It is about 7 weeks old.
(my mate dropped the other one and I had to do some quick talking )
Anyone want to make me an offer?
I live in London and work in the city, I have motorbike and I can get to most places pretty quick, like Microchip. I will be well willing to travel for some cash.
I would like cash for this beast but I would consider a reasonably specced laptop as a swap.....(as long as it works, condition of laptop is not an issue.)
Anyone>?
How much are you looking for for it ?, I am after one to replace my MDA Vario II and am a cash buyer, I am watching 5 ameo's on ebay at the moment !
Still awaiting your reply...
@Yarod_g14.
I PM'd you a couple of days ago...still no reply either way to date.
You still selling or is it already sold?
I dont need it now, bought one off ebay this morning, cost £450 for a brand new Ameo, I'm happy now !, time to pension off my vario II and XDA exec that it replaces
Interested in your Ameo
I am in Australia and would definately be interested in your unit for AU$500 + AU$50 postage.
Send me an email to the address I left in your private messages if you are interested in discussing further...

I can't find to understand why (here in Sweden) all the phone stores have such poor HTC Accessorie section. I go too Phonehouse wich is the biggest phone seller in Sweden and they dont even have a Handsfree for a HTC even thou they sell HTC phone such as Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch HD and so on. When I asked for a handsfree they had 1, and I wanted on with 3,5mm adapter and they recommended me to go online to HTC.com.
When i go online to webhallen.com wich is one of Stockholms largest online/store shop for electronics they have about 3 handsfree one crap one, one copy and a htc orginal music adapter handsfree!
When i then go for my next search, TV out cable i start looking on the net and (im not amazed) I find 2 online shops in all Sweden that has the cable (2!!) Ok, Sweden isnt a big country but comm'on . I can find tv out cables for LG Viewty and all other phones out there but not for HTC, INCREDIBLE!
Is this the same all around the world or is it just Sweden.
And dont get me started on screen protectors, thank god for Ebay.
It's just sweden.
Great...well, since my post was already taken (above) I'll go the serious route...
att stores here have poo poo cases, no screen protectors, no handsfree nuttin', no memory cards...and you know who I think I left something out...
Hows about Expansys?
http://www.expansys.se/
Expansys is very expensive comparatively. How about ebay?
Yes, I use ebay like I said. But I dont understand why the IRL stores dont sell HTC accesories.
I am really big fan of HTC HD2, but I still get tired with my old Omnia i900. Yesterday searching the Internet I found HD2 in very strange price - 567 PLN (about 185 USD). And my question is: should I try and buy this one or look for any more expensive? Should I trust this seller?
As device is 4yrs old that price is possible for old stock, I buy them around 90USD for 100% working clean examples with void stickers still present ...
Hm... I forgot to write it's completely new. So it is really, really strange.
I can buy new old stock for about same here in Thailand, seems about right to me. At HD2s age you get no HTC warranty & it is old hat hardware by today's standard, they need clear them & HD2 demand is not so high these days so prices have fallen.
So do you think I should buy this one?
No idea as not seen the retailers details, if has some form of buyer protection & return policy then might be worth it as buying used HD2's is only good if can be hands on with device prior to purchase as eBay etc are full of the sh1te used devices.
I sure would not want spend more on a new old stock 4yr old handset with known digitiser & bga failings.

i am wondering anybody is still using this device today
I have still 2 HTC HD2 at home.
At the one the screen is broken and in the other the mainboard seems to have a problem.
Actually i wanted to join them. But since i have a Moto G, the HD2 is nearly completly out of my Head.
But i had really nice 4 years with this device.
Do you really want to spend this much money on such a old device?
I don't know. I would really recommend you not to do that.
If you are a dev, then it is maybe ok, but as a simple user...?
I think the times are nearly over or not? But if your money is falling out of your pocket
As i said did not follow HD2 since 5 months. I would reccomend you to buy a Brand new Moto G.
Google converted middel class Hardware phones to low class price phones. Excellent!
looks like a used phone to me.
