Hello,
My Orbit2 microphone volume is too low. It's not easy for people on the other end to hear me, when I'm not want to scream into the mic.
Is there any tweak or adjustment just for the microphone?
I have the original ROM insatalled on my Orbit2, no update.
The HTC Equalizer does not bring any improvement!
No improvement with "Microphone AGC" On or OFF!
I changed the mic-position on my mouth during i speak. No solution!
The Registry entries, which was discussed in other threats are not in mine.
Writing these entries bring no solution too!
I speak from: hkey_local_machine/software/htc/audiogain (and audiogain 0 and 1 and 2) and der Entries.
When I speak by headset i don't have this Problems.
Can anybody help me to find a solution?
Thank you in advance
Orgshooter
you can adjust the mic and AGC using the ipaq_audio.exe
Although it was made for ipaq's, it seems to be compatible with HTC devices.

Has anyone found a hack to increase the speaker volume when holding the JAM to your ear. My hearing is not good at all...remember when mom used to say "turn that music down, you'll go deaf" turns out the old girl was right.
The volume on the JAM seems even lower to me since doing the latest ROM update. There must be a registry setting to increase the volume. I've not seen anything that jumps out, but I'm willing to bet that there is a way.

low earpiece volume
hi paragon,
I fully support your criticism about the poor audio level at max setting. There must be sufficient potential in increasing the audio level since there is the loudspeaker function available.
Now 2 people are waiting desperately for a solution by a honourable specialist which allows for an icrease of the basic volume setting.

Well, the speakerphone on this thing isn't actually isn't any louder than the regular earpiece!
did anyone find a solution to this one?? I hope it's not the old change the rom to 1.12? I'm happy so far with 1.06 apart from the low front speaker volume.
Phil
i'm using 1.12 and i struggle to hear ppl as well. i ran by this app earlier today on i forgot which site that says its the ultimate hack tool. i'll browse through my histor and see if i find it and figure out if it can increase the volume.
Unfortunately it's generally considered that it's not possible to activate speakerphone programmatically, which will mean that automatically switching to speakerphone isn't going to help too much.
I tried setting up a profile to turn the volume down to a reasonable level, and then activate speakerphone and use that as the earpiece. That way the screen doesn't get sweaty and you've got better sound straight to the ear. However, some people on the other end of the line say the recieved sound isn't so great. I don't see why it should be any worse. Play around with AGC in the settings panel. Anyone else care to report on this idea?

i found the app, its tweaks2k2net unfortunately nothing with earpiece volume... and about the using the speakerphone instead, i've had ppl complain that they cant hear my clearly as well.. is the mic also bad on this phone?
I am having a hard time understanding people when using the phone of my s200. Even my bluetooth headset (HS850) is louder then the phone itself (and this headset is not relly all that loud either).
So, I am wondering if there is a way to increase the volume at all?
I am having the same problem, I have tried the volume boost tweak in the forums but had no luck. today I listened to the Qtek 9100 quality and it was far superioir, and what I would expect from a mobile phone.
I am taking my S200 to the service center tommorow and complain.
Qtek 9100 also has stereo speakers the Prophet does not, I agree that the speaker output on the Prophet leaves a lot to be desired.
looks like that there is a hack for this:

Let's not forget one of the most important registry hacks(taken from the wizard forum): volume fix.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN
there are various settings here, the most important is the earphone_uplink_volume that alows finally to hear clearly during a call
If anyone could clear out what the other setting are for, I'd be gratefull.
And why is there three different audiogain keys?

Craic Dub
I could not get it to work as a lot of people
I am now on my second prophet (Qtek S200) and the phone quality is still very poor. I think I am going to have to swap it for a Qtek 9100 so that I can hear the person on the other end of the phone.
Its not just that the volume is low in the earpiece, the actual sound quality is bad, it almost sounds like the earpeice speaker cannot handle the sound input.
i have this problem too and i try change a earpiece from a nokia 6630 that is the same and the result is not good the sound in 6630 is good and the same earpiece in s200 is very low, what i can do to improve?
There was an article
about changing Prophets poor speaker with the motorola cell phone speaker ,that is very close in dimensions but much more durable and louder...
You may google it.
HTC Audio Booster
Found this on the site somewhere, don't know if it will help
i am facing a prob with the mic of atom. when i am tlking in speakerphone mode the other person can hear me clearly but when using the handset mode the other person is not able to hear me. plz suggest a reg tweak or a utility as there is no mic gain control in atom.
This is the thread on tweaks. What you are looking for is the audio gain tweak. Be warned! it eats battery

thnx victoradjei. but cud u be more specific
do i have to increase the value of MicGain string in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev? or r u referring to some other tweak.
That is it, if you dont't mind battery drain (IMHO)
I have the same problem, when I used headset ,others can't hear me ?Does it work if I modified the micgain 's value ? and tell me the value you change to .thx!
same problem.
Seems that microphone is working in real. No problem with voice rec and speakers are opn while talking but non-working in earpiece speaking.
these registry have not worked yet.
hello everyone,
i FINALLY got my bt headset working and now im able to listen to mp3 in stereo quality
but the quality is a really big disappointment! During the playback there is some kind of a noise in the background, its hard to describe how it sounds, but its aweful certainly and makes the listening to music painful! it only happens in certain sound frequencys, especially those where there is a human voice.
I have no problem with bass, or instrumentals only. The hardware buttons for forward / back and so on works fine, there is some stuttering from time to time, i can bear that. But that background noise is unbearable.
What might be the problem? did I forget to install some protocol? Or does the motorola just suck? (hardware problem?)
I would be glad if someone can come up with an answer!
ok,
let me clarify about the noise: its a high frequent sharp sound, just ANNOYING!
Dumb question : you have checked the audio files are otherwise good ? It sounds similar to a 'cooked' mp3 file.
hey, i did check the audio files, and they are fine!
I just found out that it is a common problem having the high pitch noise while listening to mp3 via bluetooth.
After reading this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=968791#post968791
I tried out the registry hacks and it DID NOT help! Whenever I tried to add the key:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool
(Dword: 60)(Default is 30)
it just automatically disappeared after a softreset, the key isnt there by default.
Im using the lvsw aku 2.3.1 rom.
What can I do? Please HELP!
ps, i found out if i turn down the treble, it reduces the high pitches. but that cant be the real deal! it must be some other way!?
update:
i have installed the aku33_a2dp.cab provided by "joe_dude" and change the registry values like usejointstereo=0
but nothing works, still got this annoying high pitch noise...
Hi savant,
I am using the ht820 with a imate jamin, and have no problem at all. i followed the procedure laid out in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263745.
Make sure that you read the complete thread as there is a cab file that edits the registry for you. I tried it and mine worked flawlessly the first time. I am using pocketmusic as my mp3 player.
hello cvrbit!
thank you for replying, the link you gave me is about the installation of a2dp protocoll on the prophet, which I already did.
I have double checked my registry and all the necessary keys are there. I even use a newer a2dp protocoll from the acu 3.3
I searched everywhere on google and in this forum it seems there is no real solution to that.
It does seem that some HT820 user have no high pitch noise issue and some do, I dont know why.
Beside the SRS WOWHD cab, does anybody know about a registry trick to increase Volume..
Thank you all in advanced.
same problem
volume?
I have opposite problem, when I have my volume up very much, everyone in room can hear conversation. It must be something really strange? I hear more people complain too loud?
To Loud!
Hey,
My HD2 has been to loud since I purchased it. I have done misc tweaks to it, flashed to latest, and the volume always bothers me. What I mean is, even on the lowest possible volume level when I am on the phone I have to remove it from my ear because it is way too loud. Is there a way to fix this problem? I have yet to do any regedit on it so if there is a way to change volume setting in the registry how do I do that the best way.. is there a nice regedit for the HD2 perhaps? I am sure I can find one in this Forum but hey any tip would save me time
Thanks for a great site/forum!!
