Disable screen when on the phone? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hello....
I am sure there are posts on this board for this topic, but yet everything I seem to search for does not find it. I apologize if there is a post and I have missed it!!
Does anyone know how to make the screen turn off when you are on a call? I just cannot seem to find this function. I can easily do this on the Tilt, but for some reason I cannot figure it out on the Wizard. My wife keeps hitting the End Call button on the dialer she uses with her chin and keeps hanging up on people.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Eric

Not one person can help me out??
I know someone out there knows how to have the screen turn off after 30 seconds or something like that while on a phone call. It just has to be an option that I am overlooking.

ahhh,
i really want this feature too

While on the phone just press the power button again on the top of the phone, the screen turns off and the call continues until either party hang up.
Is that what you mean?

I just remembered I posted this a while back as my wife was asking me again.
dav3ywrx - thanks for the tip... can't believe I never thought of that!!! I will try it out tonight.
Thanks again.

No problem, good luck

You probably should give a little more detail of the problem in order to get better help. Does it make the call to same person every time? Does it make the call on certain intervals? Are you using any particular programs when it happens? etc., etc. It's kind of like taking your car to a mechanic and saying..."The car won't start."
You say u used a new ROM and got the same problem..
But did u format the 4bg Internal Storage too (Boot manager asks to format the device storage or the internal storage too, don't know the correct spelling). This is while flashing new ROM.
Maybe a virus is on your 4gb internal storage and keeps installing himself.

It makes calls at the last outgoing number. I used to use the S2U2 program to lock my device in order not to push any button when i have it in my pants. sorry for my bad english, but i'm very dissapointed with my new diamond so that i'm thinking to sell it
the same thing happens with my diamond. i lock the phone by holding the hang up key, turn off the screen using the power button and use sensorlock to lock again, still, somehow, the phone will make calls to the last person in my call list. the only things i have added to the standard factory handset are:
1.93 rom from the orange.co.uk website,
diamond VRHologram 2.02,
sensorlock 0.40,
gyrator
and one mp4 format movie.
very frustrated. does anyone know what might be causing this problem? i´ve found that sensorlock can be bypassed ( i.e. screen unlocked ) by small movements rather than the full 360° turn which is supposed to be required, but the built in screen lock ( set to locking both hardware and screen buttons ) should still stop my handset from making calls.
also, sometimes, rather than make a call, i will unlock my phone to find the callender program launched, though tbh i think this was while i was only using sensorlock to lock the phone and may have been a result of my finger/palm touching the screen during the rotation gesture.
sorry for the long post, just trying to convey my situation as clearly as possible. if anybody has any solutions or ideas please reply or even pm me, i dont feel confident putting my diamond away because i never know what it´l do by itself, and its really peeing me off!
thankyou very much in advance

Guys, I'm kind and considerate, you're asking in the wrong forum, you should really be in the >Diamond>Diamond forum *and* you should be searching for the answer first.
Some people can be a little 'short' with new posters if you post without searching
Anyway, (as I'm kind and considerate) it's very unlikely to be a virus, it's more likely that your Diamond is turning on in your pocket and redialling your last dialled number, there are loads of threads about this, try searching for answerkeys disabler, what was wrong with S2U2 didn't that solve the problem.

I have a sprint cdma diamond. I have to turn off the screen during the call because my face will hit a button and do silly things. NOW even with screen off I will be in mid call and my diamond will dial a number on my other line. Think this is a hardware bug IMO happens at least 3 times a week
Headphones?
Just a thought ...
I find the button on the standard headphones very easy to knock and initiate last number dialling, could this be your cause?
If using the radio, I switched back to my old Jasjam headpones - WITH a volume control Otherwise the bluetoooth Motorola HT820's are good value.
It would be good if a warning came up first before it dialed out.

Help with S2U2 Issue on TP2!!!

First time posting here, you guys are the best. After configuring s2u2, almost every incoming call i receive usually leaves the screen blank after disconnecting the call. The phone does not allow me to get into the menu and has the text (s2u2) in the top left corner. The only way to get back to the menu is to remove the battery, doesn't even allow me to power phone off. Can anyone assist me? i there something in the menu i need to adjust? Would really appreciate any help i van get.

[Q] Accidentaly answer to phone calls (by pressing green button)

Is there any way to avoid answer or reject incoming calls by accidentaly pressing the hard buttons?
This is happening to me sometimes. The phone inside my pocket and, by accident, I answer to some calls. I wish this could be done only by sliding the screen bar, as in Windows Mobile.
Has anyone find a walkaround for this?
Thank you in advance.
I don´t know if I was clear about my question. I mean, the Android port to HD2 has a "bug" witch consists in the ability of answering or rejecting phone calls by pressing the hard buttons, even if the screen is locked.
Has anyone notticed this? Can I disable this?
Thank you!

Remove the telephone functionality of device... Ah I feel old.
Funny But I need a real solution. Doesn't this bother anyone else?
So you want to disable the hardware buttons from being able to answer or hangup phone calls? That's what they're there for, no matter what your screen says. It's a "bug" in winmo also, and every other cell phone out.

Nope, it´s not. In WinMo I can only answer/reject a call using hard buttons only if the screen is unlocked. If it is locked, the only way to do so is by sliding the screen.
Any tips, guys?
I agree on this, for me irs a realy big problem. It happens everytime my phone rings while in my pocket.

I'm glad someone has the same problem as I do. Hope somebody could help us.
I have it too. Not sure sarcasm is going to fix this though!!
I also have this problem when phone in pocket!
couldn't you just remap the call button to something else...?
Well first its not a green button for me.
And yeah! that sux! i guess its the easiest thing that a developer can do.. i imagine that it can be fixed by changing a number from the drivers like "AnswerButton=0 or False"
I am also facing this issue now and then. Solution would be appreciated
I am suffering from this problem, too.
Already posted that on different threads here.
Hoping that this is fixed soon.
Is there any chef reading to this post? Do you face this problem also? It would be nice hearing from you if this problem is easy or not to solve.
Thanks.
It would be very nice if there is a solution for this problem.
Yesterday I started testing Android on my HD2 and I like it. But this problem would be a "no go", becaus I think ppl don't like to talk with my pocket :-/
No solution?

I've been using "screen suite" (paid, from Market) but there are probably others

Tried, but every configuration tested, don't prevent accepting/rejecting calls with hardware keys
I think a small tool with two options would be enough:
- Accept calls with hardware button? yes/no
- Reject calls with hardware button? yes/no
I can't find such a tool, so I've to use windows.
For the people who haven't found out yet, I found the solution to this problem.
I know it's a bump but might help some people out.

[Q] screen locked while phoning

Hi everyone,
I have a problem. My screen is locked when I phone. This is really what I want. No dialing with my ear, not turning the microphone out with my ear while I´m phoning, and so on.
But...
If I´m calling a line where I have to press additional numbers (press 1 for service...) I cant do it cause the screen is locked.
Does anyone know how I can have the screen locked and still have the possibility to use additional numbers if I need it?
Thanks.
If you mean that the screen is still on but not responding, someone just a few days ago posted the same problem, and it was solved.
here's the post:

you're welcome
there's a search button to look for similar problems before you post, it's usually faster than posting a new one. there's also a thanks button at the end of the post (next to quote, quick reply, etc.) if you find the post helpful
so whenever someone helps you, hit their thanks button

[Q] My Phone Keeps Beeping

I just recently bought my Note 4, and have to say it is the single best phone I have ever owned lol. I am still trying to learn about it. I mean it is Rooted and I do not even know what that means LOL
Anyways the reason I joined is because I need help. This has been happen off and on, my phone keeps beeping every time I shake my phone. I did not know you can shake the phone and even have it do anything (I need to really learn more about my phone haha). When I am out walking the beep drives me bonkers! It will even bleep during the start of a phone call. I recorded the sound and really hope that I can upload it.
Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide. I am sure it is just something simple, but I am not seeing it
Hi there,
A simple Google search brings me here:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s4/282858-2-tone-beep-sound-constantly-playing.html
Did you try turning off NFC to see if this causes the problem?
(This doesn't seem to happen on my handset when turned on btw.)
Else turn off Orientation Lock maybe?
(Seeing the fact you say it occurs more when you move or shake your handset.)
Question: Does the sound also play if the profile is on silent mode?
Kind regards, Stefan.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question
I came across that same thread when I was searching for answers before coming here. It did not find it relevant because my NFC is not on.
I was able to kind of see a screen before silly me accidentally hit the back button. I did not see the name of the app, but it was a white background with a picture of an orange mic and switch on the bottom in orange that says sonar. There was probably other things on the page but that is all I saw for the split second I saw the screen. Then it is after it started doing the beeping. When I look at my apps the only ones I have that have anything to do with my mic is S Voice, Voice Recorder and Voice Search, and not one of them are what I saw. The beeping I am hearing same kind of sound I would hear if I tap Voice Search, but that is not what is causing the beeps.
Hi again,
It does sound like the Voice Search beep, but it seems different.
You could try to disable double tap home for Svoice but I doubt if it would work:
Double tap the home button to*open S Voice.
Press the menu button in the top right of the app.
Tap “Settings.”Uncheck “Open via the home key.”
Did you check the screen orientation lock yet?
I assume you have rebooted your handset right?
Kind regards, Stefan.
We are becoming fast friends! LOL
Yes it does sound the voice search, and it does go away after I reboot my phone, I would just really like to know what this is though so I can try to prevent it from happening or turn it off when it does happen.
Again, thank you so much for caring enough to try and help me.
An other thing that ia worth mentioning is under:
Accessibility these is: direct acces.
When enabled it enables certain user set options by 3x pressing the home button.
But I could not find any option that enabled this beeping.
It could very well be a third party app causing it.
Anyways good luck, maybe anyone else has some input.
Kind regards, Stefan.
You might try safe mode to see if an app is causing it. It will temporarily disable all non-system apps. See if that fixes it. If so, it is an app you installed. m.androidcentral (I can't post links yet so change this to a '.') com/galaxy-note-4-safe-mode
