phone soft key on today screen

The left hand soft phone key on the today screen fires up the calendar.
I have tried to edit the reg to get it to work the phone and now I just get an error.
Can anyone help and tell me exactly how to edit the reg.

It is a vodafone v1640 and after much digging the key value is 'VTKey'

has anyone else problem with the htc home customizer??

You have to change the originale HTC Home with Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.814.722-schen
But i prefer keep 4 tabs 'cause the display is smaller and tabs would became too small

I used HHC without installing any homeplugins.
Just installed HHC and modfied the original homeplug from the device.
No problems so far.
But i have a xda star (o2 branded dual), so the roms may differ...

Same here it crashed on me!! had to hard reset! I guess it only works with certain touch dual ROM's e.g. O2.

Hi Folks.. just tried the HHC also and cant enter the device lock code.. no response of any soft or hard key of my nike (o2 xda star)
any chance to solve that without hard reset? made so many customizations without backing up

Hi guys, when you installed the customizer into the phone, did you ever see an error message "Can't find the tapsetting" ? I guess this is the main problem ....

DO NOT touch the "Tabsetting" key!!
i tried to manually add the "Tabsetting" key under HTCHome... now, like after installing HHC, all soft & physical keys not responding.
hard reset in progress...

seems the HTCHome version can really handle this key... yet i couldn't find the right data type and data value to enable the music player tab.... i could only find some possible values that lead to zero tab or disabling all soft & physical keys.

I've a worster problem that is after install htc customizer my touch Dual goes nuts and neither soft and hard reset solved the problem.
I say worster, because at this moment I even can't start my Touch Dual. It block always or in windows screen or in PIN screen and don't let me write anything.
I don't have more ideas.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Stupid manual..... say to do ENTER to reset phone, but do not specified that enter is not exactly the enter key of keypad but it's the key in middle of direction cursors that is between RED and GREEN keys.
At least I hope this helps anyone.

UK Orange Touch Dual here, no problem with HHC at all

U have to change the language of the HHC, i had the same problem with italian HHC and English Home plugin.
After reboot, WM6 don't loads. ( sorry 4 my bad english )

Haven't encounter no problems, works smoothly and nicely.

A few UI modificaiton questions.

I've been searching around quite a bit but have been unable to find solutions for what I would like to do to my PPC.
I have a hermes running At&t wm5 with no intention of upgrading yet;
but my questions are:
1. I would like to change the icons of the programs in all of my menus such as start>programs and start>system>settings. I assume a program or patch, as well as a lot of work is needed. Any ideas how to go about doing this?
2. I want to change the 2 bottom soft keys on the today screen (phone/contacts) to Lock / Contacts. As in just hit my left hard or soft key to lock the phone.
Any help is much appreciated

hey. thank you for the app! I tried it but unfortunately it did not have an option to place the device lock as a soft key.
so unfortunately both problems are still left unsolved =/

Annoying, VERY annoying problem - function keys

Hey guys,
As the title says Ive got a very annoying problem with my xperia. Problem is that the right function keys (silver one) assigned action always changes from "right function key" to "Today" upon restart.
Id like to not do a hard-reset if possible. Anyone got any suggestions how to make sure it sticks with what action I assign to it?

sounds to me like the assignment isn't "sticking" in the registery and goes away after restart. try a registery editor and manually assign the key to the program you want.

i have the same problem. do you have tf3d installed ?

yes I do have tf3d installed. which registry key should I change?

I have the same problem. In addition to tf3d I installed the cab that enables to make a panel out of it. Help?

Use AEBPlus to re-assign the key(s). For each hard keys, you get 4 different actions. You will appreciate what u can do with the hard keys!

Also mine after installed touchflo3d.
Guys, remove TF3d! We have a Xperia, X-panel is more than enaught.

doesn't work in my x1. something keeps changing the registry value back ... :-(

yep I had this problem too when I installed TF3D. In the end I uninstalled it because I wanted the right button mapped to voice command and it got annoying having to remap it after every soft reset
if someone has successfully stopped it automatically setting it to "today" please tell us how

I am using Touch-HD Manilla instead of TF3D and don't have this problem. Why not use Touch-HD Manilla instead? From what I read, this is faster than TF3D.

Yes, am using Manilla HD Full. Also installed the T3FD panel, but later removed it.
I am on ROM 1.02 (was on ROM 1.01 also) by Jack Leung, AEBPlus works on both with Manilla HD Full installed. Didn't bother to install the panel.

I have Touch HD,but I also have this problem,why...

Just curious, are you on the original rom?
I understand some ROMs, the email signature also doesn't get saved. Wonder if this is a related issue.

Removing Soft Keys

Hey guys, I recently flashed my Apache to WM 6.5 with the rom found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502418
I wanted to remove the soft keys from the today screen but both solutions I have found dind't work. I tried VJToggle II and dciNoBar. For both of them the bar would go away but the bar from where I was previously would show. (If I went to the start menu the word lock would appear at the bottom of my screen instead of the soft keys).
Does anybody have a fix for this?
