Help: Audio manager does not display songs by folders - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi,
I looked everywhere and I could not find an answer. I love audio manager as a music player but I can't get it to display my mp3 files by folders.
I explain:
On my computer I kind of made playlists, and each one of them is in a folder. I uploaded the folders in My Music folder but audio manager does not display the songs in their respective folders (that would be the way the commong mp3 player would do it) . Not sure how to do it. Should I upload in a specific way (sync?) or is there a registry tweak that allows me to see the folders.
Please any suggestion is welcome. Thanks

Audio Manager will display the library similar to WMP, you can create your own playist through AM, or create them through WMP on your PC and sync the playlists. It will not display folders, I know of one that will though, S2P.

Thanks for the reply

Changing alarm clock sounds

Is it possible to use sounds/music you have installed instead of the standard sounds that come pre installed on the phone. Any ideas would be great.
hmmmmmmmmmm,
Copy ur music file to "windows" or "My documents" folder, it will search and automatically add to list, then u can set it.
I would advice u to use any software like cradle alarm/Vistalarm/G-Alarm.
Make sure it is a wav audio file (mp3's won't work)...

I will add that you will need an mp3 to wav converter, if all of your files are in mp3 format. I use media coder.

make a folder on the sd card name My Music, that should work
Not possible Unless someone finds a way to edit it in the manila files. It just searches the storage card for all media. So my suggestion to you would be to have all the other audio on your internal storage or use another player. I don't even use the TF3D player. I used to think it was all awesome, but screw it, S2P and CorePlayer ftw! WMP is good, no doubt. If you want a really good player, buy Conduits Pocket Player

That's possible yes:
HTC FAQ Page
Simple answer: Add a image file (in JPeG) to the folder you store the album in and call the file folder.jpg (you may hide it if you want).
One thing: You need to re-add the files to the player, meaning all files you have in your current playlist (on the TF3D page) will not get updated untill you reselect them.

no it doesn't work. at least for me.
look what i am doing:
1. i set my usb connection as disk drive
2. i load to my winamp the songs from album Crises - Mike Oldfield and with winamp i download the artwork from internet named "Mike Oldfield-Crises.jpg"
3. i connect my hd to my laptop and copy into folder Music from my sdcard the folder crises. inside this folder i have the album "Crises - Mike Oldfield" and the "Mike Oldfield-Crises.jpg"
4. on my sdcard i rename "Mike Oldfield-Crises.jpg" artwork as "crises.jpg"
5. set my usb connection asa activesync
6. start tf3d music player and wait until it finds the new album
7. after a while it finds it but the artwork is not displayed
please tell me what am i doing wrong!
thank you!
You have to name the artwork folder.jpg
Not the name of the folder, not the name of the artist. It actually has to be called:
folder.jpg
That's f-o-l-d-e-r-.jpg
Weird i know but it does work.
meanwhile i figured out myself.
but thank you anyway!
Keep in mind that TF3D player doesn't use the file folder.jpg to display the image. It uses a file named hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg. If it's not present but there is a file named folder.jpg, TF3D player will create a file hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg from it.
Therefore you can create your AlbumArt directly under the name hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg.
(however, WMP still uses folder.jpg, therefore I've kept both).
But why don't use mp3 artwork tag to display album artwork ?
Also eventhough you have hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg in that folder, TF3D music player sometime never display the albumart.
TF3D music player suck.
Still like itunes that create playlist easily by drag n drop.
Even I create the playlist manually, it sometime didn't work.

Music Folder on MT3G

Just curious, is there a certain folder I need to place my music files in to play on my player? Everytime I go to music, it grabs all the files from notifications and my ringtones folders!! Is there a easier way to play my music?
Regarding Music...
Can anyone help me out??
Personally I don't use the stock music player for that very reason. Check out an app from the marketplace callled MixZing Lite (it's free.) It has the ability to monitor a specific folder for music and also comes with a pretty slick widget.
You can created a blank file called .nomedia (notice the dot at the front) in your ringtones folder which will stop the Media service (Gallery and Music) from searching in there for files. I have not tested if this will break ringtone searching, so give it a go and just delete your new .nomedia file if all your stuff disappears from ringtones.
You also may be interested to know if you call your album covers AlbumArt.jpg then they will appear in music player when a song from that album is playing, but Gallery will not index them and take a thousand years to load cos of all the covers called different names in different folders.

How to limit the music player to look in /sdram/mp3 directory

I have a bunch of audio books I keep in /sdram/abooks and use MortPlayer which can be configured to use any particular directory.
Problem is the music player now lists my audio books. I want the music player to just list my music files (i.e. what I put in /sdram/mp3). I can't seem to find any way to do that?
Is there an alternative app that will do that? (will have to be in the free section of Market as the powers that be prevent us non-americans from searching through paid apps, go figure).

extract the attached file on your pc, then copy the .nomedia file inside the folder to those folders that you don't wish to have them show in either Photo or Music Player...
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the suggestion. Creating an empty .nomedia file in a directory seems to stop the media player from looking into this directory for media files. It isn't the best way to do it though, imagine you have to go through this process every time you install software that creates a directory on the sdram card. I can't understand the developers of the media player didn't at least make it an option to limit the search for media to certain directories.
I added the .nomedia file into the desired directories but the unwanted songs are still visible in the native HTC music player.
Is there a way to refresh the track list somehow?
same here, probably we've to restart the phone.
I solved his by connecting the Desire to PC via mass storage and disconnecting again. The SD card got "refreshed" this way
MortPlayer Music (free on Astroid Marked) lets you define a directory for music files.
