Exchange as items arrive not reliable in 6.1? - Touch Cruise ROM Development

Problem:
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this. After upgrading from the factory Windows Mobile 6.0 rom to Bepe's 6.1 (.67 premium) and also under the [May 05] udK 8.0 R1 Vega ROM, I'm seeing long reception delays for Exchange email from our Exchange 2007 SP1 server with the default setting "as items arrive". Sometimes it can take as long as 30 minutes for the device to realize there is new email. If I manually fire off an ActiveSync, all new email comes in instantly. This did not happen under the factory 6.0 rom.
Possible Reason?
I have left my unit at the factory radio rom version of 1.58.21.23. Is it possible that Windows Mobile 6.1 has some new radio API requirements for "as items arrive" which the old radio rom does not support?
Anyone?

Sync client for intellisync for WM 5.0?

Hi,
I used to synchronize all my contacts and calendar from my Magician with our enterprise server via Intellisync Mobile Suite. The sync client installed on the PPC does no more work with WM 5.0 due to changed databases.
Does anyone else have a work around for WM 5.0 or an updated sync client version for WM 5.0?
TIA
Not yet. Intellisync claims they are working on it, but I find their communication and web site very poor when it comes to finding new info.
I also think they have been sold (don't remember the details).
I hope they get it done, it is much better than ActiveSync.

MS_activeSync_BB_connect Desktop 2.1 vs MS_A_synch 4.x

Hi All,
in many cases the BBC SW comes bundled w/ the MS-Active Synch BB Connect Desktop version 2.1.1.
The actual MS version is 4.x
Does somebody know the difference?
Does the vers. 2.1.1 have specifics to work w/ BB Connect?
I run my XDA trion w/ MS Asynch 4.2 and I have a principle problem that the synchronization of deleted mails (either on Dektop or BB) does not work over the air i/f. Can that be the reason?
Thanks
hk
nobody a clue ??
you need both, the BB one connects to the BES and allows you to configure your calendar and mail sync, the MS one allows you to do the rest... bit of a pain I know!!

Problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6

Hi,
As per the title... I have a problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6.
I am with SFR. I updated the ROm for the Radio and the whole WM. Went from WM5 to WM6 (3.23). Everything went well. except that when I reinstall the setting for the push mail with the small piece pf software coming from SFR, it doesn not download mail.
Account is created. Network connection is alive. Everything is fine except it does not work... lol
Thanks for your help.
I had the same problem, checked the activesync error code and found that push mail works when activating SSL encryption.
the error code I had was : 0x85010014
But I do not use Activesync to sync my mail. I use pushmail. Liveconnection. Maybe I do not understand your point.
Thanks.
When you say pushmail do you mean you have setup an account in activesync on the device??
Or "pushmail" is a 3rd party software package ??
This is a third party software but that is almost the only feature that worth to have that knif of phone. This is the same thing as a Blackberry mail system. But on a Microsoft OS.
I know we can set it up directly but it is not alwats alive.
So I use the SFR (The phone company) third party to do the job. It works throufh "Visto" company.
I create a network connection based on GPRS that stay connected with the phone company. The mail software is then able to stay connected as it would be for outlook through exchange. The diffrence is that my account is a pop3.
The service for SFR is provided through push.sfr.fr using Visto Technology.
Since the software is not designed for WM6 (it will have been designed for WM5) it may not work as intended. Unfortunatly you may have to wait until a newer version is available.
That is excatly the answer I was hoping not to receive ;-)
Thanks for your help.
I've isntalled the WM6 LVSW Edition 3.23, do you think it may change somehting If I try the others like the black one or the other?
I dont' really know the differences.
I would recommend upgrading to the latest version of LVSW, its based on a newer WM6 build.
To make sure you have all the recommended stuff on your phone follow my guide. This will make sure you have a fairly up to date device
Suggestion for Push mail
Check if the GPRS setting is wap.cingular or isp.cingular. When I upgraded to WM6, I had my GPRS switch to wap, and when I reconfigured it to ISP, my push mail started working fine again.
If you do not know, you can search for the GPRS configuration in this site.
All the best.
Thanks to alll of you.
I was able to get my mail but using the regular Internet account through the WM outlook. It is less efficient than with the live one.
I've alreayd used your guide with the 3.23 version. But it seems there is a new release every 2 days. I see the 27.3 is now out!
What the diffrences between
XDA Live v0.20.x
LVSW (27/3/2007)
VI Black Edition v1.2
Is that all different version of WM6? Should I hang on LVSW?
Thanks!
Can't find the setting about the WAP/ISP for gprs.
And about the upgrade for WM, it seems that I already have the latest.
IS there a new version that kept the same 3.23.0.2?
Thanks.
I'm also having no luck with the Visto software since updating to wm6. It installs fine and seems to run as it always did, even down to it connecting to push.vodafone.net and saying "connected" and displaying my mailbox name. The problem is emails just aren't getting through!
Also, if I go to the mailbox in the messaging program and try to select "New" it just pauses for a long time and doesn't open a new message so I can't try sending messages.
Any ideas? it seems to be almost entirely working, I'm sure there's some configuration that can be done to fix it?
I found a fix!
A new version not-really-yet-released of the SFR Push Mail software. As soon as I did a clean uninstall / install it connnected ans start to download mail!
Where did you get that version from? Is it the standard Visto software? What version is it?
Thanks.
Got it from the Visto support in Paris. the version is ni my signature. This is the Visto software but for SFR only.
If you are stuck without the real push mail, don't forget you can use a regular pop config on your WM outlook using the Internet connection from your GPRS. It is just not as good as the real tool.
The problem is that my 3G/GPRS data is limited whereas the push mail data is unlimited, including attachments. So push is my only real option.
Does anyone know if there is an actual WM6 device on the market yet that I could say to Visto I'm using?
Hi,
I'm having the same problema as you. Upgraded my Tytn to Windows Mobile 6 (LVSW 26-03-2007 version) and now my Visto push email software does not retrieve any email (I have Vodafone Real Mail Service in Spain based on Visto solution).
The service is the same as SFR in France (and others). Please, could you post your application so I can download and use it (I don't mind having it in french).
Thanks and regards
To all,
Please contact me directly if you want to get WM6 compatible VISTO soft for your PPC.
Just tell me exactly what is your OpCo (VF ES, VF ITA, SFR, etc...) and your GSM number.
Regards,
gvernot.

Exchange 2007 question...

I have been using my Kaiser with WM6.1 latest Dutty's ROM (very nice ROM y the way) and getting pushed email from work which they were using exchange 2003. Today they moved my account to the exchange 2007 server, I reconfigured the server on the phone just to make sure that hopefully I was going to get all the EXC 07 like html email, out of office assistance, etc.... but I did not get anything of that. ....... Would they have to activate that at the server side?
As far as I know HTML email isn't supported via synchronising with exchange 07. I tried for days rtying to get it working with my 2007 server and my WM6 device, but it didn't work. I emailed tech support and the said it wasn't supported
No clue about out of office assistance, sorry
Actually HTML mail with Exchange 07 is supported. I run an Exchange 07 server, and there is an option to enable HTML email. I don't remember if it's enabled by default, because it involves an Activesync policy configuration on the server and so on. Basically, ask your Exchange admins (if you can) to create a default Activesync policy that can be applied to your phone.
kltye... could you??

Click to collapse
could you mention where exactly in the configuration you have to set the html email and the out of office assistant.... they tell me that my account has already those setting but I do not see it happening in my device... I am using duttly 1999 ROM, would it be a matter of certificates missing?
This issue is closed... Sync with Exchange 2007
Guys, just to let you know that I spent almost 3 days trying to configure Activesync through Exchange 2007 with latest Dutty's ROM without success. I had to go back to the original ROM on my HTC branded phone to finally get all the feature of exchange 2007 like HTML email, fetch mail, out of office assistant, etc.
In case somebody that has synchronized in any 6.1 cooked ROM I would appreciate to let us know which one is as I think there is where the failure is….

Exchange 2007 Sync Problems - Scott Crosler ROM - Worked on Exchange 2003

Hi Everyone-
My company recently upgraded to Exchange 2007 and I cant synch up anymore. I have reset my device and tried a few other things but the only thing that works is that it enforces the security policy on my phone.
I cant synch with Exchange 2008 and keep getting the error code "0x85010013" on my titan.
I am running The ScottCrosler ROM that is built of DC 3.2.6.
It worked just fine with Exchange 2003.
Please note that I work 50,000 employee company so I cant ask the exchange administrators to change their settings. But I am hoping there is something I can do on the Phone to correct this.
Thank you!
Exchange 2003 -> 2007 isnt a rolling upgrade so you've got to add a server and junk...a lot of configuration...which means there is much that can go wrong...
...there probably isnt anything wrong with your phone. Its much more likely that the Exchange "upgrade" isnt playing. Surely there is someone in IT who you can talk to.
If not...please let us know who you work for so we can be sure to never ever do business with them.
HAHA---
I worked with IT and they fixed it by creating a new security profile for me "only" and now it works.
Looked like the security policy in Exchange 2007 does not work well with the cooked ROMs.
