I just received my Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headphone BH-503 and thought I would share my experience with you all.
Since this is my 4th bluetooth stereo headset I wanted to make sure this headset would sound better and had no connection breakdowns. I hate the clipping and stutter during what supposed to be a happy music moment. So I read allot of reviews of allot of headsets and this one caught my attention. I bought this headset online from www.one2remember.nl and it costs 90 euro's. (in Holland)

It comes with a charger (off course), a manual in 20 languages or so and a handy transport bag. The overall first impression is good. Feels solid compared to the jabra bt620s or the moto ht820.
One of the top things about this headset is that it almost completely covers the ears. As I ride my bike alto in Holland and we have windy weather most of the time I found this headset to isolate you completely from you surrounding. Also the weight of the headset does not trouble me. At first you feel a bit of pressure on your ears but after 5 minutes the only thing reminds you of wearing a headset is the music you will be hearing.
During my test drive I got a call from a friend and to my surprise he actually understood me. As there was wind I didn’t need to stop for him to be able to hear me which is a big fat PLUS!
Another plus point is the charging time. It is full within one hour. And it should last for about 10 hours. (haven’t tested yet as I have it only 3 hours)
The buttons of the headset are completely flat and if you don’t know which button is which it is hard to press the right one. But I guess you just have to get used to it. But this also is a plus since you aren’t most likely to accidental press a button.
Sound quality is great. There is allot of bass to it and the distortion I experienced with other headsets is gone.
Also the bluetooth range is exceptional. The manual says it is able the transfer the music up to 10m but within a 5m range it’s best but when I go outside the 5m range music is good up to 9m. Further than 9m music is going to stutter.
Overall conclusion; It is not the cheapest headset but man I love it!!
Nice review! Though i think a button should not be flat, if you should not press it accidentally it should be hard to push that button .
You are talking about that this is your 4th headset, which are the other 3? It makes a nice comparison.
I hate it when I wear it around my neck (not listening to music) and the collar of my jacket keeps pressing the dial button. So that's why I don't mind having flat buttons.
I've had the motorola ht820, jabra bt620s and the plantronics pulsar 590E.
None of them sounded as clear and loud as the nokia.
I've been using it for the last 1,5 week and it is still the best I've had.
Just lovin it
cool was thinking about getting that one
Hi,
I am thinking of getting BH-503, but nowhere I can find its sensitivity ... is it loud enough?
Thnx
Problem with mic in using HTC Desire with BH 503
I have just purchased BH 503. The problem i faced it that it connects with Phone and Media profiles well. but It seems that Mic is not working. As when I pair the device it shows headset only and not Mic.
Does anybody faced this issue?
Appreciate your kind help in this regard.

Does anyone know of a way to make the phone keep vibrating after a missed call till a button is pressed or something? This would be handy so if i miss a call on my motor bike, I don't have to always look for the flashing led or the screen.
Thanx
I don't know about making it vibrate, but I just use these on my motorbike:

Its a bluetooth clip that supports A2DP for music, and handsfree for calls, and has a standard 3.5mm jack for any set of earbuds (or home stereo, or whatever). The clip houses the controls and the mic for taking a call.
so, what I've done is embedded speakers into my helmet (taken from cheapo headphones with a snapped over-the-head band), and I plug them into this which clips onto my jacket/shirt.
Then, I can take calls by pressing the button on my jacket, and also control music streaming from my phone at the same time, all while riding around on the bike.
Works great, but the people can hardly hear me over the wind unless I pull over first!
spb phone suite has an option for that, if you dont mind spending the 20 bucks (it has lots of other useful features)
i recently bought the motorola S9 BT headset and use it exactly for this purpose. It sounds awesome, especially when i change the rubber ear pieces so they fit better in my ear! The controls are easy to access and it works *****en with my mogul/titan phone. Now i can listen to all the music i've been missing out on for the last couple of years (while on my way to work). Now if i could only find a way to listen to FM radio!

my phone wont vibrate while on vibrate? I havent killed the Led either.
any suggestions?
Phonealarm does this as well as a ton of other stuff.
So I can not stand the giant stock adapter that comes with the fuze and how you have to plug that in and then plug a wired headset to it to listen to music. I use little ipod headphones that go directly into my ears and sound great, but I am stuck using the giant adapter that came with the phone since the headset does not plug directly into the Fuze.
So I have a few questions.
1) does anyone have a headset recommendation for the fuze that plugs directly into the phone
2) see the 3 options shown at the bottom of this page -
Code:
http://stores.ebay.com/One-Stop-Cell-Shop_HTC_Fuze-Touch-Pro-at-t-gsm_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ562650016QQftidZ2QQtZkm
they all plug directly into the fuze with no need for the giant middle adapter I have been using that came with the phone. do you think any of those will work. Or do you have any recommendations.
Thanks for your recommendations and feedback.
TV,
We keep shopping at the same places. I bought the mini-usb stereo headset at the same time I purchased my pink rubberized case (the same as the one that you had to shave down).
It works like a charm!

Hello and thanks for the info. Do you have a link to the one you bought? Thanks!
ebay store: One Stop Cell Shop
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-STEREO-HEAD...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
thanks for the link - how do those feel in your ears. They look different then the traditional ipod headphones. Are they comfortable?
They feel fine. I don't wear them all day nor do I run while wearing them (I only run if someone is chasing me) so I suppose it's all relative. They don't fall out constantly like some nor do they feel like they are about to fall out.
The sound is as good as the OEM's from my past devices. The FM radio comes through as clear and sharp as it does with any traditional radio. No volume control on the wire, only an answer button, but I don't seem to miss it as the Fuze is after all at the other end of the wire, lol.
Like you, I didn't want to need the adapter so I found these right away. There may be others (better) out there now since the device isn't as new. FWIW, I have no idea what an ipod headset looks like.
HTH.
sorry about that - standard ipod headphones look like this -

i like the ones you suggested and for $12 they look fine to me.
Do you get sounds (phone calls AND MP3s) in both ears? My old HTC Wizard had sound in both ears, but when I use that old pair with the huge FUZE/Raphael block adapter, I only get sound in 1 ear for MP3s *or* in phone calls. I realize the phone call isn't stereo, but I like mono in both ears while on the phone.
The one I just purchased says that the phone and music work in stereo.
I purchased this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-STEREO-HEAD...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
paid last night and before morning I received notification that they were shipped.
100% stereo sound
They are 100% stereo. Everything I have on my device comes through in both ears...FM radio, phone calls, media player, videos and dvds, notifications and reminders.
Everything works as it should as well when a call comes in, they switch to the call and back to the music when the call is over.
Yes, mine shipped very quickly also.
Highly recommend.

What's the best bluetooth stereo headset for the gym/working out...? I want something that is a very minimal design, nothing that's is padded, etc..
Thanks
S9 HD
I have Motorola S9 HD and I love the sound quality.
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluetooth-stereo-headphones-buy.php
i'm interested in these, i've read they're supposed to be very good for gym/working out (stand up against sweat) but i've been trying to find an unbiased review on them without shelling out 130$
nexus one being newer also, its not showing on the compatibility list, but i assume it would have no problem with these or vice versa
I have a sony-ericsson hbh-ds220 which has served me well for a number of years - I liked it coz it has a 3.5mm socket so you can use your own headphones.
the power button just started playing up, probably got too much sweat in there and its corroded now so I am on the lookout for something else with a socket and suitable for the gym.
Best Bluetooth headphones for music and the gym
The best solution to listen to music wirelessly but stay connected to your phone is here: mi-sport.net
You can put 4gb worth of music directly onto the headphones, get voice cues to guide you through playlists and albums, but still stay linked to your phone for calls. It`s also fully waterproof for the gym - or swimming. For me, this is far better.
I have the LG HBS-250 headphone. It does the job in the gym. Good clarity music and good for taking calls occasionally. One thing I hate is mute function. It keeps on beeping when on mute. But for 35 bucks I can't ask for more.

It's compact and it comes with an FM radio. And it has a 3.5mm jack so you can use any of headphones you like. Battery life is excellent and the OLED screen tells you the caller ID (phone numbers only though). It can be paired with 2 devices simultaneously. So if you pair with it with a gaming device, say a PSP, and there is an incoming phone call, it automatically switches to the phone so you can answer the call with one click of a button.

Is there any audio fidelity lost when using this bluetooth adapter? I mean compared to having the headphones connected directly to the phone.
I'm not an audiophile but I know that all bluetooth headsets lose audio fidelity more or less. IMO and also according to the reviews, the MW600 loses very little and the loss is very unnoticeable.
Anyone know of a microphone that I could just plug into the audio port and leave there or anything? Does it support audio input through the mic jack?
The recorded audio on the Iconia is completely awful and useless.
Where's the mic jack? All I have ever seen is the headphone jack, USB, HDMI and charging ports.
Yes it does support audio input through the headphone jack. The internal mic is so bad it's practically impossible to do a video chat. I used a psp headset I had lying around, works like a charm for gchat/skype.

Really? I tried plugging in a standard headset that works on my Acer laptop and it certainly cut off the internal mic but sadly no sound from the headset mic.

The 4 section headset comes standard with most of today's smartphones.
I have tried the headset that came with the Iphone 3GS and the Blackberry and they both worked on the A500 for making calls over Skype. The sound quality from the Blackberry headset was much better that the one from Apple.
But, I did notice that the internal mic produced better results when using the recorder function.
Probably need to adjust the mic level on the external headset, but I could not find the setting to adjust this. When pressing the volume button on the A500, a set of slider bars would appear - sometimes there would be a setting for the mic, but more often this would be missing.
Can someone shed some light on how to get the mic slider bar to show up. Thanks.
Dug out the headset that came with my Nexus One and it worked! Couldn't see a volume control for the mic though, just the three standard ones.

Almost all headset with mic will work on A500, just ebay it
can anyone else confirm the iphone headset works?
the mic on my iphone headset doesn't work at all in the A500. it works in the iphone so i know its not faulty.
i then tried an "urban ears" set and the mic works perfectly so i know its not my A500.
Ive just accidentally broken the headsets that came with the phone, and now Im looking for another headset.
The problem with our phone is that the pinout (the mic and ground pins) is inverted in comparison to samsung, LG, HTC etc ). Therefore, we cant buy just about any headset. Also, I want a wired headset (not a wireless one).
Is anyone using a wired headset in which the button works? I want to be able to take and drop calls, and long press to skip track (which would work if taking and dropping calls works).
Yes, I'm using Jabra Chill headset (got it new for 10€), the pins on the jack are the same as original Huawei headset. Also I'm using Headset Button app, that can emulate multi button headset, so I can skip tracks, forward/reverse songs, etc.
Thanks for the info. Just needed to know one more thing. Does the mic work as well? Can you use the button to receive calls? Also, do you have a u8800 or one of the variants? Is there any difference in the pinout for the u8800 and the variants?
Mine phone is U8800, my brother has U8800 pro. Both phones have same pinout. The microphone and the button is also working. If you are using the Aurora rom, you should also tick "use headset microphone" in sound settings.
Do you know a headset like the one you pointed but in-ear?
Those are better at isolating the ambient sound.
Ive ordered one. Lets hope it works out when it is delivered. Thanks for the help Schrauff.

I haven't tried them out, but they have 4-pin 3,5mm jack and mic+button.
I'm also found the a-JAYS One+ which is a great looking headsets with a flat tangle-free cable and has a mic+button.

Anyone tried one and can confirm that the button works?
Just got the Sony Ericsson MH-650. In ear, perfect noise isolation and the button works quite well. Awesome sound quality as well. Thumping bass and crystal clear trebles
Totally recommended for everyone. At Rs. 1500 (do your conversions, I'm too lazy), theyre really nice.
Just bought a Novero Brooklyn Wired Stereo Headset with Mic http://www.novero.com/collections/music-headsets/brooklyn.html but it turns out that it's not compatibly.
I listen only one channel on both phones and when I click the button I listen regular stereo.
They seem to be great headphones, but not compatible with our 8800.

Apparently our phone has Sony Ericsson Xperia compatible pinouts, not iPhone compatible.
