Installing New Themes

Hello everyone,
I really love all the work that people have put on here it really exceeds some of the stock themes you get originally on the Diamonds and I would really love the ability to install some of these wonderful themes.
I have recently acquired an O2 XDA Ignito for those of you who don't know it is the HTC Touch Diamond from O2. I have tried installing themes on there, but it appears it is not fully customizing the look as it appears in the screenshots.
I was wandering if this is because that it is a branded device and rom so there maybe some limitation in that respect.
Can anyone be kind enough to verify this and possibly if there is any solution..

Where to find WM 6.5 hi-res icons? Would need them!!

Hello,
can somebody tell me where I can find all WM 6.5 icons in high resolution / for VGA?? would need them for a skin development project.

Try using search or google. They really do work. Searching xda-developers turns up some of the best icons ever.
Unless you are specifically looking for specific icons that come with winmo 6.5? In that case, I would reword your post so that is clear.

Reading his post might have helped you a bit. He's looking for 6.5 icons specificly, not just any old icons.

it seems that these icons were not extracted yet. If I would have the dll I could do it, but ... looking forward for the WM 6.5 shell icons ;-)

i have done quite a bit of searching both on here and on ppc geeks but I cant seem to find a version of this taskbar shown in the thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485548
If anyone knows where i can find that one, or other specific taskbars for TP2, please let me know. I have found generic ones from Raphael thread and others, but I am looking for info that they are compatible with NRG 6.5 roms.

Type in Spike's Task bar in google.

those are for 6.1, im looking for something that works with 6.5
i read through every page in the spike taskbar thread, it is not compatible with 6.5, there is a version that works with 6.5, but spike says only one particular ROM.

Help finding the right rom

Hey im sorry to bug the chefs and other members with this question, but i have found a rom that i really like. Only problem is that its for the Verizon Whitestone. It has the cool blue slider, the stock black and white tf3d icons, but it has the my location and weather clock, and it also uses the manila start menu instead of the joke that wm 6.5 uses. I am currently using josh's perfect black v 1.7 and it works great, but i want something a little faster and more stable... if someone knows how to get a rom to do all these things or can cook one like this then that would be amazing =]

Most ROM's have screenshots in the thread. This will probably be closed soon.
Just check out the ROM Threads to get what you need

thats the problem... i check them almost everyday and there is nothing here that is like it =[

You'll just have to keep looking, or ask a chef if they would make a ROM with your preferences. Failing that, get a kitchen and give it a go
Or try and find CABs to change another ROM to match, I think most colours can be changed with CABs, and I'm pretty sure the start menu can too.

thanks that helps alot... if u dont mind me asking for a huge favor, i honestly dont know where to find a cab to change the slider or the icons for sense ui

You can also search the Topaz or Blackstone themes section. They almost share the same customizations..

PLEASE help! I'm at my wit's end!

So I found out I've been posting in the European HD2 forums, so now that I'm in the right place, I've been wanting to change the appearance of my taskbar on my HD2.
Ideally, I would like to have my start menu button resemble that of the Start Menu button on Windows Vista / 7, and I would like to be able to edit the other icons on the taskbar as well. I have no idea how to make this happen, I've gotten a few ideas but it all seems overly complicated, like editing .DLLs and things like that.
I'm willing to take that plunge, I just need someone that's willing to help out. I'm seeing all kinds of uploaded screenshots of the HD2 with the taskbar laid out virtually how I want it, but I just don't know how to do it!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Flash a rom that looks the closest to what you want would be my advice.

Just install a theme.

Honestly, you will probably have better luck posting in the euro hd2 section.... there's more people there and it's the same phone. I find more knowledgeable people there, plus the hd2 apps section is there. You're probably gonna do best just finding a skin you like... there's tons out there to change the icons many different ways. Search the hd2 apps section and the windows mobile themes and apps sections.

What you're looking for is a taskbar icon set... they're often included in custom ROM's and themes, but you don't have to go through all that to get one as almost every taskbar set thats found in one of those is also available as a stand-alone cab. In addition to the HD2 themes section, be sure to search through the main WM Themes section at xda to find other options too.
I don't know exactly which ones you've seen that you liked, but here's some of the most commonly-used ones on the HD2:
Dinik's Anastasia taskbar
Dafunk2's NGTV taskbar
Brian's taskbar, gfreek edition
Phoenix's B&W taskbar
