How Do You Pull Phone Number From Windows CE - Ver 5.2?!?!?! - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I'm using a HTC Touch and I'm looking for some code on how to extract the MDN (mobile Device number) or MIN (mobile identification number) from the device.
Here are my specs;
- Device: HTC Touch
- OS: Windows CE - Ver 5.2
- Carrier: Alltel
PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Unfortunately I do not have the specific code, but I can point you in the general direction:
You need to use TAPI (Telephony API) functions.
They should give you all information available from the phone module.
Also please note that your OS (for MSDN references and such) is Windows Mobile 6 Professional not CE.
Though it is based on CE kernel v5.2 it is in fact different is several aspects from pure CE.

Asian Language Support

Am getting ready to start a couple of test development projects on my
Windows Mobile 5.0 device.
First question - is there support anywhere for additional language packs?
This is a WM5.0 ROM 1.6.7.1 WWE device (Qtek 9100 - HTC - Wizard).
Or does WM5 require regional versions to be installed for language support in that region?
Would also be greatful for a brief explanation of the WM5.0 lineage.
Is Windows Mobile 5.0 - really a Pocket PC Phone edition?
What flavor of Windows do Smart Phones use?
Does Windows CE still exist?
Any help or info greatly appreciated.
Hi, Waters.
Here are some brief answers in order, hope they help:
1. On WM systems installing support for other languages is tricky so if you don't have a device with local ROM you will have to pay for and install special software. One company I know that does a lot of localization is Paragon ( www.penreader.com )
2. WM5 – Windows Mobile 2005 the latest version of OS for PPC platform, preceded by WM 2003 (4.2, 4.21 second edition – VGA support) and WM 2002 (3.0) etc.
3. All WM versions come in both regular and phone edition, WM5 is no different. The phone edition simply has the extra support for phone integrated devices, like drivers, dialer programs, etc.
4. Smart phones use WM for smart phones which differs form the PPC version by its shell (no touch screen) and tougher security.
5. Win CE most definitely exists, in fact Windows Mobile 5 is a derivative of CE 5 designed for PPC devices. There are other devices like nav consoles for cars that use win CE in either pure or custom tailored form.
Good luck with your projects! 8)

Explanations needed regarding wm version numbering

I need some help to understand the way Microsoft is numbering Windows Mobile 6.1.
We usually see for WM6.1 numbers like for exemple OS 5.2.19971 B.19971.1.2.6.
5.2 seems to be some sort of internal and official version number for wm6.1 and 19971 to be the build number.
Then there is an obscur 1.2.6 (is it a sub-build number ?).
Moreover regarding the HyperDragon Roms each new version does not always follow a growing build number (from Oct. 22th the wm6.1 base build numbers were in the order 19581.1.1.1, 19212.1.0.3, 20757.1.4.0, 19974.1.2.8, 19974.1.2.8 and then now 19971.1.2.6
I understand the HyperDragon Rom depend of the initial phone extract (blackstone, jade, opal...) but how to choose the best one ?
Last question, I'm looking for the Windows Mobile 6.1.4 version because it is supposed to solve a big issue regarding the SMTP use in Pocket Outlook . But how to recognize a 6.1.4 version (base on a particular build or other usual numbering).
Thanks for your great help.

Problems with javascript

Hi!
Does anyone know what kinds of changes was made to WM or IE from version 6.1 to 6.5, that might interfere with javascript built sites? Any tips on how to even try and debug the problem when this particular site that's mostly javascript does not work the way its supposed to on the newer WM 6.5?
Im using two HTC phones, Touch Viva (Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional CE OS 5.2.19971 (Build 19971.1.2.6)) and Touch2 (Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional CE OS 5.2.21854 (Build 21854.5.0.80))
