Changing how I can type - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

The slide out keyboard on the Nike is a qwerty keyboard....now...i don't know if i am asking as stupid question but i got the phone only 2 days ago after owning a Elf for a while...
My question is...the on screen keyboard allows you to use the keypad on screen to type a msg. Over the years i have memorized the positions of letters on the keypad and can blindly sms. Is there anyway that i can use the slide out keyboard to type using the keypad...or is it restricted to using the qwerty keyboard?

you mean using the keypad like a t9 like the sip program called Phonepad ?

Predictive T9 On Orange (UK)

Hi, I am a new user to
A) this web site
and
B) this Phone. 5 days so far.....
I dont know if my topic heading is quite correct but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
This phone seems to have so many names, anyhow, mine is on Orange here in the UK and called a SPV M3100
Right, only thing that gets on my nerves a bit with this phone is there is no
T9 "predictive text input" like I am and have been used to with Nokia phones for the last 7 or so years.
What I mean is, you all know how you write a text message on a Nokia with predictive texting. using just your thumb etc.
What I am after is, is there some software / program I can download that would make the screen like a keypad within the send SMS program. so it is easier to text.
Because unless I am mssing something. The only way to text on the ORANGE version is either with the slide out keypad, or with the virtual keypad and stylus ???
Thank you for reading this and perhaps you can advice me.
To get T9 with a normal style phone looking interface you can install the PhonePad application which is available here on this site (its linked in the Hermes Wiki):
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/Phone Pad - English Only.CAB
You can also use the Block Recognizer, Onscreen Keyboard, Letter Recognizer, Symbol Pad and Transcriber as well as the slide out keyboard on a standard M3100.. In fact I think the options are the same as any Hermes?

Touch Keypad layout editing

Is there a way to edit the layout of Touch Keyboard and/or the Touch Keypad?
I'd like to add some letters, if the extra letters don't show up on the associated button, that won't bother me.
Did you get any answers for this? I would also like to change the layout. Is there a sym.txt to edit?
Not much activity....
Did any1 rip an install cab for the touch pad/keyboard?
Key Board
Any one no how to get the touch/touch cruise keyboard like the iphone keyboard? is there a setting for that? I would love to type using my thump... with the iphone keyboard layout.
I'm installing PocketCM Keyboard again, that works. HTC keyboard just sucks.

Xperia virtual T9 keyboard

Well, is not that I like T9, honestly
but someone asked in another forum
if is there a virtual num keyboard with T9
to call and text messages with one hand
and without sliding the keyboard out.
.
Sure, install the Touch HD keyboards - nice finger-friendly phone keypad with T9 on offer - I tend to use it for texting shorter messages (or one-handed). They're available here.
the vga version of phonepad also works flawless
If you don't like T9, you can try a better onscreen qwerty keyboard than the one supplied with WM. I installed resco keyboard and for quick texting like a sms I never open the keyboard any more, it lets you type with one hand and sufficient accuracy.

Is there a large qwerty style keypad for the Herald that can be used to type a msg without sliding out the keyboard or using a stylus?

[Q] Touch Input

Greetings!
Im new to Touch 2, here is a newbie question about Touch Input
How can i disable (registry tweak) the text predict input? Not really my type of those appearing text predict when using the Phone Keypad. I like the Phone Keypad though and I don't want to use any other Keyboard Apps..
Thanks
