I have looked everywhere and I have even loaded several different sdhc cab files on the phone and I still can't read a 4gb microsd. I really need the extra space. I loaded the HTC WM6 and I still cannot get the 4gb card to read. Please help. Maybe I am loading the cab files in the wrong place? I don't know. Please help.

I read somewhere ,but cant remember in what forum, about somebody who couldnt get a 4gb card to be seen by his device and he looked in his old card and found a hidden folder called something like filestobedeleted anyway he found that when he created this folder on his 4gb card the device saw it fine.
Not sure if this will help you any but it is worth a try
Make sure you format it as fat in a card reader as well

It may depend which version of WM6 you have. As I understand things, some support SDHC some don't. My 6Gb card works fine with Schaps 4 roms, but I formatted it as FAT32, not FAT as scousemartin suggested (don't know if this makes a difference though).
Have a read through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=331463 - there are a few tips, and also post #41 has a cab file which says it fixes the SDHC issue.

I want to know about SDHC not the regular minisd cards.

I can not speak for the 4gb SDHC cards but I used a 4gb standard miniSD card in my 6945 no problems.

none of the stores here sell regular 4gb. all of them have SDHC. that's why i need to know before buy one

Hi everyone,
I finally bought a kingston 4gb miniSDHC and tried it on on own ipaq 6955 ( rogers branded ).
1- without the driver the card is unrecognized
2 - after installing the driver, it fully detect the card and showed 3.9gb avaialable space and it worked really fast .
3 - after a while I noticed that my programs which installed on the card in not working ( it worked at the begining ) .
4 - everytime I took the card out and insert it again, the problem was solved for few hours and again it came back
5 - the reason was it browse the card and show the folders but when I tried to see the files in the folders, it showed all the folders empty!!!!!
6 - I fromated the disk bye fat, partitioned it and steel the same,
7 - last thing I did today is that I format 2 partitions using FAT instead of FAT32.
it workes fine now, but i'll give u and update soon .
I still dont know if it is the card problem or driver problem, because i dont have any other cards ( 4gb minisdhc ) to try .
wait for more updates
I changed my card with different card ( same brand ) 4gb kingston minisdhc and still the same problem .
any sugestions ?

did you try formt with this software?

the panasonic utility say it won't compateble with either card or my reader!

AS far as using the software (told you i'm using 2g ultra)
but i was thinkin of one more thing due to your report
power Management
i found the reg value on the 6800 ,i know it is not the same location but it is a start
try to see if you can get it for a better Management settings for the card

which driver did you use?
I remember reading that the 4Gb miniSD cards are unreliable in the 69xx...
there IS a list of what does and doesn't work, I think it was a HP based forum, a bit of googling should bring it up...
As far as i remember reading, the SDHC cards arent supporting in the 69xx
Ive not tried one, im happy with the 2gb minisd.

i tested several ones .
the one is installing on my phone currently is ( SDHC Support Kit hurricane and QTEK9100 ) which i downloaded from this forum

thanks for your reply. i think the registry you mentioned is the key . i worked on it for several days and still i can't figure out what settings i need to use but i think the registry you mentioned will one day solve this problem.

can u please let me know which driver exatly u installed and if you replaced the two dll files or not ?
also what is your 4gb card and what brand is it .
Look If You Have My-doc On Your Card (due To Camera Etc.)
If So Try To Rename It
it would be very helpfull to have a list of those roms which does not need a pc to flash. i am requesting all bosses to provide the list in this thread. thanks

All roms can be flashed this way mate, just use USPL or HSPL and use storage card method to flash

i have puted several roms(cloudy,xtgrid leo,nrg,goldlocke) in the root of my storage card and hard format my phone but my ph is not flashing with the new rom.
can any boss help me please?
i want to get rid of this trouble as soon as possible.i don't want to use any pc to flash.

Personal experience is that any SD card larger than 2gb will not instal new Rom's
Cards smaller than 2gb work fine.
Yours may be different but try and see. If you do not have a small SD card they are very cheap these days mate

as mentioned, ALL ROMs are capable of being flashed to a phone through SD Card. But since you are a new member, you might need to think of these:
1. did you have the correct filename of the nbh file inside your card?
it should be "BLACIMG.nbh" and must be placed at the root of your card.
2. do you know how to go to the bootloader mode(tri-color screen)?
phone off --> hold "voldown" and short press "power" button
it MUST be working.

i don't know why,nobody knows why...
You have to rename the ROM image to "BLACIMG" before putting it onto your SD card. I use an 8GB card and have never had a problem.

i think you have to format youre 8gb sd card to fat 32
i also use a 8 gb card without any problems AFTER i formatted it

I think i have a dodgy card because every time i try to use it on my pc it ask's to check for errors. I have done that several times, copied everything to and from the PC to format it and it still has problems. It works OK in the phone though so I just accept the status quo and flash from the smaller card. Going to upgrade soon so will probably get a new SD card then and see if my experience changes after that. Thanks for your help though

It should be renamed "BLACIMG.nbh" NOT "BLACIMG.NBH"
Note LARGE caps AND small caps
When you reboot the phone hold down the Volume down button until the bootloader shows then wait till it reads the card. Then press power button and it will start ti flash the new ROM

All i can suggest then is try a new card mate. Like i said before, I have a card that does work and a card that won't work
i've also tryed in a 1gb card sir.anyway,no solution for my problem, bosses can close this thread.

for 1st time i hear someone to have problem flashing because of the SD card!
From 2 years i flash only from the SD card and im with the default 8GB Sandisk that comes with the Phone when i bought it.
So like already many peoples say the answer is

I realise that English is probably not your first language, but we need a bit more information before anyone can help you.
Which Nand build did you install?
Which sdcard are you using?
Did you backup and format the sdcard and try again?

Try going in settings>sd&phone storage and mount/unmount the card and see if this works for you.
There were other posts here with the same problem, try searching this forum and see if someone fixed it.
also check if its formated as fat32.
when i go to setting---sd card and phone memory---ifound the devise not descover sd card ((but the same card work with wm6.5))
i search for 3 days in the web to fix the problem
((many of the users with the same problem))
ifound some pepole asking the same Q but without answer

Do a hard reset. /format the card - find the panasonic format utility - do a search here/ flash radio 2.15.50.14. Flash hspl 2.08. Flash Magldr. Flash another NAND Android and see if there is still the same problem.
You can skip all but flashing a new build, but the problem might be somewhere in there.
This should clean the whole device and might fix the problem.

I`ve had the same problem with 8 gb Kingston class4 microSD. Search "Panasonic SD Formater" on google, download, and format you memory card with it. it worked for me, I hope it will work for you too. Good luck

you are going to have to hard reset the phone anyway. You could try to (B)ackup and send any inoffensive cab using cab sender beforehand, but because of the different size it probably wont work (no harm trying though, especially if your bigger card is incompatible, then you can (R)estore to your 2Gb).
If you haven't named your phone 5 times in zune then it will restore your apps though not your games progress (search, it may now be possible, same for SMS)
Oh i nearly forgot, if you want your 2Gb card useable again you might want to add a partition and storage unlock it (but do it after you (b)ackup) unless you know someone with a nokia
thanks m8 ) I have now 8GB Adata class 2, and it's not working really good, sometimes it just appears message that this card is changed, fault or something and I need to do hard reset... I also have sandisk 2GB original, and it was working quite good, until today, it show me same error as Adata, after I pooled out my SIM card -.- I guess I will have to buy another card...

Hi, yeah I know about that thread, I bought Adata 16GB class 10 earlier today and it's working fine for now, hope it will stay this way.

good point op im dual booting with 4gb but i need to upgrade
let me get this straight all we have to do is stick a new sd card in and hard reset?? is that all? i got nothing to back up by the way??
i presume we have to set up dual boot through storage lock etc

Yes, new card in then hard reset.
If you want the smaller one back, you have to send the smallest (1Gb) partition and storage unlock it first. Then new card in and hard reset. your new card will have the same partition set up on it, you will have to remove this first if you want to try and (R)estore. Then set up any size partition you want.
At least I think you have to have a partition on your SD for storagelock to open. Somebody might try just storage-unlocking the sd and check on pc whether it is readable (200mb).
