Hi
I am trying to get my O2 XDA mini s working with orange. I have CID and SIM unlocked the phone, loaded the recommended 1.05 button rom (eventually!) and installed 2 "network select" programs. The phone works in normal "talk" mode so I can make and receive calls. If I try to send a text message (SMS) I get a message box which states "phone not ready, try again in 15 seconds". If I tap the signal strength icon at the top of the screen and tap "settings" I get the same error. If I go to settings/phone I get the same message! This is driving me NUTS!
What am I missing?
Pete
Sorted, just needed to load the T Mobile rom. Must be related to the old GSM radio rom?
Related
When I dial, it reads "dialling" for 3 seconds, then"call ended"
I just bought a used MDA compact locked to Tmobile (without a SIM)
So I upgraded the ROM etc from Tmobile site, and used the unlock tool form this site
I tried an O2 and Vodafone SIM, but no joy
Should I try removing the SIM, use the unlock tool, then hard reset again?
Or is it something simpler?
Could the phone be blocked?
Where do I look for more info?
there is only ever one bar on the signal strength indicator
I have selected vodafone GB/O2 in the network page
my first post, I checked the other posts, hope I haven't missed anything too obvious
hm...try to upgrade radio?
THE RADIO IS 1.12
should/can I still upgrade it?
I just got a text from vodafone, so something must be working
I just tried the unlock tool again, I got a "successfully unlocked" message
however when I tried to use the phone, it said"phone can not be used without a radio" so
I looked in the manual, nothing about a radio
it says R 1.12.00
G 1337.42
D I.13.00 WWE
after reset
how would I install a radio?
I installed 1.13 radio but the phone still won't work.
I can send/receive texts on Vodafone, but on O2 sim it says"cannot register on network"
Also, cannot hear dial tone etc, though sound works well on mediaplayer
Like I said before, it rings for 3 seconds, then says "call ended"
UNLESS I switch to flight mode, then back, in which case it will dial out for 20 seconds(but only once)
Can anyone confirm whether I have a genuine fault or not?
thanx
I have just got an o2 mini s (HTC Wizard) from work. When trying to use my Orange sim card in it the phone will boot and I can make/receive normal calls.
When trying to send SMS or change the Phone settings I get the message: "Phone is not ready please wait 15 seconds" continually.
Does this indicate that the phone is locked to o2 or not and needs an unlock code - or anyone have any other ideas?
I have tried googling/searching for similar issues on Orange with the Wizard but there doesn't appear to be a clear answer.
Thanks.

No this does not indicate anything. I had this problem before.
Try this::
Go to comm manager and turn on flight mode and then turn it right back off. Wait untill your phone re-acquires a signal and then try sending a text again.
Dan
That does not seem to clear it.

Hmmm. That worked for me. Try using lokiwiz ver.02b to sim unlock the device and then look for network wizard to configure the network settings to your new carrier.
orange SMS problem
did you ever get your problem sorted ??? I have exactly the same problem with my T Mobile Vario, unlocked and working fine for calls on Orange SIM, but same mesage as you are getting for texts. Geoff
same problem here
all sorted just load a new radio rom the faria one from here ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Radio_Roms/ wait about 10 to 15 minutes and the system will update its self and say that the settings are not correct for the service provider. Hit update settings and all working. Can now use waht ever rom i want as well.
I have seen others asking about this same problem, but have not seen any answers. I have an unlocked T Mobile Vario ( wizard ) fone. It works fine on the Orange sim for fonecalls, but will not send or receive texts. When I try to send it tells me "phone is not ready, wait 15 seconds and try again". Two months later Im still getting the same message. I have gone into settings and checked that the correct # for orange is there, as instructed by their customer service, and it is. I am unable to go into settings via the fone symbol in the settings page as I get exactly the same message. Can anyone help please, this is driving me nuts ? thanks, Geoff
Try to upgrade to the Radio Rom 2.19, as it is recommended by Orange Netherlands
Hi everybody.
Here is my problem:
In Portugal, as in other countrys, the Network Operator, provides a code (e.g. *#123# for TMN), so the users can check their current balance without having to call the operator. Instead by dialing the code, the network sends back a message to the phone, with that information.
The procedure is as follows
Open the dialer
Insert the code (in my case *#123#)
Press Send (the green button)
Whenever I tried to do this, a baloon pops from the network status icon with the message "Waiting" and a OK button, and it just stays there endlessly, untill i get tired of waiting and press the ok button.
Now, I believe this function worked in WM2003SE, when I had a Magician, but that was a long time ago, so I'm not sure of this.
Well, the fact is that it's not working in WM5/6/6.1 in my Trinity. I've even tried with the official WM5 ROM, but no success.
Does someone know how to make this work, or even if it's still possible?
Thanks in advance

It looks USSD service is missing in the ROM, which is taking care for your application request.

It must be something else because I have USSD_service.dll and the service is active.
I've already tried changing Radio ROM, but the result is always the same.

I'm too facing this problem of not getting the pre-paid balance by dialling *123#, I get the message 'Failed'.
Though I get the accurate pop-up message of my balance after the call has ended, which is from the service provider's side.
Earlier I've used the Elegance ROM & the balance-checking worked perfectly.
having a strange problem with my new HP Ipaq 914 (windows mobile 6.1), I am using a O2 payAsyouGo sim (phones sim free)..
Everytime I send a sms mesage I get the message "your text message cannot be sent" appear on the screen and then "message not sent.please try again?" in red writing on the screen. Yet altho its saying message cannot be sent my messages ARE getting through so i,m told ! altough when i send long messages the receiver gets missing text message after afew lines.
The message cannot be sent alert happens in about 6 out of ten messages sent and is very annoyng as i,m never sure if they get thru or not witout ringing to find out.. I,ve got all the settings correct as far as i no with the call center and user password, also got it set as wap2 on the mms settings, altho i,ve tried wap1.2 no differance, the gateway and server addresses are correct otherwised no text's would be send at all.
I,ve been pulling my air over this since i got the phone at Xmas..
Hope someone can shed some light on this ..
Have you checked with your service provider? is it a service issue with the cellphone company?
yea i checked with the provider, all my settings are correct, it does the same with other sims an my sim works in other phones..
Sometimes it says message was sent and other times , (mostly) its says not sent, yet they are all sending ! very annoying
I have had that issue with my old Toshiba G900 and HP 914C.
It is about the your sim providers credit message service.
After a call and after sending a message, you would get a service message about your remaining credit. That pop-up messages are not suitable with some of the wm6.1 builds of some devices.
Also you messages are sent although you get that message.
