Is there any other way of putting music and other types of files on my wing besides using active sync since that never worked for me. I don't know why it just wont recognize my phone. And is there any way of accessing the micro sd card from the computer? thanks

hi everyone, i have T-mobile MDA USA, and i have noticed that everytime i try to copy large files (50Mb and up) from my PC to my SD in my phone through active sync cable it is taking forever...it is really pissing me off, when i use my card reader to transfer files it is a lot faster...does any one know what could be the problem? i thought the MDA has USB 2.0 isn't it supposed to be fast!!??
please help.
thanks
It's simply a bug with these phones which badly manage ActivSync ... The only solution is to use an external card reader as you do
I went out and bought a 2 gig mini sd card hoping to use it on my mda. when I put it in it seemed to work fine and I put some music on it and was listening to it. The next day I decided to put alot more music onto it and in the middle of transferring the music I had tried one of the songs and it worked fine.
Right when it finished I checked my phone and I couldnt see any of the files. It did say that there was a memory card in and that there was memory used on it but I could not see any files. I did a soft reset and when it was back up it said that I needed to format the card, so I did. Because everything was deleted I tried to load more music back on and it didn't let me because of some access violation.
When I went back to my phone I couldnt see the memory card at all. I did a few resets and took the thing out and it still wouldn't show up. I searched the forums and I found people with similar problems but no answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Happen to me
I bought the 1GB Sandisk MiniSD card and it worked for about 3 months...just before a long vacation I was dumping many MP3s to the card and....BOOM....the card disappeared from the phone...
Better yet the card wouldnt even recognize in my desktop pc (with the adapter of course). I actually had to exchange the card for it to work again.
thank you for your help! just to be sure I understand, you do not think its a problem with my wizard?

Anyone know what I can do? At least how can I get access to the memory card? thanks
i suppose you are using the cabel, which came with the wing - not one from a digital camera or so...
because sometimes the companys are changeing little things in the camera-cables so its not "iso-conform" or standard anymore...
other usb-devices are recognised by ur pc?
did u try other usb-ports?
are u running the newest active-sync?
Error message.
Is nothing happening when you plug it in, or is windows telling you it cannot recognize the device? If nothing happens, you need a new cable. If you get a error message (cannot recognize or device has malfunctioned) then you need to reinstall or update ActiveSync.
You can always load music and pictures by taking the Micro SD card out, using the adaptor, and putting it into the SD slot on your computer. That's much faster for loading music anyway. What version of ActiveSync do you have? Is it the one that came with your phone?
p.s. Only post once for each problem. It may take a few days but someone will get back to you. That way we don't clutter the board with extra messages.
i just changed my cord and it worked fine
Greeting Wizard family! Im trying to back up my contacts from my phone to my computer but the part on the phone where you plug the phone into the computer is broken. i tried the PIM backup but its not letting me save the contacts to the sim. Any suggestions?
If your laptop has bluetooth it can use that for Activesync, too. However, it has to have been connected via USB at least once before to work.
Aside from that, look into pimbackup, and back up on a mini SD card. Cards and card readers are too cheap not to use them for this kind of thing. Just remember to stay at or under 2GB. Anything larger usually does not work.
thanks for the info!
How can I charge my HTC HD2 through USB on a computer without mounting my memory card so I can still access all my files and games through my phone? I found absolutely no help for this issue on Google, which is crazy. I also tried ejecting it from Windows, but the card is still unaccessible through the phone after I eject.
set the phone to active sync instead of hard disk and your problem is solved.
I love you. Thanks for the help. rofl
