I suffered a broken LCD on my HTC Touch Cruise and ordered a replacement TFT on eBay.
Well now the replacement LCD just arrived but with no instructions on how to open the phone.
Are there instructions available somewhere on the web or would you recommend that I let a professional technician handle this?
Just noticed the the instructions in the thread below.
Silly me. Sorry about that.

i've got a lcd/digitizer assembly that i ordered to a repair a cracked screen in my 8525. it ended up taking so long to arrive from china that i just sent it to HTC to repair. don't need it now, so maybe someone else can use it. it's an OEM part: Part Number: 60H00037 / Toppoly TD028STEB1.
all the info & pictures are listed in the ebay item details.

Hey guys,
I've been looking for a steal to leave my Palm Treo Pro behind. Since repaired several of my phones in the past I picked up a T-Mobile HD2 on eBay with a cracked Digitizer (but LCD working fine) for $260. I haven't received it yet, but I'm seeing from the disassembly videos and all the posts that the digitizer is glued to the LCD somehow but a few have made vague references to successfully getting these apart. Would someone please post a step-by-step to not only separating the Digitizer but how to properly reattach the LCD to a new digitizer?
- Some people have made references to using a razor or nylon string, but no pictures or detailed instructions.
- No one has explained how to properly attach/glue the new components together.
- Some have mentioned soldering being required but no definitive answers.
** The connector on the digitizer of the T-Mobile version is different from the international version. Someone mentioned in a post that no soldering was required on the T-Mobile version. Can anyone confirm?
If this cannot be done properly, can anyone provide a link to buying the digitizer and lcd already together FOR THE T-MOBILE version?
Hi,
I just dropped my EU HD2 and the glass has cracked and theres a hole in the corner, although the LCD screen is fine and the touch works perfectly.
Could someone advise me where to get a replacement and whether I have to get the whole digitizer part?
Are the ones on ebay ok? I saw a few that were between £10-£20 and wondering whether they are the genuine ones from HTC or fakes...
I also heard there are two types of digitizers, one that needs soldering and one that just clips in...which one is the right one?
Appreciate the help
Hi Mods
Could you move this thread over to the HD2 General section?
Everyone else:
49 views and no one knows the answer to this??
Mine broke, and i sent to the SAT, sadly they broke my motherboard replacing the glass and made a swap.... so i wouldn't dare to change it myself...
Whats the SAT? I can repair this myself, I just need to know which digitizer I need.
Ok ill try and answer your questions.
First,, your EU Leo needs to be un/soldered to motherboard. As far as I know only TMOUS has the clip lcd.
Second, well £20 isn't going to get you a OEM screen, not a new one anyway. Shop around, compare price/products, maybe get the £20 one and try it out could be as good as the OEM one?.
PS. Writing this from my eu leo with a 1/4 of the screen cracked ;bummer; and the thing is it cost me ££75 to get it fixed the first time around.

Soldering is only involved in replacing the digitizer. In most cases you can replace the LCD with the digitizer attached so you just need to remove the ribbon cable and replace the LCD and digitizer kit. Cheapest I found that is genuine is 50 quid.
In any case, I'm using this opportunity to get a DHD
Hi all, i have a question
So my hd2 fell and the screen broke, the lcd is still working and so was the digitizer but it stopped a couple of weeks ago.
Now i have the money and i'll buy a new digitizer.
My question is will the glass for the t-mobile version fit my european (or is it international) hd2?
I don't want to buy it just to find out it doesn't fit or something
Thanks in advance.
I read somewhere that Internation hd2 use lcd and digitizer combo that has to be soldered together but mine is click-on.
Is that the same one t-mobile version is using?
On the back of the lcd is says P/N: 60H00300-00P
EDIT: It looks just like this one.

There s a little bit size difference between the EU HD2 and TmoUS HD2....
It may fit, but u might face compatibility problems
Recommended that you buy the digitizer meant for EU HD2 from ebay Global easybuy
So as to be sure
Post #4 - Not all good advise ...
No size difference between lcd & digitizer on any model of HD2.
Main difference if replacing just the digitizer is fact one type is a solder connector & one a plug connector.
T-Mobile USA version was plug only connector.
EU version can be both depending on early or late manufacture or if been in for repair already it may of been changed to later version .
If have original SPL you can view the type via bootloader. If unsure wise to look first before ordering ...

you will need a heat gun to separate the two, then you will have to scrap all the double tape off and re-install new to keep the two and the housing together very easy to repair and very easy to break, Hint of advise, I would take the phone to a qualify repair shop for fix.
I cracked by G2's screen. Should I order new parts and repair it or get an HTC One (M7)?
Thanks
UPDATE: bought a One (M7)
Repair it, its only about $120 for a new screen, there are dozens of YouTube tutorials and its fun
