from time to time my alerts stop playing and i will just see the phone light up when i get a text message i have to restart my phone so i can get them is there a fix to this? does this happen to anybody else?

Yeah, mine did something similar. I always keep my phone on vibrate, and for a while, my phone wouldn't vibrate when I got texts, but the screen would come on though. It did that for like 5 days, and then all of a sudden it started back. Not sure what happened there.

Hi,
Strange thing just started happening to me out of the blue.
I turned my phone off, then on again. When i did, the alarm notification sound kept going off again and again and again. But at the bottom of the screen, there is no notification of anything. It keeps going every few minutes unless i mute my phone entirely.
Anyone have a clue what this could be?

Sorry yall, never mind.. just did a search and found an existing thread
I use HTC Touch Dual and seems to have hang problem when sms coming with vibrate. The vibration is not going to stop and the screen just freeze.
I tried hard reset, and don't install any program, but the same problem still happen. i also use the original tone given from HTC. It's not always but it's the one that bugging me lately. Maybe you guys have idea what the solution?

i also having similar problem sometimes when received a SMS the phone will non-stop vibrating until you softreset or received another SMS but that's no freeze like teguh36.
same issue here... turned vibration off for sms for the time being... device doesn't 'crash', but it won't stop vibrating... Is this a female phone or sumthin? ;-)

I also have the same issue but no freezing.
A quick fix I use is to jump to the Profiles tab, click Vibrate and then back to Automatic (I usually keep it on Automatic). This does the trick without having to do a soft-reset
just noticed the same problem! happened twice today!

I have looked everywhere but can not find any setting for it, and i have upgraded to the latest stock htc rom but still same issue:
Sometimes, only sometimes, when I get a new text/sms message the phone beeps about it, but sometimes it just flashes the green light and no sound. When I turn the display on, it takes a second and then! the beep! for a new text/sms is played. It is very annoying, as I can go hours without knowing I actually have a new message.
Anyone else have this issue? anyone know the solution?

yea it happens to me too, duno y tho. Sometimes mine vibrate with no sound and the vibration doesn't stop either, just keeps going.
HTC released a hotfix, go check their website.

The advanced config tool is knocking around somewhere, should come up easily in a search, hope that helps...
Volume changes - For instance, I'm at work and I sent my phone to silent or vibrate first thing in the morning. Then, on my break I would use my phone but not change the silent or vibrate mode at all. All of a sudden, I'm off my break working, and my phone would ring and I would be like "WTF, I put it on silent/vibrate" .....and this doesn't happen all the time, just occasionally on its own. Anyone else having this issue?
SMS text not showing - With this issue, I would tap the text message box and would see myself texting, then all of a sudden I can't see what I'm typing at all, until I tap the text box again. It gets hella annoying and want to know if this issue was apart of the SMS bug issue.

I get that same issue, in my case the cause is a new message appearing in the thread, while I'm still composing a reply to an earlier one...any time that happens, my text input box disappears behind the keyboard, until I close and open it again.

Is anyone else having their phone do a random vibrate like a notification came in, but you don't see anything showing up as coming in to have it do that?
Advanced Features->Smart Alert is causing it. It will vibrate upon pickup detection if you have a missed call or unread message.
I've been experiencing the same problem on my S8+ and it's driving me crazy. Notification reminder, smart alert and all these other features are off. Really don't know what to do, I'm guess it's a hardware issue.

Do you have Bixby disabled? It was happening to me when I hit the Bixby button with Hello Bixby disabled.

Hmm, ok. I just turned it Off. It was happening while the phone was already in my hand and I'd be doing other stuff. No calls or msgs were coming in when it happened though. Will see if this stops it.
Settings -> Accessibility -> Notification Reminder -> Turn Off
Hope that works. If not I remember back in my S6 days there was a menu in accessibility also for one of the categories where it had heptic feedback for sounds and everytime there was movement or sound it would vibrate. I cant find it though

Same here, I doubt that it's related to notification reminder. I had it turned off since I bought the phone.
If there is nothing happening (messages coming etc.) I think the vibration might come from the false haptic feedback in home button. Mine does it quite regularly and it is starting to drive me crazy. I hope it is software issue as the DOA isn't available anymore and I don't want to give it for the repair just yet.
My Phone also vibrates when my finger is near the fingerprint sensor and cant read it

Is your bluetooth connected to anything? Once your phone's bluetooth disconnects from the other device, the phone vibrates

Same here. I'm going nuts if nobody knows a solution.
That's since S4 days, people.
Mine does it too while I'm holding it. No notification on the status bar. It will just vibrate by itself.
My S4 never did that and that doesn't mean we should be fine with it.
It happens to me with the home button, the vibration isnt reliable and it sometimes vibrated 3 times.

So I uninstalled an app called Samsung Pay, then my phone just stopped getting the random vibrating.

It is the Edge Panel. I had to turn off the Edge Panel to stop the vibration. Or you can go to settings and turn off the vibration for activating the Edge Panel. What happens is when you hold your phone, your palms sometimes activate the edge panel.
Since we are at it , while am driving and having the phone between my legs it turns on by itself. no vibration or anything. Anyone with similar issues?
P.S No notifications whatsoever. System or Internet based.
